propose - rayne finally ties the knot (gn!reader)

note: kinda nervous cause i never wrote for other fandoms before

a gentle breeze lightened the warm afternoon, making it the perfect weather for a little picnic near the forest. the sweet smell of flowers plus the small birds chirping made the day relaxing for the two divine visionaries. it was a rare day off, clocking in earlier and receiving scolding's for that, rayne ames and [name][last name] wanted to spend time with each other. [name] was the one who suggested the picnic and planned a simple lunch to which rayne agreed.

you spread out the chequered blanket under the oak tree that carried memories to talk about. rayne set the basket filled with sandwiches, fruits and juice boxes down and waited for you to sit down. the spot chosen wasn’t too far away from the school which is why the duo didn’t bother changing uniforms.

rayne checked his pockets to see if he had everything he needed including a particular box tucked away from your eyes. the double liner watched you admire the oak tree protecting you from the dim sunlight, reminiscing the silly memories from small kisses to flower crowns. the oak tree had seen it all.

“i’ve been looking forward to this all day”, you cheered finally sitting down with one of rayne’s bunnies on your lap

“same here”, rayne sighed letting his other bunny chew on his uniform robe

“it feels good to relax with you”, rayne continued handing you a sandwich and purposely brushing his fingers against yours

“me too! we both needed a break! the juniors may be sweet but they can drive you crazy”, you shuddered remembering the chanting of your name during exam seasons

“it’s tough but knowing your here keeps me going”, rayne said chewing his sandwich

“i’m happy being a sort of motivation! you’re my motivation too”, you said smiling

“you’re not just my motivation”, rayne stopped eating

he placed his sandwich on his plate before locking eyes with you. you tried to read his emotions knowing how rayne isn’t that good at expressing himself but it was difficult. was it nervousness? what would he even be so nervous about?

“is everything alright?”, you asked with concern

oh how that melted the poor man’s heart. it’s the simple things that make rayne content. the way how your eyes search for any possible discomfort he felt or the way how you always put him before yourself, rayne couldn’t find the words to describe this feeling- no he concluded that no amount of words would be able to describe his burning heart

“remember how you asked me what i wanted to do with my life?”, rayne asked

“of course i do. you said you didn’t care”, you recalled

“i change my mind [name]”, rayne said and took a deep breath

“i have been thinking about this moment for a long time but i can't wait anymore. i have never been certain my whole life until i met you. you’re the opposite of me and that made me even more curious about you. i love to learn more about you [name] and i want to continue to learn more about you”, rayne said and pulled out a velvet box

“i want to be the perfect man for you. i want to be that shield to protect your smile and laugh. i want to listen to your silly theories and complaints. our souls connected by pure chance for a reason and i think i finally found that reason. there is no doubt”, rayne gently picked up the box and opened it

“[name][last name], will you marry me? i rayne ames, promise to keep you happy for the rest of your life and vow to never leave your side until my last breath”, rayne proposed

you’ve never seen rayne with such emotions before. sure you have seen him talk about a future together at your late night talks but you’d never imagine the day he’d propose to you. rayne ames, the world’s youngest divine visionary, was asking for your hand in marriage. tears pooled your eyes as your smile grew even bigger

“yes! yes a million times rayne! i would be honoured to marry you!”

your pooled tears were freely running down your cheeks. rayne slowly pulls the ring out of its velvet box and gently brings your left hand closer to him. treating your hand like glass, rayne carefully slips the ring into your finger. he kissed your hand and the rest became history

packing everything, rayne picked up the picnic basket before the both of you walked back into the school. both of you were walking back to your dorms hand in hand. it was so obvious from your gleaming behaviour that today was the best day in your life

“woah careful-”

you accidentally bumped into dot to which you quickly apologised. feeling your right hand being tugged, you looked over to see rayne signalling to continue walking with him. waving dot and the gang behind him, you left the scene with your boyf- fiance

“wait a damn minute! did you guys see that ring on [name]’s finger?”, dot question in shock

“r-really? i didn’t notice”, finn said awkwardly hiding behind lance

“no way!! [name] is engaged? oh i hope that happens to me too! right mash?”, lemon cheerfully asked the boy who looked blank

“finn, why are you so quiet huh? what do you know?”, dot pressed

that made finn spill everything. rayne had informed finn beforehand about the entire proposal plan. in fact, he even practised and helped rayne prepare a proper speech and encouraged his brother to speak from his heart. the whole gang froze for a minute before lemon began squealing and blushing about marriage

“so we gotta call [name] with rayne’s surname?”, dot asked

“[name] ames.. sounds nice”, lance repeated the name to confirm

“i’m so happy for them! i can already imagine mine! lemon burnedead- ah”

like that, lemon fell on the floor with a red face. finn panicked and rushed to the girl, fanning her and asking about her condition. all the while , mash wondered if [name] and rayne's wedding would have any cream puffs.

Your excitement was increasing with every step as you approached Easton Academy. Your dorm mate is beside you, talking about today's event. There was a duelo match at Easton and your school was playing against them. Schoolwork had kept you and Rayne from physically seeing each other, but you still found ways to communicate.

You and Rayne have been together for a little over a year now, but only a select few knew this. You both weren't ashamed of your relationship, but you agreed it was best to not announce it so loudly. You couldn't deal with people digging deep into your personal business and you knew it'd only fuel rumors and gossip since your boyfriend was from Easton. Despite your schools having history with each other, it didn't stop the two of you from falling for each other.

"I have a feeling the match is gonna go into overtime." You hear your roommate as you search for your boyfriend. You planned on sitting beside each other to watch the game.

"Yeah? You think?"

