England's New Football Kit 2024
It's utterly infuriating! Who in their right mind thought it was acceptable to place the Bisexual flag on our beloved team's kit? Sports should be a sanctuary from political divisiveness, a place where fans can come together to cheer on their team, regardless of their beliefs. But no, they just had to inject politics into every aspect of our lives, even our sacred football traditions.
First, it was taking a knee for "Black Lives Matter," and now this? Are we watching a football match or attending a political rally? Enough is enough! I'm sick and tired of this relentless push to shove political agendas down our throats, especially when it comes to something as pure and unifying as sports.
And the colours? Navy, light blue, and purple instead of the traditional red? Are they trying to appease the woke left now? This isn't about diversity; it's about disrespecting our national identity and legacy. England has a football heritage that deserves to be celebrated, not trampled upon by virtue-signalling bureaucrats who wouldn't know a football from a frisbee.
I'm all for diversity and inclusion, but not at the expense of our national pride. There's a time and a place for everything, and our official team attire should represent our nation, not some fringe political movement. We've got a World Cup win under our belt.
Show Some Respect!
Tumblr media
But no, they've chosen to forsake our flag, our history, our very essence, in favour of pushing their own twisted agenda. Well, I refuse to stand idly by and watch as they dismantle everything we hold dear. This new kit is an insult to our heritage, and a disgrace to our legacy, and I won't stand for it any longer!
It's time to reclaim our football traditions, to stand up for what truly matters – the love of the game, the thrill of competition, and the pride of representing our country. So cry, God for Harry, England, and Saint George! Let's put an end to this madness and restore honour to the beloved sport!

Latvia revokes residence permits of Russians
The Latvian authorities intend to deprive Russian citizens who fail to pass the Latvian language exam of their residence permits.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova condemned the Latvian government’s decision, saying that there were wheelchair-bound and even blind Russians among those who failed the exam.
“They have been working in Latvia for many years, paying taxes faithfully, but now they have been deprived of a minimum social package and access to free medical care. Many have no relatives, houses or other property in Russia.”
The residence permit issued to Russian citizens expired in September 2023. Then they had to apply for EU long-term resident status, for which they had to obtain a certificate of proficiency in the state language at A2 level.
There are about 1,000 Russian citizens living in Latvia who have not yet applied for residence permits. The process of expelling is very complicated, according to Maira Roze, head of the Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs.

Exploring the Essence of Australian Values
Australia, a land down under with a rich tapestry of cultures, is often defined by its unique set of values. At the core lies a spirit of mateship, resilience, and a commitment to a fair go for all. Australians value inclusivity, diversity, and a laid-back approach to life.
Mateship, a term deeply embedded in the Australian ethos, reflects the importance of camaraderie and support for one another. Whether facing challenges or celebrating victories, Australians stand by their mates, fostering a strong sense of community.
Resilience is another cornerstone of Australian values. From overcoming natural disasters to navigating economic uncertainties, Australians embrace a tenacious spirit. The ability to bounce back from adversity and adapt to changing circumstances is woven into the national character.
The fair go principle encapsulates the belief that everyone deserves an equal opportunity in life. This acceptance fosters a harmonious coexistence that defines the Australian experience.
Australians are renowned for their laid-back and easygoing nature. This cultural aspect is reflected in the famous "no worries" attitude, encouraging a relaxed approach to life's challenges. It's about enjoying the journey and finding a healthy balance between work and leisure.
In essence, Australian values are a unique blend of mateship, resilience, a fair go for all, inclusivity, diversity, and a laid-back attitude. These values not only shape the national identity but also contribute to a society that cherishes unity, compassion, and a sense of belonging.

