Reversal of Fortune, I liked how it was narrated (funny btw that Felicity Huffman is in this, over a decade prior to Desperate Housewives with a similar narrator). Really solid cast as well. I love Jeremy Irons and this film is no exception, he received the Oscar for Best Actor for his portrayal of Claus von Bülow. That final line where he asks to purchase insulin, great ending. I really enjoyed this one!

Will Trent (S1 review) | A Cop Drama with Strong Characters
When I watched #WillTrent, I didn't expect to be as immersed in the show as I got. The writing is good, and the cast made the show so gripping I'm hooked! #TVSeries #TVThriller #TVRecommendation @WillTrentABC @ErikaChristensen @SonjaSohn
I like police procedurals and it turns out that Will Trent had a pretty good pedigree from the get-go from creators Liz Heldens (The Passage, Friday Night Lights), Daniel T. Thomsen (Batwoman, Westworld, Once Upon a Time), and the writer of the novels the show is inspired by Karin Slaughter.Ramón Rodríguez (The One and Only Ivan, Iron Fist) stars as the titular character with Erika Christensen…

NOC Review: You Won't Lose Any Sleep Over 'The Boogeyman'
NOC Review: You Won't Lose Any Sleep Over 'The Boogeyman' #TheBoogeyman @20thHorror
We’ve been so fortunate to have a treasure trove of genuinely great horror flicks in the past year. From the Scream legacy sequels, to Ty West’s X films, last year’s Smile, The Black Phone, Nope, and this year’s exceptional Evil Dead Rise. So please forgive me for being spoiled in terms of my expectations of horror. When horror bucks clichés, it can transcend the genre, or at least satisfy…

I continued today's 12 hour #DirectedbyWomen #FilmFeast by streaming this moving documentary about actress and activist Beah Richards. Beah: A Black Woman Speaks (2003) directed by LisaGay Hamilton is available to stream on HBOMax. It's also available to view on demand via Vimeo. "It's about you living as a human being. That's what it's about, but also be mindful that the world that you want to live in and that you need to live in needs you to create it... needs YOU to create it. It needs YOUR input. The world needs you here, but you have to say. The last word has not been spoken. The last word has not been spoken." Beah Richards

Pam Grier and Robert Forster in Jackie Brown (Quentin Tarantino, 1997)
Cast: Pam Grier, Samuel L. Jackson, Robert Forster, Bridget Fonda, Michael Keaton, Robert De Niro, Michael Bowen, Chris Tucker, LisaGay Hamilton. Screenplay: Quentin Tarantino, based on a novel by Elmore Leonard. Cinematography: Guillermo Navarro. Production design: David Wasco. Film editing: Sally Menke.  Sometimes called "the Tarantino movie for people who don't like Tarantino movies," Jackie Brown feels a bit like Tarantino under the influence of Martin Scorsese. That's not just because of the presence of Robert De Niro in the cast, but also because it's the Tarantino film that feels most under control, with its long takes and following shots. It's also the first Tarantino movie adapted from other material, in this case the novel Rum Punch by Elmore Leonard, which imposes a certain rhythm on the material, unlike Tarantino's usual jazzy riffs and variations. On the other hand, any time that Samuel L. Jackson (who is to Tarantino what De Niro used to be to Scorsese) is on screen, you can feel the obvious synergy between director and star. The real star, however, is Pam Grier, whose Jackie Brown is a force of nature, proud and statuesque, like Sophia Loren or Anna Magnani in their prime. Delivering her lines out of the side of her mouth, she's clearly in control even when things seem to be going against her. She's well-matched with Robert Forster's wearily implacable Max Cherry, a bail bondsman who can't help getting too involved with his clients. It's clear from the outset that Jackie and Max have what it takes to triumph just by sheer persistence over Jackson's flamboyant Ordell Robbie, not to mention his somewhat too stoned accomplices, Louis (De Niro) and Melanie (Bridget Fonda), and the wiseass ATF agent Ray Nicolette (Michael Keaton). The pleasure of the film consists largely in watching this gallery of top-notch actors go through the paces of the plot.
