Tag Game: Find the Words

I got tagged by @inexplicifics to find "kiss", "laugh", and "snarl". Here's what we got:

For "kiss", an excerpt from an untitled Steter short I've been working on for a bit:

Stiles’s mouth finds his in a kiss, and Peter decides that everything else that isn’t kissing his boy like Stiles is air and Peter’s been underwater can wait. Because this? This sensation like the rest of the world is at bay and the body under his hands is the only thing that exists, that matters, the way that Stiles just gives—tilts his head so Peter can change the angle of the kiss, his mouth open for Peter’s tongue, his body moving wordlessly to the dictates of Peter’s hands—must be what being drunk feels like.

For "snarl", an except from the next fic I'm working on the Demon Eskel series (co-written with @piceuscelus), this time focussing on Lambert:

This latest time, it’s when the Father is raving from his pulpit about the Anwens. Again. It’s nothing new—they’re sinners and temptresses and worse, yadda yadda, “thou shalt know them by their unnatural white hair and green eyes”, like green ain’t a perfectly normal eye colour—but the vitriol this time is different. It only takes a few minutes for him to realize that this is personal, somehow, for the Father—this is no rote denouncing of the worldly and supposed-ungodly. No, that twisted snarl and red-faced rage are the marks of man who feels he’s been defied. At nineteen, Lambert knows well enough to recognize it by now—has seen it enough times on the face of his deadbeat father, before he and Mom left, and on the Father himself, when he’s ordering another lashing like the last few dozen just weren’t hard enough or something.

And for "laugh", a tiiiiny sneak peek of the RA AU I've been steadily working on for a few years (also Steter):

He groans. “Oh god, I’m gonna die.” Peter chuckles. “Only a little.” He tries to laugh at the terrible pun, but Peter takes that moment to crook the finger inside him against his g-spot, and it turns into a broken, stuttered moan.

Writing Update: November 2022

So, November was weird! I didn’t actually manage to do any of the things I had planned at the end of October, but it still ended up being a pretty damn great month, writing-wise, for me anyway—despite November historically not being a month where I get a lot of writing done.

Total wordcount: 17, 424 (!!!)

Highlights:

You mean aside from that gorgeous word count that was the highest monthly total for me this year???

Dreamt up a wickedly good idea with @piceuscelus that culminated in a series (which can be found here—it’s Witcher fandom blasphemy AU), where I wrote and posted the second fic (this one!)

Worked on the next installment of the Eskel/Renfri series with @violaceum-vitellina-viridis (series can be found here—I know it’s a rarepair and the two of us are the only ones paddling in this canoe, but oh my god, it’s so good)

Worked on some Patreon stuff for December and January

Started a Laiden fic because I had an idea that munched on my grey matter

Pivoted back around to a long-running WIP of mine, the RA AU (unposted, Steter) and finished what will probably be chapter six once it starts posting; WIP is now at 25.5k

Finished what will be the first chapter of the Steter BDSM AU (unposted); that WIP is now at 4.4k

Goals for December:

Finish one of the fics I have started for @violaceum-vitellina-viridis‘s birthday and post the belated birthday gift

Complete Jannuary’s batch of Patreon stuff

Start and also finish the other birthday fic I have planned

Writing Update: February 2023

Back in January, my goal was to shake the usual winter writer hibernation—and February absolutely did that. I’m feeling pretty good about where I’m at right now, and the momentum I managed to build this last month.

Total wordcount: 11, 703

Highlights:

I wrote Witcher-fandom drabbles for Fluffy February—and posted them here

I worked on Patreon content, and am getting to a place that feels good with it

Worked on the Kinky Stargent fic—it’s in the home stretch now, and I’m hoping to wrap it soon

Worked on the Eskfri series, co-written with @violaceum-vitellina-viridis, and we successfully finished and posted part three! (which you can find here)

Added a little more to the BDSM AU I’ve been working on (unposted)

Goals for March:

Finish this chapter of the Kinky Stargent fic

Re-commit into the novel rewrite

Get April’s Patreon content made

I wrote a thing! A Lambert/Aiden birthday fic (late, but shhhh) for the wonderful @violaceum-vitellina-viridis ft. trans Lamb, undercover-as-a-sex-worker Aiden, and a whole lot of resolved sexual tension. Also swearing, bc Lambert.

Writing Update: December 2022

And that’s a wrap on 2022! December usually isn’t a month where I get much writing done—it’s the “ebb” part of my natural “ebb and flow” writing cycle—but this year surprised me. Maybe it was that I didn’t plan, at the end of November, to get a whole bunch, or maybe I was just in a really good place to get things done creatively, but no matter the reason: December was better than usual.

Total wordcount: 10, 624

Highlights:

Finished the Laiden piece I had started, which clocked in at just shy of 10k, and posted it as a belated birthday gift for violaceum-vitellina-viridis (here)

Worked on Patreon stuff for January and February

Started, finished, and posted a short, smutty Eskel/Renfri piece for the lovely inexplicifics’s birthday (~3k, here)

Worked a little more on the BDSM AU (unposted); chapter 2 is officially started

Goals for January 2023:

Edit and schedule the second set of January Patreon posts

Prep and schedule February’s Patreon posts

Finish the Kinky Stargent

Start working on the novel rewrite again

Work on Steter WIPs
