did you watch the flash s9 premiere? what did you think?

Yes, I did, and I quite enjoyed it! I went it with no expectations, and I was pleasantly surprised at how well the subtleties and nuances in Barry and Iris's relationship were handled. The last really great episode of The Flash, to me, was 6x17, although there were episodes I very much enjoyed since then, but in terms of matching that intensity, that story-telling, that emotional pay-off... I just do not think the show can pull it off anymore. So, having said that, I did really like that 9x01 instead leaned into levity, while handling the connotations of free will versus fate in the context of Barry and Iris being stuck in the time-loop with nuance. I really liked the notion of Barry wanting to fallback on needing to know every detail of his and Iris's future and needing to follow it exactly, because of the trauma of their past, and Iris wanting to choose and not have to be beholden to specific choice, because of the trauma of their past. Their feelings and emotions are informed by the trauma they have experienced the last few years, when they were physically separated repeatedly, due to Crisis, mirror dimensions, and time sickness.

I was unsure at first about Barry and his book, because initially I worried that this a lesson that Barry seems to need to learn over and over again, but it wasn't what I feared. Barry was very much in the wrong with obsessing about the book and foisting this upon his and Iris's lives, and he needed to come to that realization himself, but I understood why he was obsessing about the book and feeling like he needed to plot out the entire future, because of what's happened to him and Iris and them constantly being physically separated the last few years.

I absolutely adored the material for Iris in the episode. It was some of the best Iris content we have gotten since forever, especially because she has been dealing with so much pain and trauma and had so much violence inflicted upon her in the previous three seasons over and over again, so it was really nice to see Iris struggle internally with wanting to be able to make her choices without being told that she has to do something, because the future says so. Also, I found that scene where she's just like, "fuck it, I'm not dealing with these absurd decisions that may or may not have to be informed by the future, I am going to stay in this time-loop and not have to have all this weighing on me and just have a cocktail and for once not have to worry about all of this," so, so, so relatable. That's just such a good scene, and it felt so real. It's rare that The Flash gives us such good, relatable character moments these days, and this was one of them.

I love that Barry and Iris come up with a solution together on how to end the time-loop, while making choices on their own terms. Iris proactively finding a way to expand CCC into the empire we know it to be through the Coast City Gazette, while turning down the CatCo offer, was wonderful. CHEFS KISS. I always say that CCC is Iris's baby, and so, getting to see her expand her media empire on her own terms was really, really great.

The Westallen content was really fun, as well. I love the rom-com time-loop where they kept waking up on February 1st over and over again. Peak comedy, lol. Also the tender early morning moment. The fireplace kiss was really lovely AND THAT WHOLE SCENE WAS JUST SO SWOON-WORTHY... the romantic lighting, the "Are you sure about this?" "I'm sure about you." GOD, I've missed this peak Westallen romance so much. The power couple energy of them working through the time-loop and saving the day and breaking the time-loop together, on their own terms. The peak best friends in love energy in the pool scene. The scene by the pier, "Okay. Okay. Okay." I just LOVE how the married best friends in love energy jumped out. SO GOOD. Getting to see Barry and Iris together and happy and in love is just... give me all of that content. I am glad that this seems to be a focus this season, and I hope that it carries throughout the season.

So yes, all in all, a really enjoyable hour. It's not equal to my all-time favorite episodes, but I was not expecting it to be. I really appreciated that the episode handled Barry, Iris, and the time-loop with real nuance in the episode and that we got to see some really good character moments, because I honestly cannot recall the last time the show has afforded us this kind of nuance and character introspection.

I HAVE ANOTHER GODDAMN AU-

I am so sorry for the capslock, but I am so annoyed with myself. Not because it’s shit, but because it’s so fucking good that words aren’t going to do it justice and that pisses me off. I am going to try my fucking damnedest, but I promise it is probably WAY better in my head than I’m about to describe it.

Warning, uhm.. Buckle the fuck down, it is not only a ride, but it is a LONG ride.

I physically had to calm down before typing this. Okay. This is slightly based off of the song ‘First Burn’ that was cut from the Hamilton musical (it has so much emotion that my mind can’t comprehend all at once), as I keep listening to it and it keeps expanding this idea and AU. Now onto the actual AU.

This has so many different angles. Some of these ideas are loosely based off of AU’s I’ve seen from other people, but don’t know who actually created them.

Firstly, it starts with the CCC going to the government base and pulling a few soldiers who willingly signed up for it. No one ever does it due to time, but these four thought ‘what the hell, why not’. The CCC doesn’t tell them that they’re trying to get control of the infinite multiverse, which had been an experiment of the past getting resurrected. Henry is that experiment, what they consider a ‘fail’, as they weren’t able to contain him or control him. They lost Henry, but Henry has control.

Rupert Price, my goddamn guinea pig with a lot of things, is one of them that signs up for the CCC, being left in the dark (along with the other three joining). The universe he gets sent to, not being replaced rather added, is a kingdoms universe. Advanced technology, bartering, the facts aren’t the same as they were, the CCC and the people within it? Not even a thing. Toppats and Government? Nope! The Wall? Not even a building! He got ‘spawned’, for lack of better words, into the kingdom of the sky, high in the mountains, and he had to make it seem like he was completely normal to that universe. Did it work? Barely passed. He was different and made into the writings of legends. He couldn’t tell this universe to the CCC, and broke down when he got pulled out of the test. He felt better there than in his own universe. It wasn’t fair! The CCC wasn’t going to use it for themselves!

Konrad Bukowski, the twin that thought could handle just about everything, signed up for the CCC in assumption that Calvin was doing the same, only to realize in horror that Calvin didn’t, and neither of them knew if he would return. Coming to the CCC program and being forced into it, he was set with Rupert in the way of him going into the place. The universe he was sent to was.. Needless to say, traumatizing. Monsters roamed the planet, all sorts of inhuman being, and with no knowledge of what the fuck was happening, he just booked it. The government was a thing, the Toppat’s weren’t a criminal organization, they were monsters hunters of the wild. NOT of those that were benefiting society, but those that would hunt and kill humans and other monsters with no remorse whatsoever. These also included human monsters. Yes, I’m talking about anyone who breaks laws and traumatize others, you really think they only were inhuman-monster hunters? Nope, versatile! But, what if the CCC got a hold of what they thought were more Toppat’s and damage the universe..? Are the CCC part of what the organization hunts? If it was the last breath he took, he would join these Toppat for the better.

Liam Rogers, a pilot that was sensitive to a lot of elements, was the most left in the dark about everything. Mask? Removed. Ear muffs? Removed. Any source of actual comfort? You guessed it, gone. On top of being overwhelmed with too much sound and light and too little comfort, he got sent to a place that was completely unknown. It was bright, he was crying, there wasn’t any comfort at all for him, until.. Well, he was found by an android of The Wall, brought along to the base and questioned immensely, while still overwhelmed, still crying, and still searching for the comfort he was stripped from. Once one of the few humans realized what was happening, he was finally able to get the relief of his overwhelmed senses and actually make proper sense of everything around him, it wasn’t a bad world. Peaceful of a lot of things, but it seemed very lackey in some areas, almost like something was missing.. Oh yeah, the huge criminal organization that wasn’t even talked about. Apparently, the Toppat’s were one of the first people to create androids for the world, but refused to make them for criminal purposes. Even more overwhelming shit, if the CCC ever got their hands on one of the more important androids of The Wall, it was over and done with. Was he going to let that happen? Fuck no!

And finally, Brian Reynold. Whoosh, this boy is gonna need a fucking hug and better therapy than what the basic military would even supply. A goddamn zombie apocalypse. Wouldn’t seem so bad, right? If it was a regular damn Walking Dead type! You know the type of zombies from Left 4 Dead 2? Yeah, THAT. Those types of zombies! First thing Brian got was a damn concussion and amnesia (faked, but he nearly started believing it himself), as well as a broken nose, busted cheek that went all the way down to his jaw, and his left ear drum becoming damaged from the shots being rang out near him. He was founded by a small group of survivors, this mainly being made of previous government officials, obviously not in a good shape at all, and just wanting back. The people he knew, scattered around on the ground, or needed to be gone. He can’t.. He couldn’t.. After so long, all of his senses became over-rid with the sense of survival, and even after being brought back, this wasn’t the Brian everyone knew. He was a paranoid, spastic, severally traumatized husk of what was a military man. The CCC can capitally fuck themselves if they think it’s a good idea to go into that universe. He’d rather go off the radar and force no one else to experience what the Hell he had to go through.

