#Ranger shut up about Doctor Who
thirddoctor · 3 days
Text
the funniest thing about Steven Moffat is the way he lives rent free in the heads of people who stopped watching Doctor Who ten years ago. you can make the most innocuous DW post ever that has absolutely nothing to do with him, and if it gets enough traction sooner or later folks will start talking about how much he sucks on it. I like the guy and I don't even think about him as much as these folks seem to

omg art by @artevalentinapaz to accompany a ridiculous crossover I'm working on:
The blue box appeared in Pneumatics on a Thursday. Teams immediately cordoned it off, and rangers were summoned to keep it under observation.
Jesse wandered in a few hours later, flipping through the report that Emily's team had prepared (and delivered by hand, since Pneumatics were temporarily quarantined).
"What the hell is a 'Police Box?'" she asked, as she looked it over.
"No idea," Emily said. "But that's not the weirdest part."
Jesse sighed and waited.
"In material composition and radioactive emission, it seems to match the Oldest House," Emily said. "At least, from what we've been able to determine from external examination."
"So that implies there's an interior to analyze?" Jesse murmured. She walked over and tried the handle on the box's door, and it stayed steadfastly shut.
A moment later the door popped open with a squeak. Jesse jumped backward and put herself between it and Emily. A blonde woman in a long coat bounded out, waving an object that flashed and whirred.
"Oh," she said, with curious realization. She trotted over to Jesse and waved the object around a bit, listening to the change in pitch. "I don't mean to alarm you, but are you aware that you're infested with an extradimensional alien parasite?"
Jesse blinked. "Yep. She really doesn't like the word 'infested,' though," she said.
"Oh," the woman said, again. She stowed her scanning object in its preferred pocket. "My apologies. Brilliant! I'm the Doctor. This is Yaz."
The other woman who had wandered out of the box waved, and hung back near the door. Jesse noticed that she looked around curiously, and that neither intruder seemed particularly worried about the strangeness of their environment.
"She's the Doctor," Jesse said wryly, as she hooked a thumb over her shoulder toward Emily. "I'm Jesse."
The Doctor started. "Not. Jesse Faden. Oh, and you're Doctor Emily Faden! You're both on my list! Well, I say 'list...'" She appeared prepared to ramble on for quite awhile until her companion gently elbowed her in the side. "It's an honor."
Emily's eyebrows had ascended to some new, permanent altitude. "Pope, actually."
"What?" the Doctor said. She looked around. "Where?"
"Emily Pope."
The Doctor blinked. "Oh." She flicked her eyes between Jesse and Emily and put on a bright smile. "My mistake." She swung her arms idly. "So, how many guns would you say are pointed at us right now?"
"At least a dozen," Jesse said.
"Never liked guns," the Doctor muttered. "What would it take to knock that number to half?"
"You could start by telling us how you found this place."
The Doctor smiled. "It doesn't like to be found, right? Funny, that. And us? We're just travelers."
"She's a menace," came a voice from the shadows off in a corner.
Jesse looked over her shoulder. "Ahti, you know these people?"
Ahti was mopping, and didn't bother looking up from his work. "One has the face that always changes. The other is the constant who is never the same," he muttered. "I know them."
"Nice to see you, too," said the Doctor, with a wave. "And if I'm a menace, we're going to have words about you parking a type 35 TARDIS in New York City for hundreds of years."

Heyyy I have a request! Rooster and readers son has career day at his school and he wants rooster and pilot!reader to come to his school in there uniform and talk about flying for the navy and he’s like 7 and it’s a bunch of fluff :). I really hope this made sense! Thank you for reading this have a good day!! <3
AAAAAAAAAGGGGHHHH!!!!! SO CUTE I'M SCREAMING!!!! You got it dude!!!
Tumblr media
"I don't think I can do this," Rooster groaned as you two pulled into the parking lot of the school.
"Rooster it'll be ok," you assured him. "It's not like you're speaking at a VA convention."
"Yeah but what if they make fun of us?"
"You think a bunch of second graders are gonna make fun of us?" you chuckled. "They probably won't even know about half the shit we're talking about."
Rooster still wasn't so sure. He felt like a dork being in his flight suit, but he kept telling himself that you and him were doing it for Nicky. Besides, your son hardly ever asked for anything, so why was it such a big deal? Rooster turned the key and shut the truck off as soon as you were parked.
"Alright (y/n)," he said. "Ready?"
"Like I've never been before," you said, smiling at your husband.
The two of you walked down the halls to Nicky's classroom, the both of you surprised at how many parents had shown up for career day. You were even happier to know that in a place like Great Ocean Steiner School, the kids were thriving too with most of them being from Navy and Marine families. One kid in the first grade class walked with his father down the hall, the tall, broad shouldered giant in a set of neat dress blues that made you and Rooster a little bit jealous.
You met Nicky right outside his classroom, the both of you scooping him right up and spinning him around as he giggled. "You ready for Mommy and Daddy to come to class with you?" Rooster asked, hoisting Nicky onto his hip.
"YEAAAAAH!!!!" Nicky shouted excitedly, holding up his little hands to form a pair of little devil horns.
You and Rooster couldn't help but laugh at your son's excitement. All week he had talked endlessly to his teacher and friends at school about his mom and dad and how amazing they were. Even Miss Leslie, his teacher, was excited to meet the two of them.
"You must be Mr. and Mrs. Bradshaw," she remarked happily as she stepped out of the classroom. "Leslie Newman, I'm Nicky's teacher."
You and Rooster gladly introduced yourselves, shaking hands with Nicky's teacher. "Looks like Nicky's all excited for the afternoon," Rooster remarked.
"Oh God, he's talked all week about you two!" Leslie informed them, just as excitedly as Nicky had been. "I was hoping I'd get to meet you both. You know, a few of our teachers here are also former military."
"Really?" Rooster asked her.
"Oh yes, one of our high school teachers," Miss Leslie explained. "He was a Marine, our soccer coach I believe was an Air Force officer and I believe our baseball coach was an Army Ranger."
"Holy crow," Rooster chuckled.
"Here, come on in," Miss Leslie said to the both of you. "We're about to start.
Each of the kids in the class introduced their parents, letting them talk about their careers. Some were doctors, others worked in construction while a few worked the blue collar trades. When it was time for you and Rooster to go up, you were both nervous and excited all at once.
The kids asked all manner of questions. Did you fly planes? Yes. Did you fix planes? Sort of. One little redheaded girl in the front row raised her hand.
"Did you ever shoot any bad guys?" she asked.
You and Rooster looked at each other with a smile on your faces. "Well, we did once," Rooster told her.
The kids were wide eyed with awe when you and Rooster told them the entire story of the Uranium Plant Mission. None of them could believe it. A few of them even blurted out that they wanted to be pilots too, even Nicky who proudly proclaimed that he had the best Mommy and Daddy in the world. You and Rooster were secretly high-fiving, the nerves gone and proud that you had both come to career day.

