someone shared the 1997 Trans Jadzia zine cover on twitter & it reminded me i printed out a color copy using school credits (!!!) after seeing it on tumblr in 2017 & hung it on my bedroom wall in our first chicago apartment. :)  it was between an original ~antique 1931 madchen in uniform matinee poster & a giant, vintage theater advertisement for barbarella, which. in retrospect. sure made a distinct impression. a decided vibe. some definite Semiotics happening there. "well the occupant of this room is indubitably LGBTQ. which letter? uncertain. possibly all of them"

I totally forgot about Kinky Boots somehow! And unfortunately I don't think Mädchen in Uniform is indie; I was going to add it originally but had to cut it. If anyone knows more about the German movie studios of the time and can tell me more clearly if it is or isn't indie then maybe I'll be able to add it but based on my imperfect test of googling the movie title and the word "indie" and seeing if any websites refer to the movie as an indie movie, it isn't one. That level of queerness counts though, if anyone was wondering about that.
