The Williamsburg Bridge is a prominent suspension bridge that spans the East River in New York City, connecting the boroughs of Manhattan and Brooklyn. It is one of the many iconic bridges in the city and plays a crucial role in the transportation network of New York.
Here are some key facts and information about the Williamsburg Bridge:
1. Construction: The construction of the Williamsburg Bridge began in 1896 and was completed in 1903. It was designed by Leffert L. Buck and Henry Hornbostel and was a remarkable engineering feat of its time. 2. Location: The Williamsburg Bridge connects the Lower East Side of Manhattan with the Williamsburg neighborhood in Brooklyn. It spans the East River, providing a vital transportation link between the two boroughs. 3. Design: The bridge features a suspension design with two main towers and four main cables that support the roadway. At the time of its completion, it was the longest suspension bridge in the world. 4. Dimensions: The Williamsburg Bridge is approximately 7,308 feet (2,227 meters) long, with a main span of 1,600 feet (488 meters). The clearance below the bridge allows for the passage of ships on the East River. 5. Transportation: The bridge accommodates various modes of transportation, including vehicle lanes, pedestrian walkways, and bike lanes. It has historically been an important route for commuters traveling between Manhattan and Brooklyn. 6. Historical Significance: The Williamsburg Bridge played a crucial role in the development of Brooklyn and helped facilitate the growth of Williamsburg as a thriving neighborhood. It also provided easier access to jobs in Manhattan for residents of Brooklyn. 7. Renovations: Over the years, the bridge has undergone several renovations and repairs to ensure its structural integrity and safety. These renovations have included upgrades to the road surface, lighting, and the pedestrian and bike paths. 8. Cultural References: The Williamsburg Bridge has featured in various cultural works, including literature, film, and music. It is often seen as a symbol of New York City and has been depicted in numerous artistic forms. 9. Commemorative Plaque: A plaque on the bridge commemorates its completion and the individuals involved in its construction, including the designers and builders. 10. Trolley Service: When the bridge first opened, it included tracks for trolley cars, which were a popular mode of public transportation at the time. These trolley tracks were later removed, but they played a significant role in making the bridge accessible to the public. 11. Artistic Lighting: In recent years, the Williamsburg Bridge has undergone a series of lighting upgrades. The bridge's lighting system has been used creatively to celebrate various holidays and events, making it a visually striking part of New York City's skyline. 12. Historical Preservation: The bridge is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and has received recognition for its architectural and engineering significance. Efforts have been made to preserve its historic character while ensuring it remains functional and safe. 13. Traffic and Commuting: The Williamsburg Bridge carries a substantial amount of vehicular and pedestrian traffic daily, serving as a crucial link between Manhattan's Lower East Side and Brooklyn's Williamsburg neighborhood. It helps alleviate congestion on nearby bridges like the Brooklyn Bridge and the Manhattan Bridge. 14. Views and Photography: The bridge offers breathtaking views of the Manhattan skyline, the East River, and other New York City landmarks. Many photographers and tourists visit the bridge to capture these scenic vistas. 15. Maintenance: Due to the harsh weather conditions and constant use, the Williamsburg Bridge requires regular maintenance. Maintenance crews monitor and repair the bridge to ensure its safety and longevity. 16. Cultural and Community Events: The bridge has also been used as a venue for cultural events, including public art installations, parades, and community gatherings, which highlight its role as a cultural and social hub for the surrounding neighborhoods. 17. Transportation Evolution: The Williamsburg Bridge has witnessed changes in transportation trends over the years, from trolley cars to automobiles and now to cycling and walking. It reflects the evolving transportation needs of the city.
The Williamsburg Bridge is not only a vital transportation link but also an iconic piece of New York City's infrastructure, contributing to the city's rich history and cultural heritage. It continues to be an essential part of the daily lives of commuters and residents in the area.

The year is 1926, and Shanghai hums to the tune of debauchery. A blood feud between two gangs runs the streets red, leaving the city helpless in the grip of chaos. At the heart of it all is eighteen-year-old Juliette Cai, a former flapper who has returned to assume her role as the proud heir of the Scarlet Gang—a network of criminals far above the law. Their only rivals in power are the White Flowers, who have fought the Scarlets for generations. And behind every move is their heir, Roma Montagov, Juliette’s first love…and first betrayal.
But when gangsters on both sides show signs of instability culminating in clawing their own throats out, the people start to whisper. Of a contagion, a madness. Of a monster in the shadows. As the deaths stack up, Juliette and Roma must set their guns—and grudges—aside and work together, for if they can’t stop this mayhem, then there will be no city left for either to rule.
i NEVER read ya romance usually but this one KICKS ASS. theres something poignant about a r+j who fell to their family feuds and that makes the plot more unique (it takes place like 5 years after some of the r/j events)... the prose is really good as is the atmosphere, also there's a trans character who's fitted well into the historical setting and the choice of historical setting is also fun
West Side Story is set in the mid-1950s in the Upper West Side of Manhattan in New York City, then a multiracial, blue-collar neighborhood. The musical explores the rivalry between the Jets and the Sharks, two teenage street gangs of different ethnic backgrounds. The Sharks, who are recent migrants from Puerto Rico, and the Jets, who are white, vie for dominance of the neighborhood. The young protagonist, Tony, a former member of the Jets and best friend of the gang's leader, Riff, falls in love with Maria, the sister of Bernardo, the leader of the Sharks.
it is a musical. it is wonderful. it is relevant still today. Shakespeare and Bernstein, Soundheim, and Laurents. iconic

Character Name: Roman Wagner
Character Age: 36
Birthday: April 15th, 1987
Faceclaim: Chris Evans
Neighborhood: Orchird Park
Occupation: Cyber Security Developer (Fortress Networks that is based in New York City)
Biography
Roman Wagner was born and raised in New York City to wealthy, loving parents Charles and Madeline Wagner. As the middle child sandwiched between his older sister, Alexandra, and younger brother, Sebastian, he enjoyed a comfortable upbringing full of private schools, European vacations, and elite social circles. Although his parents came from old money and gave him a lavish upbringing, they also instilled in him a strong sense of family, hard work and duty. Roman attended Trinity School for high school. With his good looks, and charisma, he quickly became one of the most popular students on campus. He excelled both academically and in lacrosse. With his confident charm, he had no trouble getting dates and leaving a trail of broken hearts behind him.
He had always dreamed of attending Columbia University—wanting to follow in his parents footsteps—and he made that happen after graduating high school. There, he majored in computer science and acquired a bachelors and masters degree. He met Samara Khanna when he was 23 and fell hard and fast for her—and had even envisioned a future together. After over two years of dating, she told him that she was planning on returning to her hometown of Covington, Georgia after graduation. Foolishly, he’d forced her to choose. She chose Covington which forced them apart.
It broke his heart—driving him to dive headfirst into New York's tech scene, co-founding the cyber security firm Fortress Networks with his college roommate. Throwing himself into growing his company—he embraced his reputation as an ambitious, cutthroat businessman and charming playboy. Over the next decade, he turned Fortress into one of the hottest cyber security startups in the industry, landing big-name clients and amassing a personal fortune.