“Please kiss me.” + Shattered Grid; Ziggy/Dillon (because this just feels right)~
Ziggy didn’t think he was capable of being quiet, let alone completely silent. He tried, he really did – but Dillon squeezing his thighs while sucking his cock made it pretty damn impossible. He was whimpering and he knew he was – he tried to be quieter, even with Dillon’s warning hum against his skin.
He and Dillon had been out with the others, trying to socialize while everyone got their upgrades from Doctor K, and suddenly he was here, in a dark room, pants pulled down, with Dillon everywhere. Normally he was the touchy-feely one of the two, but not this time.
With an obscene pop, Dillon slid off of Ziggy’s cock and rose up the thin body, throwing the green and black leather jacket to the side before Ziggy could protest. One hand was under the boy’s ass, lifting him up and forcing him to wrap his bare legs around the larger man. The other came up his green shirt, teasing his chest and pinching his nipples.
At that, Ziggy did moan aloud, quickly being shushed by Dillon, who removed his hand from underneath the green’s shirt. “Do you want every ranger in this universe to hear you?” He hissed, then bit Ziggy’s neck, sucking hard on the same spot. This earned him more whines, muffled from behind his hand. He might have to shut Ziggy up more often, he thought, his dick hard at the strained sounds.
Releasing the squirrelly ranger’s mouth, Dillon quickly cut off any comments as he demanded, “Bite down on my jacket. Now.” His tone left no room for discussion. Ziggy did as he was told, awkwardly taking the shoulder of Dillon’s jacket into his mouth, head laying into the bigger man. Dillon used this as a chance to shift the boy’s weight so that one arm now secured him in place as the one at his ass began to ease him open.
As predicted, Ziggy squealed into the leather. Dillon squeezed him, whispering, “Shut up, even Drakkon will hear you.” He kept going, stretching him further before slipping out to slide out of his own pants.
The anticipation was killing Ziggy, clutching tightly to Dillon’s broad shoulders. Somehow he was still whimpering, even with leather between his teeth, face buried in hot black ranger. He could feel the rustle of fabric against his thighs and Dillon’s warmth entered him achingly slow. He groaned. He couldn’t help it. He thought Dillon did too, but he couldn’t be sure of anything at the moment.  All he could focus on was feeling Dillon everywhere, all over him.
The pressure built for both of them as they moved together. Ziggy released the jacket to kiss and bite along Dillon’s neck, just as he liked to do to the green ranger. With the treatment he received when they first got in here, Ziggy knew he wasn’t going to last long.
“D-Dil–”
“Come for me, Zig.” Dillon ordered, pushing himself deeper. He leaned his forehead against Ziggy’s, taking in his little gasps and moans.
“Please kiss me.” Ziggy begged, eyes wide and desperate. How could Dillon say no?
Their lips met as passionately as the rest of their bodies had been that night, greedy and needy, but full of love and promise. It didn’t matter how bad things got in this war. Yes, they were scared, but they were together. They would fight alongside each other and protect each other just as they always did.
And once they finished, cleaned up, and collected themselves, they would go back out and mingle with the other rangers. Ziggy wanted to, and Dillon, well, Dillon couldn’t say no to Ziggy.
----
Okay, listen, I can explain - I started to write something completely different and it felt much more complicated, so I may have to write a larger thing for thissss buuuuuuuuuuut I was thinking this could be when all the rangers are socializing and stuff when Doctor K gets teleported to the main dimension? And Dillon is having anxiety about being surrounded by a bunch of rangers and people he doesn't know and just wants to feel Ziggy.
I literally just reread that whole part in Shattered Grid so I could find a good point for this! But I also need to branch out and have some fun with the Coinless 'verse other than just what we see in the storyline, so I may try something else out soon :)

Hi everyone! You're all probably wondering what this story is. Or if you're following me on Tumblr you might already know what is happening with this story. But the gist of it is I was rereading the original story about a month ago and decided that while I liked the writing there, I knew I could do better.
So that's what I did. I redid the entire outline and completely rebuilt the story. Now some of the story is the same. But I think with the extra scenes I've added and the scenes I've reordered/and or taken away, it's a lot better.
But I guess you will all be the judge of that. Nevertheless, I hope you all enjoy it and I appreciate any feedback you have!
Summary: With Adam and Hailey still together, what if after the crossover episodes, Kim went home with Jay instead?
Word Count: 4.7k
Warnings: Vague allusions to a kidnapping and sexual abuse case. But don't go into great detail.

It Was a One Night Stand Until I Woke Up Next to You
Kim was busy packing up her stuff after a long, long, long three days of work. One long for each day she couldn’t go home because of this stupid case. She had just opened her locker when Hailey called her name.
“We’re going to Molly’s for a beer, you want to join us?” The blonde offered. Glancing at Upton’s and Ruzek’s joined hands, Kim gave the new couple a tight smile.
“Thanks, but I think I just want my couch, a beer, and a quiet night in.” It wasn’t a complete lie, Kim just didn’t tell them that she also didn’t want to be a third wheel to her ex-boyfriend and his new girlfriend. (Even though she was completely okay with them being a them by now. But it was still weird to be going on what seemed like a date for them)
“Okay if you’re sure,” Upton gave her another smile before Adam pulled her away and out the back door, “See you on Monday, Burgess.”
“Bye Kim,” Adam called on their way out. Shaking her head, Kim started to gather her things when Jay walked in with a bandaged hand.
“They released you, already?” Kim questioned when she saw Jay walk into the locker room. She thought for sure they would keep him overnight for observation.
Tumblr media
“Perks of having a doctor for a brother. I talked him into talking my actual doctor into discharging me early. It was just a few stitches anyway. You all got to me before I could actually spray anything into it. Plus they needed the bed.” Jay explained, showing her his hand before he started to pack up his things for the night.
“Well, you just missed Hailey and Adam. They were going to Molly’s if you want to catch up with them.” Kim slung her bag over her shoulder with a sigh. It had been a long night and a lot of overtime. (Two nights worth to be exact)
“Why didn’t you go with them?”
“Didn’t want to be a third wheel.”
“And you think I do?” Jay asked incredulously.
“I’m fine with them being a them, but I’m still Adam’s ex-girlfriend. It wouldn’t be that awkward for you. You’re Upton’s old partner. Not her ex-boyfriend.”
Kim heard the detective yawn, “It’s been a long night. I think I just want my couch and a beer.”
“That’s my plan too.” She told him, swinging her locker door shut, “I have to stop and buy some though. Kev drank the last of mine.”
“You could come over to my place if you want to.” Jay offered as Kim started to turn the corner of a row of lockers.
“Yeah?”
“Yeah. That way you wouldn’t have to stop and I don’t think any of us should be by ourselves anyway. At least not tonight.”
So that’s how she ended up following Jay back to his apartment and sitting on his couch as he got them both a beer.
