"Defenders of the Earth" Gets Collected into Graphic Novel

1987 Star Comic Defenders of the Earth miniseries is being collected into a paperback graphic novel from Mad Cave. The graphic novel will collect issues 1-4. Defenders of the Earth hailed from writers Stan Lee, Bob Harras, and Michael Higgins and artists Alex Saviuk and Fred Fredericks.

"Flash Gordon must team up with the Phantom, Mandrake the Magician, and the super-strong Lothar to defend planet Earth against the dark forces of Ming the Merciless. Luckily, they’ll get some help from the next generation of heroes: their children!" (Mad Cave)

Defenders of the Earth goes on sale on June 19, 2024.

Shen, a main character of the comic book series The Last Session, is aromantic and asexual.

The Last Session (2021-2022) is a DnD adventure comic about friends learning to cope with all the changes that come from growing up, created by Jasmine Walls @mythjae-blog, Dozerdraws @littledozerdraws, Micah Myers, and published by Mad Cave Studios @madcavestudios.

The Last Session was nominated for YALSA's 2023 Great Graphic Novels for Teens and was named one of NYPL's 2022 Best Books for Teens.

ROLL FOR INITIATIVE Jay, Lana, Drew, Walter, and Shen began playing Dice & Deathtraps in high school. Mad Cave has revealed a bit more about their plans for Gatchaman, including some details and a cover for the Gatchaman: Ken one-shot. Tommy Lee Edwards, who did the cover,is writing the one-shot as well, working with artist Mindy Lee. It has the subtitle of “Deathmatch” and involved Ken investigating an underground gambling ring tied to Galactor.