Two years ago, Roman's fast-paced life was upended when his cousin, Jasmine, arrived unannounced at his door with her 4 year old daughter, Ivy. The next day, he got another surprise. With only a vague note explaining her inability to care for the child, Jasmine left Roman to raise Ivy as his own. He was initially hesitant, but he didn’t have the heart to leave Ivy behind, so he decided to become her legal guardian. At first, he struggled to adjust to suddenly being a single father and caring for a young child. He had to learn how to cook healthy meals, get Ivy ready for preschool each morning, and entertain her on weekends. His social life took a backseat as he devoted his time and energy to giving Ivy a stable, loving home.
With a new priority, Roman decided to relocate to provide Ivy the calm, wholesome childhood he never had growing up in bustling Manhattan. After searching for the right environment, he decided on Covington, Georgia—coincidentally the very town Samara had left him for over a decade prior. The irony was not lost on him, but he focused on giving Ivy the stable home she deserved. The small town had a charming main street lined with mom-and-pop shops, a top-rated school district, and a quaint neighborhood ideal for raising a family.
Personality
Charismatic: It has always been easy for Roman to make friends. It helps that he's good looking and friendly too. He has no trouble attracting romantic partners.
Ambitious: Built a successful cybersecurity startup and amassed a fortune through hard work and drive. Known as a cutthroat businessman.
Family-oriented: Although his family rarely see each other—since most of them were living in different states—they kept in contact and meet up once a year for a family vacation.
Responsible: Stepped up to raise Ivy on his own and provide for her, even though it was unexpected. Learned skills like cooking and childcare out of duty.
Wanted Connections
Ex-girlfriend: Samara Khanna
Love Interest: They met as kids at camp and the moment he saw her, he was smitten. She was his first kiss. They meet again as adults and are friends who hangout for the sake of their kids until old feelings arise. Callie Montgomery
A fellow single parent: They met through Ivy's school. Since Roman is new at parenting, he could use a friend who would help guide him.
A neighbor: Their kids play together and occasionally share home-cooked meals (he's a horrible cook but has a personal chef lol) or watch each other's kids in a pinch.
Classic car enthusiast: Roman has a collection of cars, and is a bit of a geek. I'd like it if he could have a friend who's just as geeky when it comes to cars lol. I could use more than one connection here!. Drew Parrish
Friends: Pretty straight forward
Enemies: This could be someone he might have accidentally offended.

Heather, you are my last hope. Long ago, I saw a post on here talking about something I cannot remember the name of. I thought it was kinda overkill back then but yea, I think I'm ready to at least try it. It was like an alternative to the internet, not like Freenet or Tor but even less connected to existing systems, with people physically setting up long range wireless P2P connections with each device then passing on the packages. I looked it up back then and it was definitely real but that might've been up to about a decade ago and now I can't find out what it was. Do you have any clue what that might've been called so I can look up information on it? If not, do you know who might? Thank you so much for reading
well that sounds like a wireless mesh network but that isn't really an alternative to the internet, that's an alternative to directly hooking up to an isp (useful forms still connect to the internet eventually)
while theoretically capable of hosting robust separate servers and information with no internet connection, almost noone actually does this outside of oddball wartime and severe censorship/general lack of access to the internet itself situations.
eg, the Cuban "SNET" system, used in several separate cities in the early 2010s, relied on combinations of wireless mesh nodes and plain old wired nodes to stitch former single-neighborhood or single-block intranets together into nearly citywide services running essentially parallel to the limited internet access available at the time, including having copies of real internet sites modified and updated on a weekly or daily basis. similar to how many old time campus DC++ hubs on the internal student networks could haul in huge quantities of pirated material from the wider internet, supplied by students carrying large hard drives between off-campus normal internet connections and on-campuse dorm connections (in order to avoid getting in trouble for excessive data traffic to watch pirated material, since student intranet traffic was not considered a problem if you used a lot).
anyway all the largest wireless mesh networks in operation today are means of providing free or very very very cheap wifi access to the internet via people who individually pay for their own very high speed internet connections. this includes services like NYC Mesh, where most of the network is fed directly from an internet backbone exchange in lower manhattan without an intermediary ISP (though naturally, it's connecting to many many ISPs at that exchange point).

As the country increasingly faces devastating floods, historic blizzards, and extreme droughts, there is an urgent need to take climate action. Adapting to these events is becoming a daily reality for many people and places, but avoiding the worst impacts in the long term depends on reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions now. And while striving for GHG reductions globally and nationally matters, the ultimate responsibility rests in the hands of local leaders, who must plan and invest in sustainable infrastructure, land uses, and more.
A recent Brookings analysis showed that nearly every major U.S. city has adopted some form of climate action plan—a document pledging GHG reductions across the transportation sector, buildings, and other infrastructure. But cities often struggle to specify detailed strategies to execute on these pledges, including how to pay for them. A lack of fiscal, technical, and programmatic capacity is a huge barrier to action.
However, regional planning and action can help overcome these barriers in cities’ climate plans. This requires local leaders go beyond individual cities (or the urban core of a metro area) and coordinate with the suburban and exurban areas surrounding them. Doing so can address some of the country’s largest GHG emissions sources, which stretch across different jurisdictions—car-centric transportation networks, for instance—while also promoting scalable strategies in the process. And there is a huge federal carrot to doing so, including a recent Biden administration initiative that commits $250 million toward regional planning efforts and other innovative climate proposals.
The need for suburbs to take climate action is obvious, especially given their role fueling the sprawl that has exacerbated many of the country’s climate challenges over the last several decades. Yet the need for action might be even more urgent in exurbs, which are located at the fringes of major metro areas and have seen dramatic growth in recent years. GHG emissions continue to surge out of these areas, where larger single-family homes consume more energy, there is a greater reliance on personal vehicles, and spread-out communities lead to less walking and biking as well as longer drives.
In metropolitan regions, suburbs emit up to four times the household emissions of their urban cores.  While households located in more densely populated neighborhoods have a carbon footprint 50% below the national average, those in the suburbs emit up to twice the average. In metro areas such as New York, GHG emissions in these outlying jurisdictions are readily apparent: Emissions in Manhattan average lower than 38 tons per household annually, but in exurban jurisdictions such as Sussex County, N.J., these emissions exceed 66 tons per household annually.
Tumblr media
It’s also important to note that looking just at households does not fully capture all the emissions spilling out of these areas, such as those from far-flung industrial, commercial, and logistics activities. Fundamentally rethinking existing patterns of development may require widespread zoning changes, extensive building retrofits, and a surge in funding to consider new, more sustainable public infrastructure improvements. Yet political leadership may have an unwillingness to even consider new approaches.