Robin Hood (Fate)

How I feel about this character: I love him. I really really really love him. He's Big Robin - the Archer who helped me through the beginnings of FGO for me and more, not to mention the main catalyst for me to get more seriously into FGO to begin with through my writing. Not to mention his episodes in Last Encore had me tempted to cry with how he was trying to stay loyal to Dan's spirit. Add in his sarcasm, poison-use (that is SO cool to me, along with his archery skills) and Heart of Gold throughout Summer 3, SERAPH, and Salem? I couldn't help but love him more, especially since he reminds me of my boyfriend <3

Any/all the people I ship romantically with this character: If not counting Mastersona Vy/Vy Duong who I write for in Passing Days? Um. Maybe Female Hakuno if she ever summoned him in Extra? Just because I've seen plenty of fanart of them together in Pixiv and that's the only ship I'm okay with.

My favorite non-romantic relationship for this character: Billy the Kid, Geronimo, and EMIYA. Just because all three bring out different sides of banter with him and it's really fun to see. An honorable mention to Mata Hari too, since he calls her "sis" in the Salem manga and I find his deferring to her and respecting her prowess really cute.

My unpopular opinion about this character: He really shouldn't be shoe-horned into being the lackey for very despicable characters. Big Robin deserves better than being a fucking lackey. Heck, I loved seeing his dynamic with Dan - the devs taking it out in CCC and putting in BB and his own (forced, by the way) abuse of Passionlip was not fun. Only reason I'm okay with Ibaraki and Melt in FGO canon is how Ibaraki and Melt are both shown later on to have their good sides, compared to BB who I still want to punt off the moon and into the dead of space to suffocate on her own data.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: I wish we could see him try to apologize and reconcile with Passionlip. Because from what little I've read of CCC, in any other circumstance, he would've never acted the way he did towards her. Not to mention I want to see him kick BB's ass and succeed, because BB is a bitch and Passionlip deserves better.

Favorite friendship for this character: Billy the Kid. No doubt about that.

My crossover ship: Hm. I'd be tempted to try seeing how Yukiko from Persona 4 would react to him, but I still need to finish Persona 4's anime to gauge that.

Miyamoto Musashi (Fate)

How I feel about this character: Shii-chan... I wasn't expecting to love her the way I did, but let it be said by the time I was at the end of Shimosa, I was tempted to scream at the same time as Guda and begging her not to go. Olympus didn't help. At all.

Any/all the people I ship romantically with this character: Probably Guda? That's the only one I can think of right now.

My favorite non-romantic relationship for this character: Mash and Holmes! Because I love how she helped both of them out with their confidence and fighting prowess in Olympus. Also Muramasa, because of how she calls him "Gramps." :>

My unpopular opinion about this character: She did not deserve to go out in a Deux Ex Machina boss fight to Chaos. Chaos was contrived, pointless, and unneeded. She was confidently bi and I WANTED TO KEEP HER, DAMMIT.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: DATA LOST MY ASS, I wanted to see Guda be successful in resummoning her in canon, goddammit. It's why I wrote things the way I did in Passing Days, because I'm so fucking tired of fake gods taking friends away like they're dominos on a board.

Favorite friendship for this character: Katou Danzo, Kotarou, Guda, Mash, the list goes on. :>

My crossover ship: Hm. Not sure on this one.

Kid Gil: Well that's the 10yo form of my Fate husband, of course I love him. I have...mixed feelings about him that I'll talk about later, but generally speaking I adore this little brat.

Abigail: DAUGHTER DAUGHTER ELDRITCH DAUGHTER I love her so much and I wish I could pull her but she's very rare and I have others to save for. She's still absolutely babey though and a good naughty girl.

Favorite moment

Gilles: NONE, DIE. But no in all seriousness, there's a bit in the Shimousa (or Salem?) manga where he talks to Dantes for a little, and that was actually kind of an interesting thing.

Will: None yet lmfao sorry bitch. Okay no wait, him and Hans fucking. Writing the Solomon and Sheba play while shitfaced ass drunk just to make us all suffer, but also thank you I love you that made my day even as I cried.

Jack: I REALLY NEED TO FUCKING FINISH APOCRYPHA. But in FGO, idk, she's just very sweet and baby in the events somehow and I love that all the time.

Solomon: IDK MAN THE REAL ONE WAS ONLY HERE FOR FIVE MINUTES BEFORE HE MCFUCKING DIED. I'm not counting that speech in Temple because it's too sad to be my favorite even if it was amazing. I'm cheating and pretending the Chaldean has at least a little of him in there and saying when he saves our ass from Kirsch that time in Atlantis and then is just like UGH DON'T LOOK AT ME at Fujimaru, like I AM LOOKING DISREPSECTFULLY SIR SORRY

Nero: She's a delight in Septem, but like, so many of her scenes in Extra slap extremely hard, I love her roast of Gawain especially, as does a lot of her my room scenes with Hakuno.

Kid Gil: Not gonna lie, I remember the scene in the Prisma*Illya manga where he absolutely mcfucking nukes someone for using Enkidu and I loved that very much.

Abigail: PANKEKI PANKEKI KURONEKO PANKEKI-- but also, her appearance in the Summercamp event was very sweet and funny.

Idea for a story

Gilles: I would not want to write a story about him XD but frankly, it might be interesting to explore the fact that we've more or less proven the child [redacted] and murder accusations were false, vs the evil psycho persona he's kinda shoved into by the Throne even so.

Will: FACE THE CONSEQUENCES OF YOUR ACTIONS AND TALK TO OBERON. But no, there could be some fun stuff with his NP if it does what I've heard it does in universe.

Jack: Babey Girl, go have some cute fun with your friends, have a nice day, no murder :)

Gilles: I do not think about him XD

Will: Hm....I'm not sure, I can't think of any XD He and Hans drunk write way too often for everyone's own good. Hans wouldn't even drunk, but Will MAYYYY be coerced into writing fanfic for people.

Jack: She really, really likes raspberry jam. Strawberry is also okay, but raspberry is her favorite. Put it on everything.

Solomon: UHHHHHHHHHH he's at least in part the Chaldean. He's not a generally good person as Solomon, he's very terse and grumpy. Let him live. He's tired.

Nero: Despite the whole Gilfest/Nerofest rivalry, Nero WILL hang out and drink with Gil sometimes, they get very loud and obnoxious (and they'll talk about Hakuno sometimes).

Kid Gil: This is implied in some My Room dialogue and probably in Hollow Ataraxia which I haven't read, but I do definitely double down on the idea that Kid Gil isn't actually what Gil was like as a child, but the what the Gil we know in the present day would be like if he were a child. That's Kid Gil, not Gil as a kid. And he's very aware of this, and he wonders quite a bit about what he was ACTUALLY like.

Abigail: In my 'verse, she is one of the only people aware of the fact that my Fujimaru is running in a reset timeline, as the first one was a terminal bad end my Fujimaru's little brother - the Master at the time - reset to let his sister have a try. She's extra protective of my Fujimaru for his sake, because Big Brother wouldn't want anything to happen to his big sister.

Hariti and Amaterasu might be the good candidate for KD's two other goddesses

Okay so for Hariti, I can absolutely see that.

Amaterasu…less so.

Let me explain why-

KD’s whole thing (besides being a sadistic hateful little thing) is she’s meant to be “a nurse”. HER unique skill is “Insect Eater” only works against other Sakura AI - it’s essentially a cannibalizing skill (it’s basically the only thing that can hurt the original Sakura AI since it’s purpose is only to hurt Sakuras). “Repulsion For One’s Kin” is her other unique skill, and it’s another reference to her “being a nurse program” - she gets rid of bugs. Flawed programming.

Now; why does Hariti work with this, and Amaterasu doesn’t (in my mind)?

She is both considered a protector of children, and a stealer of children. A guardian of children, and a killer of children. It’s this contradictory nature matches KD’s own - a flawed program made to delete flawed programs. She is a Sakura AI nurse with no patients, as no Sakura AI needs her.

Amaterasu, as Fate has discussed her…really doesn’t fit as a component. Inside of Extra CCC, Amaterasu calls herself a Beast Candidate. Honestly it’s …weirdly unflattering for the mythological mother of Japan (as she’s believed to be the mother of the first emperor), since she’s treated more like a “a monster that can not be beaten”.

