I say luffy is my son bc we share a lot of things and I could say that "he's like me" n done but nah, because luffy is still gives himself the right to act like a child when I was never given the opportunity, even less the chance to "give myself the right".

oh yeah btw i turned forty last week and i still don’t know if i’m ace or what.

it’s funny because when i catch myself modeling conversations with Real People (summer is family reunion with second cousins time, don’t cha know, i gotta gird my loins) and imagine answering the dreaded “so, when are you getting a bf?” question now that they can’t ask “so, when do you get a job?”, my default response is “oh nah, i’m not into that” followed with a casual and unconcerned “even wondered if i was a lesbian but not even, lol”

but even when i say that (to myself and imaginary great-aunts, by the way my great-aunt and her husband just celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary and whoaaaa old people galore at THAT party but turns out they were all more interested in bragging about their great-great-grandchildren) and it feels like a relief, like dating us such a hassle and not worth it, behind that, in my deepest brain parts, i’m still going “nahhh, surely not?”.

like i’m just lying that i’m asexual because it’s the path of least resistance and i’m just avoiding annoying questions.