Suburbs and exurbs may be adding to the country’s climate challenges, but they are also central to addressing them. After all, higher GHG emissions in these areas are not just the result of individual households and businesses—they are largely determined by the decisions of planners and policymakers. The amount of emissions depends on whether public transportation is available in neighborhoods, prevailing land uses, the design of buildings, and the types of energy sources available. Greater regional coordination on these factors can help advance climate action. City, suburban, and exurban leaders can work together across a variety of fronts, including:
Setting clearer benchmarks and measurements to better chart their future climate plans and actions. To stimulate regional collaboration toward a more climate-friendly future, suburban and exurban leaders must be on the same page as their city peers. This includes publishing and publicizing data that shows climate change’s impact on the metropolitan region as a whole. In San Diego, for instance, the Climate Science Alliance gathered data on not just the city but the areas beyond to explain the regional impacts of climate change. This report led to regionwide meetings, educational workshops, and other events that brought city, suburban, and exurban actors together to discuss how climate change goals could be incorporated into their existing projects while also raising awareness of regional climate change issues in southern California.
Specifying and acting on the funding and financing for their climate action plans. Any plan will remain only a plan if local leaders do not have the capacity—financial capacity, in particular—to implement needed infrastructure upgrades. Cities such as Portland, Ore. and Denver—which established climate funds by raising business and sales taxes—provide examples of ways in which climate finance programs can reach the local and regional levels and ensure that the entire metropolitan region can have access to the resources needed for implementation. Other regional models—including Portland’s Economic Value Atlas—demonstrate how ongoing planning for transportation and economic development can help leaders better target investments in more sustainable, equitable ways across multiple jurisdictions.
Embracing regional entities that can bring together individual jurisdictions to create scalable climate action. Local governments at the city, suburban, and exurban levels should follow the example of existing metropolitan planning organizations and councils of governments to build and manage regional conversations and coordinate climate action strategies. The Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning is one such organization, which created ON TO 2050, a region-based, comprehensive plan to guide transportation investment and frame regional priorities on issues such as development, environment, and the economy. Establishing a similar regional network and strategy will likely run into political and logistical hurdles in many metro areas, but leaders have an opportunity to pool financial and other resources together to bargain for a coordinated strategy.
No city is an island. The relationship between urban cores and the suburbs and exurbs surrounding them should not be a one-way street in which only the central cities guide climate action. Leaders across entire regions need to look beyond the planning efforts of individual jurisdictions and test out new measurement approaches, investments, and collaborations to jump-start climate action at a greater geographic scale. Doing so not only offers promise in bridging climate planning gaps today, but also promoting more sustainable outcomes for years to come.

365 Marvel Comics Paper Cut-Out SuperHeroes - One Hero, Every Day, All Year…
Team Supplemental - The Morlocks
The Morlocks were a large community of Mutants who felt they were outcasts, living in a network of tunnels that ran throughout the tristate area of the eastern seaborne.  Many of these Mutants possessed physical differences that made it impossible to pass as human.  Feeling shunned and alienated from society, they found refuge in the underground, naming themselves the Morlock after the subterranean race form The Time Machine by H. G. Wells.
The network of tunnels these Morlocks inhabited were built in the 1950s meant to act as shelters in the case of a nuclear war but were ultimately abandoned and forgotten about.  The vast majority of the public had no idea this network even existed. There were numerous tunnels stretching out of sight, with many unexplored. The main tunnel was fifteen meters tall and ran the length of Manhattan; it was called ‘the alley’ by the Morlocks.
The community was founded by the Mutant known as  Callisto, who had discovered the tunnels and moved into them decades ago, shortly after they were abandoned. She enlisted the aid of the fellow Mutant, Caliban in finding other Mutants to create a new underground society.
Led by Callisto, the Morlocks grew into a society of hundreds of subterranean Mutants.  Raiding parties would go to the surface world to steal furnishings, food, clothing, and the other necessities of life.  They often preyed on economically deprived neighborhoods so to reduce the likelihood of their activities being investigated by the human authorities.  Many of these Morlocks were sterile and some took to abducting children from the human world whom they could raise as their own.
The Morlocks lived largely unknown for decades until they came into conflict with The Uncanny X-Men.  Callisto had abducted the X-Man known as Angel, seeking to take him as her ceremonial husband as a gesture of defiance against the ‘beautiful’ Mutants who were allowed to live so freely in the human world. Angel was rescued by The X-Men and Storm challenged Callisto to one-on-one combat for leadership over the Morlocks.  At the time, Storm did not possess her weather-controlling powers, but she was still a highly skilled combatant and she defeated Callisto.
As the new leader of The Morlocks, Storm put a definitive end to their practice of abducting surface dwellers.  She invited the Morlocks to live in peace in the above-ground world, but they declined preferring to remain unnoticed and unmolested in their subterranean realm.  Storm accepted this and, though she retained her claim of leadership, she left them in the charge of Callisto.
Not long thereafter, The Morlock tunnels were discovered by Gambit acting as an agent of Mister Sinister.  Gambit was unaware of it at the time, but Sinister had actually contracted Gambit to discover the Morlocks so that he could arrange their slaughter.  Sinister viewed the Morlocks as inferior Mutants and sought to eradicate them in order to further refine Mutant evolution.
This deplorable plot was executed by Sinister’s team of killers, The Marauders.  The team invaded the tunnels and massacred The Morlocks, leaving only a handful of survivors.  The X-Men, aided by The Avenger, Thor, attempted to save the Morlocks, but again only a small number survived.  Of those few survivors, most were left militarized in their desire for revenge on the surface world.  This led to ongoing conflicts between the remaining Morlocks and The X-Men, whom they blamed for leaving them undefended against the Marauders’ attack.
These remaining Morlocks perished over the years so that only Callisto and several overs remained and this once flourishing society of Mutant refugees was all but snuffed out.  The Morlock tunnels were discovered by The Legion of Monsters who coopted the network as a refuge for monsters known as The Monster Metropolis.
In the wake of the foundation of the Mutant nation of Krakoa and the powers of resurrection facilitated by The Five, a great number of The Morlocks have been brought back to life.  Most of these resurrected Morlocks reside on Krakoa and whether or not they will return to the tunnels below the eastern seaborne remains to be seen.
Molocks of note include the following...

The founder and frequently leader of The Morlocks.  Possessing greatly enhanced physical senses and abilities as well as a rapid healing factor that has greatly elongated her lifespan.  Callisto once lived a life of beauty, privilege and luxury but that all ended when her Mutant powers manifested and she was attacked by bigots who left her disfigured and blinded in one eye.  Turning her back on human society, Callisto went on to found Morllock society and has been a regular alley and adversary of The X-Men.  She first appeared in Uncanny X-Men Vol. 1 #169 (1983).
Tumblr media
Caliban
A Mutant tracker who is able to detect and locate other Mutants over great distances.  Caliban was among Callisto’s first recruits and played a pivotal role in seeking out fellow Mutants to make up the foundation of Morlock society.  Caliban first appeared in Uncanny X-Men Vol. 1 #148 (1981).
Tumblr media
Sunder
The behemoth known as Sunder was one of Callisto’s earliest recruits and her most dedicated follower.  His Mutant powers greatly enhanced his size, strength and durability.  Sunder survived the Morlock Masacre by The Reavers and served briefly as a member of the X-Men before perishing in a battle against The Reavers.  He has since been resurrected on the isle of Krakoa.  Sunder first appeared in the pages of Uncanny X-Men Vol. 1 #169 (1983).