Hariti definitely fits as a component to me. As for who would be the third component, honestly—

Kronos I mean it’s not like we’re actually caring what’s a fucking goddess anymore right considering Kingprotea has a fucking **elephant** and he certainly the fits the cannibalistic style of her skills listen I’m not crazy here

Honestly since her skill relates to insects, and her duty is to “get rid of bugs”, maybe Bhramari - she is believed to either be a form of Lakshimi (Pancharata texts), or a form of Parvati (Shaivism), but is considered largely an incarnation of the Adi Shakti (Supreme Goddess) (Shaktism). Her major story (to my understanding!) is in the Devi Buagavata Purana (Book 10, Chapter 13); wherein insects save the day by being the only things that can kill an asura who terrifies the other Devis

Now of course I’d love to consider maybe Hittite mythology, or Egyptian, or the Khoi or San traditions — but let’s be honest Fate barely likes to acknowledge the Egyptians.

Or whatever maybe it’s Kama, his bow is made of honeybees in some descriptions. Just throw him in there too why not.

TOPPAT! CHARLES! PART! 11!

RECAP: Charles is back on Earth, safe and sound, but his recovery is starting on shaky ground. Henry is on the top of Dmitri's hit list and the CCC wants Henry and the government to take out the Toppat Clan. Charles and Henry reunite and so begins Charles's recovery.

I will also be bringing in a headcanon that I made a while back.

With that said and done, let's go on with the story:

Charles is sleeping in his bed, finally feeling safe and rested after so long, until he wakes up at the feeling of water on his skin. He panics as the water continues to rise, but can't really swim up because he is being held and pulled down by his ankle by Right, who smiles at him. He manages to break the surface and grab onto a ledge, which he uses to try and pull himself out.

Henry stands at this ledge as well, only to kneel and shove Charles's headback below the water.

THANKFULLY, Charles is just dreaming, as Henry is trying to wake him up.

Charles does wake up, but he's so delirious he barely notices he's still restrained to his bed.

He eventually calms down and relaxes in front of Henry.

"H-Hey. Morning," he says as normally as possible, even though he's on the brink of tears.

Henry rubs his head, wordlessly encouraging his friend to not hold back how he feels, and Charles calms down.

The medic gets him checked up and out of bed, he's been there for a week, and Henry gives Charles something he's too happy for words to have: His medicine for his ADD. (Sort of explains a lot, if you think about it.)

"Thanks."

Henry nods and helps Charles stand up and walk to the showers; he hasn't showered in a while, even though he was allowed to the restroom.

There are a lot of eyes on them, but it's quick glances, which Charles really tries to ignore.

When they get to the showers, Henry signs, 'If you want, I'll wait outside for you.'

"You don't have to." Charles stands very shakily in front of Henry and smiles both to his friend and himself. "See? I... I can stand on my own."

Henry nods, but leans against the wall. 'I'll still stand here, just in case. Okay?'

Charles nods and goes to take his shower.

IT'S NOT PEACEFUL OR CALMING AT ALL.

Remember that mind fuck from Right in Part 4? Well, it stuck. As did the torture inflicted upon him.

He tries to feel a bit of calmness, tries to relax because he's safe. He has a moment of calm and numbness as he examines his hand, where Galedorce shot him, but panics when he feels a hand on his shoulder.

"Like being home, kid? D'you really think you'll be staying here?"

Charles wheels around fast enough to slip and fall down, but only looks behind him.

No one's there.

Charles puts a hand on his chest and realizes he's breathing really hard and his heart is POUNDING in his chest.

Yeah he's a little more fucked up than he thought.

Henry knocks on the divider of the shower, that shhet of plastic that's kind of like the plastic in public bathrooms.

"I-I'm fine. Just slipped."

Charles stays on the floor for a minute before quickly finishing up and turning off the water.

Henry has more decency Right, because he passes Charles the towel through a gap in the curtain and woth his back turned; regardless of if they were roommates, privacy is still privacy and it's a boundary Henry will not cross. He's missed his friend, but hasn't missed not that badly.

Charles dries off and gets dressed from clothes Henry passed him.

There's two more surprises waiting for Charles when he walks out of the shower.

When he rejoins Henry, Henry holds something out for him: his red headset.

Charles slips those on, and starts feeling like himself again, but one thing's still off.

Henry lightly taps on his shoulder and shows Charles a pair of scissors, which accidentally sends Charles into a panic.

"Wait! You don't have to-"

Henry quickly pockets the scissors and signs an apology before making a pair of scissors with his fingers and pretends to cut his hair; 'Need a haircut?'

Charles examines his long hair and calms down a little bit. "Yeah. Yeah, that'd be... Yeah."

Henry nods and they walk over to the sinks.

It takes a little bit, and some memory, but eventually Charles looks like himself again, short haired, headsetted, and donned in his pilot gear. It is the most natural he's looked and felt and he doesn't know how to process it, aside from, 'what happened to you?'

Henry ruffles his hair as he fights a laugh.

"What's so funny?"

'Scruffy.'

Charles turns to him and lets a grin grow on his face as he points to Henry's buzzcut. "That's funny, coming from you."

Henry just lightly flicks Charles on the arm, giving a him a, "You fucker." smile and messing with his hair.

Charles waves away his hand and gasps as he almost falls down again.

Henry catches him and puts his arm over his shoulders.

"Sorry. Guess I'm... not in the best shape."

Henry helps him out of the showers and the two walk to Galeforce's office.

Turns out, Ellie happens to be there as well.

"Charles!" She cries as she goes to hug him, because it's good to have him back.

Charles flinches back, out of Henry's grip, and into the door, which makes her freeze in her steps.

"Oh! I-I'm sorry, I just-"

"It's fine," Charles replies. "I'm... I'm glad to see you, too."

Ellie smiles at him and he smiles back.

"Nice reunion, but can we focus?" Rupert asks.

The three turn their attention to Galeforce, who gives Rupert a very, 'stop with the salt' look.

"I know it's been a while since you three saw each other, but you'll have to save it for later. We've got work to do."

Henry nods, Ellie pulls up a chair, and Charles stands up a little straighter.

"We don't know how long we have until the Toppat Clan makes another move, so we better start moving so we're ready. I'm guessing you two have some ideas?" Galeforce points between Ellie and Henry.

"I don't, but Henry does."

And Henry tries to hold back a smirk as he takes out a piece of paper from his pocket and hands it to Galeforce.

It's a crude sketch of the orbital station, but there's a sort of pill shape on the inside of it with a question mark next to it and fire coming out of the thrusters. Next to that is the station pointed at Earth.

Galeforce smirks at this. "Take out the core, and send the whole send thing back down."

Charles gulps at the idea, and fights the urge to throw up.

"But all the pilots we sent in the destroyers are dead," Rupert argues. "How do we get to the core, then?"

Ellie humms a, "Weeeellll..." and turns her eyes to Charles, who looks between her, a skeptical Henry, and Galeforce, who returns with an apologetic look on his face.

"No," Charles says as he backs into the door again, which Rupert locks with a button under Galeforce's desk. "No, I'm not... I-I'm not doing it"

"Charlie, I know it scares you, but we need-"

"SCARES me!?" Charles snaps. "I was locked up there-" He points upward, to the the sky, more specifically the orbital station(I almost typed 'moon,' lmao). "-For almost a year! I saw each and every one of those pilots you sent die. I was-" Charles lowers his head and hand before hugging himself. "After everything... After everything they did to me, you really think I'm just scared to go back?" He holds his wounded hand to his chest, cradling it as he curls forward. "I...I can't do it."

"Charlie-"

"I can't! YOU CAN'T MAKE ME!"

With a really good kick he remembered from military training, Charles breaks his way out and makes a run for it.

"Wait, Charles!" Ellie shouts as Henry races after him.

Henry is in peak physical condition and Charles is malnourished and weak, so it's easy for Henry to catch up to and tackle down Charles, though he still tries to be careful.

"Stop! Let me go!" Charles cries as he tries to break free. "I'm not going back there! You can't make me! LET GO OF ME, HENRY!"

Henry just holds him tighter and hums, "Mm-mm!"

"I CAN'T GO BACK THERE! THEY'LL KILL ME! I CAN'T GO BACK! LET GO!"