"I'm pretty sure! Both teams are at the top this season."

"You're not wrong there." It didn't matter to you who won, you were more focused on being able to hug Rayne again. A voice shouts your name and your eyes target its source. You groan at the approaching male with his friends not too far behind, your roommate cursing at his presence.

"Hey there, ___(y/n)! You ready to cheer me on?"

"Hey, Luke..." You forced out a polite smile.

"We gotta go and grab some seats. Bye!" __(r/n) links her arm with yours, attempting to pull you away from Luke and his team.

"Oh c'mon, stop cockblocking. I wanna talk to my girlfriend." Luke interferes with your escape route.

"Don't call me that. I already told you that I have a boyfriend." You glare, your patience thinning rapidly the more you are around the duelo captain.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah. You're just playing hard to get." He slips between you and __(r/n), draping his arm over your shoulders. You immediately create distance between the two of you, your eyebrows knitting together.

"No, I'm not. Just like how I've told you many, many times before, I'm happily taken."

"That's just a lie." Luke steps closer to you once again. "You're always saying that."

"And I'm going to keep saying it." You were praying that someone would just date this idiot so he'd finally leave you alone. But all the other girls knew better.

"It's just that I've never seen or heard about him before." You feel your hand being taken in his and lures you close to his body. "If you really have a boyfriend, then where is he?"

"Right here." Fingers grip tightly on Luke's wrist, granting you freedom. You automatically knew who it was because only one voice made your heart jump. You whisper his name, your blonde and black haired boyfriend now blocking Luke's view from you. Scum like him didn't deserve to lay eyes on his girlfriend.

"Hey man, let go!" Luke's shout attracts a large audience from both academies. “Who the hell are you?”

"I’m ___(y/n)’s boyfriend.”

“What? Yeah right! I’ve never seen you two together!”

“It is none of your concern whether you have seen us together or not. If she has told you that she was already dating someone, you should have ceased your annoying advances from the beginning.”

It was almost as if Ranye’s golden orbs were eerily glowing the longer he held his gaze at the duelo captain.

“Che, whatever! I ain't wasting any more time with you. I got a match to win.” Luke pulls his hand back, trying to rub the pain away without seeming affected by the Sword Cane’s strength. Rayne ignores his comment, for now, and tends to you immediately.

"Are you alright?" He inspects for any physical injuries and distress in your eyes.

"Yes, I'm fine. Thank you." Rayne gently rests his hand on your cheek, rubbing the soft skin under his thumb. You smile into his touch, leaning into it. His lips slightly tug downard at the thought of you having gone through that boy's pestering for quite some time. Rayne heard you complain about your multiple rejections. He couldn't blame you since you respected the promise you both made in regards to hiding each other's identity. Also, knowing you, you didn't want to worry the magic blade user.

Well, he couldn't allow that to continue. He breathes out your name, his other hand claiming your free cheek.

"I think it's time to let everyone know our little secret." Rayne lays his lips over yours delicately, ignoring the various noises from the onlookers. You couldn't help but melt into his kiss, pressing yourself a bit closer to him. It felt so liberating and exciting now that you both can show each other off. He wanted it to be clear who exactly your mystery boyfriend was.

I decided to put (Name) as a student of Orca due to the fact that Magarret gave her gold coins to others because she wasn't interested

Warning: This takes place before Mashle begins, so there will be no quotes from any of the protagonists.

Gender: Fluff

Summary: Rayne goes on a date in exchange for a gold coin to become a Divine Visionary

"Hey Rayne!" A person with (h/c) hair says turning his head to face Rayne who was a little far away as they continue to lean on the iron bars that separated him from the lake

"Look at that duck! Isn't he funny and cute at the same time?" They say while pointing at a specific duck

Rayne sighs as she approaches the bar and sees the spot where they pointed.

The duck they said was cute and funny was one with shades of black and yellow that was upside down

Did the colors remind you of someone...?

"They look like you!" To confirm Rayne's doubt, they said while letting out a few giggles

'...Why am I even here?' Rayne think while rethinking the last moments that led him here

"Hey! You and Rayne right?" A voice behind him catches his attention, so he turns to face the owner of the voice.

There was a person with (h/c) who wore an Orca coat

"Yes... What do you need?" Rayne asks suspiciously and his guard was up, he had never seen this person before and now they wanted to talk

"I heard you're after coins to become a Divine Visionary..." They say as they lean forward "And I kind of have a gold coin here..."

This alarms Rayne who was ready to grab her wand.

It seems they noticed this movement and raise their hands to show redemption "Calm down, calm down, I'm not here to fight! I want to make an exchange" They say while waiting for his reaction

"...A switch?" Rayne says without letting her guard down but lowering her hand from reaching for the wand

"That's it! If you do a single favor, I'll give you the coin for free without worry" They say while making pistols with their hands and pointing at him

Rayne raises an eyebrow showing that she is interested in this 'exchange'

The (h/c) person gets the hint and continues "Great! The only thing I want is to go on a date with you!" They say pointing to Rayne

'......What?' Rayne wasn't showing it but his brain was spinning as fast as possible to understand this exchange

Without noticing they continue "I kind of wanted to go to an event that will take place in a small square and nobody wants to go with me..." They admit with shame

"Are you trying to tell me that you will exchange your currency to go on a date with me just because you don't want to go to this event alone?" Rayne responds with indignation in her voice.