Tumblr media
Masque
The mysterious Morlock known only as Masque is gifted with the ability to shape and alter other people's appearance, rearranging tissue on a molecular level with the precision of an expert sculpture.  Yet these powers do not work on himself and he has been unable to alter his own significantly grotesque face.  As such, he grew to obsessively loathe beauty in every form.  He was one of Callisto’s earliest recruits and led the Morlocks for a time following the massacre by the Marauders.  Masque has since come to better cope with his issues regarding appearance and resides on Krakoa where he helps other Mutants who feel outcasted by their physical deformations.  Masque first appeared in the pages of Uncanny X-Men Vol. 1 #169 (1983).
Tumblr media
Leach
A toddler aged Morlock whose Mutant powers and attributes were active at birth.  Leach’s abilities act to nullify any other Mutant’s powers in his immediate vicinity.  He essentially takes away other Mutant’s powers, although these powers return once they are away from Leach’s vicinity.  Leach’s power-nullification abilities also work on some non-Mutant super powered beings and the reasons for this remains unknown.  Leach survived the Morlock massacre and currently resides at The Baxter Building as a member of The Richards’ Family and student of The Future Foundation.  Young Leach first appeared in the pages of Uncanny X-Men Vol. 1 #179 (1983).
Tumblr media
Artie
Arthur ‘Artie’ Maddicks’ Mutant powers manifested in childhood, leaving him mute and physically transformed in a fashion that his father found grotesque.  Although he had lost the capacity to speak aloud, Artie gained the power to tap into and project the thoughts of himself or other people.
Artie’s father had Hank McCoy abducted so to force the scientist to find a means of ‘curing’ his son’s mutation.  The ordeal resulted in tragedy and Artie’s father was killed.  Now orphaned, Artie was taken in by X-Factor were he became lifelong friends with fellow Mutant child, Leach.  He first appeared in the pages of X-Factor Vol. 1 #2 (1986).
Tumblr media
Marrow
Young Marrow’s Mutant powers and attributes were active at birth.  She can rapidly grow boney protrusions from her skeleton.  These bones are extremely hard and durable, offering up both defensive armor and bone sword-like weapons.  Marrow was an adolescent at the time of the Marauder’s attack.  She was saved by Gambit who had tried in vain to prevent the massacre.  Afterward, Marrow came under the thrall of Mikhail Rasputin, a Mutant supremacist who placed Marrow in charge of a team of surviving Morlocks known as The Gene Nation.  Marrow and her team battled The X-Men and was ultimately defeated.  Later, Marrow would come to join the X-Men and served with them for several years.  She currently resides on Krakoa and has joined Magik’s team, The Dark Riders.  Marrow first appeared in Cable Vol. 1 #15 (1994).
Tumblr media
Erg
The young Morlock known as Erg possesses the mutant ability to absorb all forms of energy and project them in the form of a blasts from his left eye (which he called his ‘electric eye’).  He survived the Marauder massacre and was among the few Mutants who retained his powers following the M-Day decimation.  Erg became the leader of the remaining Morlocks and brought them to The Xavier Institute were they lived as refugees.  He later relocated to Madripoor and served as a member of Mystique's Brotherhood.
Erg first appeared in the pages of Power Pack Vol. 1 #12 (1985).
Tumblr media
Tommy
The young Morlock known as Tommy has the Mutant ability to transform into a flat, two-dimensional form.  As a product of her mutation, Tommy’s skin is collared a bright spectrum of pastel colors that made it impossible for her to pass as human.  Hated and feared, Tommy relocated to Morlock society where her abilities were used to steal goods from the surface world.  She was among the first victims killed during the Marauder’s massacre yet was later resurrected on Krakoa and served as a recon agent for X-Force, observing Orchis activity in Paris.  Tommy first appeared in Uncanny X-Men Vol. 1 #210 (1986).
Tumblr media
Skids
Sally Blevins’ Mutant powers manifested in early adolescence.  She found that she could project an invisible and unbreakable forcefield around her body.  The field caused any type of attack to just skid off of her and hence adopted the nickname Skids.  She ran away from an abusive household and ultimately fell in with the Morlocks.
Skids would later end up a member of X-Factor and thereafter became a secret agent for SHIELD.  She currently resides on Krakoa acting as an agent for SWORD.  She first appeared in X-Factor Vol. 1 #7 (1986).
Tumblr media
Tar
The laconic Morlock called Tar excretes an inky substance from his skin that acts as a powerful adhesive.  Nearly everything becomes stuck to tar-like substance and he can produce large amounts of it from his hands.  Tar was one of the few Morlocks to survive the Marauder’s massacre and was taken in by X-Factor.  He was later killed by agents of the Weapon X program at the Neverland facility.  He has since been resurrected on the isle of Krakoa.  Tar first appeared in the pages of Power Pack Vol. 1 #12 (1985).
Tumblr media
Beautiful Dreamer
The Morlock called Beautiful Dreamer possessed the ability to produce a cloud of smoke with hallucinatory properties.  This ‘dream smoke’ can implant false memories and erroneous identities of her choosing.  Dreamer used this smoke to manipulate the quartet of child-aged heroes called Power Pack into believing they were the children of the fellow Morlock, Annalee.  The Power Pack kids were ultimately rescued by Kitty Pryde and Nightcrawler of The X-Men.
Beautiful Dreamer survived the Marauders’ massacre but was later killed by the villainous Leper Queen.  Whether to not she has been resurrected on Krakoa has yet to be revealed.  She first appeared in the pages of Power Pack Vol. 1 #12 (1985).
Tumblr media
Bliss
Very little is known about Bliss' life before she joined the Morlocks.  Her mutant powers bestowed her a long, prehensile tongue that ends with a fanged mouth that can deliver a powerful, paralyzing venom.  Having survived the Marauders’ massacre, Bliss became militant in her hatred of the surface world and joined Masque’s iteration of The Morlocks that sought to conduct terrorist attacks on human society.  The team was defeated and Bliss ended up accepting a place in the X-Men’s refuge of Utopia off the coast of San Francisco.
Bliss’ original physical appearance remains unknown.  Her features were altered by Masque to fist make her look like Jean Grey and altered once again to make her look like Storm.  Currently she resembles something of a combination of the two women and, although this has made her a very conventionally attractive woman, she seems to revel in showing off her frightening prehensile tongue.  She first appeared in the pages of Uncanny X-Men Vol. 1 #261 (1990).
Tumblr media
Healer
Very little is known of the past of the man known only as the Healer before he joined the underground community of the Morlocks.  He possesses powerful healing abilities, able to cure individuals from severe injury or sickness by merely touching them with his palms.  He was amongst the few Morlocks who managed to escape the Marauders’ massacre, relocating to Muir Island, home of the genetic research station run by Moira MacTaggert, to tend to the wounded survivors of the massacre.  After Callisto was mortally wounded, Healer used all of his powers to bring her back from the brink of death. This exhausted him entirely and cost him hi life; although he was later resurrected by The Five on Krakoa and currently serves in the Healing Garden of the isle.  Healer first appeared in Uncanny X-Men Vol 1 #179 (1983).