"NO!"

The shout silences Charles instantly.

"I can't... I'm not letting you run away." Henry holds Charles as close as he can, vaguely feeling how thin his body is under his clothes. "I don't want to go back, either. I don't want you to go through it all again. I'm sorry. We need to get to that core and navigation, and you know how it all looks inside. We need you, Charles."

Charles holds on to Henry's arms, his friend trembling as he fights a sob of his own.

"Ellie and I will be on the station with you, no matter what. We won't let you go. I won't let him take you away again. I swear."

Even though Henry's voice gives out at that last part, Charles sniffles and nods, Henry letting him turn so they can hug for real.

Ellie catches up to them, having been spoken to by Galeforce and Rupert before catching up.

The two look up at her and she joins them in a group hug, Triple Threat officially reuniting after nearly a year apart.

AND BEFORE YOU THINK CHARLES'S SHIFT FROM HOSTILE TO 'GLAD I'M HOME' IS TOO SUDDEN:

Charles is in his own room and bed, tossing and turning as he has another nightmare. This time, he sees himself in the mirror, the one from Toppat-ing, glaring at him.

"You're worse than both of them put together. First you joined the Clan, now you're back with the government. Who's the real traitor here?"

"That's not true," Charles barks with a cough. "I didn't want to join, but what choice did I have?"

"Do you really think they'd just take you back after you STOLE for the Toppat Clan? You know what the General does to traitors."

Charles throws a punch into the mirror, shattering it to pieces.

He freezes as a pair of arms wrap around him from behind, one from under his arm and holding his shoulder while the other holds his chin.

"Face it: You're a tool for both of them to use. They're going to do it again, use you to get to the orbital station until you've done your job. You know how much the General hates liabilities."

Charles bites back a groan as he feels his toppat self turn his head to the point ot causes more than a little discomfort.

"Useless and a traitor."

He yelps at the vertebrae in his neck popping.

"Why did you bother coming back?"

As he hears his neck snap, Charles screams as he wakes up and jolts off of his back.

His heart's racing and he's covered in sweat. With a gulp and a few deep breaths, he calms himslef enough to leave the room he's in and walk to Henry's and Ellie's room.

He sees himself a lot, but tries to ignore him.

He freezes when he sees Right standing by a window and staring up at the sky.

"Hmmm. Yeah. Not that impressive from down 'ere." Right turns his head to Charles, the cybernetic eye piercing right through him. "Kinda starting to miss you, kid. You were fun."

Charles's breathing picks up and he shakes his head before sort of smacking himself with his hands, just enough to snap himself out of seeing Right.

And it works.

He walks into Ellie's and Henry's room and hesitantly shakes Henry awake, which gets him up easily.

'What's wrong?'

"Is... Is it okay if I... If I sleep with you?"

Henry taps his forehead and shakes his hand a little. 'Nightmare?'

Charles looks away from him and nods. "I know it's dumb, but I can't go back to sleep. I'll just have another one and then the medic has to come to my room and check on me and it's late at night and I don-"

Henry shushes Charles and scoots over a little in his bed, making enough room for Charles to slip in, which he does.

They're back to back at first, but Henry puts an arm around Charles when he feels him shaking.

"Thank you," Charles murmurs as Henry holds him close.

Henry lets out a small sigh when he sees Charles sleeping and dozes off himself, holding Charles as he sleeps.

AND THAT'S PART 11!!! A lot Stickvin in this part, and a lot of reminders for Charles of what he went through. AND NO REST FOR THE WICKED.

I hope you guys enjoyed this part, I tried to make it longer and Charles may be going through this quickly, but I figured since he was already part of the government and knows how to get through stuff a little easier- well, as long as it isn't like this.

Fate 21, 22, 23

Now because of the very nature of Fate and Fate Grand Order in particular, you can make the arguments that there aren’t a whole lot of crack ships in general? Now if we’re talking about the regular ol’ human and mage characters then that’s one thing and I don’t have any strong opinions on that. Ship what you want as long as it’s not, like, incest or pedophilia.

However if we’re talking servants or ships that involve servants?? Understand I’m going to mostly talk about FGO because that’s the part of the franchise I’m most familiar with, but

One of the most popular ships is literally between the alternate darker versions of Jeanne d’Arc and King Arthur who is also a woman in this.

Now there’s context for this but that doesn’t make that sentence not buck wild, right? Another ship the game teases is between Martha (like, Saint Martha) and Sasaki Kojiro who is technically one of many possible nameless swordsmen who can take up the mantle of Sasaki Kojiro by taking up and mastering his techniques. As far as ships I’ve seen art of, there’s Semiramis and Amakusa, Gilgamesh and Arturia (King Arthur but woman, also this ship is one of divided opinion for very good reason), and even Tesla and Thomas Edison. You know, Tesla and the guy that stole his inventions--oh but let’s not forget that in the Fateverse Thomas Edison is merged with all of the American presidents which for some reason makes him a fucking buff punch wizard with the head of a LION.

I’m rambling, but my point is: by the very nature of Fate, there aren’t a whole lot of characters you can stick together and properly call it a crack ship. It’s one part of the ridiculous that I love about Fate, which is that you don’t have to go out of your way to imagine any number of scenarios between all sorts of colorful characters.

This is....Hard for me to answer. Very hard.

So, the thing is, there aren’t any popular characters I can say that I hate. Either because the popular characters in the Fateverse tend to be popular for more reasons beyond the fact that they’re pretty (The original VN was an eroge, yes, but that was because of marketing. You take out or ignore the eroge scenes and you have a well-written, interesting visual novel) OR it’s because I just simply don’t have enough context for that character.

For the latter, let me use Tamamo and Nero for example. These are two characters that I KNOW are popular. They’re also characters I’m not super fond of--however, that’s possibly because I don’t know them well enough. I’ve played through Fate Grand Order and Fate Extella Link. I’m currently playing through Fate Extra for the first time, but I’m on Archer’s route. I have not played Extella Link or the other two routes in Extra, I have not watched a playthrough of CCC yet, I have not watched Last Encore, I have not read Foxtail, I have not played through Extella. 

That’s a lot of context, story, and character for those two that I haven’t experienced yet. I don’t like Nero’s character in FGO because they try to erase everything she did wrong in life, or just sweep it under the rug. However, I’ve heard that she’s written much better in the game that she debuts in, Fate Extra, and that the loose anime adaptation of it, Last Encore, has something good too.

Tamamo just...Bores me. But! I know even less of her character than Nero. It’s way too soon for me to say whether or not I dislike her when I’m only taking her at face value.

I may not like the two of them for now, but my answer may change once I have all the information.

Again, I can’t say that I there are any popular characters I hate, however...

Robin Hood (pretty sure he’s at least fairly popular) is one character that I do like, but not nearly as much as I’ve seen. I just...Don’t really get the hype? Again, haven’t played through Extella or watched someone play CCC but I HAVE played past his roles in Extra and FGO. Like I like him but I can’t say he’s a favorite of mine, or even near that spot.

Nightingale, however...Nightingale I don’t like. I don’t hate her but I don’t like her either. There were spans of time in the America singularity that I was either bored or annoyed with because of her. Does she make good points and say some dope shit occasionally? Yeah. Most of the rest of her dialogue however felt very very repetitive. Like yes I know that your shtick is that you’re a nurse and you’re here to treat the illness and disease in the singularity and Cu Alter is a prime candidate for treatment because his character as he is in that current iteration is diseased, yes yes yes. But there’s only so many times I can read her talk about illness and disease before it starts to get on my nerve. Yeah she has Madness Enhancement EX, but you know who else does? Saber Gilles. Cu Alter has it too, and they’re both coherent. Also, and more importantly, I fucking hate her pose. The art in her ascensions is fine, but the pose?? I get what it’s supposed to be but it looks so stiff. It’s an insignificant detail but she looks like a balloon person and it’s upsetting.

There are...A few. But I’m gonna talk the most in detail about one of my earliest favorites when I first got into Fate. I just mentioned him, actually.

Saber Gilles. I need to specify the class because his Caster self and Saber self are completely different (well, no? It’s complicated) and Saber is the one that’ll always hold a place in my heart.

