Several years ago we visited Seneca falls and I stood where the women before me fought the battle for a woman’s right to vote.
My daughter was too young to realize it then.. as she danced around the memorial.... how this place and the women before her have shaped her future as well as mine.
I continue that fight for equality today... and sadly she will have to continue that fight...
And I'm honored to be surrounded by strong women who continue that fight with me. ❤️

“Charming…lively banter reels the reader in…this breezy outing goes down easy.” Publishers Weekly. lots of drama with this rom com, but in a good way. #Thebreakaway #Jenniferweiner #arcreview #netgalley #bookreview #womensfiction #chicklit #womensrights
Thirty-four-year-old Abby Stern has made it to a happy place. True, she still has gig jobs instead of a career, and the apartment where she’s lived since college still looks like she just moved in. But she’s got good friends, she’s got her bike, and her bike club in Philadelphia. She’s at peace with her plus-size body—at least, most of the time—and she’s on track to marry her childhood…

07/15/22 - Seneca Falls, NY - WHERE IT ALL STARTED HERE - We came through Seneca Falls a few days ago and stopped by the 'It's A Wonderful Life' Museum which we really enjoyed. On our way out of town, we saw the Women's Rights National Historic Park but didn't have time to stop. Luckily, our schedule has allowed us to circle back to visit this museum as well. It does a great job of helping you understand all the rights women didn't have, relative to men, back in the mid 1800's. Things have improved greatly since then. It all started here when a few brave women took a stand, organized and did what they had to do to precipitate change. While the progress has been great, much more work is needed to achieve true equality for women in all relevant aspects of life. Count me in.

Seneca Falls, Pennsylvania
I’ve published over 800 posts about waterfalls, and this past year I realized that I probably should have combined some of the waterfalls together as they can be viewed together. It becomes a bit tedious to write about these when I come back to some waterfalls 10 or 12 years later, and I could have just combined some into one.
The waterfalls in Ricketts Glen are tricky, though. There’s a trail…

A woman should have every honorable motive to exertion which is enjoyed by man, to the full extent of her capacities and endowments. The case is too plain for argument. Nature has given woman the same powers, and subjected her to the same earth, breathes the same air, subsists on the same food, physical, moral, mental and spiritual. She has, therefore, an equal right with man, in all efforts to obtain and maintain a perfect existence.
Frederick Douglass, "Speech at the Women's Rights Convention at Seneca Falls (1848)"