Tumblr media
Feral
Maria Callasantos grew up in a housing tenement in an impoverished neighborhood of New York City.  She came from a highly abusive home and she and her sister both manifested Mutant powers and attributes in their early teens.  Both of them gradually transformed into cat-like creatures with enhanced strength and dexter and sharpened claws and teeth.  The pair ran away and ended up joining the Morlock society under the city.  Maria took on the name ‘Feral’ while her sister came to be known as ‘Thornn.’
Feral managed to evade the Marauders during he Morlock masseuse and ended up a founding member of Cable’s team of Mutant heroes, X-Force.  She first appeared in the pages of New Mutants Vol. 1 #99 (1991).
Tumblr media
Shatter
The young man who would come to called Shatter grew up in Chicago.  His Mutant powers manifested in late adolescents where upon his skin took on a hardened form.  Despondent over what he had become, he tried to commit suicided, shooting himself in the head with his father’s gun.  Herein he discovered that his new Mutant form left him effectively invulnerable and the close range gunshot only left a mere crackling on the upper layer of his skin.
Running away from home and living on the streets, Shatter would go on to help form the Chicago chapter of The Morlocks, helping fellow Mutants evade a troop of villainous sentinels.  Shatter lost his Mutant powers in the wake of the M-Day decimation and it is assumed that he went on to live the normal life he had always wanted.  He first appeared in the pages of Morlocks #1 (2002).
Tumblr media
Ape
Ape was among Callisto’s initial recruits in the creation of Morlock society.  Formerly a homeless vagrant, Ape possesses the Mutant power of object Metamorphosis wherein he can alter his physical shape to mimic that of other objects and human characteristics.  Ape managed to survive the Marauders’ massacre, but was later killed by agents of the Weapon X program at their sinister Neverland facility.  He first appeared in the pages of Power Pack Vol. 1 #12 (1985).
Tumblr media
Plague
The Morlock called Plague possessed the Mutant ability to create, magnify and spread disease in anyone she touched.  This was a highly potent power that was even able to effect Kitty Pryde when she was in her intangible form.  An early member of the Morlocks, Plague served Callisto faithfully.
Plague managed to survive the Marauders’ massacre when she used her powers to inflict an attacking Sabertooth with a rapidly spreading cancer; the villain would have surely died had it not been for his healing factor yet it nonetheless allowed Plague to escape.  She was then sought out by the Mutant villain, Apocalypse who transformed Plague into his powerful horseman, Pestilence.  As a member of  Apocalypse’s forces, she battled X-Factor and other heroes.  She perished in a fight against Power Pack when she was knocked from her flying mechanical horse and fell to her death.  Plague first appeared in Uncanny X-Men Vol. 1 #169 (1983).
Tumblr media
Annalee
The Morlock known as Annalee possessed empathic powers where she could telepathically cause others to feel her emotions as though they were their own.  Her children were killed for being Mutants and Annalee ended up a vagrant living join the streets until she found refuge with The Morlocks.
The loss of her children proved too much for Annalee and, due to the nature of her powers, many of her Morlock colleagues were overwhelmed by her despair.  As such, a number of Morlocks abducted the child heroes known as Power Pack and Beautiful Dreamer used her own powers to convince all involved that these kids were Annalee’s children.  The Power Pack kids were eventually rescued by The X-Men and Annalee found some manner of relief in caring for the young Morlock known as Leach.  Sadly, Annalee was killed in the Marauders’ massacre and it remains unknown whether or not she has been resurrected on Krakoa.  She first appeared in Power Pack Vol. 1 #12 (1985).
The Morlocks first appeared in the pages of Uncanny X-men Vol. 1 #169 (1983).

Excerpt:
(July 28, 2022 / JNS) Hamas’s battle doctrine calls for installing terrorist-military capabilities underneath and close to sensitive civilian locations, said Israel Defense Forces officials on Wednesday while exposing the locations of new combat tunnels dug underneath civilian neighborhoods in the Gaza Strip.
Operatives from Hamas’s military wing, the Al-Qassam Brigades, have been digging tunnels near medical clinics, schools and mosques, stated officials.
...
Rocket-launchers, for example, are installed underground next to a mosque; upon being activated, a multi-barrel launcher will rise out of the ground, fire its projectiles at Israeli civilian areas and flip back down.
...
An additional IDF official shared footage of three previously unknown areas of Hamas tunnels and weapons storehouses, including near the Islamic University of Gaza, where an opening to a network of terror tunnels is located, including a tunnel that runs adjacent to a United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) school and a franchised Pepsi bottling factory, and one running close to a medical clinic and ambulance center.
The goal of sharing such information is to raise awareness of the complexities of the conflict between Israel and terror organizations, said the officials.
“I don’t believe another country is subject to direct rockets launched at cities by terrorist organizations. The last attack occurred two-and-a-half weeks ago,” said another source. “The strategy of Hamas is to employ civilians as human shields … it’s a method.”
Some of the footage shared by the military showed a combat tunnel creating an unstable hole in the ground close to the UNRWA school.
“The tunnels are not stable; they can collapse at any time, endangering U.N. workers and civilians,” said the official.
...
In any future war, another official assessed, Hamas will attempt to influence the narrative of the international community with such tactics, while in Israel, it will attempt to infiltrate using drones, tunnels and overland raids in order to “gain some narrative points.”
More than 60 miles (some 100 kilometers) of underground tunnels were destroyed by the Israeli Air Force during the 11-day conflict last May.
“We have developed these strike abilities in the last 10 years in the IDF,” said the official, referring to “the capability of destroying underground targets. Hamas could have put efforts and resources to enable civilians to recover, instead of building a terrorist city underground.”
“All of these rockets have been incorporated into neighborhood schools and mosques. And they’re going after our cities—not military targets,” said the source. “They’re targeting the center of Sderot, Ashkelon, Netivot and Kiryat Gat.”
Since Hamas’s takeover of Gaza in 2007, Israel has been facing a geopolitical crisis, stressed the official, listing five major armed campaigns fought by Israel against Hamas and PIJ since that time.
He listed five major issues facing Gaza: governance by an illegal regime, terrorist rockets, the Hamas-Fatah dispute, a bad humanitarian situation and Hamas’s military build-up.
“Even if we go to a Gaza campaign, the potential to make progress on the national security of Israel is very small” due to those issues, said the source.
...
“I would compare Hamas to a scorpion that must sting. They are not aware of any other options. Because they are subject to a security siege on the sea and air, they have built an internal industry in Gaza, including missile factories. And for them, it’s good morning, let’s build rockets,” said the source.
The quantity of cement that has entered the Strip in the last 15 years for civilian construction could “build a quarter in Manhattan,” but instead went to building “hundreds of miles in Gaza under the ground and thousands upon thousands of rockets. There will be no sewage, no jobs—only tunneling, rockets and underground safe havens.”
