Episode 43: No Propellers, Nintendo & Neon Genesis

So, I was going to be clever and lead in with a Kermit the frog intro and a Fuzzy B Bear joke, but we would probably get in trouble with Henson productions and Disney. So instead, Like sands in the… nope, that’s been taken too. Like a case of athlete’s foot, it is Nerds Amalgamated, here with the latest episode for you all. We hope everyone is safe, with massive fires in Queensland and devastating storms down south, Australia is reminding us of how unpredictable it is. We wish to say thank you to all the people of the various emergency services that are out saving lives in horrendous conditions.

This episode we start with Buck and a plane without propellers, in fact it is Star Trek inspired as it utilises an ion drive. That’s right folks, a plane that is taking a page out of science-fiction. So, my fellow Nerds, once again a piece of fiction is moving to the non-fiction section of the library, whoop whoop! Buck and the Professor are both excited about this one, and at some point the DJ gets beamed up by Scotty because he fries the Dilithium Crystals. Aww, for goodness sake man, we canna take much more of this…

While the DJ disappears Buck and the Professor talk about Nintendo closing the Nintendo Creators Program. That’s right, people who show video’s containing images of any games etc have had to submit it to the NCP for authorisation. Out of curiosity am I the only one thinking NCP sounds like OCP from Robocop? My goodness, Nintendo are going to give us Robocop in the future!!! I’ll buy that for a dollar.

The DJ returns to tell us about how Neon Genesis is coming to Netflix, and some other items that are going to be live action remakes. Let’s hope they don’t screw these up like they did with Deathnote and Full Metal Alchemist. Rest assured though, if they do screw it up we will tell you about it and make more terrible puns. From The Daily Wire: Just as he did after President Donald Trump’s trip to Europe, former President Barack Obama will make a tour of Asia, weeks after Trump returned from his first official state visit abroad to Japan and China.

The “shadow president,” apparently concerned that his successor will somehow make the results of Obama-era foreign policy worse, will visit China’s president and make an extra stop in India, potentially as a way of countering any Trump-related damage there (First Daughter Ivanka is in India this week promoting educational initiatives for girls).

Per The Hill, Obama is undertaking the trip as part of his “Obama Foundation kickoff tour,” and he’ll spend a few days in Shanghai where he’ll meet with President Xi Jinping before jetting to New Dehli and then to Paris, where he’ll meet with French officials.

The trip is probably not a coincidence. Shortly after Donald Trump made his first trip abroad as president, visiting Italy and France as well as several other nations, Obama just happened to schedule follow up trips where he visited many of the same nations and dined privately with leaders who’d spoken to Trump just days before.

Now, after Trump’s objectively successful trip to Asia, Obama has scheduled his own, and will visit China, where Trump and his family were well received and where the administration was able to smooth over several economic issues, and to India, where Trump’s daughter is making inroads with the populist government.

Although the former president promised to stay out of the limelight, he’s been deeply involved in policy issues designed to counter Donald Trump’s White House initiatives.

Shadow President?

After leaving the White House in January 2017, Barack Obama and his family set out to do what all newly retired presidents have done—go back home, or find a new one. In Obama’s case, though, the new residence is in Washington, D.C. At first, the Obamas presented their choice as temporary—they wanted to let their younger daughter, Sasha, finish high school in Washington, they said—but their purchase of an 8,200-square-foot, $8 million mansion suggests a permanent stay. Obama’s postpresidency is thus shaping up to be virtually unique in American history: rather than departing Washington, he is planting his flag there, establishing, in effect, a shadow presidency.

Obama’s move breaks with long-standing precedent. Conscious of threats to the safe transfer of executive power in the young republic, America’s early presidents departed Washington on the expiration of their terms. After relinquishing his commission as general following victory over the British, George Washington was compared with Cincinnatus, the retired Roman general who assumed emergency powers, saved Rome, and then returned to his plow. Washington repeated his valiant act when he declined a third term as president—Garry Wills calls him a “virtuoso of resignations”—and set the standard for future executives by going home when his political work was done.

