Cardano (ADA): Sell it for Solana?
New Post has been published on https://www.ultragamerz.com/cardano-ada-sell-it-for-solana/
Cardano (ADA): Sell it for Solana?
Cardano (ADA): Sell it for Solana?
Cardano (ADA), the brainchild of Ethereum co-founder Charles Hoskinson, has been a hot topic in the crypto space. However, with a recent barrage of bearish news and influencer skepticism, some are questioning whether ADA is all it’s cracked up to be. Let’s delve into the world of Cardano, separating hype from reality.
Influencer FOMO and the Solana Shadow:
Social media is flooded with “Cardano killers” like Solana (SOL) boasting lightning-fast transaction speeds and lower fees. Influencers, often swayed by short-term gains, are hyping SOL to the moon, leaving Cardano seemingly stuck in the dust.
Cardano’s Different Path:
However, Cardano takes a much different approach than the “move fast and break things” mentality of some competitors. Cardano prioritizes meticulous research and a peer-reviewed development process. This methodical approach, while slower, aims to deliver a more secure and scalable blockchain in the long run.
Cardano vs. The Hype Machine:
Recent bearish articles highlight Cardano’s slow development progress and missed deadlines. While these criticisms hold some weight, it’s important to remember Cardano is building a complex ecosystem.
The ADA Price:
Cardano’s Bullish Trajectory: A Technical Analysis Glimpse
Cardano (ADA) has been on a tear lately, and technical analysts are using charting tools to predict its potential price path. Here’s a breakdown of three possible targets based on different timeframes:
Short-Term (1-2 Months): Applying the Fibonacci retracement tool to ADA’s recent price surge suggests a first target of around $2.20. This level represents the 61.8% retracement of the current upswing, a common support zone after a price increase.
Mid-Term (3-6 Months): If the bullish momentum continues, a more ambitious target could be $14. This aligns with the 161.8% Fibonacci extension level, indicating a potential doubling of the current price within the next half year. However, reaching this target zone would require sustained buying pressure and positive news surrounding the Cardano ecosystem.
Long-Term (1+ Years): For the long-term hodlers (holders on for a dear life), some analysts are charting a much more aggressive target – a staggering $55. This aligns with the 261.8% Fibonacci extension, signifying a potential 25x return on investment from current levels. However, reaching this price point would require significant adoption of Cardano’s blockchain technology and widespread recognition of its functionalities.
Remember: This is for informational purposes only and should not be considered financial advice. Technical analysis is just one tool, and market conditions can change rapidly. Always conduct your own research before making any investment decisions.
Is ADA a Worthy Investment?
While some influencers are quick to dismiss ADA, it’s crucial to conduct your own research and understand Cardano’s unique value proposition. Here are some key aspects to consider:
Scalability: Cardano’s Ouroboros proof-of-stake consensus mechanism aims to achieve high transaction throughput without sacrificing decentralization, a challenge faced by many blockchains.
Smart Contracts: Cardano’s smart contract platform, Plutus, is built with security and formal verification in mind, aiming to minimize bugs and vulnerabilities.
Interoperability: Cardano’s vision includes interoperability with other blockchains, allowing seamless transfer of data and assets across different ecosystems.
Bearish News and Price Performance:
Despite the recent bearish sentiment, it’s worth noting that ADA started the current market cycle at around $0.20 and reached a peak of over $3.00, a significant increase. This demonstrates that long-term investors still see value in Cardano’s long-term vision.
Is ADA Right for You?
The decision to invest in ADA depends on your risk tolerance and investment horizon. If you’re looking for a quick pump based on influencer hype, Cardano might not be the best choice. However, if you believe in Cardano’s long-term vision of a secure and scalable blockchain platform, ADA could be a worthwhile investment for your portfolio.
Remember:
The cryptocurrency market is notoriously volatile and prone to hype cycles. Always conduct thorough research, understand the risks involved, and never invest more than you can afford to lose.