"B-but think on the positive side! You get a gold coin without having to fight!" They say trying to persuade them

"And how do I know that I don't -" Before Rayne responds the person takes out a gold coin from his coat and shows it to him

"I'm not one to not keep my words!" They respond with indignation in their voice at being almost called liars

"So? Do we have a deal?" They say while moving the coin from side to side

"We have" Rayne says making the (h/c) person start to jump with joy

"That's it! Hahaha" They continue as they celebrate their victory, seeming to forget the existence of the boy with two-colored hair

"*Ahem* My name is (First Name) (Last Name)" They finally introduce themselves as they snap out of their stupor

'Oh and that' Rayne remembered the reason as she walked a little behind (Name) who was humming an unknown song

And of course at first Rayne wasn't confident about it and only accepted because of the coin out that (Name) said they would pay for everything so he didn't need to bring money, but he did anyway, and they actually paid for everything

So here the two of them were passing by some stalls that were selling various types of items, some caught (Name)'s attention so they stopped to take a closer look and deciding to buy or not others they offered to buy something for Rayne but he always refused

As they walked something caught Rayne's attention.

There was a shooting range, but that wasn't what caught his attention.

It was one of the rewards, a giant stuffed rabbit.

"Did you like him?" Suddenly a voice takes Rayne out of his thoughts and he looks at the owner, who as always was (Name) who was now next to him looking at the plush.

Before he could say anything (Name) took his hand and led him to the tent where the rabbit was.

"What can I help you young people with?" The stall owner says as soon as they get close enough

"How much is three tries?" (Name) says as she starts going through her bag looking for her wallet.

"There are 5 coins for three attempts" The owner responds

Rayne looks at them suspiciously as she watches them pay the amount and receive the gun and point it at the target.

After several attempts and losing a good amount of money (Name) finally managed to win

"Heh~ Now pass the giant rabbit!" (Name) says in a proud tone like I did it the first time while putting away the gun

"Here it is!" The owner says while handing over the plush that was bigger than (Name)

After they thank them, (Name) turns to Rayne

"Here! For you!" They say as they lift the big rabbit

Rayne didn't seem like it, but he was surprised that they played and spent a good amount of money just to give him the rabbit.

"...Thank you" Rayne says as he accepts the bunny trying to hide her excitement

"It has!" (Name) says smiling with her eyes closed at him

So Rayne and (Name) went to see more stalls leaving the stall owner happy to see an adorable interaction

"That was the best date I've had in my entire life!" (Name) says while walking down the school hallway next to Rayne

After that interaction, the two did more things together and are now back at school.

"And as part of the agreement" (Name) says stopping in the middle of the way making Rayne stop too

(Name) goes through her bag and takes out the gold coin and holds it up to Rayne

"Here! Thanks for the date!" They said while smiling at Rayne

"It was nice doing business with you" Rayne says while picking up the coin with her free hand from the giant stuffed rabbit

"I'm also grateful for the rabbit" He continues as he puts the coin in a safe place

"You're welcome, I heard you liked rabbits!" They say letting out a little laugh

"...Maybe one day we can go on a date without needing to change" Rayne says, surprising (Name)

Before (Name) could say anything, he immediately left heading towards his dorm.

"I'm always willing to go on dates with you Rayne!" That was the last thing Rayne heard from them before turning into a hallway.

DIVINE VISIONARY work is honestly so tiring, having to save and protect the country with your whole live. especially rayne, who did all that while also studying and having prefect duties to complete. every day is a tiring day, having no rest most of the times. so how exactly did he survive being tired all this time?

well, he has you. you, his personal charger. his personal energy replenishment. his personal little ball of happiness that consumes all tiredness the moment he sees you. whether it be in school, in your dorm rooms, or at home. all he wants to do is just be around you and he will forget that he even is tired.

just like any other days during semester break, rayne has a load of work as a divine visionary to complete and when he came home, he cannot resist but lean on you the moment you open the door. which eventually leads to the both of you just laying down on the living room sofa, watching a tv show you were watching the entire day.

rayne has a habit though. he is like a baby, a clingy and big baby. as you watch tv, rayne laid above you and buried his head into the crook of your neck. you can feel his breath against your skin. occasionally, he would talk about how his day played through by his muffled voice as it always plucks your attention away from the screen and onto him. you'd reassure him that you're listening by playing with his pretty hair or even giving his head little massages.

by doing that, it makes the ames sleepy and so very loved. he loves your fingers running through his hair. he loves you. rayne smiles against your neck very often at the little things you do to show him how much you appreciate him. rayne also kisses your neck lazily always, while he is sleepy by your head massages. sometimes he kisses your neck so much that he falls asleep and forgets that it's hard to breathe in the corner or it's uncomfortable.

that's okay though, you'll always slowly and carefully shift him so he has a comfortable space to sleep. at the end, you'll fell asleep with him.

So rayne was on his way to meet you after he finished his mission, he missed you so much and couldn't wait to see your beautiful smile that brings him warmth inside. Before he can knock the door to your dorm room he overhead you talking to someone which he found out later that it was finn. He just stood by the door not wanting to interrupt your convo as you seemed really into it, he had actually no intention of overhearing until he heard his name.

short washing machine headcanons...

How would the Mashle characters react if they found their s/o stuck in the washing machine? + personal ratings (I know, no one asked)

For Mash, Dot, Finn, Lemon, Lance, Rayne, Abel, Abyss, Wirth, Margarette, Carpaccio, Orter, Renatus, Ryoh, Kaldo.

Warnings: SLIGHT spoiler for Margarette? Other than that, none. ratings are purely subjective, please don't bury me alive.

Note: none of this is canon so some charas might be ooc, don’t take it too seriously! Might write for Domina, Meliadoul, Famin and Delisaster one day, idk

He’s probably busy eating or making cream puffs when he hears you call for help. It isn’t common for you to do such a thing so he freaks out a little bit at first, but upon finding out the mess you’ve made while trying to empty the washing machine, he just stands there, completely dumbfounded.