A few hours later and another beer later, Kim was laughing at him as he told her a story about Mouse dragging his ass around one day in basic training because he was a stupid twenty-one-year-old who didn’t know his limit yet. They were swapping stories-him about his ranger days and her about being a flight attendant. Another few hours. Another beer.
Kim had been laughing at another one of his stories, sitting with her legs crossed on top of the couch, facing him so it wasn’t a wonder that amid her laughter, she had started to topple over. His hands were there steadying her as he also chuckled. Then it tapered off and faded completely. She glanced up at him just in time to see him lick his lips, and okay maybe liquid courage helped her lean up and press her lips against his.
Jay responded immediately, wrapping his arms around her waist. His hand slipped under her shirt, so it was touching the bare skin of her back as he brought her to sit on his lap.
“Wait...What are...we...doing?” Kim panted in between kisses. Jay pulled away to look at her. He exhaled and she felt it on her lips. Goosebumps started pebbling all over her arms. She shivered in his arms at the warming chill that ran down her spine.
“I don’t know,” he admitted to her, “But after the last few days, this feels right.”
Kim nodded her head. She understood what he was saying. After this last case, they needed something to remind them that no matter what evil they saw on their job, they had something to remind them everything wasn’t evil. Was this a healthy coping mechanism? Probably not. But right now, it wasn’t about that. It was about feeling something. She leaned in to kiss him again and he returned it eagerly before he pulled away to study her, when she started to pull his shirt up.
“How drunk are you? Are you sure you want to do this? I don’t want you regretting this tomorrow.” He told her. Kim shook her head. She wasn’t drunk. Every beer she had that night, had been spaced out enough that she hadn’t gotten drunk. Just buzzed.
“Buzzed. Just enough to be brave enough to do this.” She answered, before turning the question back on him.
“Same, I just wanted to check before we got any farther.” He answered, then he leaned in to kiss her neck. Jay gripped the back of her thighs before he was standing and making his way to his bedroom. Should they have been concerned that they forgot about protection? Probably, but it was fine. Kim was on birth control… If only Kim hadn’t forgotten to take it in the midst of everything that had happened today.
After that night, Kim and Jay went back to normal more or less. They had no reason to drag it out or act out of the ordinary. They both agreed that night was about comfort for them and nothing else. Until four weeks later, when Kim was chasing a suspect for a case and had gone through a fence, cutting her arm open. It wasn’t a cut that deep, but Voight still insisted she go get it stitched up.
At Med, a standard blood workout revealed a lot more than Kim was ready for that morning.
“Congratulations are in order.” Her ER doctor told her with a warm smile. Then at Kim’s look of confusion, the doctor explained. “Your HBC levels are elevated.”
“I’m sorry?” Kim asked confusedly, Her doctor’s smile broadened, “Whenever someone comes into the ED we do a general work-up. It’s standard procedure, but your HBC levels are slightly elevated. It means your pregnant Ms. Burgess.”
“I-what? Pregnant? Are you sure? Because I’m on birth control and besides I haven’t had sex in…” Kim trailed off. She was about to say she hadn’t had sex in months. Not since Matt...but that wasn’t true.
She had slept with Jay four weeks ago. She met the doctor’s now slightly concerned stare again. “Are you sure?”
The other woman nodded, “Yes. These tests are fairly accurate. By your levels, I’d say, you’re-” she glanced back down at Kim’s chart, “-Four weeks along?”
Kim’s hand fell to her stomach subconsciously. She knew that if she was pregnant, who the father would be. She had only slept with one guy recently. She was carrying a Baby Halstead.
Their case had somehow turned into a SA  case before she could even leave the hospital. A girl had been held in a storm cellar for four years. She had been seventeen when she was taken. She got a call that Hailey would meet her at the hospital because they needed to interview the victim that had been taken to Med.
“You okay?” Hailey asked when Kim found her. Kim nodded, but the other woman stared at her, looking unsure. “You sure? You look like you’ve seen a ghost.”
She hadn’t. Instead, she had seen the opposite of a ghost, but she guessed the expressions looked the same.
“Yeah,” she nodded. Then again more firmly, “Yeah, I’m good. What do we got? Kev just said it was a SA case now.”
“And a kidnapping. Vic was seventeen when she was taken.” Hailey explained as they walked to the victim’s hospital room. And it gets worse, we also have a missing four-year-old too. And the kid needs insulin every few hours or he goes into shock. Our offender, also the dad, didn’t take it when he left with the boy.”
Kim shook her head, trying to get a grip on this case as well as dealing with being pregnant. She always wanted kids, to be a mother someday. When she had been engaged to Adam, they had always…And now was not the time to have that thought with Ruzek’s current girlfriend standing right next to her. The point was, yeah. She wanted kids, but she never pictured it like this.
Kim bit her lip as her eyes followed Jay as he made his way out of the bullpen that night. It had been weighing on her mind since she found out this morning. She was about four weeks pregnant...with baby Halstead. And she needed to tell the father.
“Hey!” Kim called after she stood and hurried after him because if she didn’t do it now, she’d chicken out later, “Jay! Wait up!”
It was better just to rip the bandaid off.
“Hey, can I talk to you? In private? It’s important.” She told him when she reached the bottom step of the stairs. He nodded in the direction of the parking lot. “Walk with me to my car?”
Rip the bandaid off. Rip the bandaid off. Rip the bandaid off. She repeated the mantra in her head as she followed him to his truck.
“You okay? You’re being a little quiet.” Kim looked up to see the detective eyeing her. She swallowed the nerves that appeared in her throat...Or was that nausea? Did morning sickness start this early in the pregnancy? She needed to buy one of those books now.
“Kim?”
“I’m pregnant.” She blurted out before she winced at her ungraceful delivery of the news. At least she had ripped the bandaid off. Kim shook her head at herself and then continued, not daring to look up at Jay and see his reaction. Instead, she chose to look at her shoes.
“They told me today at the hospital. When I was getting my stitches done after my run-in with the fence, they did a standard blood workup and my HBC levels whatever those mean, came back elevated, and with how elevated they estimated around four weeks-”
“Which would make them mine.” Jay finished her ramble softly because it had been four weeks since they slept together. Now she looked up at him, at his face. To his credit, she couldn’t see a negative reaction in his face.  Not even a whisper of one. Instead, his blue eyes (would their child have his blue eyes or her brown ones) were thoughtful as he processed the information.
“Yeah,” Kim nodded, answering in a quiet voice, even though he hadn’t asked a question.
“Are you keeping them?”
Kim nodded. Though she might have had some lingering doubts before, the case today with Claire and Henry. Seeing how that mother and son had interacted solidified her decision. “Yeah. Yes, I am.”
“Then do you want to go somewhere and talk? About how we’re going to do this?”