It's Good to Consider Death
Ecclesiastes 7:1 (ESV) A good name is better than precious ointment, and the day of death than the day of birth.
When we come to Ecclesiastes 7 we meet a few proverbs concerning the inevitable reality of death. What seems odd to say back to back - a good name + the day of death - really tie together in this particular sense: Your name (reputation) is finalized on the day of your death. How you start in life does not necessarily determine how you finish. And if you keep your end in mind, rather than your past, you'll live wisely.
In simpler terms - CONSIDER the END of your LIFE and what you want people to say about you. Thus the next two proverbs:
Ecclesiastes 7:2 (ESV) It is better to go to the house of mourning than to go to the house of feasting, for this is the end of all mankind, and the living will lay it to heart.
And then verse 4:
Ecclesiastes 7:4 (ESV) The heart of the wise is in the house of mourning, but the heart of fools is in the house of mirth.
We are told by culture to live for today, to seize the moment or the day, and to make every second count. Some suggest taking chances makes life more meaningful and exciting. It depends on the chance you take. The wise consider the long-term view of life. They don't want one silly moment of foolishness to undermine decades of intentionality and effort.
Another temptation resident in the "live for today" crowd is the applause they give you. Solomon addresses that in verse 6:
Ecclesiastes 7:6 (ESV) For as the crackling of thorns under a pot, so is the laughter of the fools; this also is vanity.
He's talking about thorns which were used as kindling in the ancient world. Yes, they can light up fast and it doesn't require much spark to get them to make noise, but kindling wood quickly fades. If you want your life to be wise, do not give much thought to the temporary praise of the foolish.
Again, Solomon has us thinking long-term about our lives.
Ecclesiastes 7:8 (ESV) Better is the end of a thing than its beginning, and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit.
What needs a long-term view in you right now? Your marriage? Your parenting? So many times we can get bogged down in the weeds of life. Or rather, we try to find an escape in temporal pleasure. Or we can become overwhelmed by how much farther we have to go and then want to give up.
May it not be.
If we want meaning and fulfillment in life it doesn't come quickly or easily. And if it seems to come quickly, be warned - it will fade.
Finally, Solomon rounds out this chapter with a few more striking words of wisdom:
Don't look back:
Ecclesiastes 7:10 (ESV) Say not, “Why were the former days better than these?” For it is not from wisdom that you ask this.
Get up and make the most of today:
Ecclesiastes 7:11 (ESV) Wisdom is good with an inheritance, an advantage to those who see the sun.
And accept what comes from God:
Ecclesiastes 7:14 (ESV) In the day of prosperity be joyful, and in the day of adversity consider: God has made the one as well as the other, so that man may not find out anything that will be after him.
Then surprisingly, Solomon advises us to moderate our religious life as well:
Ecclesiastes 7:15–18 (ESV) In my vain life I have seen everything. There is a righteous man who perishes in his righteousness, and there is a wicked man who prolongs his life in his evildoing. 16 Be not overly righteous, and do not make yourself too wise. Why should you destroy yourself? 17 Be not overly wicked, neither be a fool. Why should you die before your time? 18 It is good that you should take hold of this, and from that withhold not your hand, for the one who fears God shall come out from both of them.
Amazing to consider the Bible warning us against being overly righteous. But not hard to see when you consider it was the self-righteous over-zealous for religious practice Pharisees that demanded Jesus' death. They were so hooked on their goodness, they did not see the beauty of true goodness in Him.
In consideration of these 18 verses, we learn to consider the end of our lives while mantaining a spirit of calm acceptance at what comes knowing that our story is not complete yet, NOR is it defined by what we or others do but by what God has given and done. And in Christ, He's done it all to call us His very own.

“So that’s where my book went...” “I wanted to see what all the fuss was. You’ve had this Dostoyevsky novel on your nightstand for months.”  “Because I was reading it.”  “You have a different book now, so it all works out.”  “Uh huh.”  “Your bookmark is still on the same page if that makes it better.”  “Hmm. Because you’re my husband, I’ll give you one pass. Just one, though. Don’t get carried away.”  “Wouldn’t dream of it.”