He’s a little dense, so it takes him a minute or two to figure out that you’re actually stuck. He’s never been in this situation before, therefore he’s sweating a little and panicking internally. “T-t-t-t-this is bad. I-I-I have to help them out.”

Pulling on your legs would be a terrible idea, considering his strength, and he’s just completely clueless on how to get you out.

Would 100% rip open the washing machine and leave you completely astonished as he does so, then pat your shoulder in a comforting way with a thumbs up.

Overall very cute, even tried to comfort you after such a “traumatising” ordeal. 8/10.

DOT...

He thinks he’s the main character, we all know it. He’s probably checking himself out in the mirror and saying cool protagonist lines when he hears you call out for help, and suddenly, his main quest has changed!

He walks in on you, stuck head first in the washing machine, and much like Mash, he just looks at you for a bit before taking in the situation. Of course, he’s going to help you, but he needs to gloat about it first, you know it.

“Damn, how could you ever get out of here without my help, huh?” He’d just take on dramatic poses that he assumes are cool (they are not), and try to pull you out by himself. “Can’t be helped, huuuh?”

Despite all his efforts, he doesn’t manage to get you out and he just starts mumbling things about the washing machine being a worthy opponent before actually grabbing his phone and calling someone for help.

Dot is just being Dot, after all, but he’s full of good intentions. 5/10, at least you had a good laugh..?

FINN...

Finn immediately interrupts his studying when he hears you call out for him, and he’s running like his own life depends on it! “What’s wrong, (Y/N)?!”

Upon seeing you stuck in there head first, he gets into panic mode! It isn’t completely horrible either and it’s just purely annoying to be stuck, but Finn sees it differently. If you called for help, then SURELY you must be terrified or in pain!

He’s going to pace around the room for a minute, wondering “How do I get them out? How do I get them out? How do I get them out?” before deciding that he’s going to take it step by step!

Gently guides you out of the washing machine without too much trouble and doesn’t judge you even once for it! He gives you a big hug afterwards because he’s convinced you were very scared (you weren’t, but he was)!

I physically cannot give Finn anything under 9/10. He is bebe.

LEMON...

She’s probably making a cute keychain for you when you call out for her. She will make you her utmost priority and cheerily trot up to you. “Yeeees~ what is it?”

You’re… stuck. She blushes dramatically and screams out something like “Kyaaah! Just like in those movies! You perv!” But then carefully inspect the position you’re in and how the hell you got stuck in there.

She’s going to try pretty much everything in her power, from pulling you out to switching your position and figuring out a way to painlessly get you out of there…

And eventually get you out! However, be warned: she will give you the side eye with a blush every time she sees you for at least a month and giggle. Who knows what’s going through her head?

Helpful, cute, and funny. 8/10 would recommend.

LANCE...

He’s reading a book when you call for him. He will automatically assume something bad happened (well, technically yes, but.. yeah) and quickly run to the laundry room. “(Y/N), what happened?!”

Looks down on you without you knowing. The display is pretty ridiculous and laughable, but he won’t make a sound. He’s just going to pat your back. “I’ll get you out of here.”

He’s a very smart guy, so he just has to look at the way you’re stuck for a few seconds before figuring out the most efficient way to help you, and it takes him very little time.

Will sigh and shake his head in disapproval, but internally scream when you pout at him for sighing because he thinks you’re adorable. He’s going to look away and clear his throat so you can’t see his blush.

Efficient and definitely nice, he won’t even tease you about it. He did look down on you though, 7/10.

RAYNE...

Where is he anyway? He’s taking his sweet time when you call for him, and when he does finally arrive, you’re met with his usual neutral voice. “Yes, I heard you calling the first time.”

You can’t tell, but when he walks in on you stuck like this, he gives you the look… but again, it’s probably his neutral face. How’d you get stuck in there anyway? You really can’t do anything by yourself, can you?

Much like Lance, he’s extremely smart, so he’s going to pull you out of there very quickly, and he sighs while doing so. How can you be so clumsy? It’s almost as if you did it on purpose.

He’s about to lecture you but notices that you’re very embarrassed and can’t even look him in the eyes, so his expression softens just a little and he decides not to say anything mean and just gives you a comforting pat on the head. “Don’t get stuck again, alright?”

Very thoughtful despite the cold look he gives you, efficient and nice. 8/10.

ABEL...

Abel rarely stays away from you for very long, so he was probably there when it happened and he saw you getting stuck. He also noticed how you couldn’t get out by yourself. “It appears you need some help.”

You’re now aware that he saw you and it’s just fully embarrassing, but he’s part of the clever ones, so you’re pretty sure he will help you out quickly. Or will he? He’s always been a little odd, even around you anyway.

It’s really curious to him, how you managed to get stuck that fast yet you just can’t get out by yourself. Will definitely ask if you did it on purpose while keeping a straight face and blank tone.

Gets you out in a longer time than he should’ve because he was busy trying to understand how you got in there in the first place. He won’t judge you for it, but he will absolutely bring it up around other people like it’s no big deal.

It’s nice that he was already there, did help, but embarrasses you in front of your friends. 6/10

ABYSS...

No matter what he’s doing when you call out for him or where he is, he will Acceleraise his way to you immediately! You are his top 1 priority!

He will however take a second to appreciate the display and chuckle a little bit to himself like “Hah… cute.” before actively looking for a solution because he can literally feel your embarrassment.

“How did you manage to do this?” He mumbles, and makes sure that you aren’t hurt or in any pain first of all. He will 100% reassure you through the whole process!