Israel’s strategy in dealing with Gaza, said the source, is building a credible military threat and offsetting enemy capabilities, while also improving the civil-economic conditions in Gaza.
Retaking the Strip is not an Israeli interest, he said, while disengaging from it and waiting to see if it can “turn into Singapore” would likely lead to frequent wars. The remaining option, he argued, lies in military campaigns of deterrence, which are separated by as long a time period as possible, thereby enabling the western Negev to prosper and grow.

Some Actors Work Both Sides of a Script
Tumblr media
Jesse Eisenberg and Zoe Kazan
Credit...Robert Wright for The New York Times
By Jason Zinoman
Sept. 23, 2011
AT the end of a 90-minute conversation Jesse Eisenberg announced that what he really would like to do is write a musical. To which Zoe Kazan responded, “That’s the most impressive thing you’ve said this whole time.” Mr. Eisenberg answered back by listing other comments he had made. “Musical theater totally trumps that,” she retorted.
Ms. Kazan, 28, and Mr. Eisenberg, who will be 28 next month, trade barbs in a way that only people who run in the same circles would. These actors have known each other for years. They are both slightly built New Yorkers known for intelligent performances dramatizing eccentric anxiety. Mr. Eisenberg is more famous because of blockbuster movies like “The Social Network,” but Ms. Kazan has more experience onstage, starring most recently in the revival of “Angels in America.” But they both give the impression that they are younger than they are, of being indie even when acting in Hollywood or on Broadway. Now they have something else in common: They have each written a play that has a debut next month.
Ms. Kazan’s “We Live Here,” a dysfunctional-family drama set before a wedding, opens at Manhattan Theater Club on Oct. 12, the same day that Mr. Eisenberg’s “Asuncion” begins previews at the Cherry Lane Theater. Mr. Eisenberg stars in his comedy, a Rattlestick Playwrights Theater production, as a naïve blogger whose ideals clash with his life experience. On a recent morning they chatted with Jason Zinoman over coffee. These are excerpts from the conversation.
Q. It’s a cliché for actors to say, “I want to direct,” but less often do I hear them say, “I want to write a play.” Why did you do it?
ZOE KAZAN I always wrote. My parents are writers. It just seemed like something people did. I took a writing class in college, liked it, and my first year out of school I couldn’t get a job, so I wrote a play. I never wanted to be a playwright. I just didn’t say no to any of my interests. I don’t have any hobbies.
JESSE EISENBERG People ask me what my hobbies are in interviews, and I always say biking. But all I bike for is to get to rehearsal more quickly. I have no hobbies either.
KAZAN Way to go. I bet you and I would make fascinating dinner companions.
EISENBERG Pure narcissism. We could have separate dinners alone.
KAZAN I am my own wife.
Q. Jesse, tell me about your play.
EISENBERG It’s about a writer obsessed with big issues but who doesn’t do anything about them. I do what I like to do, explore parts of myself that I am embarrassed by. I grew up in an apolitical household. I never left the country. When I became an adult, I started traveling and became interested in politics, and I probably talked about things in a silly, ignorant way. So I explored this in myself and exaggerated it for comedic effect.
Q. How exaggerated is it? One of the main characters, the one played by you, gets mugged and then sympathizes with his attackers.
EISENBERG I was mugged one night in New York and slammed into a concrete pillar, and I did an interview where I said I completely understand why they attacked me. It was a poor, black neighborhood. Someone sent me an article saying: “You ignorant idiot. It’s more offensive to defend these people. It’s more racist to defend them.” He’s right, and that is the impetus for the first scene.
Tumblr media
Q. Jesse’s play deals with a relationship between brothers, while yours is about an equally fraught sibling relationship.
KAZAN I have a sister who I am close to. I was interested in the idea of the sister relationship in general. I wrote a first draft in fall of 2009. MTC commissioned it, and they gave me some money. When I was acting in “A Behanding [in Spokane],” I was going in five hours early and working on it there.
Q. Did Martin McDonagh [the author of “Behanding’] give feedback?
KAZAN He read it.
EISENBERG [Imitating Mr. McDonagh] How come no one gets his head sawed off in this?
KAZAN You don’t know, Jesse, you haven’t read it.
EISENBERG Listen, I read the play, but I think you left out a page where someone gets his tongue cut out and stapled to his eye.
KAZAN I guess I don’t really seek notes from a broad range of people. It’s more like we were becoming friends, and I was going early and he was like: What are you doing?
Q. Jesse, who do you give work to?
EISENBERG If I think my play is bad, I’ll send it to my mother because she only gives me compliments. If I think it’s good, jeez, I don’t know. My mom calls me every 16 minutes, and she says: “That’s great sweetie. You’re my favorite child out of the three of you. Why are you not president?”
Q. Zoe, you grew up with two screenwriters as parents.
KAZAN My parents will sit down at the dining-room table and give notes on each other’s scripts. It’s the worst thing in the world. It’s like the house is burning down. It’s awful for my sister and me.
EISENBERG You should give your script to my mother. She would be real encouraging.
KAZAN I would love that. Then maybe I would be her favorite child.
Q. Which is the biggest challenge for you as a writer: character, plot or language?
EISENBERG Aspects of each. It’s a cop-out of an answer. At each point I come to a problem with a plot point or character, it seems insurmountable. Or is it unsurmountable? Not to be surmounted? So language is my answer.
KAZAN I think action should be revealed through character, so if you have a plot problem, it’s probably a character problem. It’s fun and easy to write language, but there were things I loved that I had to get rid of because they are no longer carrying their weight.
Q. Does the fact you are actors have any impact on the amount of trust you have that your cast will find the right subtext in your lines?
Tumblr media
KAZAN My rewriting process has been a lot about taking away the explicit and letting the subtext speak for itself. Sam [Gold, who is directing the play] is pushing me to be brave in pursuit of that. I think it’s hard for an actor.
Q. One thing that struck me about both your plays is that in an age when plays are becoming more cinematic in structure, yours are not.
KAZAN We both work in film, so if we are going to write a play, why not write a play?
EISENBERG There’s something strange about theater. My characters consistently demonize elitism, but of course it’s taking place in a theater where only so many people can see it. I’ve been in silly popcorn movies — the kind of thing that as an actor you might feel embarrassed about — but those movies reach many more people. In a play you’re basically performing for rich people.
Q. Broadway was once the ultimate in success for a young dramatist. How do you think of it now?
KAZAN Broadway is different now than in our parents’ generation. The number of straight plays opening there now is so small compared to the 1950s, ’60s and ’70s. I see many more plays Off Broadway by dint of ticket price and what’s being produced. If it costs more, it has to reach a larger audience. That’s why there aren’t more risky plays on Broadway.
EISENBERG I don’t consider Broadway for us — as theatergoers. I never even consider going there to see something.
KAZAN I want to see “Book of Mormon,” but for $400? Look, [turning to Mr. Eisenberg] for 60 bucks, 65 bucks I can see your play, right?
EISENBERG $75, actually. Listen I know someone who can get you in.
KAZAN $75? I’m not going to see your play.