Went through my kith and kin tag after that last post and once again lying on my floor thinking about. vex snarling at vax about his judgement being swayed by a pretty face-
(another person vax is brave enough to love, even if its dangerous. looking for the good and the kindness and the humanity among the darkness, trying to bring it forward, let vex experience it, even when it can leave him bleeding)-
and vax snarling at vex about her judgement being swayed by her desperation to be accepted-
(another time vex sees a way to secure safety and security and approval, which is safety and security, in a different form. for her, her and vax and trinket and everything she loves, safe in one place, where they can belong, they can stay)-
and. oogh.
Holding these twins in my hands. squishing them like playdough. one of them fights desperately to find the kindness and good and light even when its a fools errand. leaves himself open and hurt for a little bit of light. if it keeps vex safe, happier. one of them counting and calculating and running and cruel because the world demands it. keeps the counter going and going and does the hard things if it keeps vax whole, and okay. one close range and one long.
they'll hurt each other if it keeps the other whole. they'll gladly get hurt if it keeps the other safe. the world is harsh, and they are surviving. what the fuck. theyre such a fucked up pair. they love each other so much.

GAH LONG POST..
xingqiu and chongyun have insanely good potential for angst my god. xingqiu in particular is so fun to think about in the context of chongyun. what do YOU know about chivalry boy
thinking about how he and hu tao kinda operate on similar notions of justice and all that shmick except hu tao is more strictly averse to disrupting the Natural Order (incredibly vague and generalized concept rn sorry) whilst xingqiu sets his principles more arbitrarily. chongyun's presence somehow foils a lot of his notable character traits. gestures hands vaguely in the air but sth sth hu tao would not approve of xq's moral infractions
perhaps im just reading too deep into this but shrugs ill admit something's changed in Me the last 2 years and coming back to xq and cy has me like. scratches head now hold on im not entirely sure if i even like the way xq treats cy. its kinda one of the main points of their dynamic- the whole.. pranking this oblivious guy who i really adore etc. but its deeper implications leave me a little unsatisfied and a little troubled (?).. in the long run i personally dont really see anything substantially appealing about their (leaning towards romantic in this context) relationship other than like ?? the tropes that mhy imposed upon them. they were created as a compatible Duo ykwim. they reference each other a lot in their lore and even in-game but.. idk maybe i just view them separately instead of a joint unit that anaylzing them individually revealed a lot of crevices and cracks in their ship that's built upon their mainstream appeal
but anyway i've thought a lot about them as a duo and is it nuts to say i like them as a romantic ship but if they were unrequited. i can see them working out but it necessitates a complete subversion and reconstruction of xingqiu (chara development basically LOL) on my part that i would totally invest myself in but im not entirely sure how to execute it
i like xingqiu a LOT as a flawed character. i wouldnt go as far as to say hes toxic, just very conflicted and insecure. hes a fun character to think about. re: the hu tao bit i mentioned above, i think they would have a really fun, witty, and transformative friendship
but anyway. yes i like xq and i still like xy. theyre just a bit more complicated now aha. im still capable of enjoying fluffy ship dynamics but lately ive been in a Character Study Mood ... mmm.. ive yet to organize my chongming thoughts

I’m kinda fuzzy on some of the details of the prequel era but like the separatists have always been one of those villains who express perfectly legitimate grievances with the government but then murder babies or whatever so you know that they’re bad. and like on the whole they’re just a goofy type of evil villain that has all the bad guys with red swords leading it. So I’m not coming out to say “the separatists were right actually”, but they occupied a very familiar role in Star Wars - extreme opposition to the government in any direction is uniformly bad and leads to you becoming evil.
but then Andor does the very smart thing of having Saw, arguably the most radical rebel (ie left wing) character in the mainline canon, not like them. It gives a more definite political character to the separatists when a critique of them is coming from another “extreme” type of character in the universe, because while Saw doesn’t come out with a speech outlining exactly how and why they suck, you now are given some indication that whatever reasonable criticisms the separatists made of the Republic, they are not the same type of people leading the rebellion now, and they cannot be trusted. And this is much more subtextual, but it acknowledges that they were ultimately a right wing movement led by authoritarian people (ie the Sith). Now Luthen calls these differences petty, but Saw existing in this show and expressing a distrust of them gives both the rebels and the separatists much needed political definition. They’re disagreeing about ideological goals, which sort of neuters the horseshoe-theory style of politics Star Wars is so comfortable operating within. One extremist is not interchangeable with any other, and the reason why is a matter of ideological disagreement.