Abyss is smart and will get you out quickly and without making fun of you. Unlike Abel, he won’t mention it around anyone else, and makes a self note: needs to buy a bigger washing machine so you don’t get stuck again.

Sweet and efficient, very nice and comforting. 10/10, would get stuck again.

WIRTH...

He’s training and trying to improve his capacities when you call out for him. He’s used to you getting into such and such situations, so he just takes his time now. “What is it this time, (Y/N)?”

A bit dumbfounded when he sees the way you’ve managed to get stuck, will crackle up in laughter because as used as he is to see stuff like that with you, it always manages to surprise him.

He’s going to keep giggling as he helps you through, and you just wish you could wipe that smirk off his face but you can’t really do anything and just wait for him to help.

He even hesitates and feels like he should leave you like that, but he doesn’t want you to be upset at him, so he will get you out pretty easily and tease you about it later on. “Aww, c’mon, don’t sulk now~!”

Kind of a jerk, but in a lovable way. You need to find something to tease him back with, 7/10 though.

MARGARETTE...

They’re probably rehearsing or composing another one of these musical masterpieces to play on the piano when their beloved calls out for help.

They’ll gently chuckle and crouch down next to you. “Oh my! How’d you get in such a situation, dear?” Their arms are a little too bulky to reach out for you from the outside, so they’ll shift into their true form and easily reach for your shoulders so they can pull you out!

Margarette is one of the smart characters and will get you out of the washing machine in no time, very gently and gracefully, making sure you don’t get hurt or anything in the process.

Will give you a hug and gentle pats on the head to comfort you. “There, there~.” They won’t tease you about it nor make fun, but will definitely chuckle a little upon remembering it.

A mother figure, very nice and gentle. Cannot wait to hear the masterpiece they were busy composing, 10/10.

CARPACCIO...

He’s experimenting on lab rats and seems very engrossed with his occupation, so it will take him a little bit of time to hear you calling out for him.

Freezes when he sees you stuck head first inside the washing machine and stares blankly without a word for way longer than necessary. He’s got a little smirk and his lower eyelids rise up in amusement.

“Heh.” is all you can hear before he makes his way towards you and inspects you while he considers leaving you like this for a bit longer because it sure as hell is funny for him. But he knows you’ll be upset and he doesn’t want you to give him the silent treatment.

If he doesn’t find a quick way to get you out, he will stab his way through the washing machine (and give you a good scare as he does that) to free you! Terrifyingly sweet, he’s just staring with a very slight smirk and you know he will tease you about it.

Mean but at least he helped you out. You got scared for your life even though you know he wouldn’t hurt you. 7/10

ORTER...

He’s reading a book and he’s sure as hell he heard you call for him. He will carefully put down his book and look for the source of the muffled cry he just heard.

Despite being quite the jerk around others, Orter is a mature man, and he isn’t going to make any snarky remarks or make fun of you. He will sigh upon seeing you squirm, crouching next to you to check the mess you’ve been making.

“Calm down. If you’ve managed to find a way in, there’s obviously a way out.” Very rational throughout the whole process and effectively gets you out of the washing machine, inspecting you afterwards to make sure you aren’t hurt.

Much like Abyss, he will make a mental note to buy a larger washing machine, and kindly help you back up without teasing you or ever bringing it up around anyone else. If you apologise, he’ll tell you it’s nonsense.

Very logical and calm, efficient and polite. 10/10.

RENATUS...

Sure as hell taking a nice nap when he hears that scream of his name that could wake up the dead. He groans and stands up to lazily make his way to the laundry room.

He whistles when he sees you stuck there and gives a snarky chuckle. “Woah, just for me?” and you can physically feel your face heat up. He’s going to get closer to check the way you’re stuck and…

Whack! He’ll give your butt a playful slap before helping you out and laughing out loud at the ridiculous situation. After all, it’s not everyday that he gets to see his s/o in such an embarrassing state!

He will however stop teasing you if he sees you get uncomfortable and wrap his arms around your waist to comfort you with a softer chuckle. He might tease you later if he ever remembers this happened.

Again, jerk but in a lovable way. You need to give him that spank back tho, 7/10.

RYOH...

Like Abyss, you are his utmost priority and he will immediately drop anything he’s doing (probably admiring his reflection in a mirror) when he hears you call out for him!

He’ll chuckle when he sees you stuck in there, and you can tell his mind is running! But there is no time for this. If Ryoh's s/o is stuck in the washing machine, he must overcome this trial!

Will get you out in a manly way (whatever that means!) and you’ll even wonder how he did it so easily, that’s how flawless his whole performance is.

He might tease you if you’re comfortable with it, winking at you way too many times and making it pretty obvious what kind of ideas he has. If you aren’t, it’s also fine, he’s just going to cuddle you into forgetting it.

Ryoh is just a W man. There’s nothing else to say, 10/10.

KALDO...

It’s good that you called him, he was about to ruin yet another perfectly fine dish by pouring an ungodly amount of honey on top of it. He will pout in disappointment but come check what’s up.

“(Y/N), dear, are you having fun in there~?” He teases with a chuckle. “Can I join?” But upon hearing your frustrated groan, he will go into thinking mode and consider his options.

His first thought is to use honey to make it easier to pull you out, but he quickly dismisses it. He will, instead, pull on your clothes to avoid hurting your skin when you get out.

Will get you out, but your clothes are ruined, so he’ll give you his coat so you can cover up and not be too embarrassed. He might bring it up later and pretend he forgot how embarrassing it was for you, but really, he just wants to tease you.

Playful and cute, but he did ruin that shirt you liked a lot. 7/10.