EISENBERG Hey, I was in a zombie movie.
Q. Zoe, you also wrote a movie called “He Loves Me” that is supposed to come out next year. What is it about?
KAZAN It’s a magic realist romantic comedy. Paul [Dano, who is her boyfriend] plays a Jonathan Safran Foer-type writer who has writer’s block. He has one big novel and can’t follow it up. He starts to dream about this girl and then magical high jinks ensue. But it’s rooted in reality and comes from my experience. I was in relationships in my late teens with much older men and always felt like a piece of clay. But when I got older, I wasn’t so fluid as a person anymore. My relationships got better but harder. I wanted to write about that.
Q. Jesse, you just finished shooting a Woody Allen movie currently titled “The Bop Decameron.” Why do actors always adopt his mannerisms when starring in his films? Is it because his humor is so influential or is it in the cadences of the lines?
EISENBERG Those two plus a third reason, which is that after each take, he’s giving you notes and his voice is so iconic and funny and specific. Its impossible not to [imitate it]. You also want to indulge fully in being in a Woody Allen movie. He would say, “Don’t be hamstrung by dialogue and say whatever you want.” And I just end up making his jokes. At one point I realized after I did a scene that I made a joke from “Manhattan.”
KAZAN Steal from the best, man.
EISENBERG Just not in front of him. Go down the block first.

Most NYU arrested protesters were not students–could the Biden Administration Gaza plan cause terrorism within the USA?
@bible-news-prophecy-radio
Although the media has mainly pointed to student anti-Israel protesters, some have suspected that many outside agitators were involved. Apparently quite a few:
NYU: Over Half Arrested for Anti-Israel Protests Not Tied to School
May 2, 2024
Less than half of the pro-Palestine protesters arrested at New York University last week after refusing to vacate the campus were members of the academic institution, the university said on Wednesday.
Of the 133 protesters arrested on April 22 at Gould Plaza on campus, 65 were students, faculty or other employees of NYU, located in the Greenwich Village neighborhood on the west side of lower Manhattan. …
At Columbia University in northern Manhattan’s Morningside Heights neighborhood, Hamas supporters who were not students or staff were involved in violent protests, according to the city’s mayor.
New York City Mayor Eric Adams, speaking on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” on Wednesday, revealed that “outside agitators,” including one whose husband was convicted for terrorism, played a key role in the anti-Israel protests at Columbia. https://www.newsmax.com/us/nyu-pro-palestine-protests/2024/05/02/id/1163192/
Unmask the Death-To-America Rioters

I realize that masks are de rigueur for rioters. Combined with an oversized keffiyeh they offer anonymity to the Hamas and Hezbollah wannabes. Take a gander at any footage from the nationwide campus protests and most of the anti-semites are wearing masks. https://www.baconsrebellion.com/wp/unmask-the-death-to-america-rioters/
The Anti-Israel Protests Are Being Organized By Paid Professional Agitators And Are Being Funded By The Usual Suspects
May 1, 2024
If you actually believe that it is just a “coincidence” that anti-Israel protests have “spontaneously” erupted at dozens of colleges and universities all over the nation, you are just being delusional. … these protests are being organized by paid professional agitators, and they are being funded by the same far left sources that have funded other radical protest movements in the past. …
New York City Mayor Eric Adams is a far left mayor in a far left city, and even he is admitting that there were “professionals” involved in the chaos that we just witnessed at Columbia University…
There were individuals on the campus who should not have been there. They were people who are professionals and we saw evidence of training,” Adams said. …
“This is a global problem that young people are being influenced by those who are professionals at radicalizing our children and I’m not going to allow that to happen as the mayor of the city of New York.”
Mayor Adams says that Lisa Fithian, who is considered to be “the nation’s best-known protest consultant”, was directly involved with what was going on at Columbia…
In addition, it is being reported that three groups that are heavily funded by George Soros “set up the tent city on Columbia’s lawn”…
The cash from Soros and his acolytes has been critical to the Columbia protests that set off the national copycat demonstrations.
Three groups set up the tent city on Columbia’s lawn last Wednesday: Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP), Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) and Within Our Lifetime. …
And the SJP has had a hand in initiating similar operations at other colleges and universities all over the United States…
Copycat tent cities have been set up at colleges including Harvard, Yale, Berkeley in California, the Ohio State University and Emory in Georgia — all of them organized by branches of the Soros-funded Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) — and at some, students have clashed with police.
The SJP parent organization has been funded by a network of nonprofits ultimately funded by, among others, Soros, the billionaire left-wing investor. …
The violence at UCLA is particularly disturbing. …
This is complete and utter lawlessness.
And if they get away with it there, paid agitators will try the same thing at other colleges and universities. …
One of the primary goals of these protests is to get attention, and the mainstream media has been giving them plenty of it.
Unfortunately, I believe that this is just the beginning.
I am entirely convinced that global events will soon spiral completely out of control, and that will provide plenty of fuel for more nationwide protests. https://endoftheamericandream.com/the-anti-israel-protests-are-being-organized-by-paid-professional-agitators-and-are-being-funded-by-the-usual-suspects/
Yes, the matters in the USA will get worse. Not necessarily immediately, but ultimately yes.
And, it appears that in addition to multiple millions of people entering the USA illegally the past few years, the Biden Administration is working on giving permanent residence to many from Gaza. CBS reported:
April 30, 2024
The Biden administration is considering bringing certain Palestinians to the U.S. as refugees, a move that would offer a permanent safe haven to some of those fleeing war-torn Gaza, according to internal federal government documents obtained by CBS News.
In recent weeks, the documents show, senior officials across several federal U.S. agencies have discussed the practicality of different options to resettle Palestinians from Gaza who have immediate family members who are American citizens or permanent residents.
One of those proposals involves using the decades-old United States Refugee Admissions Program to welcome Palestinians with U.S. ties who have managed to escape Gaza and enter neighboring Egypt, according to the inter-agency planning documents. …
Those who pass a series of eligibility, medical and security screenings would qualify to fly to the U.S. with refugee status, which offers beneficiaries permanent residency, resettlement benefits like housing assistance and a path to American citizenship. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/palestinian-refugees-us-gaza-white-house/
If they are screened, what’s the risk?
Well, the vast majority in Gaza support Hamas and hate the USA. As far as supporting Hamas goes, notice the following:
A new poll released by the Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research finds … the percentage who believe the terror group’s October 7 onslaught was “correct” is virtually unchanged.
