About alou
Amy Louise Davis (alou) is a sustainable textile artist who wants to create awareness, in response to the lack of mindfulness which surrounds our throw-away society.
Her aim is to:
Work with other like-minded individuals and businesses, who also address issues such as fast-fashion and the so-called throw-away society “norm."
Educate by doing - whilst there is so much transparency (in fashion and textiles) which surround how such issues should be tackled, what really needs to be happening is for more people to be taking action. It takes one person to have an idea, but a whole community to create some form of change.
She believes, the more action that is undertaken by various individuals (over a period of time,) the more likely it is that perceptions in relation to fashion will change, once people start to develop some sort of an awareness around such issues.
Action - Awareness created through forms of embroidery/basic mending workshops, tutorials and talks.