Rayne Ames x Reader

Synopsis - You never had friends growing up. A runaway child, you were too cautious to make friends. When with the Whitechapel couple, you were too occupied with your studies. When a student at Easton Magic Academy, everyone else already had friends, and there was no room for you. You never expected to make friends, much less Rayne Ames of all people. Even so, you're glad you have him as a friend; However, because you never had friends one in your life, you don't know how friends actually work.

It doesn't help that Rayne asked you out on a date while specifying that it's as friends; But friends don't date, right?

Rayne is an enigma to you.

Rayne Ames is the prefect of Adler and Divine Visionary. He is the person all the boys strive to be and the one all girls want to date; Rayne was popular despite his cold exterior: You were always in the background, all alone. Yet, somehow — someway, you befriended him.

It's an odd dynamic.

You're an average student, and Rayne is a prodigy. There are times when you struggle with the most basic of assignments that he is able to complete flawlessly. The only thing subject you best him at is Magic Zoology. When it comes to handling magic beasts, there is no one who bests you — not even Rayne.

Rayne does his best to help you with school assignments: And you do your best to help him care for his hundreds of rabbits. Though it may appear as a mutual relationship, you two are friends. You two do enjoy spending time together and talking about interests. Rayne talks about rabbits and work: You talk a lot about magical beasts and ethology. Though this relationship may have originally been mutualistic, it has been able to become a true and mutual friendship. Even if Rayne couldn't help you with schoolwork, you'll still be happy to stay by his side. If you were no longer able to help Rayne take care of the rabbits' medical needs, he'll still be content with hearing you speak.

This relationship —friendship— is something special to you. You never had anything to call your own, and that included friends; However, now you have Rayne.

Rayne Ames is your only friend.

That being said, you are unsure of your feelings towards him. You don't know how friends should act towards each other. You don't know what friends do other than talk to each other. You don't know what you should be feeling for your friends. The Whitechapel couple never told you how to make friends or what it means to be friends.

Do friends feel flustered when around each other?

Probably not.

It's something you noticed a while after officiating your friendship. You now find yourself staring at him during class. You see yourself admiring him in the reflection of the courtyards' fountain. You can't help but feel extreme bouts of happiness when you see Rayne playing with the rabbits. He's always so serious, and to suddenly see him surrounded by small, cute rabbits, you can't help but smile. While friends may respect and find joy in eachothers company, you doubt that friends feel their hearts race when with each other.

You don't know where this feeling came from; It's not like Rayne is doing anything different from the first day you two stepped foot onto the academy. He is still the same as when you two first spoke — so what is any different now? You feel as if you're sick whenever you see Rayne. Never do you feel yourself, nor do you feel normal. Rayne Ames makes your heart race: He makes you do things you never thought you would do.

Love.

That's what this feeling has to be: There is no other explanation. Love is an awful wretched feeling. You loved to be friends with Rayne, but anything more than that you were scared of. Love was a curse: If it wasn't for the love of power, then you could've had a childhood. Love was conditional: If you were a two-liner, they would have allowed you to eat at the dinner table. Love is terrifying — Does that make Rayne terrifying?

Rayne is powerful: He was so powerful, in fact, that they made him Divine Visionary. There was no position lesser than that that could be worth his time. Rayne is a two-liner: He had what you didn't and excelled at magic that you could only dream of. Rayne is rude, disrespectful, apathetic, and prideful.

"Are you an idiot or just dumb?"

Rayne couldn't grasp the difference in talent between you two. The only thing you were good for was anything dealing with magical beasts and certain animals; Anything else, not so good.

"It's not my fault! I only learned how to read when I was like nine!"

This led to frustrating moments when Rayne couldn't understand why you couldn't understand the basic things. You never got the chance to learn as a child. You never had books, toys, pencils, nothing at all. You never learned math, science, or language arts; It was only when the Whitechapels took you in that you were able to learn. Due to this stunt in your developmental years, you still struggle with some subjects: Reading and writing being the hardest ones. If it's not related to zoology or science, you have a difficult time with it.

"You say it like this—"

Even so, you love the way he tries to help you. Rayne isn't good at teaching others, and yet, he still tries to help. You two stay up late at the library: Rayne tutoring you the best he can. He may not understand your struggles, nor does he push you to tell him why. Rayne is kind; He is rude, mean, condescending, but he cares.

You see how different his words are from his actions. You see how happy he is when involving rabbits. You see and feel how gentle he is when helping you. Rayne is far from being terrifying.

If Rayne was gentle, does that mean love is the same?

"I'm going out during the weekend; The headmaster wants me to pick something up. Do you want to go into town with me?"

You stopped what you were doing and looked at him in confusion. "To pick something up? Do you need help with it?"

"No, I'll do that myself. What I meant to ask was if you wanted to go out with me: Kind of like a date, but without the romantic part. I needed to buy other things while there and thought you would've liked to go too."

"I—It would be nice."

You just wish he didn't say it like. A date? You don't want to ruin your friendship just because of your feelings. Rayne was your only friend, and you didn't want to lose him. Besides, he only meant it as two friends hanging — because friends don't date each other.

When the date— weekend arrived, you rushed to try on an assortment of outfits. Never in your life did you have to dress nice for someone else. Though it wasn't a date, you still wanted to look your best. Finally, deciding on an outfit, you got your other belongings and left your dorm.

Rayne did say he would meet you outside the dorms; You just didn't expect him to be waiting outside your dorm room.

"Rayne? What are you doing out here?"

"I'm waiting for you, obviously." Rayne scoffed at your ignorance and said, "Well? Why are you just standing there? Let's go."