ended up telling my mom “she’s a billionaire pop star … she’s also a songwriter I’ve loved for a long time. both of those things are true.”
#not a conversation I can have for a long time as it’s too uncomfortable#but it was good to push through and say it#it’s interesting. I will always have a deep emotional connection to Taylor and also always love her as a person and an artist#and she IS a billionaire pop star with all of the attendant choices that go with that#and as i’ve gotten older there’s just been way more distance#in terms of my need to defend her choices or agree with them or even understand them#I have grown less defensive of her (in a good way)#and I think am more able to just See What Is To Be Seen#without. again. feeling the need to take it all on as something I have to defend on behalf of someone I am Holding Up as an Example#I’m not holding her up? like.#idk if this makes sense#But I remember reaching this point where I was just like ‘gosh I hope she never writes a song that contradicts any of the songs’#‘upon which I have built this artistic vision’#‘of her and what she stands for’#and it was so funny because it was this TERRIFIED desire on my part to freeze time#and freeze Taylor#so that my reading would be true forever#just wanted to put her in a cottage on the top of a hill and keep her safe there forever#metaphorically but also literally!#and then I’ve just had to let that go#best believe she’s still bejeweled lol#that was for me TOO#and anyway her sheer prolificness made it clear I was never going to be able to keep this watchful eye on it all#it was just going to have to pour in and I was going to have to let it#and also on some level emotionally personally I was going to have to step back#and be less invested in a certain way#in a very real daily life kind of way#anyway after the eras tour was so funny because i had this strong sense that we were being SWEPT out of the stadium#with Taylor’s trademark Efficiency. and it was hilarious. Like yes yes the love and connection and talent is real#and Billionaire Pop Star has places to be and a crowd of peasants to manage!!! (I say this with love and a sense of humor) anyway

DISCLAIMER: ok I wrote this over a year ago & I don't really agree with it anymore but it's an interesting take so I'll post it.
I'm thinking about how Douglas says that he "programmed Marcus to be evil". I know some people in the fandom don't like that because it implies that Marcus never really had free will & it absolves him of his actions, but it's just... such an interesting concept. And the more I think about it the more I realize that it makes so much sense.
Marcus was supposed to be a non-sentient android, & Douglas made him when he was at the peak of his villain phase--the lairs!! The monologues!! The dramatics!! Douglas knows he's evil and he loves it. When he designed Marcus he wanted an evil little bastard just like him, the perfect son. So it makes sense that he'd give Marcus core values like "evil" (though I doubt that he literally typed the command 'be evil lol').
And the thing is, Marcus can be programmed while still having free will. Just like humans, he has inclinations, sure, and a core personality, but he's not mind controlled by it. Especially if he's an AI, which he almost definitely is. AIs are made to adapt, and as Marcus grows it's entirely plausible his AI would grow beyond its core programming.
And it explains Marcus' behavior a lot!! He frequently jeopardizes missions, goes against orders, puts his own life in danger just to seem extra evil & intimidating. BECAUSE IT'S LITERALLY IN HIS PROGRAMMING.
So I think if Douglas were to ""reprogram"" him to make him not-evil, he'd just remove the bit of programming that tells him that 'being Evil is the goal above Everything Else'. Marcus would still be an overdramatic theatre kid, he'd just be a bit... smarter? He'd think his plans through, be less impulsive, less prone to anger & jealousy, etc.