Because I have a very soft spot for pious people who are goaded by a darker side and struggle with that darkness. Saber Gilles de Rais is not the infamous Bluebeard. Saber Gilles de Rais is the man that came before Bluebeard, the one who was known for fighting alongside Jeanne d’Arc. Saber Gilles is lawful good while Caster Gilles is Chaotic Evil. At a glance, these two are completely different, but the horrifying (and there’s beauty in that horror) truth is that he’s not. And nobody feels that horror quite like Saber Gilles himself.

Fate Grand Order tells of Gilles’ struggle not through words, but through visuals.

In his first ascension, you have him in his ‘purest’ state. You can literally call him a knight in shining armor. This is the honorable man that fought alongside Jeanne, plain and simple.

Then you have the second ascension, and you can immediately tell he’s been tainted. Something isn’t right. His cloth is bloodied, some of his armor has been stripped away and you can see a bit of a dark cloak resembling what he wore as Bluebeard--having replaced that white cape. In his hand he holds a sword. His armor has become sharper, more detailed. He is still a general, yes, but something in him has changed.

Then, the third ascension. It’s a dramatic change. One thing to note is that when servants ascend, they generally gain something in appearance, but Gilles? Gilles has lost. More than half his armor is gone, and now you can very plainly see that Bluebeard-esque garment underneath. The chestpiece bearing a cross? Gone. Every piece of white cloth? Gone. And in his left hand he holds Prelati’s Book. For context, Prelati is the being that convinced Gilles to give into his darker impulses and that led to Bluebeard, or Caster Gilles. That book is also what Caster Gilles wields. In this third ascension we finally see the man who struggles with and fears what he knows he becomes. 

Again, Saber Gilles is not Caster Gilles, cannot but Caster Gilles, but the two are not so different. Caster Gilles is not an alter of Saber Gilles, after all, but rather the two are the same man at different points in his life. As we ascend him we see him transverse the point between when he is a man with strength in his convictions, to a man fighting an inner conflict and change that is coming but will never come to him. Servants generally don’t change much because they are aspects of heroic spirits, but Saber Gilles has to change.

It’s even reflected in his battle sprites. Notice the change in the third sprite? His smile and optimism: gone.

Then, we get to his final ascension art.

THIS. This is still one of my favorite final ascension arts if not my favorite. I’m pretty sure I can’t say anything about it that I haven’t already said above, so I think it’s okay to let the image speak for itself. It’s so fucking beautiful and telling all on it’s own. The angel and devil over your shoulder imagery. Note how it’s not the side with the angel that’s closer to the viewer, that’s in the foreground. I love everything about this piece and if I could buy this as a big poster to hang up in my room I would do that in a heartbeat.

I just love Saber Gilles so, so much. The way he’s written has me smitten. I know it likely won’t ever happen, but I desperately wish he gets another interlude in the future, or a serious role in an event.

...Okay, so I did want to discuss some others but this post is long enough, so I’ll just say some other unpopular characters I love are Fionn Mac Cumhaill, Amadeus Mozart, Fergus, Yagyu (more underrated than unpopular), CALIGULA, Mephistopheles, PHANTOM, Gilgamesh (NOT unpopular just decisive and one of my big favs so I have to mention him), and Salieri if he counts. Really tried to get a lady in there but I can’t think of any that are unpopular. I’m only thinking of the FGO cast because the roster is already so long.

I wouldn’t mind (read: I would LOVE) if someone asked this question again so I can go into detail about some of my other unpopular favorites. I have more that err on the more popular side too, because my heart is big and full of love. OR just straight up send me an ask, anon or not, because I have a lot to say.

You wanna hear my headcannons about the actual thsc characters?? To bad!!! /j/lh (under the cut cus this is long lol)

1. What’s your oc’s most irrational fear? Is there a specific reason this fear came about?

They’re really afraid of something happening to their neck, like you know, that kind of stuff, ouch, no real reason for this fear, they just have it. They’re also really afraid of being abandoned and being alone oof

2. Is your oc picky about food? What kinds of foods do they like and dislike? What do they consider a comfort or “safe” food?

They hate tomatoes and milk with a passion, but otherwise most foods are okay with them, it’s more about the texture for them, not the taste, but if it has a weird texture, big oof moments. They really like any sort of fast food (except Wendy’s) and they love Dr Pepper so much lol

3. What does your oc’s voice sound like? (Or, if you have one, what’s their voiceclaim?) Can they sing, whistle, or roll their rs? Do they have any speech impediments or notable dialects/accents?

Their voice basically sounds like mine, but low key deep, and kinda raspy too. They can sing alright, not great but they like singing along to songs. They can whistle really well, the kind of really good whistling that pisses you off >:) lol. they cannot roll their r’s lol haha loser can’t roll their r’s :’). they used to have a stutter as a kid and it comes out when they’re really upset.

4. Is your oc good at keeping secrets?

They are great at keeping secrets, because they care a lot :), but also cus they have terrible memory and will probably forget it lol

5. What kind of clothes is your oc most comfortable wearing?

Their usual comfy everyday outfit is just a t-shirt and jeans, and hoodie when it’s cold. Same thing at home, but sweatpants or pj shorts

Dresses >:( they’re ugly and uncomfortable, also flip flops, they hate them (they wear crocs lmao)

No thoughts head empty, jk it’s a mess, they may seem really chill and confident on the outside, but on the inside they are always worried about saying the wrong thing and scaring people away, they just want friends :’(

Nothing much, they don’t like thinking about the future, they just go with the flow really, not good but whelp, it’s going ok so far. NO relationships tho, they are aroace, but boy do they wish they had some friends oof

Usually... no one, maybe their cat or maybe their mom, but in the time where Evans is friends with Ocelot (Coelpts oc), they would go to him about literally everything lol and then get worried about annoying him oof

Not really, they have a bunch of hobbies, but cringe culture is dead so they are open about them all to whoever asks, but no one ever does aaa, but they do stuff like gaming, drawing, knitting, embroidery, baking, cooking, model trains, lots of stuff

12. How does your oc handle talking to somebody they can’t stand? What if it’s a situation where they’re forced to work with this person?

They don’t lol, they don’t take shit from no one and will say to their face that they don’t like them lol, but if they have to work with them, they will cooperate, but their gonna be a bastard about it

A cozy cottage in the woods, with lots of hiking trails all around, a chicken coop, and close to their friend’s house :’)

14. If your oc spent one day free from any consequences or recognition for their actions, how would they act?

They wouldn’t do much lol, probably just steal a bunch of Dr Pepper and snacks from the store

15. What’s your oc’s morning routine like?

They wake up at like 6 am and scroll on their phone in bed for a bit, and then get up at 7:45 to get ready lol, and leave at 8 to got to work, I mean it works but wtf Evans

They usually just sit on the couch with their cat and some snack and watch TV or play games for a while before going to bed and scrolling on their phone for like an hour before finally passing out

They have a Tumblr, they don't make many posts, just reblog stuff, and they would totally share their fucking home address  if someone asked nicely, they are unhinged

They look at themself and think ‘woah that’s one sexy motherfucker’, they are a bastard man with way too much confidence, I don’t have any other os’s that would interact with them, but Ocelot totally thinks of them as just a big dumb puppy (he would never say that out loud tho lol)

19. How would an enemy describe this oc?

An arrogant son of a bitch (and they’d be right >:D)

20. What’s a superpower or magical ability that this oc would hate having?

Being able to read peoples minds, they would hate this so much, because it would make them feel evil and uncomfy, and they don’t wanna know what people are thinking about them, they think it’ll be bad oof

They are nonbinary, AFAB, they used to wear a binder but they got top surgery at 20 years old, now they don’t wear a shirt at the beach and they’re making that everyone else's problem!! >:D

They work for the CCC right now, and they had their dream job as an agent, but the promotion they got kind of ruined the dream, and their job is boring to them now

They have their mom, who is really great, their dad died when they were young, they don’t have any siblings, and they aren’t close with any other family. But, any friends they have they immediately get really attached to and think of as family

24. What is one thing that, no matter who it’s coming from, would anger your oc?

Getting called a coward (haha Marty McFly kinnie lmao), they are not a coward >:( (this gets them in a lot of trouble sometimes oof)

Not well oof, they mostly just cry a bunch and eat a lot, anything to get their mind off it

Basically the same as with sadness but with furrowed eyebrows and ranting to their cat

They are pretty brave so not much scares them, and they have to be brave for others, but when it comes to stuff that really scares them or just plain anxiety, they usually try to calm down as best they can, or they just run, they can run fast too

EOR SE.RA.PH Singularity: Final Act~END

At last the final part of this whole Singularity Chapter 1.5! It’s considered canon in ways but..... Why can’t DW just turn this to an actual main story chapter instead of that coming hell Singularity.... Sure it has about the same reason, but... Nevermind, time to finish this CCC collab

Final Act (1/5)

Inside BB’s studio at last, the final boss of this entire Singularity, or is it? With Tristan’s push, Gudas began their interrogation at BB for answer we’ve been waiting for. Suzuka totally not sorry while she apologize for siding with Gudas after betraying her. Tama Cat began going around on her own to inspect the whole area... Along with Lip, deciding to tell off her stupid mother once and for all

Don’t even fake your surprise when you knew Lip will betray you eventually. Aside from her R18 mouth, we’re starting our fight with her! Obviously we’re fighting until our death since our way in is our way out. And you probably locked it to ensure we get torture to death... So bring it on, AI!