Walking next to him, you noticed how he was dressed. Rayne was dressed better than you thought he would. It was an odd sight to see dressed so casual, but it was not an unwelcome one! Not wanting to be caught staring, you looked away. Never in your life did you want the silence to go away more than now. You felt as if he could hear the pounding of your heartbeat.

"Do you think they would prefer banana flavor over pumpkin?"

"Rabbits do tend to enjoy actual bananas; Though I'm not too sure about the flavor...."

You can't believe you forgot it was Rayne who you were hanging out with. Raynes Ames: The only man in the world obsessed with rabbits that he is willing to drop everything if it means seeing one for a second. So, of course, the only reason he asked you out was so you could help purchase things for his rabbits.

"You're a zoology major!"

Doesn't mean you specialize in rabbits.

Regardless, you're happy to help Rayne after he spent hours tutoring you for free. He's a good friend.

"So, banana?"

"Let me see the ingredients....."

This is why he brought you. Rayne may know more about rabbits, but he can't help but trust your judgment over his — especially when it came to animal health. You may not be the brightest or smartest, but you were the best when it came to magical beasts and rabbits.

"What feed do you think is best for their health?"

"I don't know?! You've been raising them! Not me!"

"You specificalize in—"

"—animals, magical beasts. Yeah, and? I don't intend to study domesticated animals! Rabbits included!"

"....Is the feed good for them or not?"

"Yeah....It's actually one of the best well-balanced feeds I've ever seen for any animal species."

"All that complaining just to circle around."

What the actual hell was that supposed to mean?

Rayne Ames is the one you love: He also is the one who irritates you the most. He's so mean and overall frustrating! So what if he has his own way of caring? He's so annoying and rude! He always gives you this knowing look whenever you ask him a question. He always gives you the most cryptic answer and scoffs when you misinterpret it! Rayne Ames, the most serious man known to everyone at the academy, likes messing with you purposely and admitted it.

Why do you even like someone like him?

Love is weird: You suppose it's because of all those frustrating moments that you fell for him out of all people. Rayne makes you mad; He makes you irritated; He makes you happy; He makes you laugh; Rayne makes you blush.

You love how normal he is in contrast to his cold persona. Rayne loves rabbits and cares for his friends. Rayne may be intelligent, but he struggles with teaching others. Rayne is serious, however, he can also be sarcastic and humorous at times.

You're in love with Rayne Ames.

"Hey Rayne, look at me." You put on some rabbit ears you found at costume shop. You thought it would be funny to surprise Rayne with it. "I'm a rabbit."

Rayne turned to look at you and just stared. You were expecting a response of some kind, and instead, you just got a deadpan stare. He looked disappointed and looked away without a word.

"Rayne—Rayne! Why'd you look away? It was a joke!"

"I'm just going to say, it'll take more to sway me over."

"I got the rabbit ears and everything, and it still wasn't enough!"

"I don't know what you're talking about."

"All you need to know is that I spent the rest of my money on these."

".....Really?"

You wanted to bury yourself on top of a hill.

"Yeah," you meekly said as you hid your face in your hands out of embarrassment.

"Ahmm."

Did he laugh?

"Hahehahaa!" It was difficult not to follow along. No matter how embarrassed you were, the situation was hilarious, and hearing him chuckle for the first time was enough to make you happy. You just can't believe it took wearing rabbits to make him laugh.

Rayne Ames makes you unbelievably happy. This love of yours wasn't so terrible: Rayne is rude and blunt — so was love. Rayne is gentle and kind — so was love. Rayne makes you feel levels of joy and excitement you have never felt before — so does love.

Hanging out for the first time with Rayne mad enough realize something: You don't mind keeping this a secret if it means you two can continue being friends. You don't wish to lose this special friendship just because you yearned for something more. You're fine with just being in love if it means you can still walk by his side.

"Rayne, what do you think about the girls in our classes?" You asked out of pure curiosity.

"What do you mean?"

"Well....It's just that they always talk about you in a romantic sense, and I wondered if you ever received love confessions."

Rayne stopped walking and thought for a moment. "Love confessions......I have received a handful before. Some were outside my dorm, and others were handed directly."

Though you already knew about his popularity, you still felt your heart tighten at the thought of others liking Rayne the same you do. It's only natural that you're hurt by this.

"How'd you react?"

"I would always turn them down, and they would always cry."

"Huh...I wonder why?"

"I'd also like to know— You were being sarcastic, weren't you?"

"Now! Why would I ever do that?" Turning around, you saw Rayne glaring at you. Perhaps you pushed your limit for the day. "Aye! It was just a joke!"

You love Rayne Ames, and that didn't scare you. Even so, you treasure the friendship you built with him and refuse to tear it down. You're alright with just being friends.

After all,

How long has it been since (Name) had a proper sleep and meal? A week or two, maybe it was more, but (Name)'s pride was greater to take that on

'It has to be perfect!!! Nothing can go wrong!!!' (Name) think as she closes the reference book and sees her colleagues entering

'I didn't eat breakfast, but that's okay, at lunch I increase my portion' They think when they realize they ate nothing but water and a granola bar yesterday

The teacher enters the room and goes to her place and starts taking roll.

"As we know, today we still have presentations, and now it's Mr (Name)'s turn to introduce himself." As soon as the teacher finishes explaining, she waves towards (Name) for them to start

(Name) with the help of her magic pick up the items from her presentation and will start walking to go ahead

"Ah, that's what happened" (Name) says as he starts to think about the trouble they went through when they fainted in front of their classmates and teacher

"...Why didn't you tell me you were overwhelmed?" Rayne says out of nowhere with a tone of voice that showed concerns

And of course he would be worried, he was notified that his beloved had fainted as soon as they separated.