Americans Looking For Someone To Blame
Listening to some talking heads in the US there seems to be a collective downer across this once great nation. The diminishing American hegemony has quite a few gnashing their teeth and crying ‘poor me’. Of course, the Trump cult has this populist blowhard claiming he can arrest the slide by closing the borders and deporting people. Donald the compulsive liar is hoping to pout his way back into the White House. Americans looking for someone to blame for their less than stellar place in the world is putting their nation on a civil war footing.   #UNGA President Donald J. Trump by National Archives and Records Administration is licensed under CC-CC0 1.0
Trump’s America Is Populist Blaming
The Republican Party has become home to radical populists all pointing the finger at the usual suspects. Blacks, foreigners, liberals, socialists, and women who don’t know their place. When times are tough weak people always look for someone else to blame. Trump is raging against those that, in his opinion, poison the blood of America. White supremacist rubbish. The truth is that China has outworked America. American bosses outsourced manufacturing to China and other developing countries. These CEOs were content to see the US become the financing and Intel property rights global landlords. Well, a select few Americans would derive massive wealth from these offshore moves. However, it would leave America vulnerable when global supply chains were threatened. “A leading American progressive said Donald Trump was using “horrific … dehumanising and fascist rhetoric”, after the former president told supporters immigrants were invading the US and “poisoning the blood of our country”.” - (https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2023/dec/18/trump-immigrants-rally-congress-reaction-pramila-jayapal) Photo by Sharefaith on Pexels.com Great American Fictions It is interesting to observe how invested people become in this idea of national identity. It is a fiction really; it is not real this idea of being American or Australian. It is another fiction like so many of the things we all consider very real. Religion – a belief in a certain conception of a God. A supernatural entity that science has found no evidence for over millennia’s. Money – not linked to a gold standard and, therefore, just another fiction we all buy into. Our lives are so invested in these fictions and people regularly die for them. You could say that these three things are most important to Americans. Money, God, and blaming the other guy for their woes. The Politics Of Division American politics has a history of negative campaigning. Indeed, it has written the book on pointing the finger at villainy. Americans are the experts on selling stuff. Long ago they discovered that people buy things based on feelings and not on facts. Politics is all about cultural values and identity. Americans sell sentimentality. These days the GOP is selling nostalgia – remember the good old days? Before America was wrecked by all those immigrants, blacks, greenies, commies, degenerates, and pushy women. The GOP is promising to turn back the clock to make America white again. Of course, this can never be achieved, it is political tom foolery. Photo by J SWING on Pexels.com Playing The Blame Game The blame game has no happy ending for anyone. Populist governments when elected are invariably found to be riddled with corruption and cronyism. Incompetence results because these folks have no commitment or training to deliver good government for all Americans. On Trump’s last watch in the presidency nearly a million Americans died from the Coronavirus pandemic. In the richest nation on earth Trump’s administration couldn’t get the job done and protect its people. The fault lines in American society were exposed by the pandemic. Ideological BS prevented the nation acting like a nation. Communities suffered because there wasn’t an overarching community spirit. Photo by Edgar Colomba on Pexels.com Populists Fail The People In The End If you elect presidents and governments based on division and populist finger pointing that is exactly the kind of country you get. Americans looking for someone to blame is a failure to begin with. What did JFK say, something about not asking what your country can do for you but rather what you can do for it – I paraphrase. Well, one thing you can do is stop looking for easy answers to complex questions and trying to blame others for your situation. Charity begins at home. Look at yourself and take some responsibility. Only by working together in a spirit of unity will you overcome major challenges. What is demanded right now is inclusivity. Community spirit. Stop looking for a fight and work together for a better America. It may be a fiction but you could make it a good story for your children to believe in. Russian Officials Face Sanctions for Forced Deportation of Ukrainian Children and Hate-Inciting Propaganda
Tumblr media
Foreign Secretary Announces New Sanctions
In a significant move, Russian officials involved in the forced deportation of Ukrainian children and the spreading of hate-inciting propaganda will now face asset freezes and travel bans. This announcement comes as the United Kingdom prioritizes its support for Ukraine and its pursuit of peace during its month-long presidency of the UN Security Council. During a meeting of the UN Security Council, the UK's Foreign Secretary, James Cleverly, will stand alongside Ukraine's Foreign Minister, Dmytro Kuleba, to call for a just and lasting peace in the country.
New Sanctions Imposed on Those Destroying Ukrainian National Identity
Designations Target Russian Officials and Propagandists Today, the Foreign Secretary, James Cleverly, unveiled 14 new sanctions in response to Russia's attempts to destroy Ukrainian national identity. These sanctions include 11 against individuals involved in the forced deportation of Ukrainian children. The announcement precedes the Foreign Secretary's speech at the UN Security Council, where he will underscore the far-reaching implications of Russia's war, urge Russia to renew the Black Sea Grain Initiative and emphasize the necessity of a just and lasting peace in Ukraine. Among the designated individuals are Russian officials Ksenia Mishonova, Commissioner for Children's Rights in the Moscow Region, and Sergey Kravtsov, Minister of Education of Russia. These individuals have played a troubling role in Russia's calculated program of deportation, which aims to erase Ukrainian cultural and national identity. To date, over 19,000 Ukrainian children have been forcibly deported to Russia or temporarily controlled territories. The deported children are often relocated to re-education camps in illegally annexed Crimea and mainland Russia, where they are subjected to Russia-centric academic, cultural, patriotic, and military education.