One beating from Saint Martha later.... Someone looks damn cheerful for getting defeated as a villain. Yeah... And a blackout?! What the? Suzuka, everyone!!

After blocking an ambush... We’re in a place... With all those children inside the casket?! What the hell is going on here?!?!?!?!! This is similar to Chaldea with the coffin but.... So many....

Suzuka instantly realized the children’s magical circuits are what powering SE.RA.PH this whole time. All 128 children used as decoy Masters to summon the Servants. Emiya Alter then shows up.... So it’s finally here we know what Seraphix really is

Final Act (2/5)

The Celestial Body Simulator, System Animusphere aka the Heart of Seraphix..... Young children taken and immediately used by Seraphix and later Zepar to summon all 128 Servants. Children that’s already gone has their body used to power up Seraphix.

Must admit, I’m thankful to Emiya Alter for at least giving these children’s soul to rest in peace after a long suffering. And now that we know.... Emiya Alter corroded by some darkness is coming after the Gudas’s life as they are no longer needed.

While declaring his motive, another voice summarized his motive for us... But.... Robin! You’re alright?! Don’t ask us what the hell happened to Emiya Alter, help us now!! Save your reminsince banter with Lip for later!

After... After beatng Emiya Alter.... He...... He’s still trying to do what’s right........ What the fuck, Mable?! What the fuck are you doing here?!!! Where the hell were you and Arnold!!

What do you mean by that? We don’t even want to fight him in the first place! And Tama Cat? As she realized what’s beneath under Mable’s persona... A member of Tachikawa School of Buddishm? Her? Who is she?! What’s going on, Cat?!

Complying easily to remove her mask... “Mable” then undisguised her to reveal... A Buddhist nun? Wait, you’re the therapist for the church here?!! Kiara then reveals she’s the one who worked with Zepar. But she’s not a Demon God or anything... A human? No... So you say.... You worked together with Zepar.... But You’re..... BEAST III, one of the Seven Evils of Humanity: The Beast of Pleasure!!!!

Final Act (3/5)

Beast.... III.... A Beast..... The third Evil of Humanity....?! Kiara then reveals how she became one in a way... Where our Kiara was another victim of Zepar to be killed instead of CCC Kiara’s history.

So she’s the one Zepar made in contact with but... Because of that, that’s why the whole of Seraphix become a human body. Despite lamenting her pain, someone had one hell of lustful face. Robin managed to snap Guda out from Kiara and questioned if she was the one who summoned BB

Kiara confirmed it with Zepar teaching her of parallel world, eventually knowing CCC’s Kiara herself and the history. Because of what she achieved, the Kiara we know is merged with CCC’s Kiara. So from Lip’s summary, instead of digitizing Seraphix... He used Kiara to give SE.RA.PH a form

While Kiara tried to stop him, she no doubt failed since it was human against a demon god pillar. CCC’s version of Kiara swallowed all of the Sakuraface from Lip’s memory, hence they became sentinel from there. Although Zepar managed to convert Seraphix, Kiara then made use of BB and Gudas to run it.

....... Even saying she’s grateful and giving her gratitude for tryng to save Seraphix, that fake applause isn’t buying anyone here. Suzuka then stepped forward, knowing everything she said so far are lies or half-truth instead.

Demanding she confess, Suzuka asked where’s Zepar current location, how many Servants she swallowed as her body and Seraphix are one. Or... She’s the one who tricked every Master to come here in hopes getting their wishes come true!!

Not even guilty that she killed all the Servants.... Kiara even admits in pleasure of the killings she did on the Masters too. Robin was even surprised that BB never said, while both Suzuka and Gudas shows disgust at what she done. Good saying there, Robin! That’s something we agree no doubt, we definitely cannot let Kiara live this point onward!!

There’s a difference between patient and a sense morality, Gudas may have same or not amount of patience as you... But their sense of morality is completely way different than yours!! Suzuka immediately unleashed her Noble Phantasm at her, along with Tama Cat.

But... What the hell?! As Kiara disappeared, Seraphix hit the seabed... No we’re going all the way to the Earth’s Core?!!?!?! So that’s her plan all along?! Kiara’s voice revealed further of how she’ll use Earth to save all of humanity.... And, the place soon changes to her lair where Kiara’s true form is shown.

Not even thinking of giving up, Tristan’s threat is even useless to her to make her stop SE.RA.PH from sinking further. She merely smirked to say we can easily be defeated since we’re at the palm of her hand...?

...... Nothing really hits her.... And everyone was killed.... Kiara even knows about Goetia. Commenting all he know was destruction, she may still weak but.... And then.... Before Gudas was about to get eaten... BB stepped in to save us?! Immediately reyshifting with Lip’s help away from her lair to....

Final Act (4/5)

Zepar’s inner monologue begins at the start of the chapter. Unlike its comrade, it sees potential in humanity rather than destruction. After choosing Seraphix as it’s considered “unobservable region” from Flauros’s POV, it stayed to recover. Eventually deciding to use our world’s Kiara to hide Chaldea’s detection. A church therapist eventually hated by Seraphix members for her innate kindness.

If it weren’t for his intervention, our Kiara would’ve led a modest but happy life. Though it noticed there’s something more of her, so it acted while Kiara was asleep. And at some point, Kiara eventually agree to allow Zepar to use her body to save everyone.

Manipulating everyone in Seraphix with her help, Zepar even succumbed to human lust at some point of its work. Eventually, things turned around where she manipulated the Demon God. Once Seraphix was converted to SE.RA.PH, Kiara become an indispensable member to them... And the one who started the killing fest between the co-workers.

Wow... Even Demon God eventually got a better sense of morality once it sees the hellish sight it become. Once entered the planetarium... Kiara then have it summoned BB and 128 Servants. At this point, she got it completely wrapped by her fingers and ruled SE.RA.PH.

Kiara then learned more from Zepar about the Demon Gods and their current situation. Zepar then begged once it regretted so much for choosing and corrupting her. That explains the Zepar we met, is now a hollowed body with no soul at all.

Once Zepar disappeared, BB then confront Kiara about this. But the latter merely brushed it off like it’s nothing... Which BB then tempered the files of every personnel death before moving onto the Holy Grail War.

So while waiting for SE.RA.PH to emerge, that’s where they began summoning more Servants to amuse herself.

Final Act (5/5)

Now back to the Gudas, we’re transported into a classroom?! I guess the useless AI is useful for once huh, Robin. Both Melt and Lip are okay as well, phew... Uh, you did nothing so just get to your point of why saving us when you want us dead, stupid AI?

In summary, we all definitely died, even the Gudas too. But BB rewind the time before our death to save and reyshift us away from there. Uh again, not really. Coming from a brainless AI, you’re just more stupid than scary.

As they asked more further about the time, we can go back all the way to the time before Gudas arrived. But, we’re definitely stuck here within Kiara’s grasp. BB then admits she’s more of forced to do Kiara’s bidding than an actual follower.... But Robin got a point in defeating Kiara, since this isn’t Tiamat or Goetia at all.

Wait... We’re fighting half of Beast III aka the R side? Right or aka Rapture... So for this case and a certain one in Proto-type, it comes in pair? So, at this rate, she’ll completely become the Beast III/R like a butterfly coming out from the cocoon.

Using SE.RA.PH to become Beast but still bound to SE.RA.PH.... Hence she and the planet will fuse once she reached Earth’s core. So that’s where KP points come in with BB special items to beat her.