"I kind of didn't want to worry you about something silly, you're so busy you don't even have time to rest, I thought it would be better for me to take care of it myself" (Name) says as he starts to sit on the bed, Rayne didn't interrupt him this time

As soon as (Name) sits up completely on the bed and faces Rayne

Then they touch Rayne's head and start playing with his hair "But I messed up, I'm sorry for worrying you" (Name) says while sending a guilty smile

Rayne stares at (Name) as they continue to play with their hair

Then Rayne closes her eyes as they feel the sensation of their fingers brushing her hair

"It's okay... but next time tell me and take care of your health"

"OK!"

"I'll bring you lunch," Rayne says as she gently takes (Name)'s hand away and holds it in hers.

Suddenly he brings his hand to your lips and kisses your wrist

"Okay, I'm going" As soon as he breaks the kiss he gets up and heads towards the infirmary door

Rayne was probably ignoring that it made (Name) a blushing mess that could compete with her little brother's friend's hair color.

"You didn't need to make food for me." Even though (Name) denied it, they still took the lunch box and opened his lunch box

As soon as they picked it up, Rayne took out a similar lunch box

"The teacher saw your work and said you got full marks" Rayne says as she opens the lid of her lunch box and starts eating.

"I'm glad my sweat and tears weren't wasted on this work" (Name) says as she takes a piece of her food and puts it in her mouth

After that little conversation, comfortable silence filled around the two of them in the infirmary.

sword cane this sword cane that. how about rayne making a sword for you out of his sword cane abilities???? it's fine because he has millions of other swords. he's like gilgamesh but sword version.

notes. actually, gil's gate of babylon is full of swords 😭also happy birthday to rayne (march 3rd), i am totally not late bc my phone got confiscated but wtv😈

RAYNE AMES is not fond of the idea of making a weapon for you. especially if you abilities are those of elemental nature. your magic wouldn't really suit a sword. but you have been begging for him to teach you how to wield a sword for the longest time. probably from the moment during your first time knowing him during the entrance exam.

this time, rayne gave in and decided to make and forge you a new sword based on your ability. fresh and new, a piece he hasn't used in his battles before. since you have an ability that pretty much only needs to be around certain elements, he made sure your blade is as thin but as hard as steel, so you could figure out a specific style for your swordsmanship.

his allowed his magic do all the forging, styling, creating, and last but not least, giving it life. the only thing rayne did was controlled his magic to be as minor as he could so he wouldn't accidentally tickled something and end up with one of those big and powerful swords of his.

rayne made sure to present your dream sword to you nicely. he put the effort of also making a box with red velvet cloth to place inside just to keep your sword safe. a scabbard was included in the package too, for he absolutely fears if you might accidentally slide the blades against your skin whenever you are not paying attention.

how attentive of rayne, to pay such tiny details out of care and worry for you. he might regret forging such a weapon for you, but he doesn't regret that he could get to see the magnificently bright smile painted on your face upon receiving it. you were like a ball of sunshine when he handed you the weapon, shining and radiating nothing but pure happiness that it made rayne melt on the inside.

if you are happy and get to put such a huge smile on, that is surely enough for the divine visionary of the sword cane.

about. you have been wanting a musical box with a dancing doll on the inside dancing endlessly for the longest of time. so what would you do when you finally received a gift from a boy that loves you?

𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐀𝐑𝐄 𝐁𝐄𝐃𝐑𝐈𝐃𝐃𝐄𝐍. a sickly teenage who has to stay in their room for the past few weeks and only on their bed as their body is simply too weak to move around. you couldn't perform simple and basic magic if you wanted to. trying to force out your mana is already hard enough. all you can do is lay in bed and dream about the world outside without a single knowledge on what was going on in your life.

then came rayne ames, a well respected student of your academy. rayne ames who became a divine visionary in your place because you were originally supposed to claim that role as yours. but an unknown sickness strike you. he always visited you. day and night. after school, after duties, after his meals. when he has time, he will journey all the way to your house just to see you. if he doesn't have time, he will make time.

however one day he stopped coming to see you. his existence has completely ceased. no trace left, no news either. but what can you do? you cannot even move a single muscle for the time being. for the longest time, you pray and pray and pray that rayne will knock on your room door and say his usual first words when he wants to see you. but none. there was not a single sound at the front of your door. so you finally fell asleep.

you opened your eyes. right in front of your vision there laid a white box, beautifully wrapped. you sprung up, ignoring the aching pain at your arm and torso. you grabbed the box and opened it, finding a note at the top.

and there it was.

He's a really softie with you, but he's also protective so if anyone tries to mess with you he'll have to deal with him and Abel as well.

After getting comfortable with you, Abyss will share his thoughts and trauma with you, he will tell you details about his family and how cruel his life was.

You comfort him every time and hug him close telling him how much he means to you, even cry for him because you can't handle seeing him in that much pain.

He will tell you that it's fine because he has you now, and that you make his world bright and beautiful and that you wash away all his pain.

Abyss would definitely introduce you to Abel, you'll be nervous at first but Abel was nice towards you and told you to take good care of Abyss.

Playing cards with him and Abel is religious activity. ( They'll go easy on you and will let you win from time to time)

Quality time and words of affirmation are his love language.

Never hesitates to tell you anything he feels because he thinks communication is important so you too never argue but instead you have deep talks that helpsl understanding each other more and more.

Pats your head often because he thinks you're so cute and beautiful.

Abyss feels warmth all over him whenever you look at him sincerely in love and express yourself to him.

Think about you and thank god to have you whenever he's about to sleep.