Kim felt the tension release from her shoulders. She knew Jay was a good guy. The type of guy who would take responsibility and step up. The kind of guy that wouldn’t let her do this by herself, especially with this baby being his. But there was a difference between knowing that and hearing that she wasn’t going to be on her own were two different things.
“You could drive me home? I carpooled with Upton and Rojas today. And we could order dinner?” She offered and he nodded.
“Okay just let me go clock out and let them know while I’m in there.”
“Do you want a beer? Water? Or something else? I think I have some kind of soda?” She offered when they reached her apartment. Jay walked in behind her, setting their greasy takeout food from the burger place they had stopped at, on her kitchen table.
“Sure,” Jay said, accepting the plates she was giving him. He separated their food while she went to her fridge.
“So,” she said as she came back with two bottles in her hands, one a plastic water bottle and one a glass beer bottle. She handed him the beer before she took a seat across from him. “I’m not actually sure where to go from here. I know you said you wanted to be involved, but I’m not expecting-”
“Kim, I’m going to stop you right there. I don’t want an out with this. It took both of us to make that baby. We both chose to sleep together that night, so we’re in this together. Everything that comes with it. Doctor appointments, getting the nursery ready, 3 am calls where you call me because you have cravings, those stupid classes that teach you how to breathe if you want to take them…all of it.”
“…We won’t be able to hear the heartbeat until the next appointment at the earliest,” Jay said, reading information about her first official appointment on his phone. Kim blinked, she didn’t know where or why that day had resurfaced.
“Yeah, that's not till the next appointment at twelve weeks. This appointment is to just basically make sure that the baby is healthy and safe, growing at the rate they should be, and to talk about our family’s health histories and they address any concerns we have.” Kim explained, remembering what she had read last night in her new book about pregnancy and babies.
She had put off reading for the last two weeks, yet when the appointment reminder popped up on her phone yesterday, she realized she didn’t know what she was walking into. She absolutely hated not feeling prepared. It was like walking into a suspect’s house without knowing what to expect.
“You didn’t have to come you know. It’s not like it’s a huge appointment.” Kim told them nonchalantly as she began to flick through a magazine before she abandoned it in favor of playing a game on her phone.
“Every appointment Kim. No matter how big or small.” He told her, staring at the pictures of babies, “Because we’re-”
“-In this together. You know, you’re going to sound like a broken record by the time this whole pregnancy is over with.”
Soon Kim’s name was called and they were ushered back into a room. They didn’t even see her OB for this appointment. A technician conducted the ultrasound. The baby as expected was growing and progressing right on schedule.
“We’ll see you for the next appointment.” The tech said as she smiled, handing Kim a set of pictures, “Six weeks from today you can schedule it with the woman at the front desk.”
“So Burgess, what is up with you and Halstead? I noticed you and him have been a little…closer lately. Anything you want to tell me?” Kevin pointed at her with his fork. Kim rolled her eyes at her best friend’s roundabout way of asking if she and Jay were dating, without actually asking.
It was her and Kevin’s dinner that they did every month since their patrol partnership ended six years ago. Spearing her hamburger patty (Because she had entered the eighth week of her pregnancy and with that came morning sickness with a vengeance. Her baby seemed to have an aversion to bread she learned thanks to dinner with Jay at the beginning of the week) with her own fork, she popped the piece of meat into her mouth. Then she shrugged.
“Nothing to tell,” she told him and when he gave her his own eye roll, Kim laughed, “I’m serious. We’re friends. Look, with Adam and Hailey together now and you and Rojas having a vibe. We didn’t want to be third wheels. So we just started hanging out with each other.”
“Mhmm and are you and your friend participating in some friendlier extracurriculars?” Kevin smirked. Kim felt her cheeks burn at the question. “No,”
And that was the truth. Besides that one night of comfort, that had resulted in a baby there was nothing between them like what Kevin was implying.
The next day at work, when she and Jay were on their way to interview a witness, she made an appointment with her doctor to see if they had anything that could help with her nausea. The nausea had been the most violent today. Though it helped to be in the vehicle with her baby daddy, who knew about her morning sickness and kept her window cracked and passed her a water bottle after water bottle, and kept the air conditioning pressed against her to help.
Thankfully, she made it through the day without throwing up, despite the smell that wafted around the office and never left. Did someone order a fish sandwich with pickles...and was that mustard? Or tabasco sauce?
At the end of the day, Kim waved to Platt as she started to walk out with Jay and Hailey when the desk sergeant called her back.
“What’s up?”
“Internet said it was an appropriate gift,” Platt said as she pulled a mug with the words: MOM COP with the CPD symbol painted on it in a pretty soft blue color.
Kim’s eyes widened when she saw it. They weren’t telling anyone yet. How did the desk sergeant of their district know? Kim reached for it quickly, hiding it under her jacket.
“How’d you know?” She asked.
“I’ve been a cop for a long time,” the older woman’s answer was soft, “Plus, I overheard you and Halstead talking the other day.”
“Am I crazy?” Kim asked.
“Maybe. But some of the best things in life start as crazy... So go with your gut Burgess.” Platt’s lips twitched upward, “And I’ll deny I ever said this if you tell him, but Halstead is one of the good ones.”
Then she patted Kim’s shoulder and walked away. Kim stared after Platt, the woman who had been and continued to be her mentor since she stepped foot in the 21st. Then she turned and made her way back up to the Intelligence bullpen. She had some news she needed to share with Voight.
“Sarge?” Kim knocked on the door frame of Voight’s office. Voight looked up surprised to see his officer there.
“Burgess? I thought you had gone home for the night.”
“I did, but I…” Kim broke off and sighed heavily. She knew that there was a chance that this would change things for her here in Intelligence. That she could even lose her spot up here, but that didn’t matter anymore because it wasn’t just here she had to think about anymore. “Can I talk to you about something? It’s important.” Hank waved a hand in her direction and Kim knew that was her queue to go ahead.
“I’m pregnant. About eight weeks along and I understand. I understand that my place here will possibly change in Intelligence. But I just...I had to tell you.” She hurried out in a rush. She didn’t know what she expected from her Sargent. A few questions maybe. Some paperwork needed to be filled out. But she wasn’t expecting Hank to get up, make the way around his desk, or for his arms to encircle her into an embrace.
“Kim, I’m so happy for you.” His voice was warm and it brought a smile to Kim’s lips. Only for it to drop a minute later when he brought up how excited Adam must be. Then it hit her. Sergeant Voight thought Adam was the father and if Voight thought so, everyone else would too.
“Sarge, no. It’s not Adam’s. He and Hailey are still together. It’s uh...Jay’s actually.”
Voight pulled back some to look at her. His gaze was sharp as he licked his lips.  He finally asked in a fairly soft voice, “Does he know?”
Kim nodded. “He does. He wanted to be here with me when I told you but he didn’t know I was going to tell you tonight….I didn’t know I was going to tell you until Platt gave me this gift.” She held up the coffee cup for her Sargent to see. It was a simple gift but it had reshifted and refocused Kim’s world.
