Hi!

I'm an artist that likes to draw big info sheets of speculative biology topics and fantasy characters.

I stumbled upon this illustration on pinterest while searching for references and it lead me to this Tumblr.

If you're the original artist would you mind If I use this illustration in one of my posters for a comparison between different centaur species? Of course, you will be mentioned as the original artist of this and will not be intended to be used for commercial use whatsoever.

Ahh i saw this initially and then completely forgot to answer! But yes absolutely! With credit and not for sale feel absolutely free to use the drawings!! I would love to see the final collection! :)

That's twice now the Tumblr app has brought my phone to it's knees over basically nothing. It seems like some advertisement or something gets stuck in the background and won't let go, until either the app crashes or even the entire phone crashes (I just got a "System UI isn't responding. Wait, or close?" popup)

Curiously, both times it's happened, I get the little "this app is accessing your location" map pin icon up by my battery indicator, even though I've double checked Tumblr's permissions and it is not allowed access to that. Nor can I ever remember it asking.

I'd report this to Tumblr support but every single time I interface with that arm of the support team it is maybe the most infuriating experience of my life. I don't think I've ever successfully reported a bug here ever, not in a decade of use, because across three different company ownerships, the bug reporting process is like dealing with a baby sensory video for a space alien.

i was wondering, whats your boundaries on ships? i thought of a pairing of two of the sb characters (target and elliot) and i wondered if you had any set boundaries for them as i dont wanna break any!! sorry if this is a weird question!

I don't really care what anyone does tbh, as long as the minors are kept out of it and it's not shipping family members

you can even do adult human x adult alien if you wanted, as long as the alien is a sapient who can communicate

Quick note about fanfiction and fanart.

I'm always happy to inspire people with my fanfics. As long as you aren't copying and reposting my stories word-for-word, which would be a definite no, then feel free to write your own stories based on ideas/prompts in my fics.

Eg. Darkwing Duck omegaverse. Ice Prince Luigi. Jesper being reborn as a faun (Klaus 2019 - I adore this movie, and a fan of the story did draw the most beautiful picture of Faun Jesper - link is in my fic on Ao3).

Fanart is a little different. I love seeing fanart based on fics. There are so many talented artists in the world. So, yes, I give permission to create art based on my fics.

Hi! My apologies if this is a little too random but do you by any chance know the name of those fancy symbols in novels that follow a more significant line break? Like when a scene changes completely so there's a bigger break and a little doodle

In related news: what are your thoughts about fanbinding? How would you feel about someone binding some of your fanfictions? (Only with your permission of course)

Hi! No worries!

I think what you're thinking of is an ornamental section break. While a line/scene break is an empty paragraph, a section break shows a more complete change in in setting or character pov. (Ref)

I feel compelled to mention that screen readers have a tough time interpreting section break symbols, so I try to keep mine simple and hopefully not too annoying to hear read out.

As for fanbinding, I don't mind it! As long as it's not being sold for profit I think it's an incredible honor that people might want to bind my fics. If they do, I'd love to see a picture of it.

As for permissions, a lot of people might not know, but I have all my permissions on my ao3 profile page, including binding of fics for personal, non-profit use. So feel free!

(This applies to any usage of my works starting from 26 June 2023.)

If you’ve found this post, chances are that you plan on using one or more of my works for your blogs, or personal use. Well, here are some of the things to take note of before using them!

HUGE NO-NOs include (meaning I forbid any of these):

Removing my watermark from any of my works (this can be discussed on a case-by-case basis, but please PM me, give me the reason why you want to remove the watermark, ask for permission, and let me provide said permission first before removing anything),

Removing my watermark from my works, slapping your own watermark onto it and claiming my works to be yours,

Editing (including cropping) straight from my works and claiming the entire edited work to be yours,

Feeding any of my works into AI for any reasons (including but not limited to churning out an ending for my stories, or putting my works through an AI filter),

Commercial usage of my works.

