ML Positivity Week!!

As we all know, whenever Miraculous Ladybug goes through a bit of an episode drought the fandom often goes through a slump as well. However, in an effort to spread some love and good vibes all around for a change, I’ve decided to start up a positivity week! This week will run from August 16th to August 22nd, and each day will focus on different ways to spread some joy!! Reblogs appreciated!

Sunday, August 16th: Favorite Artist(s) Day

On the 16th, send messages or posts to all and any of your favorite fan artists! This fandom has been immensely blessed with the emergence and presence of so many talented artists, and all deserve a little love. Feel free to flood them with tons of reblogs, asks, likes, or a ko-fi, and let them know their contributions have been greatly appreciated!

Monday, August 17th: Favorite Writer(s) Day

On the 17th, let’s take a moment to spread some love to our fic writers! Like our artists, they are both abundant, amazing, and hardworking at their craft and rightfully deserve a little bit of joy their way! Take some time to make posts or send asks, reblog and like their fics, and send plenty of kudos and comments on their AO3 as well, or a ko-fi if you can give one!

Tuesday, August 18th: Favorite Gif Editor(s) Day

Just as we enjoy watching episodes, we all obsess and take incredible joy in the wonderful gifsets that come after every airing, gifsets that take up more time and editing than I’m sure many of us wouldn’t dare do. On the 18th, spread some love their way in the similar fashion as above, and flood the dash with your favorite ones (I know I have a few lol)!

Wednesday, August 19th: Favorite Blog(s) Day

Now, it wouldn’t be fair to spread any love and positivity here without acknowledging and giving love to many of the blogs that not only crack us up, but give some life to us in ways other fan content can’t, in laughter and chaotic live blogging (which can be truly chaotic at some moments). On the 19th, make sure to message some blogs that make you feel happier every time you see them on your dash, and let them know just how great their presence is appreciated!

Thursday, August 20th: Favorite Fan Comic(s) Day

Come on, let’s admit it, we’re all a little head over heels for fan comics, and it wouldn’t be fair not to share some love and recommend a few for others to enjoy and share. On the 20th, run down a list of some of your top favs everyone should read and obsess over at least once, and make sure to @ each artist in the posts so they’ll know just how loved their piece of work is!

Friday, August 21st: Favorite Fanfic(s) Day

In the same way Plagg needs his camembert, we all need a good fic from time to time. Luckily, our fandom has quite an abundance to choose from, but often times not enough guidance on which ones are The Ones to be reading. On the 21st, recommend your favorite fics for all to enjoy, and don’t hold back on letting the writers know about your love with a quick @ to the post!

Saturday, August 22nd: Favorite Fandom Moment(s) Day

I think I speak for everyone when I say we’ve had our moments as a fandom. From the iconic breakdancing AU that blessed our dash years ago to the bananoir apocalypse that plagued us only months prior (stay peachy!), there’s been plenty of inside jokes, amazing AUs, overnight trends, and plenty of other stuff I can’t even remember to cover now that make the Miraculous Ladybug fandom, well, miraculous. On the 22nd, make sure to share some memories of your favorite moments in the fandom, or tag a few blogs that helped create a few trends!

Alright, my writer friends are near and dear to me. I love all of them and I wish I could read each and everyone of their fics because they are amazing. @macaronsforchat: first of all, she is just. The NICEST person ever!!!! And her writing is fantastic and never fails to put a smile on my face!!! She wrote fics for every day of Adrinette April, Marichat May, AND Ladynoir July (and she has even more fics besides those!! idk how she does it!!!). Whether you want to read a bunch of fics in one go or just read one, she’s got you covered!!! One of my favorite fics of hers is this magic AU she wrote for Adrinette April!! Please go check her out, she’s so great!

@inkjackets: she is an AMAZING author who knows how to make me feel all the things. I would highly recommend checking out her stuff!! One of my favorite fics of hers is this angsty one shot she wrote for the “Breakdown” prompt of Ladynoir July. it’s so sad but very good 👌. Thanks for being amazing, Inkjackets!!