She was going to be someone’s mother.
Hank nodded, that quiet look on his face he got when he was trying to retrace a criminal’s steps.
“Okay, we’ll talk about this more tomorrow. It’s late. Go home, Kim. Get some sleep,” he said finally. His tone of voice was clear. It was an order from a sergeant to his officer. She nodded, “Yes Sarge.”
“Burgess, Halstead. My office,” Everyone looked up at the sound of Voight’s voice, the next day looking confused. Everyone except the two people he was calling for. The unlikely duo made their way into the office as Hank shut the door behind him.
“I’m going to be brief, but the first thing I want to know is why you didn’t disclose your relationship when it got serious because I would think out of the two of you and your history with me, you would know that I like to have all the facts.”
“Sarge-” they both started to speak at the same time before they glanced at each other and Kim ended up finishing her thought first. She shook her head, “Sarge, it’s not like that for us.”
Nodding Jay agreed with her before he gestured to Kim’s stomach. “Yeah, it’s like Kim said. It’s not like that. They were just a surprise that came after a day of too many close calls and needing some comfort that we found in each other.”
Voight asked another question, but the officer couldn’t hear anything her sergeant or her partner said because that horrid smell from yesterday was back and it made her stomach roll violently.
“Burgess?” Hank asked concerned as he watched the woman wrap her arms around her stomach and put her head in between her knees. Jay turned, looking too, and had started to rub a hand up and down her back because he knew what was probably happening.
“Yeah, yeah. I’m good sarge. Just a little morning sickness nausea.” Kim finally managed to reassure him with a shaky thumbs up. But that wasn’t the wisest choice because as soon as the words came out of her mouth, her stomach gave another turbulent roll and she jumped up, giving in to the urge to run to the bathroom.
“Excuse me,” she thought she said the words, but she couldn’t be sure as she turned. The door was yanked open before Kim tore through the bullpen, ignoring the alarmed calls of her team.
Reaching the bathroom, she skidded to a stop on her knees in front of the porcelain bowl just before she coughed up the contents of her breakfast that morning. A second behind her, Jay dropped to his knees just at her back. He grabbed her hair pulling it back, so it wasn’t dangling in her face as he rubbed her back again.
“Okay?” Jay asked when he didn’t hear heaving anymore. Kim coughed and nodded, “I think so. For right now at least.”
So Jay stood and grabbed some paper towels as he ran them under the faucet and handed them to her. Then he waited while she wiped her face and pulled her to her feet.
“Still okay?” He asked. When she nodded, he continued, “I don’t think you heard him but Voight said he’s switching up partners again. He also asked if you wanted to be detailed to light duty early. I answered that for you. Hope you don’t mind.”
“As long as you said no,” Kim mumbled, her baby daddy nodded to her relief. “I said you didn’t want to be out until you absolutely had to be. He also said it’s up to us as to when we wanted to tell the team.”
“I’ll leave that up to you since I told Voight without you. If you don’t want to tell them today though, I hope you have a reason you followed me, besides you know, the truth.”
“We can tell them. Besides, they’ll want to know why you’re moving to light duty in two weeks.”
Kim blinked at him. There was no way…she was that close to moving to light duty. Though, looking down at her stomach, Kim knew it had to be true. Morning sickness didn’t start until she was at least eight weeks along, according to her book.
“Is it going to be that bad every time?”  Kim asked quietly as Jay continued to rub her back. He was still rubbing her back as they walked back to the bullpen. Kim shook her head as she told him quietly, “That was just as rough as when we figured out your child doesn’t like bread and I have to deal with that till the end of the second trimester? Can I go on a liquid diet then?”
“I don’t think that’ll help. You’ll still throw up. You just won’t taste everything you eat.” He laughed, just as quietly. Then his hand stopped its gentle movements on her back completely and she looked up to see the unit plus Voight staring at them.
“Everything alright, Kim?” Kevin asked. Before she answered, the brunette glanced up at Jay, who nodded.
“Yeah, Kev. Just some slight morning sickness,” she told him sheepishly. Everyone glanced at each other. Then it was Hailey who asked, “Wait. Morning sickness? So that means you’re pregnant?”
“About eight weeks along,” Kim nodded with an unconscious hand lifting to her flat stomach.
“Hold up. Hold up. Is this why you ordered a burger without the bun on Saturday?” Kevin asked. Kim shrugged at her former partner, “They don’t like bread right now. I’m hoping they’ll get over it soon.”
“And how does Jay fit into this?” Adam asked from where he sat at his desk. Jay gave a slight smirk as he explained in a sarcastic tone, “Well Ruz, it kind of makes two people to make a baby.”
“Wait so you two…” Rojas trailed off as she dragged a finger between the two of them. Kim shrugged, “We’re not together but it was one night. The night after we closed the infection case.”
Rojas whistled, “Damn. Y'all weren’t kidding when you said this unit is close.”
Then there was a beat of silence while Hank stepped away to take a call. Another look was shared between the team. Then their unit was rushing forward. Hailey and Vanessa wrapped Kim in one hug while Kevin patted Jay on the back. Then her former partner wrapped her in a tight bear hug. It was only when Kevin had pulled away and the other two girls had Jay’s attention that Adam pulled her into a hug of his own.
“Congratulations,” he told her quietly, sincerely. Then he squeezed her again, “Are you happy?”
“It’s not quite how I planned on becoming a mother. But yeah, yeah I am.” She told the man, who in another life could’ve been the father of her children. Had she actually kept the ring, but Adam wasn’t ready for that kind of commitment and that was okay.
She wasn’t meant for Adam but maybe Hailey Upton would be the one for him instead.
“Good. That’s all I want for you Kim.” He let go of her, squeezing her hand. Then he moved to Jay, boasting loudly.
“Okay, we can continue the celebration later. Right now we have a case and given the circumstances, I’m reassigning partners. But temporarily? Atwater and Burgess, Rojas and Ruzek, and Upton and Halstead. I'll reassess later but right now we need to move.”

That time they (sorta) got along
Show based-a moment in which Virgil isn’t trying to kill Andros.
Virgil thought he had found a secluded area of the park. Currently he was sitting on a bench, awkwardly trying to doctor and bandage his arm with a first aid kid he’d swiped. In spite of the supposed circuits within, he had a very real wound on his shoulder.
“You’re doing it wrong.” That was Andros, who walked over from the side. His gaze and stance was somewhat cautious, but there was a slight tinge of concern in his eyes.
“What the-” Virgil glared over at Andros. “Get out of here before I destroy you. I’m not in the mood to deal with you right now.”
Andros folded his arms. “Isn’t your sole purpose to destroy me?”
Virgil glared at him before awkwardly trying to bandage his shoulder again. “Damn it!”
“I told you, you’re doing it wrong.” Andros walked over and took both bandages and antiseptic from him and sat down. “Just sit still.”
