I questioned Reshiram's judgement in awakening for my father.

Otus informed me this morning that the fire stone I got in that big haul of junk a while back was tampered with. It was cut in half with its very core extinguished. Mocha and Otus no longer have a chance of evolving into a Flareon and Simisear, respectively.

not that Otus would want to evolve he likes being small

Dad's behavior is concerning, but I wish I'd kept my mouth shut. The thought might've be better off staying in my head. At least, not said around Reshiram, of all pokémon.

Next up on Gus’s pokemon team we have Cappuccino! ◆Name: Cappuccino ◆Nickname(s): Cappy, Cap ◆Species: Leafeon ◆ Ability: Leaf Guard ◆ Move set: Grass Whistle // Return // Giga Drain // Leaf Blade ◆Gender:  Male ◆Sexuality: ?? ◆Personality: Shy and timid. Cappuccino has a lot of self doubt and inner turmoil from being "unwanted" as an eevee while all of his littermates got adopted. However working with Gus and being trained by him has helped him build some confidence in himself (albeit shaky at times). Hes resourceful, kind, and patient. His battle style is mostly about trying to tire out /drain his opponents and land one swift blow. Another long story under the cut

Backstory: Cappy was the 3rd born in a little of 5. Having an older brother and sister, as well as a younger sister and brother. The litter was one that belong to Gus, when he bred his Espeon, Skoll, with a female Flareon. All of the pups from the litter had the coloration and named after coffee drinks (Latte, Mocha, Cappuccino, Chai, and Espresso.) All of Cappy’s brothers and sisters were adopted very quickly, but for some reason, he was left behind. Gus did his best to assure Cappy that he would find the perfect home, and he was going to make sure of it. A couple years passed and despite Gus’s best efforts, it seemed like the last of the ‘coffvees’ was still waiting to catch the eye of another trainer, and it started to take its toll of him mentally.  Cappy truly believed himself to be unwanted, he didnt understand what was wrong with him, constantly questioning what he could do to be better. Gus had no intention of ever getting rid of the little eevee, but Cappy’s thoughts went elsewhere.  The little eevee still lived a good life with Gus, being well taken care, having a roof over his head, and proper meals each day (along with lots of snacks!) but he still longed to be something more. Seeing other trainers with their pokemon caused his heart to ache. This of course didnt help with occasional visits from his youngest brother, Espresso, since his trainer and Gus were good friends. One faithful day something happened. A trainer showed up at Gus’s home, asking about the ‘coffvees’ and wanting to know if the one called Cappuccino was still available. Cappy’s heart soared with happiness! Finally! Someone wanted him! However... Cappy’s excitement was short lived as Gus politely told the trainer that the ad was outdated and all of the eevees were gone. Upon hearing this, Cappy’s heart shattered, having felt so betrayed by the very person who had raised him, who had promised him that he would find him a home. And here he was! Taking that chance away from him! In his anger and frustration he ran away in a fit of tears. He ran until he couldnt anymore, eventually finding himself in a heavy thunderstorm in the middle of the forest at night. Having no idea where he even was, feeling dejected and exhausted, he found whatever shelter he could squeeze himself into it and fell asleep. He awoke sometime later to the sound of his name being called, and soon being pulled into the warm (although fully soaked) arms of Gus. He tried to pull away but gave up quickly as he was far too tired to care anymore. The rain finally started to subside, and Gus set up a better shelter for the two of them to take refuge in for the rest of a rough night.  The next morning, once the rain had cleared, and Gus began taking down their camp, guilt weighing heavily on his mind. Cappy was still distant and cold as he perched on a large moss covered rock, being more interested in looking at his paws than he did anywhere else. Gus finally walked over and apologized for denying Cappy a trainer for his own, tearfully confessing to him that he had grown attached to him, and couldnt bring himself to part with the little eevee. He had tried to tell him, but he had already ran off, and he would understand if he was still upset with him. If he really wanted to be with someone else, he would make that happen- for real this time. Cappy was surprised and shocked to know that Gus felt this way the whole time, feeling foolish and naïve for not realizing what it was that he wanted, was right there in front of him the whole time! Gus then asked if, despite their misunderstanding, if Cappy would like to stay with him. He might not be the strongest or smartest trainer out there, but he would do his best. His heart swelled and his emotions overflowed as tears ran down his face, and as the morning sun streamed through the misty air, he felt a warmth building his chest and surrounding him as he was covered in light, and at that moment he evolved into a Leafeon, and soon after throwing himself into Gus’s arms as the two of them cried happily to finally have found each other. Cappy has flourished under Gus’s care and training, becoming an important member of his team. He isnt the best battler, but what he lacks in strength he makes up for in wits and resilience.

How have you been?

I've been alternating between assisting Dad or Professor Juniper in their labs (Usually taking my Hisuian Samurott with me when I visit Juniper) and taking Kyurem on a Unova region tour.

Otus has been getting cooking lessons from the Striaton Trio's pokémon. His cooking was great before, and has only been getting better. You could ask Chili (@seared-and-incinerated) more about them, if you'd like!

Mocha's been doing great. He spends a lot of time awake at night. Loves breaking into the fridge. We theorized that Umbreon we saw some time ago was one of his parents. Maybe the other parent was an ice-type (Or a Glaceon)?

I haven't seen that Gengar who loves the security cameras. Dad says he's spotted her while working on those Frigates we got out of nowhere, though.

That's about it, I think...