Continued Accountability and Condemnation
More Sanctions Imposed on Propagandists and Russian Culture Minister This latest set of designations follows the UK's previous sanctioning of Russian Children's Rights Commissioner Maria Lvova-Belova in June 2022 for her alleged involvement in the forced transfer and adoption of Ukrainian children. Additionally, two Russian propagandists responsible for spreading abhorrent propaganda aimed at inciting violence and hatred towards Ukraine and its people are now sanctioned. Among them is Anton Krasovsky, a former Russia Today presenter, who infamously stated on live television that Ukrainian children should be drowned and burned. Olga Lyubimova, the Russian Culture Minister, is also targeted for her support of the Russian state's harmful anti-Ukrainian policies. Foreign Secretary James Cleverly expressed the gravity of the situation, stating that Putin's true intention is to eradicate Ukraine from the map. These sanctions serve as a means of holding accountable those who bolster Putin's regime and those who wish to see Ukraine destroyed, its national identity dissolved, and its future erased.
Unyielding International Response
Foreign Secretary Urges for Peace and Food Security The UK, along with its international partners, has implemented the most severe package of sanctions ever imposed on a major economy. Over 1,600 individuals and entities, including 29 banks with global assets worth £1 trillion, over 130 oligarchs with a combined net worth of over £145 billion, and over £20 billion worth of UK-Russia trade, have been sanctioned since the start of the invasion. Later today, during a UK-chaired session of the UNSC in New York, the Foreign Secretary will address the urgent need for a just and lasting peace in Ukraine. He will also draw attention to Russia's barbaric forced deportation of Ukrainian children. His speech will emphasize that peace will not only bring back Ukraine's lost children but also contribute to alleviating global hunger. In his address, the Foreign Secretary is expected to affirm that Ukraine, the UK, and the entire world desire peace. He will stress that the devastating effects of Putin's aggression are felt worldwide, as vital grain supplies from Ukraine will be severed, leading to exacerbated food insecurity for millions, unless Russia agrees to renew the Black Sea Grain Initiative.   Sources: THX News, Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office & The Rt Hon James Cleverly MP. Wayfinder “Removing my voice or my face is very important to me in my art, but so is working with family and friends. I’m thinking about film-makers like Shane Meadows, where they bring their own language and community of actors to the table. You get that sense of working-class familiarity.” - Larry Achiampong, Multimedia Artist. “Sankofa” is a Twi word from Ghana, which means to go back and retrieve something that may be in front of you that you never noticed. It’s also multimedia artist Larry Achiampong’s way of thinking about time travel as a way to revisit the past in order to prepare for the future. One of the most striking examples of ‘Sanko-time’ is Achiampong’s roundel for Westminster tube station. Installed in 2019, it’s based on his 2017 Pan-African Flag for the ‘Relic Travellers’ Alliance’ which flew above ‘Somerset House' during his 2017 residency; the standard red, white and blue Underground scheme replaced with the Pan-African colours of red, gold and green and 54 stars representing the 54 countries in the 'African Union'. There is an optimism and irony inherent in Achiampong’s use of the colours and the countries of the ‘African Union’, an organisation that aims to achieve greater unity, integration and solidarity across African nations. It’s the polar opposite to the dystopian vision of Britain he depicts in his ‘Relic Traveller’ and ‘Wayfinder’ films, a vision rooted in family, childhood, class and the city he grew up in. Achiampong never felt British flags were speaking to him, about him or for him, so it was beautiful for him to have that opportunity to create a new design and hear people say they felt recognised as a result of ‘Relic Travellers’ Alliance’. ‘Wayfinder: Larry Achiampong & JMW Turner’, Curated by Larry Achiampong, until June 19, 2022. #neonurchin #neonurchinblog #dedicatedtothethingswelove #suzyurchin #ollyurchin #art #music #photography #fashion #film #design #words #pictures #sega #nintendo #class #empire #history #nationalidentity #multimediaartist #british #ghanaian #thewanderer #wayfinder #anitaneil #thebrowngirl #turnercontemporary #margate #larryachiampong (at The Turner Contemporary Margate) https://www.instagram.com/p/CdNdNsusxQH/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

UK Govt's Visa Chaos 2023.