“I don’t need your help, ranger! I’m doing just fine by myself!” He tried to wrestle the items back, but Andros had actually managed a firm grip.
“You’ve been trying for the last half hour-I’ve been watching.” Andros’ lip twitched in laughter before he started tending to Virgil’s wound. “Now try to sit still for once, and try not to kill me till after it’s over.”
“Shut up you stupid-damn it!”
“Yeah, this stuff usually stings.” Andros didn’t sound at all sorry about that, though. “But hey, it’s probably no worse than getting blasted, right?” He sounded almost cheerful.
“Ranger, I swear to Dark Specter, when I get my hands on you-” Virgil started.
“So what’s stopping you?” Andros was about halfway through bandaging Virgil’s shoulder. “Even injured, you’re stronger than me. You probably could’ve killed me at least three times since this conversation started, but you haven’t yet.”
Virgil glared at him, then huffed. “Not in the mood.”
“You know, we don’t have to fight. We could be-”
“What, friends? With you?” Virgil snorted as Andros finished bandaging his shoulder. “Have you forgotten that your sister programmed me to destroy you?”
“My-how did you know about that?” Andros honestly hadn’t thought the psychos knew Astronema’s true identity-they were far more concerned with ranger destruction, after all.
“Ecliptor talks too much.” Virgil stood up, brushed himself off, and put his leather jacket, which he’d taken off temporarily, back on. “She just can’t program us to get along.”
“Get along...did Psycho Black do that to you?” Andros’ face softened slightly. “You can’t just-”
“Time for me to go, ranger. I suppose I’ll just say I didn’t find you today. Or that you tricked me. Either way, I’ll let you live.”
“You know, a thank you would suffice.”
“Not a chance.” Virgil gave Andros a final smirk before zooming off.

Oblivion
NINETEEN
In all my life I have not felt as happy as I do now. With my arm around her, we walk along the lake. The weather is still lovely, but all I can focus on is her. I can smell a whiff of her perfume now that she's so close, her warm body against me is enchanting me. If this is the outcome of all the years of pain, sadness, fear and loneliness, I would do it all over again in the blink of an eye. She teaches me how to live in the now, not to worry about tomorrow. Although that was very different not so long ago, for both of us.
As our walk heads toward the landing pier, she breaks away from me. She looks at me provocatively and playfully. "Let's take a swim?". Overwhelmed by the suggestion, that would never have occurred to me in my life, I stutter out a few questions. To which she cheerfully without shame suggests going skinnydipping. Before I can say anything else, she is completely undressed and jumps into the water. I pick her clothes off the ground, fold them and put them in a neat pile next to me as I sit down at the end of the pier.
I would gladly have joined her, if I could swim. When she emerges from the water, I can do nothing but smile. But that smile quickly fades when I think about how she doesn't know I can't swim and all the other things she doesn't know about me yet. It's not that I want to keep things a secret, I just don't know how to tell her about my other reasons why I wanted to go to Duskwood. And certainly not now.
Her doctor has worked miracles. From the dull woman she was made into by the bastards, she's become the real self again in days. The twinkle in her eyes when I told her about my motorcycle, almost my second love. The clever puzzler she is, when we stepped out of the motel today, and she immediately realized that this was my last known hideout. The spontaneous action to go swimming naked. That's the woman I fell in love with, the crazy, spontaneous and confident woman. And I don't want to ruin that now, not now that she's finally found herself again.
My thoughts are interrupted when I hear someone approaching the pier. I immediately get up to see who it is, after all my girl is naked in the lake. A man in his late fifties comes up to me in a ranger outfit. I don't like his whole demeanor, but I'll be polite for now. "Young man, it is forbidden to swim in this lake." he tries to radiate his authority. He failed completely. "Yup, I know. Back in the day, you rangers used to come to ruin our Sundays." I smile at him fake friendly. "Oh so you're familiar with the area?" he asks semi interested, because he is constantly looking towards the water. "Yes, I lived here until my teenage years." I step aside to block his view and draw his attention to me. He pays little attention to me and leans to the side and yells at Layana that she has to get out of the water because it is forbidden to swim in the lake.
Just before she wants to get out of the water, onto the pier, I see the realization on her face that she is still naked. She politely asks the man to turn around. Only he refuses, with a misplaced joke. I feel my blood starting to boil "Sir, I would do as she says" I threaten. With a smug look on his face he looks at me "Is that a threat?". I clench my jaw and my fists "You bet it is!". If he hadn't chosen to turn around, I would have slammed his eyes shut, so he couldn't look at anything anymore. "Filthy creep, I know your face now. I would watch your back if you know whats good for you. One wrong look at her and I'll put you behind bars for a long, long time." I whisper to him.
I see the man stiffen a bit, then he walks away and quickly shouts another warning about swimming, then disappears from view. When Layana has dressed quickly, we walk back to the motel together. She didn't notice, and laughed hard at the mischief she'd been up to. Which lowered my anger, and laughed with her.

So, as far as my art goes, a few of you may have noticed the Omega Ruby au I've posted about a few times, but I guess I've never really explained it in much detail. SO LETS CHANGE THAT!
~ Tams silly little Omega Ruby au ~
The au itself is comprised a bunch of personal headcanons, ocs, and a desire for a slightly darker pokemon game that focus more on, who I deem, the more important characters in the story. Will I ever do anything with this au concept? Maybe? Maybe not. Maybe a webcomic, but I don't exactuly have the best track record, which is why this post now exists.
Tumblr media
As far as 'important characters' go, these are the 6 I wanna talk a lil bit about, the 6 that I suppose matter the most in terms of storyline (there should be 7, but the rival character has yet to exist beyond a small in mind concept)
Tumblr media
Firstly, Alex. The main protagonist? Character? Focus? Of the story. She is basically the May/Brendan replacement for the plot (though May and Brendan do exist, explanation in a bit). Shes 16 during most of the plot, and comes from Shinno. She got caught up in the team Magma shenanigans and ends up chasing them (which she defo later regrets). She ends up being very close with Archie, after everything that happens with Groudon and Maxie, and, you know, everyone deserves a father figure
Next is Lilo (17 yo), Alexs travelling companion and friend. They don't get so involved with everything happening with team Magma, rather acting as a lifeline for Alex where she nearly dies every other day. They grew up in Hoenn, so help Alex find her way around, whilst chasing their own goals of wanting to be a pokemon ranger and doctor.