@gryffindorcls: she writes the SWEETEST FICS. Like, her stuff always makes me feel full of light and happiness!!! And she is just such a kind person in general!!! Two of my favorite fics of hers are “When Words Fail” and “When Words Succeed.” They are companion pieces that tell the same story from Adrien and Marinette’s perspectives and I LOVE THEM.

@kittinoir: she is just. SUCH a great author!!!! I love the way she paints pictures with her words!! I really need to catch up on her fic Echos of You because WOW. it’s just. so great!!! even though it hurts me!!!! 😅

@chatnoirinette: oh MAN. her stuff is SO GOOD. Of all the amazing things she’s written, I think her fic “lucky (we’re in love in every way)” is my favorite. it’s just. so. beaauuutifulllll🥺💕.

Usually I'm pretty wary of fix-it-canon-divergence-fics (because most of the time the dismissive and condescending attitude of the authors towards the respective media's canon ticks me off to no end - not calling any names or anything... cough z///e-on///sama cough) and other works, yet angelofthequeers' fic "Hold Me By Both Hands" over on AO3 is outright LEGENDARY, providing a wicked alternate S2-S3 storyline.

Oh my god. There is so much feels to be had with their Seeing One Another fic series, especially if you're as much a fan of Marigami as I am. But their other fics, of course, are also top-notch. For example, the one-shot "No One To Talk To But Herself" manages to be equal parts feels-y and hilarious with all the alternate timeline shenanigans in there.

Or, in the more recent entry, one that covers the common ML salt tropes, lambasts the hecc out of the salters' common perception of certain characters. Something truly cathartic to read if you've gotten sick of all the ML salt.

To wrap up ML positivity week 2020, here’s my favorite fandom moments; -When we gush about the Lovesquare and “yell” at each other about certain moments that made our hearts collectively melt. -When someone suggests something silly to an artist in the fandom, and that artist draws it. -Charity Zines!! So many of them. I think that’s one of the most beautiful parts of this fandom, how generous we are in helping charities. Have a great week ahead everyone!

I really don't have favourite fanfic writers, but I will try to post about someone anyway. The problem with me is that I'm "picky" when it comes to fanfics, I prefer reading canon-compliant things and multichapters over one-shots, I rather don’t like reading crack and salt fics which focus too much on bashing characters no matter who (even heavy Lila salt is tiresome to me). I still read many one-shots and I don't completely avoid AUs, but I could be really interested in only particular ones, like @mireilletan Music AU in which both Adrien and Marinette are classical musicians (I'm still waiting for it!!!). But usually the less canon something is, the less I'm interested in it (especially if characters I like are OOC, I hate that). So even if I love one fanfic of someone, others could be AUs I'm not interested in. And usually I omit fics those are incomplete. Also my memory is terrible, I don't remember most of the fanfics I have read a longer time ago and nicks of their authors.

The only person I could think of is @dfcfanfics since I remember something more than one fic from her.

I really like her two multichapter fics, some oneshots and I'm interested in two of her ongoing things too (but I haven't started reading them yet). Stuck in a Backery (With You) - is the best Covid-19 related fic I have read, very long (I love it), but it never became less interesting even for a moment (and you know, I have stopped reading many fics when they  bored me too much, even I liked them at first). It's also post season 3, which means bonus points to me. Someone to Watch Over Me - the best Ladrien-focusing thing I have ever read. I don't remember that much as I have read it a longer time ago, but I know it was really good. I'm planning to reread it some day. Now I realized that despite having much fewer chapters than above fic, it has much more number of words.

Shorter fics/One-shots I could recommend: Full Stamen Ahead - really cute shorter fic. Options Include Like, Comment, Share, Bookmark and Agonize  - one-shot based on of Adrien's Instagram post. A Little Promise I'd Made Myself Getting Things Backwards - I love fics which are related to episodes.

ML Positivity Week, Favourite Blogs Day

I hadn't find time to make a post for yesterday's day, sorry. But I can’t miss today’s.