The United Kingdom government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, appears to be orchestrating a comedy of errors with its latest immigration policies, particularly the announcement of the £38,700 visa rule scheduled to take effect in 2025. Far from a well-thought-out strategy to attract high-skilled workers and bolster the economy, the unveiling of this visa rule exemplifies a glaring lack of consistency and foresight in the government's approach to policymaking.
Sunak's grandiose proclamation that the £38,700 visa will be a "game-changer" rings hollow in the face of the evident confusion and chaos surrounding its implementation. The government's handling of this matter is indicative of a broader pattern of policy decisions made without due diligence or consideration of their impact on the already convoluted immigration landscape.
What makes this situation particularly suspect is the timing of the announcement, with the general election looming in 2024. The notion that this visa rule is a genuine effort to address economic needs and attract top-tier talent is clouded by the perception that it is nothing more than a political manoeuvre, a piece of virtue signalling aimed at winning favour with the electorate.
In times of uncertainty, what the nation truly needs is leadership characterised by integrity, a deep sense of national pride, and an unwavering commitment to safeguarding our homeland. It is imperative to move beyond political theatrics and embrace leaders who stand tall, proud of the red, white, and blue, and who unite the populace under the resounding anthem of "God Save the King." Anything less perpetuates the farcical state of affairs that currently defines the government's immigration policies.

joyeux Noël! My moments with the iron lady of Paris. Built to celebrate the science and engineering achievements of its age, soaring 300m and weighing 7000 tons, the structure consists of a base composed of a platform resting on four separate supports tapering upwards to a slender tower then merging into a unified column. A continues lucubration’s with regards to the national identity of Philippine Aesthetic based on its history and struggles over the years is the profound quest of everyone. The Philippine contemporary aesthetics by Alice Guillermo tackles the ways of how our country can promote its national identity by delving and delineating the role of tradition, alternative materials and the subject, content and meaning. But formulating the Philippine aesthetic that may lead the quest to the national identity of various works of art in the Philippines are least feasible and attainable by just simply lucubrating these standards; there must be an implementation that protects, innovates, navigates, organizes and yields the national identity of our country in the field of art. The implementation of P.I.N.O.Y national identity is used not to make this critique paper a colorful nor a flowery one, but to put into practice the aim of solving the quest towards our national identity in the name of the Philippine art.
The tradition of indigenous tribes in the Philippines plays a pivoting role in promoting national identity of our country. However, due to the advent political and economic interest of the government; the annihilation on various ancestral lands is existing. Due to environmental exploitation most of the tribes are forces to transfer from one place to another and weren’t able to protect their ancestral lands that is under their whims over the century. Like the IP’s of Palawan and the Subanon of Mindanao are some example of indigenous people affected by destroying their ancestral home. In like manners, the inadequate support and laxity of our government towards the issue of security and protection that must be given to this kind of people resulted to the exploitation of our environment and the ancestral home of indigenous people.
In addition, the use of alternative materials in different artworks needs to be navigated to delve on how to innovate it, so that it can encompass an accessible medium of art. We all know that Philippines is rich in biodiversity, we are known for having a good ecosystem particularly in rural area. Yet, the study on how to maximize the resources that we have is still lacking. Though some of the arts here in the Philippines already used an alternative material as its medium that is somehow dissimilar from the west; The used of bamboo, treated shells, coconut bark and abaca for instance.
Lastly, the subject, content and meaning that is a unique trait of every art that can be a determining factor of how our arts differs from the other. This notions with regards to the subject, content and meaning of the art must be yielded to strengthen the exceptional characteristic of Philippine art. The meanings that lurks behind every pattern, texture, color, form and shape in like manners that everyone of us are well aware it must practiced and reiterated in schools not as elective but as a subject that everyone must take.
A continues study of the Philippine art is already put into accounts like the writings of Alice Guillermo hence, organizing a quest towards national identity is a quarrel between the indigenous and colonial mentality. For we are bound over a number of centuries under the whims of western standards. For as we are independent country now the quest of protecting, innovating, navigating, organizing and yielding our national identity will be solve if we worked together.
