Literally no one on tumblr.com gives a fuck but Rich Strike winning the Kentucky Derby with 80-1 odds (the second longest odds in the Derby’s 148 year history) has me absolutely thrilled. Like the horse wasn’t even supposed to be in the Derby!! He only got in because another horse, Ethereal Road, was scratched literally last minute! And he came out of arguably the worst gate on the track in 21st position… he was dead last at the start of the race but pulled through and passed every single other horse on that field and wasn’t even lathered at the end of it… that horse barely broke a sweat! I’m just saying I think I he could he have the Triple Crown if he can get into position fast enough in the Preakness (the 2nd and shortest race) because I think that’s where he may have issues… but whatever I’m excited

I have spoken before about Barbie's many pets including her horses, but Barbie is not simply a horse girl. Barbie is an equestrian.

Show 'n Ride Barbie from 1998 depicts Barbie in a red riding jacket, with both trousers and a long blue skirt to wear atop her horse. She is not depicted wearing a helmet in the box, but she is wearing a helmet in the art.

This theme has been expanded upon in other releases, such as the Barbie and Champion playset.

Once again, Barbie is clearly packaged with a helmet (and a trophy for her victory), but is not wearing it even though she is riding her horse.

A better depiction of safety, perhaps, is Horse Riding Horse Riding Club Barbie.

Or 2000's pink Equestrian Barbie.

If Barbie herself did not want to ride, however, she could always simply attend the races.

This is 2009 Kentucky Derby Barbie. I quite like her hat though feel as though the day at the races look could be brought up to 11.