Tumblr media
Whos this next person, you might ask. That would be May...or at least...and older, adult May. In this au, she completed her journey a few years prior and is now the standing champion of Hoenn. She herself didn't get caught up in the main fray of what happened, though she did have to stop the two teams fighting a few times, even when she was still on her own journey. Steven is her mentor still, and helps her look after the league and Hoenn (The league is a form of authority for the region, so people depend on them alot for support and protection)
Steven Stone, former (ha) champion, though he still plays a large role in the league and Hoenn itself. He focus' alot more on hos research and helps with his father buisness that also plays a large role in the league now as well. (He gets punched at some point)
Tumblr media
Now, Archie and Maxie I will through into one explanation, as they kinda link together and...if I talk about them separately I will not shut up. They are the main reason behind my idea for the au tbh, as they play a much larger role in the story overall. Team Magma and Aqua will appear, not only sooner, but more frequently during the overall plot, being more of a nuisance to Hoenn. I wanna explore their relationships more, and show the diwnfalls in not listening to research, and how that can very much corrupt a plan. Obviously, as an Omega Ruby au, Team Magma are the'villians', whilst Aqua is the support, though they will be alot more supportive than the games, actually taking the time to bond with the heros and help them out during the course of the events. I say villians loosely, as, neither team are inherently evil, they have good intentions, but go about it in the wrong way (which we see in the recebt pokemon master update WHICH I LOVED!!)
Annyywayyyyy, I think thats about...the basis of this au. I've been meaning to talk about it for a while, and I guess I just finally got around to drawing these characters and talking about them a little. I will defo try to post more things in the furture about this au, but in the meantime, feel free to ask any questions you might have, and I'll try to answer them!

[A few-days trip from OSHA, hidden underground, is a laboratory. Miles away from civilization and buried in a prairie so strangely deserted and desolate that you wouldn't want to stop there if your car was immobile.]
[Inside, four scientists tinker with the shell of a robot, wearing welding masks and heavy-duty gloves.]
We shouldn't have sent Bobit to OSHA alone, [laments a short-haired woman looking at the robots insides.]
I get why we didn't, though. [The youngest of the four watches intently, not yet experienced enough to join in.] With all that SHF crap. I heard you guys kidnapped their people.
Gregory, [the short-haired woman warns.]
Let him talk, Acosta. He's not wrong. [Helping Acosta is the second-oldest of the team, gray hair streaked with ginger, lighter than it should be at this age.] It's good he knows what happened. What we did at the SHF.
But, Ranger, Shin might-
[As Acosta turns to the back of the room, the aforementioned Shin rises from where he browses through a computer. His face is unmasked, marked with age and stress.]
Shin's a grown-ass man who can handle his own problems. [He strides over.]
[Gregory's shoulders rise.] Dr. Shin, I-
You're jumpy, kid. Calm down. Acosta is right, though, I'd rather not talk about the SHF on company time. Or sober.
[Ranger snorts.] I ought to take you for a drink after all this, then, Doctor.
Well, perhaps I can-
Don't flirt on company time, either, [Acosta groans, gesturing to Gregory.] For the love of all Gods, think about the children.
I'm 24.
Think about the 24-year-old.
Right. [Shin has the decency to look a little sheepish, but he is happy the subject has changed.] So, we need to talk.
Shoot.
I think we need to take our focus off finding Bobit, and put our sights on coding its next iteration.
[Gregory's head shoots up in indignation.] Dr. Shin-
I know. I know. [He sighs.] But with all the damage Bobit took before it shut down, and perhaps even more that it didn't report, I'm not sure what there is to retrieve. I'm sorry, Gregory. I know you wanted Bobit to succeed more than any of us.
[Ranger places a hand on Gregory's shoulder.] We have a backup of Bobit's programming, don't we? We can just rework that.
We can make a new design, too. Something less clunky.
[Gregory sighs.] Hold on. MOTHERBOARD?
[There's a soft beep in response. MOTHERBOARD, busy in OSHA, doesn't speak.]
MOTHERBOARD, how about you help us?

hey reblog this post and tell me what your special corner of Doctor Who is. it’s always fascinating to hear the what aspects people latch onto, whether it’s an era or a character or a ship or a theme or a book range or whatever. I like how the vastness of the franchise allows people with totally different tastes to focus on entirely unrelated elements and still find joy in the show :)

Do you think you would've enjoyed showa had you seen it when YOU were a kid?
possibly actually. when i was a kid i was fascinated with like, finding big legacies behind the shows i watched -- i was a big fan of doctor who for instance and could not get enough of finding out information about the reams of episodes that happened before 2005. i think especially bc power rangers was a thing i watched episodes of back then finding something like stronger or skyrider would make me go nuts. i would probably never shut up about shadow moon

Two Sides to a Rider Kick (a poem)
Tumblr media
Context
I wrote this poem in 2018 for someone I knew in high school who I've never wanted to Rider Kick so hard because I liked and hated her so much. Of course it's a "her", I spoiled the context for you right here.
This poem was meant to be split across two columns for simultaneous reading, however this post only has it as one.
This is just an edgelord poem, so don't take it seriously.
Her POV
He Rider Kicked me today.
And in that moment, I could feel his sadness, his sorrow, his rage, his anger, and his resentment pierce through my heart.
Or at least I would have, if only I could understand what he was really feeling.
I wonder why he did it? Was it out of jealousy? Was it a prank gone too far? Or was there some kind of secret hatred that I didn't know about?
I feel kind of sorry for him, to be honest. Everyone knows he has a thing for me, but I'm too scared to say anything to him in case he takes it the wrong way.
One Valentine's Day, I got a letter from him. I was astonished that he took the time to write that, considering how long it was.
The next day, he sent me a message on Facebook asking me if I got it. I didn't know how to respond to that, so I asked my cousin to do it for me. Either I just so happened to be visiting him or he just so happened to visit me.
Guess what happened after that? He called me a fucking bitch.
Yeah, so what? I don't care. Why would I want to go out with an idiot like you? I've never seen you hang out with me or my friends. All you ever do is drift around doing "mainies" while imitating poses from "Kamen Rider" or "Super Sentai" or "Power Rangers" or some shit. Yeah, I know, a friend told me.
It's been a while since then. I've been used to all his Japanese samurai bullshit. Every time he tries to kill me in a pretend way, I just ignore it because I'm not even surprised at this point, but sometimes I wonder if the one thing he really wants is a friend who cares.
He doesn't hesitate to do what imaginary "Kamen Rider" shit comes to him when he sees me or my friends. Wait, isn't this a kids show, like "Power Rangers"? Why does he like watching those shows? I remember that he watches Doctor Who and for a time, I remember that he liked My Little Pony; yeah, he wouldn't shut up on Facebook about Rainbow Dash or some shit.
I don't want to think about him again when we part. I won't. I know what I did and I don't care. I'll move on from all this and I won't look back at the time when this boy had such a deep crush on me. I only hope he can survive. I know he will; at least he isn't one of those creepy guys on Tinder.
I wish he knew how I felt about him. I wish I could have told him how I really felt. His image of me must have been ruined by now; I must look like a demon in heaven and an angel in hell to him.
On top of having friends who have been in relationships, I've seen and heard enough things to know what a relationship really is like. Does he really know what being in a relationship actually entails? I don't think he does.