According to the survey, 71% of Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank back the October 7 massacres in which in terrorists killed some 1,200 people and kidnapped 253 others, 03/20/24 https://www.timesofisrael.com/liveblog_entry/poll-over-70-palestinians-still-maintain-hamas-correct-to-commit-oct-7-atrocities/
Here is some information about Hamas’ official goals:
THE COVENANT OF THE HAMAS – MAIN POINTS . . .Goals of the HAMAS:    ——————    ‘The Islamic Resistance  Movement is a distinguished Palestinian movement, whose allegiance is to Allah, and whose way of life is Islam. It strives to raise the banner of Allah  over  every  inch  of Palestine.’ (Article 6)      On the Destruction of Israel:    —————————–    ‘Israel will exist and  will  continue  to  exist  until  Islam  will    obliterate it, just as it obliterated others before it.’ (Preamble)      The Exclusive Moslem Nature of the Area:    —————————————-     ‘The land of Palestine is an Islamic Waqf  [Holy Possession] consecrated for future Moslem  generations until Judgment Day. No one can renounce it or any part, or abandon it or any part  of  it.’ (Article 11)     ‘Palestine is an Islamic land…  Since this is the case, the Liberation of Palestine is an individual duty for every Moslem wherever he may be.’ (Article 13)      The Call to Jihad:    ——————    ‘The day the enemies usurp part of Moslem  land, Jihad becomes the individual duty of every Moslem. In the face of the Jews’ usurpation, it is compulsory that the banner of Jihad be raised.’ (Article 15)     ‘Ranks will close, fighters joining other fighters, and masses everywhere in the Islamic world will come forward in response to the call of duty, loudly proclaiming: ‘Hail to  Jihad!’. This cry will reach the heavens and will go on being resounded until liberation is achieved, the invaders vanquished and Allah’s victory comes about.’ (Article 33)      Rejection of a Negotiated Peace Settlement:    ——————————————-    ‘[Peace]  initiatives, and so-called peaceful solutions and international conferences are in contradiction to the principles of the Islamic Resistance Movement… Those conferences are no more than a means to appoint the infidels as arbitrators in the lands of Islam…  There is no solution for the Palestinian problem except by Jihad. Initiatives, proposals and international conferences are but a waste of time, an exercise in futility.’ (Article 13)      Condemnation of the Israel-Egypt Peace Treaty:    ———————————————-    ‘Egypt was, to a great extent, removed from the circle of struggle [against Zionism] through the treacherous Camp David  Agreement.  The Zionists are  trying to draw other Arab countries  into  Similar agreements in order to bring them outside the circle of struggle.    … Leaving the circle of struggle against Zionism is high treason, and cursed be he who perpetrates such an act.’ (Article 32) . . . ‘The HAMAS regards itself the spearhead and the vanguard of the    circle of struggle against World Zionism… Islamic groups all over the Arab world should also do the same, since they are best equipped for their future role in the fight against the warmongering Jews.’ (Article 32)
Hamas has more goals, but the above ones give an idea of what it has intended to be about. Hamas is an Islamic organization and has no interest with peace with Israel, nor with the USA. The slogan “Death to America” has been repeated at various anti-Israel protests this past week or so.

Should Biden Bring Refugees From Gaza To The US?
May 2, 2024
With violent confrontations on liberal campuses, the Biden administration is considering bringing refugees from Gaza to the U.S. This move could provide a haven but also risks escalating tensions similar to those of the 2020 summer of violence. … the U.S. plans could provide a crucial escape route for some Palestinians fleeing the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas, …
Critics also point out that this is the same administration that, in the past two years, has allowed over 20 million undocumented immigrants into the country, …
Given this context, it is not surprising that Biden, who seeks to retain the support of the ultra-left progressive wing of the Democratic Party, might use this proposal to win votes. This wing has shown sympathy for Hamas, and their support could be crucial in the upcoming election. …
Biden will likely proceed with his plan, even though the U.S. is considering accepting refugees from Gaza when no Arab nation has done so. https://greatgameindia.com/should-biden-bring-refugees-from-gaza-to-the-us/
This is dangerous.
Back in 2014, I posted the following:
As far as the Bible, the Palestinians, and Gaza goes, there are several prophecies that discuss what will happen.
According to a prophecy in the Book of Isaiah, the Palestinians (biblically referred to as Philistines), apparently along with some Syrians, are prophesied to be involved in war:
8 The Lord sent a word against Jacob, And it has fallen on Israel. 9 All the people will know — Ephraim and the inhabitant of Samaria — Who say in pride and arrogance of heart: 10 ‘The bricks have fallen down, But we will rebuild with hewn stones; The sycamores are cut down, But we will replace them with cedars.” 11 Therefore the Lord shall set up The adversaries of Rezin against him, And spur his enemies on, 12 The Syrians before and the Philistines behind; And they shall devour Israel with an open mouth. (Isaiah 9:8-12)
Since the above prophecy involves Ephraim and Samaria, this is indicative that the UK and USA will themselves be attacked (see Anglo – America in Prophecy & the Lost Tribes of Israel), apparently including terroristic tactics (hitting them before and behind).  Hamas has used terrorism in the past and is expected to do so in the future. (Thiel B. Fighting stops and starts: What is ahead for Gaza? COGwriter, July 27, 2014)
Isaiah 9:12 is a prophecy that points to terrorism hitting the USA and its British-descended allies by people from Syria and Palestine. The USA, Canada, and UK brought in many Syrian refugees, along with some Palestinian ones since I wrote the above. Now, the USA is looking to bring in more.
Realize that the Bible shows that terrorism is prophesied:
14 ‘But if you do not obey Me, and do not observe all these commandments, 15 and if you despise My statutes, or if your soul abhors My judgments, so that you do not perform all My commandments, but break My covenant, 16 I also will do this to you: I will even appoint terror over you, wasting disease and fever which shall consume the eyes and cause sorrow of heart. And you shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it. 17 I will set My face against you, and you shall be defeated by your enemies. Those who hate you shall reign over you, and you shall flee when no one pursues you. (Leviticus 26:14-17)
25 The sword shall destroy outside; There shall be terror within (Deuteronomy 32:25)
12 “Cry and wail, son of man; For it will be against My people, Against all the princes of Israel. Terrors including the sword will be against My people; Therefore strike your thigh. (Ezekiel 21:12)
12 Behold, these are the ungodly,Who are always at ease; They increase in riches…19 Oh, how they are brought to desolation, as in a moment! They are utterly consumed with terrors. (Psalms 73:12,19)
25 Because you disdained all my counsel, And would have none of my rebuke, 26 I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your terror comes, 27 When your terror comes like a storm, And your destruction comes like a whirlwind, When distress and anguish come upon you. (Proverbs 1:25-27)
5 Also they are afraid of height, And of terrors in the way (Ecclesiastes 12:5).
Let me also add that according to the 83rd Psalm, a confederation against the USA, its Anglo-Saxon-Celtic allies, and Israel involving Arab and European forces is coming (Psalm 83).  And I have long believed that terrorism will have to be part of this.

Israeli officials such as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have claimed that all those in Hamas will be killed or eliminated. Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen added that the plan is to make Gaza shrink. Where do those of Gaza and other Palestinians come from? Does the Bible show historical animosities between the descendants of Israel and those of the Gazans and the Palestinians? What does the Bible show that Gaza and Hamas mean? Do biblical prophecies in Amos and Jeremiah point to Gaza ending up with territories that Israel now controls? Can Israel lose territory? Will Hamas achieve some of its objectives? Despite how things may look now, Israel will lose territory to the Palestinians, including the Gazans.
While there are humanitarian reasons to allow Gazans into the USA, the USA will end up with more terrorism.