@familyagrestefanblog  is one of the first Miraculous blog I have found, even before creating my own one and I loved read posts there when I still hadn't seen all the season 3 episodes (so I needed to try avoiding spoilers from them) even when all were released, because I was waiting for Polish premiere (but not that much like in some other countries, as the season 3 finale was aired on 6th December, both episodes at once). She writes amazing analysis and theories, one of the best in the fandom. Her the newest theory about the Guardians temple should be read by everyone in the fandom, but it has just 70 notes right now. The show is not only about shipping, posts about its lore are also very important.

@kisilinramblings another blog with amazing analysis and theories. Blog with these things are my favourite, because I'm also interested in things like that the most. As well as more detailed opinions/reviews about episodes. I have always liked a lot reading long posts about things I love. If only my English was better, I would have written more longer posts myself. I tend to think and read a lot about my favourite things. My favourite post on this blog is probably analysis of the car scene from Puppeteer 2, people have a tendency to ignore other things than the Wax Statue Scene in that episode, so posts like this are even more important. Also during searching through "ml analysis" tag, I just found a post about Marinette's behavior in Desperada I haven't seen yet (well, that post was written before I started watching the show). I don't need to read that to know it's good and accurate, but I will do it for sure, when I have more time.

If you know more blogs of people who write interesting longer posts about the show and who aren't very salty (very important, I don't want to read about "bad writing" too much, I'm looking for positivity), please let me know them too!

@emsylcatac mostly for the French culture and in Miraculous, as well as for explaining the difference between the French and English versions of the show. I know that every time I have a question about the original version, I could write an to her and she will gives me a comprehensive answer.

@flightfoot among other things for writing a lot about salt fics. Thanks to her I can learn how they look like without reading. Reading bashing fics gets on my nerves, no matter if I like a character or not, it's quickly getting very tiresome. I have read some fics those focus on bashing Lila and I can't. I really can't read any more stories in which the main plot is getting Lila lies exposed and expelled her from the school. In fanfics I also prefer positive attitude.

And now @veroocasanova and her two sideblogs @discoveringmiraculousartist and @discoveringmiraculouswriters , she does great job at spreading fan works, often of little known people. You know how important are reblogs for unpopular blogs.

Not just a single fic, but a whole darn series, and HOOOO BOY WHAT A THRILL RIDE OF A SERIES THIS IS. A real rollercoaster of emotions that is quite well-written and hasn't declined in quality throughout it's run, definitely worth reading for anyone who has a thing for the Marigami pairing.

And... Honestly, I have trouble naming any specific ones.

Perhaps the times whenever new episodes get released and people are sharing screencaps, discussing their favorite moments and are just having fun discussing the then-recent episodes?

Or maybe the occasional moments of chaos and absurdity? Be it the Adrichat apocalypse, or the recent Rednana surge - this fandom just keeps finding new ways to weird me out, but it does so in a good way.

Or maybe it's how much the Love Square stuff brings the whole fandom together? Even those who don't ship the LoveSquare can't deny it's sheer power over the fandom, and it's definitely a good, positive kind of power.

Either way, this fandom certainly has no shortage of good moments to be had. Here's to more as we keep going forward!

I mean, this one is a given - they do some GOOOOOOD Marigami stuff, but are also just a great artist in general, with quite a lovely art style.

Pairing positivity? Check. Well-done art? Check. Art style that lends itself well to comedic and heartwarming stuff alike? Check!

And here I thought I'd never be into Love Square stuff. Cue this artist, with their lovely artstyle and a rather uncanny ability to do both feelsy and humorous stuff alike. Right now they're not exactly doing much ML stuff, but the stuff they've done for the fandom is legendary.

@purincipia

One of the more recent artists, their ANIMU AS HECC art style has a certain charm to it, and they manage to do both some good Adrienette AND Marigami alike.

Anyway, that's all I've got for the time being. Sorry that I ended up making this all about shipping.

And the fancomics in question are basically all of the LoveSquare comics by none other than the ever-so-amazing-but-sadly-now-on-a-hiatus @spatziline

They have quite a lot going - different AUs, both humorous and feelsy comics, and very great artwork...

But like I mentioned above, they're on a hiatus it seems. That, or they're not doing ML comics anymore.