Things I allow include:

Using any of my works or ideas I’ve mentioned on this blog as references or inspiration (if and ONLY if you credit me),

Cropping of my artworks (if and ONLY if you credit me),

Editing of my artworks (if and ONLY if you credit me)

Quoting of my writings (if and ONLY if you credit me),

Just reposting of my works with no edits to the repost whatsoever, since I already forbid the removal of my watermark (you are encouraged to credit me and link the repost back to my account! But in this specific case, crediting is optional).

As of writing this set of permissions, I’ve already seen some blogs use some of my works (especially the KNY Virtual Hugs). As of now, I haven’t seen any issues with the ways my works have been used, which might be due to the fact that I haven’t posted a lot of content. Hence, if, by chance, any of the huge no-nos happened before 26 June 2023, I will let it slide since I didn’t let you guys know of these permissions. However, this will not be the case after and inclusive of 26 June 2023.

Hi! My girlfriend LOVES your fanfiction "Choice is Not a Word a Bullet Knows" and also loves audiobooks, so as a present for her I'm making an audio recording of it so she can listen while she sews. I've never made a podfic before, but would it be okay to post it on AO3 when it's done? (I made an account under the username "tessalations" but there's nothing on it yet since I don't actually read fic myself, lol.) I figured maybe some other readers would enjoy listening!

Oh, yes! I actually have a permission statement in my AO3 profile that I should double-check, I had just updated it because I got annoyed about collections and then AO3 changed the policy the very next day, ha ha-- but I love fan culture and I am very open to remixes and all of that. I personally can't listen to podfics because ADHD, they just slide right by my ears, but I know a ton of people who love them and would be so excited to listen to yours!

That's a big undertaking, it's a big long story, LOL sorry about that but not really. (I have learned since that time, mostly, to try to cut stories into smaller chunks to publish them, Not entirely though.)

I give permission for my work to be translated, typeset, and/or bound for non-profit use. Do not reproduce my works in whole or part for commercial gain, including posting reproductions on paid membership platforms.

I don’t care if people privately reimburse their friends for actual cost of materials and shipping in the case of one-off/hobbyist bindings. That’s between y’all and Venmo. No one has my permission for commercial listings of any kind, charging for materials and/or shipping that in any way constitutes commercial gain, or charging for labor. I hope that clears up any confusion.

Dos and Donts of ZoP

A good friend of mine suggested I do a list of what I am cool and not cool with regarding fan content for ZoP. As I've shared before, I am totally fine with other people making their own art/fics/whatever regarding the series, as I consider all such material not canon to the main plot. Still, I think I should establish what I am cool and not cool with early on. I intend for the ZoP community to be an open and inclusive space for all kinds of weirdos, and I won't tolerate people who intend to ruin that in any way. With that said;

You may:

-draw fanart of my characters. This does include NSFW art, but I ask that you don't publicly post any explicit material.

-write fanfiction with my characters (including all the sappy self insert fanfics you want, same deal as fanart regarding NSFW content).

-make your own ZoP OCs.

-trade/sell the ZoP OCs you make.

-repurpose a ZoP OC I make for you for another project if you decide to leave the community.

-draw my OCs with your OCs (from any fandom ofc).

You may not;

-make any kind of NSFW, gore, or shipping content with my child OCs (including the undead ones, if you think lolicon/any of that shit is ok at all, fuck right off).

-include hateful/egregious insignia in the designs or fanart you make for ZoP. This includes but isn't limited to;

N@zi uniforms or symbology

the Confederate flag

symbols related to white power groups

whatever pro-zoo/pro-pedo flags or symbology comes about

-trade/sell any ZoP OCs designed for you by me. I will gladly take them back if you don't want them.

-sell ANY artwork of my characters or adoptables based on my work without my explicit permission.

I think that sorta stuff's awesome!! My only request ever is to follow the species rules, but otherwise, i love that sort of stuff!!