The American ideal of a president is essentially republican: a citizen steps forward to serve the government and returns to private life when his term is up. Washington’s diaries and correspondence of 1797 are consumed with matters of housekeeping, husbandry, and accounts. Mount Vernon had gone to seed, and Washington was forced to shore up his personal finances. Though he stayed abreast of national events and voiced his opinions to his associates, he stayed out of the affairs of government; keeping a safe physical distance from the capital reinforced that resolution.

Following Washington’s model, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, and James Monroe each returned to their farms, in varying degrees of insolvency. True, John Quincy Adams, finding retirement dull, soon returned to public service as a congressman, a role he embraced and thrived in, but his ambitions were not imperial. Andrew Jackson and Martin Van Buren went home, too, when their terms in the White House were finished.

Obama to meet world leaders in India and China weeks after Trump’s visit

Former US President Barack Obama is planning on meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during an upcoming visit to the two countries where he is scheduled to speak at various summits.

Mr Obama is scheduled to first make a stop in China, and then India, before flying to Paris, a spokesperson for the former president told The Hill.

The overseas trip was first reported by the Times of India last week, which noted that Mr Obama will be attending an Obama Foundation event in December.

The forty-fourth president’s trip to India will come on the heels of first daughter Ivanka Trump’s visit to the same country. President Donald Trump recently finished a five-nation tour of Asia, when he met both Mr Xi and Mr Modi. Ms Trump, who is also a White House adviser, recently met with Mr Modi during during her trip at the eight Global Entrepreneurship Summit in Hyderabad.

“It was an honour to meet with you Prime Minister Modi. Thank you for co-hosting the 8th annual Global Entrepreneurship Summit!” Ms Trump wrote on Twitter after the summit, where she had spoken about women entrepreneurs.

Since leaving the White House earlier this year, Mr Obama has broken from recent tradition for outgoing presidents to wade into political debates facing the nation.

La guerre, les épidémies et le terrorisme sont omniprésents, et la société sombre de plus en plus dans l’anarchie. Ce sombre portrait du futur que dresse le réalisateur Alfonso Cuarón m’a beaucoup touché et bouleversé puisque le film est très réaliste, ce qui le rend d’autant plus effrayant. À voir!

John Argyropoulos - Wikipedia

John Argyropoulos (Greek: Ἰωάννης Ἀργυρόπουλος Ioannis Argiropoulos, Italian: Giovanni Argiropulo, surname also spelt Argyropulus, or Argyropulos, or Argyropulo; c. 1415 – 26 June 1487) was a lecturer, philosopher and humanist, one of the émigré Greek scholars who pioneered the revival of Classical learning in 15th-century Italy.[7] He translated Greek philosophical and theological works into Latin besides producing rhetorical and theological works of his own. He was in Italy for the Council of Florence during 1439–1444, and returned to Italy following the fall of Constantinople, teaching in Padua, Florence and Rome from 1456 until his death.

Biography[edit]

John Argyropoulos was born in c. 1415, in Constantinople. He was Greek.[8]

Argyropoulos studied theology and philosophy in Constantinople. As a teacher there he had amongst his pupils the scholar Constantine Lascaris. He was an official in the service of one of the rulers of the Byzantine Morea and in 1439 was a member of the Byzantine delegation to the Council of Florence, when they accepted Catholicism and abjured Greek Orthodoxy.[9] In 1443/4, he received a Doctor of Theology degree from the University of Padua[10] before returning to Constantinople.[11]

When Constantinople fell in 1453, he left it for the Peloponnesus and in 1456, took refuge in Italy, where he worked as a teacher in the revival of Greek philosophy in the universities of Padua, Florence and Rome and as head of the Greek department at Florence’s ‘Florentine Studium’ university.[12] In 1471, on the outbreak of the plague, he moved to Rome, where he continued to act as a teacher of Greek till his death.

