The Sucker:
Two guys get in a car accident, luxury rolls royce completely totals the Deux-Chevaux. The rich guy (played by Louis de Funès) offers a replacement car to the poor guy (played by Bourvil), saying he has to take it to Italy because a friend of his ordered it but doesn't want to come over to France to drive it back so it saves time and helps the poor guy out for his vacations. Obviously, there's a trick: the poor guy, deemed a harmless "sucker" by the rich guy, was chosen as a mule by the mafia, led by said rich guy, because his face is not in the papers of the border patrols. The car is full of drugs, stolen jewels and gold. Of course, a rival family starts following the Sucker to get the merchandizes, the police does too, the rich guy follows to protect the sucker's back. Shenanigans ensue.
Mobsters and Mormons:
I just found out about this film and haven't watched all the way through it yet but oh my gosh, it's a comedy film about a mobster placed into witness protection and now he's got to live amongst a community of Mormons and deal with the culture clash between Italians and Mormons.

Today was far more productive than yesterday. I got to watch Le Corniaud (the Sucker) for my French class - it's about a man who is given a car that secretly hold illegal goods as he acts as an unwitting mule to the operation. It was super good and it was definitely one of the better French films I have seen. I've watched several, but not many have the same level of humor and fun as this film did.
I'm also having to start my final project for my Victorian Lit. class. I'm thinking I want to focus on Victorian courtship and the rituals surrouning pre marital relations...I was even able to find a copy of Etiquette of Love, Courtship, & Marriage on Google Books. It's insane to think that there were etiquette books released surrounding social standards and behaviors. Grantes, this is coming from a society that prohibited pre marital hand-holding, so I shouldn't actually be surprised XD.
I am slowly getting past the sickness. I'm going to miss one more day of class so I can have some more much-needed rest. I've been productive in my resting and still tutored virtually and did my homework, I'm just currently needing more time in bed than usual. Apparently, there's a bunch of stomach viruses going around, especially on my campus, so I'm just a part of the unlucky bunch.

The Godfather: Part III:
Continues the Corleone's family drama decades after the end of The Godfather Part II, I'm kind of a sucker for this one. Yes, the story isn't as tight as the first two and some of the plot points are questionable. But the cast is still really strong, the good moments are some of the best in the series, and those last five minutes hit such an emotional gut punch.