Selfish and stupid AI will always be that way, Robin. Might as well use this time to finish up all the quest we have to defeat her. Yeah yeah, oh useless AI, we’re still going buy from you so spare us of you being hardworking there. 

Later before going off, Melt came looking for the Gudas. The Sakurafaces reveals their own attachment to this classroom... As a fragment memory of a certain girl in CCC always looking at her Senpai. Thanking her that she’s joining us, Melt laughed and brushed off at how weird Gudas are for acting sentimental around her. But to her, we’ll always be her one and only Master once they returned back to their world.

But before Gudas can interrogate her, Melt admit that she hides nothing yet knowing there’s already something wrong within her.... 

Epilogue (1/2)

Buying every single buff+debuff in KP shop for an easier fight.... Kiara greeted us that we returned back to face her. Whether a moth or not, we’re coming here to stop you once and for all. And we heard better threats than your sexual harrassment too, Kiara.

Ouch, nice job Melt! That’s not a burn that can be healed by remove debuff for a long while on hitting her age. And unlike you, Kiara, Melt isn’t as much of nut job as you are despite her tsundere side.

Offering once more for Gudas to join her... They asked why did she become a Beast instead? We are not as crazy despite the amount of insanity the Servants available in Chaldea. Nevertheless, she replied she was envious...? Unfair? Seems like the joy of relishing Zepar’s memories in Solomon Singularity made her feel envy and to desire in feeling the same of countless of heroic spirits killing her.... As such her a mere human, unable to make that dream come true....

Unfortunately for you nut job, stupid AI have them start a killing fest so there’s only a few of us left. Also, it’s completely decided we’re never be able to come to terms with each other. Like Beast who love humanity in a twisted way, Melt described accurately all traits Kiara has. Even Alter Egos like the Sakura five are disgusted of her existence, sans BB for later reason.

In her eyes of her world, Kiara is the only “human” and everyone is nothing but “animals” before her..... Regardless what tragic past you have, Emiya Alter was only doing his job because of what you are. And you’re right, enough of this chit chat... For Emiya Alter... For Chaldea... For the world and humanity... We’ll not worshipped you as a god, but a Beast to be destroyed as an evil Demon! 

Epilogue (2/2)

Excluding her unnecessary comment, the Gudas and everyone dealt a fatal blow against her! But before everything ends, Kiara complimented their effort in fighting her... The area around her is collasping, and she’s dragging us along with it!!

Lip calls for everyone to hold her hands before we got suck in with her. Going down further, Lip also detected Zepar’s true presence from SE.RA.PH itself. Even if Gudas did win this Holy Grail War, the way back home is a trip to Hell first. Once laughing the last laugh, Melt decided to have Gudas used all their Command Seals on Lip and her for a powerful Noble Phantasm blast.

Knowing what it means, the Gudas handed their Command Seal all to them. Once BB got hold the Gudas, she also detected the Demon God’s presence being more and more stronger. Good to know how useless you are since you can’t stop what Kiara is doing at this rate

I’d like to play the song It’s Raining Men changing to it’s raining Demon Gods... That’s not what I’d like to happen here! Suzuka then offered herself to help BB to stop Kiara from spreading Demon Gods all over the sea.

Which as Kiara watched us despairing at what’s about to happen... Melt and Lip have a small talk with each other.... Before unleashing their Noble Phantasm together. A flashback involving Melt actually received a fatal blow from Kiara in the previous battle, getting tortured while Gudas are used as hostage against her, and killed before her.

Both eventually managed to escape with their combined Noble Phantasm, while Kiara earned her victory laugh from their first fight. And also later afterwards of meeting her other self in this world... In order to save Gudas this time, the Melt of the present sacrifice herself so the Melt in the past could save them

One last time... Lip used her Brynhild Romantia as a catapult to launch Melt at Kiara. Melt reminsince her past one last time... And unleash her own Noble Phantasm. Kiara caught off guard eventually panicked while yelling for Melt’s reason knowing she’ll die from this.

Beast III isn’t giving up on her hand by summoning more Demon Gods to catch hold of her body to use as catalyst for more Demon Pillars, stating they were one and the same Spirit Origin. But... Emiya Alter shot Kiara to stop her! He’s still alright for a little while more!!

Pulling Melt away... Emiya Alter made sure Kiara sunk way bottom and broken apart... Destroying her once and for all with one last head shot to end her. Though before death... She eventually decided to resummon herself one day as an Alter Ego, as she and Melt are the same kind of person.

The AI congratulates Guda for beating Beast III/R at last. Everyone else gathered once Gudas awake from that sinking place. When mentioned about Tristan and Melt... A flashblack revealed Tristan pulled Melt up with Emiya Alter’s cable.... But Tristan managed to have Melt save before sacrificing his own life. That’s coming rich from a stupid AI, who throws away all emotion to create those Alter Ego.

And seems like Tristan save Melt because she resemble Isolde... *shrugs* Hope DW can give a rough sketch of what she look like someday. But Melt eventually fades away after using all of her Spirit Origins to fight against Kiara.... After BB recording their irregular existence as a Servant in the Throne of Heroes.

So the Melt we meet will be a new Melt... One that have no memories of us and the CCC event. And a reyshift is here for Gudas! Suzuka went away first with reminding Gudas to text her if they ever want to meet. Tama Cat returns to Chaldea to prepare food for us. Robin went back to throne of Heroes since he got dragged here on a whim

Lip... Part us a farewell, knowing the next time we meet her, it’ll be a Lip that has no memories of us. Lastly the AI... Nah, we don’t show you anything. You still like to insult to the very core. So okay, bye.

Now... Finally back home at last, we’re... Greeted by Da Vinci who don’t remember what happened?! Wait, the past even change so that it’s now dismantled?!!?!?!

Thoughts & Observation:

Aside from the crazy difficulty and grinding, I expect no less from Nasu who written the story himself... And again, aside from the unecessary harem scene of course.

Boss fight, majorly Alter Ego are the pain in the ass. Because 2 years later, their boss is still the same with no Anti-Alter Ego class currently

BB’s fight is hell for now, but at least 2 years later with Emperor mothman,.. It’ll be slightly better

Passionlip:

..... First round is what the hell, especially her AOE NP. And it’s better that’s it’s 3 charge, and first time for NA

Second round, it’s practically before first HP break to break it since she charged her NP fast

David apparently died on that second round... From that insta-death. Her third skill buff missed ignore invincibility.... But that insta-death definitely didn’t miss a shit on David

Though at least final hp bar is scrapping whatever luck I have to make sure insta-death doesn’t work....

Suzuka:

She’s.... She’s surprisingly not that hard. Maybe front two rounds is difficult, especially trying to hit a certain HP with that defense buff.

But her third round, after learning my lesson in JP.... Bring an AOE Archer to kill her and her later Shadow Hijikata on second HP break

Jeanne and Merlin have been my MVP since both are taking turns to pull out wide invincibility against her

Meltryllis:

....... She’s the only one I still refused to look forward in 2 years later

Taunting is one hell to go through. Skill seal + attack down that’s practically RNG based especially if it lands on your support to cast defense against her. And finally her hp recovery down every turn... 

It’s not bad if you can get Merlin’s NP spammable every turn.... Only thing is her fucking crits that outdo your healing

I can still remembering making sure Herc-chan killing her with his brave chain....

But main MVP is Vlad III Extra, surviving long enough with his NP to deal the damage most of the time

BB:

My only problem was because I’m too used to Emperor’s mothman, and looking forward 2 years later to beat her with borrowing as support.... Given if I’m unlucky again to not have him home in NA too

Borrow Martha Ruler, but initially had wanted to go for Amakusa... Because Martha Ruler was taking quite a while to beat the front

Even better... I used Arash to get rid of the front.... But I forgot there’s the guts buff. And neither him or the first wave died....

BB herself on boss fight isn’t hard with taunters around to lure her NP away from Waver and Martha

Emiya Alter

Not as bad as Melt, but I’m still not looking forward to his fight.