He made efforts to transport Greek philosophy to Western Europe. He left a number of Latin translations, including many of Aristotle's works. His principal works were translations of the following portions of Aristotle, Categoriae, De Interpretatione, Analytica Posteriora, Physica, De Caelo, De Anima, Metaphysica, Ethica Nicomachea, Politica; and an Expositio Ethicorum Aristotelis. Several of his writings exist still in manuscript.[13] His students included Pietro de' Medici and Lorenzo de' Medici, Angelo Poliziano and Johann Reuchlin, and possibly Leonardo da Vinci.[14]

He died on June 26, 1487 in Florence, supposedly of consuming too much watermelon.[15]

I talked about the set up of Mark Baker by the Corpus Christi Police Department for the murder of Sam Moore.

In short- the case made statewide attention- at the time the local media questioned how this could happen.

An out of towner- Sam Moore- tried to rob a local.

The local man stabbed and killed Moore in self defense.

Yet- for some reason the local Police identified Mark Baker - a friend of mine who you can see/hear on the video titled ‘friends’.

More than likely the Corpus Police set Mark up- because some local cop had a long time grudge against Mark.

I knew this at the time- but till this day the Police have hid this.

The only reason the set up did not work was because the real killer walked into P.D. and confessed- which did not make them happy at all.

Mark was released- the local man was never indicted.

I met the man who did the stabbing a few years ago- Huey asked me if I would talk to him- pray for him.

I told Huey ‘sure’.

Thankfully my street friends have more integrity then the Corpus Christi Police- this set up- for personal reasons in most cites is considered a high crime.

In the Corpus Christ Police department- it’s just another day on the job.

By the way- I wrote a scathing letter to chief Simpson at the time- and asked how they could do this.

To be fair- I don’t think Simpson realized the degree of corruption within the CCPD- he too was an out of towner.

I did email- correspond with chief Simpson a few times about issues like this- and he seemed to realize there was a problem.

But for the element of CCPD that would do stuff like this- they have been born and raised in Corpus- that element seems to outlast the good chiefs in the long run [All CCPD do not engage in behavior like this- but the ones who do are still on the job till this day- and they are the supervisors of the new ones coming in- that's also criminal in my view- because the rookies should be able to have a fresh start- but the hold overs are here for the long haul- and are rarely held accountable for their actions].

Mark told friends the CCPD- harassed him for about a year after the set up- this showed me that they were mad that the set up did not work- and were mad that the real killer confessed.

NEWS- note on the links- the Sam Moore/Mark Baker case probably received the most news coverage out of all the cases I have spoken about. Because it was a ‘huge manhunt’ for the killer on the lose type thing. The Only other case I talked about that possibly received the same coverage is the Rosas case [flash bomb]. Yet as I googled the Moore killing- the only links- not yet purged from google- were a facebook post- and KRIS. Because this case was openly seen as something fishy- connected people obviously did not want a public record of the case [shame on you caller times- you did cover this case- your links are no where to be found]

1Kings 8:58 That he may incline our hearts unto him, to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and his statutes, and his judgments, which he commanded our fathers.

1Kings 8:59 And let these my words, wherewith I have made supplication before the LORD, be nigh unto the LORD our God day and night, that he maintain the cause of his servant, and the cause of his people Israel at all times, as the matter shall require:

1Kings 8:60 That all the people of the earth may know that the LORD is God, and that there is none else.

1Kings 8:61 Let your heart therefore be perfect with the LORD our God, to walk in his statutes, and to keep his commandments, as at this day.

1Kings 8:62 And the king, and all Israel with him, offered sacrifice before the LORD.

1Kings 8:63 And Solomon offered a sacrifice of peace offerings, which he offered unto the LORD, two and twenty thousand oxen, and an hundred and twenty thousand sheep. So the king and all the children of Israel dedicated the house of the LORD.

1Kings 8:64 The same day did the king hallow the middle of the court that was before the house of the LORD: for there he offered burnt offerings, and meat offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings: because the brasen altar that was before the LORD was too little to receive the burnt offerings, and meat offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings.

1Kings 8:65 And at that time Solomon held a feast, and all Israel with him, a great congregation, from the entering in of Hamath unto the river of Egypt, before the LORD our God, seven days and seven days, even fourteen days.

1Kings 8:66 On the eighth day he sent the people away: and they blessed the king, and went unto their tents joyful and glad of heart for all the goodness that the LORD had done for David his servant, and for Israel his people.