I wouldn't have minded him being friends with me; all he had to do was ask. He likes talking and hanging out with some people he knows, but why doesn't he talk to me or my friends? Is it because he's scared of us? I wish I could say I'm sorry, but I'm worried that he might see it as me hitting on him. What if I made the first move and he rejected it because of what he thought of me?
I don't know what Japanese lines he says before he shoots or slashes. Did he learn them off those shows he watches? That's something a kid would do and not someone of his age. Sometimes, I see these slight patches of maturity over all this childishness. Maybe he's not as silly as he looks.
I know I said I'm not surprised at what he does, but sometimes the things he does annoy me when I'm trying to do something important. Look, he's a nice person and that, but even I have my limits. Given that he's somewhat mature over all this childishness, I think he understands. I can only imagine that he has his things to do as well, otherwise he wouldn't have been able to keep up with the rest of us.
But oh no, that's not what I'm thinking about. Right now, my mind is on this guy, a guy who's generally nice and mature yet rude and childish, trying to kill me. He's floating in the air like the laws of gravity don't apply to him; he's got one foot back and another right on my torso, shouting like he doesn't care.
"But hold on, isn't that violence against women?" I hear you say. Yes, you're right, it is violence against women. I don't care what reasons he has; violence against women is wrong, whether in TV or in real life. I know he's not going to kill me with that imaginary bullshit, but deep down, I think that I deserved it for emotionally torturing him like this... no, I don't deserve it; I don't love him!
A few seconds ago, as he was coming towards me, he was waving his hands around this invisible thing on his waist he calls a "belt" or "Driver", saying some random Japanese shit as he was doing it. Then suddenly, he jumps into the air and lands a flying kick on me; something that should only be possible in the shows he watches, not in real life.
The kick took me by surprise and caused me to fall backwards onto the ground. I was scared that he would end up trampling me under his feet, but he quickly moved away before it happened. He didn't hit anything important, but the speed and force of his kick made me feel like I got run over by a car.
I thought I was going to die. I thought I was going to be in a wheelchair for a while. Luckily the floor was carpeted, but God knows what would happen if it was hard. I heard him blurt out, "Oh my God, are you alright? I'm so sorry!"
Angrily, I said the first thing that came to my mind: "What the fuck, man? You almost fucking killed me!"
And the rest is just a fantasy.
His POV
I Rider Kicked her today.
And in that moment, I felt my sadness, my sorrow, my rage, my anger, and my resentment piercing through her heart.
Or at least they would have, if only she could understand how I really felt.
Why did I do it, I wonder? Was it out of jealousy? Was it a prank gone too far? Or was there some kind of secret hatred that she didn't know about?
Should she feel sorry for me? I don't care. Everyone knows I have a thing for her, but nothing really came out of it, so it's a dead meme now.
One Valentine's Day, I sent her a letter. Writing it absolutely made me want to kill myself from the cringe. That's how much of an ironic meme it was.
The next day, I sent her a message on Facebook asking her if she got it. She didn't respond, but her cousin did. I'm not going to divulge the details of our conversation, but whatever he said triggered me unironically.
Guess what happened after that? I called her a fucking bitch.
Why did I do that? I sacrificed my dignity to write that letter and she had the gall to not tell me herself how she really felt. I didn't mind her rejecting me, but the fact that she got her cousin to reply instead of her showed me what a two-faced bitch she was. It's astonishing how her friends don't know this side of her.
It's been a while since then. People keep telling me that she isn't worth it and I keep reminding myself of that time and time again, but always, I find myself drawn to her. Why? What's the point in trying to get someone to notice you when she clearly isn't interested?
The voice inside me keeps telling me all these things, but I clearly don't listen time and time again. "You've never hung out with her", "You've never even talked to her", "You have unrealistic expectations", "You're gonna lose more friends before you even make any" - the kind of things only someone with so much self-doubt and self-hatred would say to themselves.
What if this continues on long after we've parted? Am I willing to sacrifice any remaining friendships I have just to chase after this one girl? Can I really keep up the fantasy that something good would happen between us? Help me, I've become self-aware!
I keep saying to myself, "Does she really know how I feel?" every once in a while to the point where my inner voice just snaps and says, "You absolute fucker, do you even know how she feels?"
It was then that it suddenly hit me; I actually felt what it was like to be on the other side of all this. It wasn't the truth straight from the horse's mouth, but it was close enough. Help me, I think I've actually developed empathy!
Every day, I see her with all her friends, male and female alike, and I felt like I never stood a chance to them. The thought of wanting to be friends with her never crossed my mind because I thought she and her friends would laugh at me. A boy with being friends with a girl he's obsessed with? Get real, like they don't know you're trying to hit on her and ask her out.
The modernisation of the Kamen Rider and Super Sentai series comes with collectables and toys designed to be used with them. These toys are also used in each series as well and they make various sounds; some are either innocuous and serious, while some are just exaggerated and silly.
Every day, I always found myself playing the hero to the villains that were her and her friends. Every gun shot, every sword slash, to me they were reminders of how much I hated them, but deep down, they were calls of help; I wanted to be friends with them, I just didn't know how because I thought that my way was better; when you've met someone for long enough, you automatically become friends with them. Boy, was I so wrong.
Sometimes, I wish she and her friends would know how I felt inside; tortured, scarred, in pain, and I wish I could inflict to them the same pain they did to me. Hold on, I'm not talking about killing them - losing them would hurt me just as much as it would hurt those around them.
"But hold on, isn't that violence against women?" I hear you say. Yes, you're right, it is violence against women, but for all I cared, she was a despicable woman who basically ripped out my heart and ate it whole in front of me. I'm not someone who would hurt a woman who was innocent or kind; oh yes, she was kind and beautiful, but that's only if you ignore what I just said about her.
I didn't know what Rider I was that day and I didn't care; all I care about was that I was transformed and that I knew the moves. As I saw her, I triggered the finisher sequence on my invisible Driver, then jumped in the air and let out a shout just as my foot landed on her - I made sure not to hit her head or her legs because I didn't want to do too much damage.
I thought my kick would go through her, but instead it caused her to fall over backwards to the ground. I quickly got away from her before I found myself standing on top of her with both my feet. Hey, at least the floor was carpeted and she doesn't explode like the monsters in the tokusatsu shows!
Suddenly, I was filled with horror and remorse; I thought that I had killed or severely injured her, something that I never wanted to happen. I said the first thing that came to my mind: "Oh my God, are you alright? I'm so sorry!"
The next thing I heard was her saying angrily to me, "What the fuck, man? You almost fucking killed me!"
And the rest is just a fantasy.

I do think there's something to be said about the fact that the two black Doctors have both overlapped with the incumbent white Doctor. Obviously Ncuti Gatwa is going to at least get to lead the show unlike Jo Martin, and I don't think in either case it's some kind of intentional slight against them, but it's just a bit. hmm.
