it’s so funny that lan qiren and everyone else imagine lan zhan as that pure, virgin, virtuous man who never had one perverted thought in his life.
in reality, boy kissed the object of his affections against a tree like there’s no tomorrow, fucked him in the middle of a forest, fucked him in dreams, fucked him in a bathtub, fucked him upside down, thoroughly makes sure that ‘everyday is everyday’, probably never had one ‘virtuous’ thought ever since meeting wei wuxian instead.

Jiang Cheng is so aroace to me and I have said it before and I will say it again
He definitely eventually marries because he needs to for political reasons but he just marries a friend who is good at fighting and stuff and they are literally just buds and she has many lovers
He literally doesn't care and often forgets she's his wife and not his second in command
But like I want Wei Wuxian post canon (when they are sorta cordial and maybe sorta trying to awkwardly rebuild their relationship) to see Jiang Cheng talking to an attractive woman in Jiang sect robes handing him some paperwork and after she leaves is like: "Ho ho! Who is that pretty lady?" (。•̀ᴗ-)✧
"Hm? Oh that's my wife." Jiang Cheng replies not even looking up from his paperwork
It takes Wei Wuxian weeks to recover
Jiang Cheng isn't allowed to just get married! He's the baby of the family!
Is this harlot even good enough for his brother!?
Who allowed this!?!
Jiang Cheng is baffled by this reaction
Lan Wangji is not which is why he deliberately hadn't told Wei Wuxian about his brother having gotten married

Unless my memory fails me, the next time Lan Zhan saw Wei Wuxian after turtle cave was when Wei Wuxian returned from Wen Chao dumping him in the burial mounds? It's at least one of the next times...
Can you imagine the guilt Lan Zhan could have felt? He snapped at Wei Wuxian in the cave, and yeah they worked together to kill the turtle, and Lan Zhan sang to him. But you and I both know he was ruminating over calling Wei Wuxian a loathsome person because he didn't mean it; he was just hurting, and maybe in some hidden recess of his heart Lan Zhan knew Wei Wuxian wouldn't judge him for being vulnerable.
And then the next time he sees the boy he can't not be endlessly curious about, the boy has changed irreparably. Lan Zhan knows it can't be because of him... but... but what if he'd been nicer? What if Wei Wuxian only sees him as a cold, crying, ungrateful person?
What if the boy he trusted enough to cry in front of never comes back? What if it's somehow his fault?

i love the mdzs cornetto ads so much but i feel like novel wwx wouldn’t like ice cream, at least not the modern version of it. he canonically complains about how bland+sweet the food in gusu is i can’t imagine him loving something that’s also bland just 100x sweeter.
he’d take a bite go 🙂->🤨 and hand the rest to lwj
edit: lwj on the other hand would absolutely love ice cream and gladly take it like ☺️

This scene with Wen remnants is fascinating. Firstly, Wei Ying refused to fight Lan Zhan. He offered his life on a silver platter. Even if it became physical, Wei Ying probably would've fought back to protect himself (or others, more likely) and not attack. Secondly, you can see several reasons for Lan Zhan to step back and let Wei Ying go. He won't hurt Wei Ying unless he doesn't have a choice, and even in this scenario, he'll try to find another way to resolve the problem. At this moment, Lan Zhan didn't understand the reason behind Wei Ying's actions, but he trusted the other's moral compass enough to not interfere. But also, some part of Lan Zhan knew that what Wei Ying did was right, and he should've done the same. Unfortunately, as we previously established, Lan Zhan is still learning to feel and decipher his emotions. He hasn't reached the point when he can express himself yet. Plus, after what happened with his mother, he has a trauma concerning going against his Clan's rules.
