Doverstar Has it really been 20 years since Arti and I sat in that theater in FL, summer of 2002, watching Lilo and Stitch for the first time?

Apparently yes. Happy, happy anniversary to Disney's most unique film, the one that started this big franchise we got hooked on. (Yes, we're 2 days late.) This movie is unlike any other for our family, which shows, I think - since we're adults and to this day are still making fanart and fancanons for it. Thanks for 20 years made richer by this story, @chrissandersart-blog!

Today marks 20 years since the release of Disney's Lilo and Stitch in 2002. I can tell y'all now without a hint of exaggeration that I was OBBSESSED with this film when it came out. It was the only film I wanted to watch for over a year. I had memorized every line, every scene, and I would drive my family nuts begging for Stitch merchandise from the Disney store. This movie was my first hyperfixation, and its what sparked my interest in animation at the impressionable young age of three. I adore this film with my whole heart from its superb 2D animation, its story, its characters, and its message about a broken family healing from trauma and finding each other. Lilo and Stitch helped shape me into the person I am now, and it will forever hold a very special place in my heart. Happy 20th anniversary Lilo and Stitch!

Happy Experiment Appreciation Day! 👽

Oh, yes, I'm still going to keep this tradition I established going. The genetic experiments are one of the many unique things of the Lilo & Stitch franchise, and they've been around since the very beginning. Experiments like Chopsuey (X-621) from the PlayStation 2 prequel game, the early version of Reuben (X-625) from the Disney Adventures prequel comics, or... you know, Stitch (X-626) himself.

Just appreciating these now 20 YEAR OLD first movie L&S merch of Lilo Pelekai from my collection. 

I have very little merch from the first movie era surprisingly and just got most of them from years of Goodwill finds. The only thing bought were the kiddy sunglasses I used that whole year in total L&S hype.

The first Lilo dances and talks when you lift her arms, shes working still and I have another one missing the outfit but also talking and working so I might put up later on ebay because I don’t need two of them and I dont have the room. 

The soft plush is from Hasbro and the one next to it with the plastic body and blue sandles is just a hard figure doll.  Her hair was cut I think by the old owner.

I also was gonna put the sunglasses on ebay BUT I cant let it go lol

I forgot my LILO necklace I got from a GUMBALL MACHINE. It might have cost 4 quarters? I dont know but does anyone remember when there was real disney and brand name cartoons in those machines? Those were the days.
