Mortal Kombat Onslaught: Noob Saibot (Bi-Han) & Scorpion (Kuai Liang)

For those unaware, MK1!Scorpion showed up in Mortal Kombat: Onslaught mobile game, as he needed to travel to this timeline to do a special mission for Fire Lord Liu Kang. Through the story mode we could see people’s reaction to the newcomer and their confusion of course is understandable.

So we have Sonya (Special Forces):

AND THEN WE HAVE NOOB SAIBOT, WHO WITHOUT ANY PREVIOUS INTERACTION WITH THIS NEW SCORPION, WITHOUT MISSING A BEAT SAYS WELCOME TO THE NETHERREALM, BROTHER

and like always Bi-Han need to introduce himself, because Kuai Liang has a problem with recognizing his brother (an understandable problem considering everything that happened in their respective timelines). Say what you want about older Sub-Zero, but Bi-Han, somehow, always can recognize Kuai Liang, no matter who he is and damn, that is so heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time.

Fanfiction Rating: A-?? I haven't read Malec fics since my ff.net days, but there are 32,000 fics on AO3 for them and I'm going to assume that there are some good ones in there, because nothing beats gay people writing Magnus Bane.

When Did I Start Shipping Them? 2009, baby! I read the books with my mum through my teen years, and I was onboard with the ship basically as soon as the two of them met. Magnus Bane was such a revelation for my little preteen brain, started all the gender gears whirring. Why Do I Ship Them? Again, they're some of the original queer rep in YA, I ship them for the sheer iconic nature of their relationship. But also, I love the restrained partner x uncensored partner where both of them are absolutely wild, it just takes you longer to catch on to the quieter one.

Favourite Fanfiction Tropes/Staples? I really liked shapeshifting fics back in the day. I'm not a fan of AUs for this pairing because Magnus's backstory is so fun in canon, so basically any fun magic shenanigans in the canon universe is up my alley.