I did learn from JP’s experience... So I borrowed Melt with Waver and 3 taunters to fight

Had to make sure the Melt I borrowed had Sakura CE’s MLB so Waver can buff her NP up and she does her brave chain to quickly break away his first HP bar

That was my problem as I realize delaying it will means quicker death for my Servants

So once it breaks... All it left was making sure the taunters takes the damage from the NP while keeping Melt and Waver alive to fight

Kiara aka Beast III/R:

Maybe because it was using Jeanne... Combined with Merlin and Vlad III Extra, that it’s slightly difficult than usual

Especially this is still her NP without the overdue interlude that upgrades her NP to remove her stun

But it’s still not that bad, except some time Kiara tends to crit more often than usual

Fondut au Chocolat CE helps a lot when combine with Vlad’s NP to deal more damage against her

I don’t mind going back to Mash + Merlin setup with BB.... But I’ll try it one more time 2 years later, with Jeanne having her NP upgraded

While Agartha is debatable in how I’m going to go through for that, it’s time to go back to JP for the coming big Raid session!

Favorite Thing About Them: The knife legs? The tsundere attitude? Probably the overwhelmingly strong desire to change herself and do something good in FGO. Seeing her change from the unfeeling sadist that hunted Hakunon down for sport in CCC to the Meltryllis that would sacrifice herself for the sake of her love in FGO really made me proud of her. She still has her pride, and likes to pretend she’s the same unfeeling Alter Ego monster she’s made out to be but she’s really learned how to be human and for fuck’s sake I just want her to be happy ;_;

Least Favorite Thing About Them: As much as I love her design and how cool she looks, I really hate that metal bikini strip she’s got goin’ on. Melt, honey, put a skirt or some shorts on please

Random Headcanon: I feel like Gudako manages to convince Melt to dance for her and it’s become a weekly ritual for them to sneak off so Melt can give a little ballet recital (i think that’s right?) for Gudako. Melt get’s very flustered at the mountains of praise Gudako gives her every time

Unpopular Opinion: I don’t think I really have any for this character? I think it’s dumb that they used a figure of Male Hakunon in her Bond CE and I also think that Melt’s always been a good- top/high tier servant. Quick cards aren’t bad, y’all just dont know how to play anything outside of brain dead Buster Decks

Favorite Thing About Them: Literally every thing. Dark, troubled man with a hidden soft spot is my actual weakness. Coupled with his cool/edgy design (dangit grampa fans dont interact) and that fucking A+ voice- he just- listen, there’s rarely a MALE character that checks all my boxes like this, okay?

Least Favorite Thing About Them: I get it, he looks like the Dingle Crumpus man, I don’t care, he’s hot, let me have this.

i threatened that it was coming and now here it is: Alter’s issues and past with Kiara Sessyoin, The Masterpost

People who would much know this IC are mostly limited to Masters which Alter trusts, as he’s rather tight-lipped about it, and Kiara herself, otherwise all he says is that Kiara and him have some sort of past that ended badly, end-of-story

BUT HERE IT IS sorry in advance to mobile users who dont have readmores lmao

HISTORY

As it’s laid out (more or less) in canon, Alter was tasked with hunting down Kiara in a den of her own supporters, which got him pretty fucked up. However, due to the phrasing of this (e.g. that it’s Kiara specifically who is pointed as what corrupted him and not simply the mass murder) and the fact that she’s shown as controlling him in the CCC event makes me assume that his history with her is a bit more involved than just “killed her at the same time as he killed everyone else in her compound”. So here’s my headcanon for their timeline, more or less!

Alter was not able to kill Kiara at the end of his slog through her compound. He was mentally broken down by the sheer weight of the lives he had taken, as well as seeing what those people were willing to do for Kiara and the fact that he recognized these people, and he basically failed the “Kiara saving throw” as one wiki page put it. Alter was incapable of pulling the trigger when he finally reached her, and she took advantage of his mental weakness.

Kiara reached for him and Alter allowed it to happen. She promised something like salvation, a kinder purpose, and rest from the mission he had been forced on. He ended up contracting to her through this, working for her before the counter force (though the CF still owned his soul, preventing Kiara from entirely erasing him, and that contract can never be undone). By the time Alter came to his sense, it was too late and he belonged to Kiara.

This completely doomed the timeline, which it was pretty close to anyways, but letting Kiara continue was the final bell. Nothing would be able to emerge from this timeline intact, though the Counter Force would eventually extract Alter. This means, to Alter, that he was both cemented to Kiara and through his own failure allowed this timeline to die.

Basically he was stuck as Kiara’s lapdog for a few years, subject to the whims of both her and the re-growing population of the cult at large and was used as security for the most part, protecting cult members if things came to the worst, making sure that if someone challenged her they could kill a few cult members but never get too far, doing whatever other things Kiara just felt like telling him to do, etc.. 

Emiya hated her the whole time, but it very quickly went from active hatred to a rather exhausted “i just want this to be over with” feeling. He knows she’s dangerous but he also knows that he’s got a disadvantage to her and he’s still rather tied up to her. He doesn’t want others to fight her because he doesn’t want anyone else to share his fate, but he takes on the mantle of “ill kill kiara” for that reason. He’s just tried of her.

Eventually he did manage to kill her, even though it was too late to save the timeline, but it did free him from being actively contracted to her.

He is still exceedingly susceptible to Kiara. The CCC event proves this -- he ends up working for her, silent and damaged and unhappy, but he doesn’t have the power to say “no” and kill her again. He would only be able to do that when securely backed by a Master who can remind him who and where he is, lest he slip into another unstable state and think that “oh, i just belong to her again, it’s fine, it’s okay”. She can very easily shut Alter down and make him revert back to how he was working for her, though with him being severely spotty and even worse off mentally than he is normally in terms of forgetfulness and loss of self.

Alter hates her but in a defeated “I’d Really Rather Not Deal With This, And Yet I Must” kind of way.

CONSEQUENCES

Because of his time with her, like I said, he’s super shitty at Kiara saving throws. She can command him very easily but this does have consequences on Alter’s mental and bodily integrity. If he’s pushed too far he will physically fall apart like this.

His PTSD comes mostly from everything to do with Kiara, which is entirely expected and unsurprising. So do his rather unhealthy attitudes about sex, as that’ll come when u end up in a cult headed by the incarnation of lust and also end up subject to all whims of anyone in said cult. He’s got a lotta issues with giving consent, mostly because he never thinks to say no to things even if he doesn’t want to do them, and ends up disassociating instead as seen here with Ritsuka. Being overtly sexual around Alter and pulling him into it is a good way to get him to dislike you because he Does Not Like It but also doesn’t think he’s allowed to refuse sexual overtures so. Y’know.

He also really hates being touched by strangers and if strangers touch him while also acting saccharine and “aw i care about you a lot uwu trust me” e.g. “act in any way similar to Kiara” he will immediately go on the offensive until he’s left alone or at least not being touched.

He just generally doesn’t trust anyone who acts charming or sweet, he’d much prefer people being direct, even if they’re directly telling him that they want to kill him.

again: He Wants To Kill Kiara. He’s just not good at doing that.

Part of this inspires his quest to destroy his saint graph. If he erases his identity, then he’s not the “Emiya” who contracted with Kiara, he’s just “nobody”, and if he’s not human then she can’t manipulate him and he can easily kill her if she ever returns as a threat. He’s removing his own ability to be beholden to her. She’s not all of why Alter wants to do this to himself, but she’s definitely a good part of it.

But if I had to pick something it's how he still manages to hold onto a tiny spark of who he used to be, the smallest flicker of his old ideals and hope and joy, amid the crushing weight of existential despair and apathy his life has ended up.

Robin: His EXISTENCE; but no, really, the way they've written who and what he is kills me, I love how he's handled and I love this idea of this forgotten boy who took the name Robin Hood, one of many faceless outlaws, becoming the face of that existence rather than any real "named singular person" Robin Hood like Loxley or Huntingdon or anyone we know.

Merlin: I love how he's handled as well, he's so inhumanly human and I love how he loves Artoria and feels so guilty but tricks himself into thinking he doesn't feel at all, but it's so obviously a lie, I love how he loves watching us, he's such an interesting take on the character.

for a multitude of reasons i lost or cut contact with all my friends and i was just. really not where i was supposed to be, quite literally. that was my big problem but then ive switched majors, to someplace i AM supposed to be; and got out of a bunch of different shitty situations and fought to be in better ones until i managed 

and here i am!! things always get better dude. you’re always going to find people to love and care for, and who love you and care back. it might take a long time, but itll happen. sometimes ir requires more things to change but itll happen. you absolutely will find good friends dude, i believe in you
