For the first time since 1986, only seven horses are running today.  Chasing Chaos has the coolest name today, but with the scratch of second favorite First Mission early yesterday, today’s race looks like a showdown between Derby winner Mage and Bob Baffert’s National Treasure.  Everyone loves a Triple Crown, so we will be rooting for feel-good favorite Mage!  🏇💨

Happy Preakness week!

Mage is the only horse continuing on from the Derby, and he’ll have to contend with an intriguing group of new shooters including the hot new Brad Cox horse, First Mission; the ever reliable Red Route One; and horses that looked top class at two trying to get back in spotlight with Blazing Sevens and National Treasure. Chase the Chaos is here (along with Red Route One) off of a win-and-your in prep victory while Perform and Coffeewithchris are the locale hopefuls coming out of the Federico Tesio at Laural.

I think it is really funny that Blazing Sevens got the Seven post and Good Magic has a better than 0 chance of siring the Preakness trifecta with his sons Mage, Blazing Sevens and Perform all going to post. This should be a fun one.
