my fave hc about hakuba is that he thinks he's all prim and proper. he certainly tries to present himself as one, but the moment he's with hattori he gets sucked into their petty competitiveness where they end up throwing playground insults and basically devolving into grade schoolers; he lets himself be dragged into whatever mess kaito is cooking up, even though he should know better, because he thinks he should act as the voice of reason when in reality he's just really curious and would deny ever joining in the said act if he ever did (he does); and when he's with shinichi you'd think they'd be all fine and dandy because they both love mysteries and sherlock holmes but they quickly realize that their type of mystery books besides sherlock holmes are completely different. they also discover that they love sherlock holmes for vastly different reasons and so every Sherlock Talk turns into a heated Sherlock Debate and according to kaito and hattori, it is seriously one of the nerdiest exchanges they've ever witnessed in their entire lives.

at one point someone finally points it out to him, "hey hakuba i thought you were a really calm and unapproachable dude but you actually have no fucking chill lol"

he brings this up to shinichi and shinichi's like, "yeah you don't, why do you think hattori and kaito still likes hanging out with you even when they claim that, and i quote, "your existence is insufferable and that you have a stick up your ass."

This will probably be mostly about Kai and Yusuke tho bc they're the ones rotating in the mind right now!!! I'm very sorry Joker :')

ANYWAYS LEMME SEE IF I CAN MAKE SENSE OF MY RAMBLES

Okay so, you ever think about how Yusuke and Kai were basically roped into infiltrating their father figure's palace, forcing them to confront ugly truths about their pasts, but teaching them to see the world in shades of gray as a result...?

And what I mean by that is... Yusuke idolized Madarame because he didn't want to believe that the man who cared for him was really such an asshole, because it was easier to pretend he wasn't, while Kai vilified Takuto because he'd rather be angry than sad, because it was easier to put all of the blame on someone else instead of having to face his own issues... They're coming from diametrically opposed places, but it's about the journey. The journey is the same T-T

Remember Yusuke's confidant and all of his talk about how humans contain multitudes, good and bad? And how he had to reconcile Madarame being an abusive asshole and the worst person in Yusuke’s life with his lingering fondness for his father figure and the little moments of care that Madarame did have...?

Yusuke understands how complicated relationships are, and he specifically has experience with a father figure that has simultaneously hurt him and cared for him. Even if Takuto and Madarame are not comparable, that is EXACTLY Kai is going through during the third semester. Reconciling what he thought he knew about his dad with everything he’s seeing… reconciling the discomfort of having to see all of the good, the bad, and the ugly inside his dad’s mind with his desire for truth and justice no matter how much it hurts…. reconciling his justified anger with his justified love and craving for parental affection….

AND HEAR ME OUT. Yusuke’s insistence that he can’t earn money from his art because that’s what Madarame did? Yusuke needs to be as far away from him as possible, no matter the consequences, to avoid falling into temptation or going down the same road as Madarame. He can't be anything like Madarame, even if that means having to starve himself for art. He understands. He understands Kai’s need to separate himself from the father who hurt him, even if he’s taking it to the other extreme and hurting himself in the process. Yusuke has been through this before.

And then Kai finding out that Takuto was fully responsible for the loss of his mother figure, which results in his second awakening? It just echoes Yusuke's own storyline so, so much... :')

So I think of them in the third semester, of Kai running off, upset, and being found by Yusuke... And Kai snaps at him, going “what, are you here to tell me I should go easy on my dad because he means well or cause he’s my dad or whatever?” because he's used to people taking his dad's side, and telling him he needs to calm down and go easy on him because he's trying his best. But Yusuke frowns instead, indignant at the idea that he would say such a thing, and goes “Absolutely not. You don’t have to be lenient on your father simply because he is your guardian. If there’s anyone in our team with the right to criticize Dr. Maruki, it should be you.”

And Yusuke understands how horrible it is to have to be faced with the physical manifestation of your dad's distorted desires, leading them to bond over how grossed out they are at Madarame's and Takuto's palaces. Yusuke tells Kai about how ostentatious and vain Madarame's palace was, while Kai tells him that he's disgusted by how sterile and controlling the lab is. He tells him that life is not supposed to be bland and predictable, like Takuto wants it to be, that it's supposed to be messy and fun... Yusuke can probably make a comparison to art there. About how art isn't calculated, but it's a reflection of human feelings instead. And human feelings are messy and unpredictable. And you can't take that away from art.

On a more lighthearted note, Kai would absolutely be overjoyed to model for Yusuke. In fact. Actually. Someone should probably get in there with them and stopping Kai from taking his clothes off. That someone should be Joker, I think

Anyways! Yusuke would be happy to have a model and Kai would be happy that someone is putting in the time and effort to immortalize his image in a painting! Do you realize how flattered he would be? And sure, maybe he's restless, and Yusuke definitely gets frustrated that he moves so much sometimes, but he can probably ramble as much as he wants while Yusuke paints him. So that's great for him! Kai loves talking a lot!

And he could tell Yusuke about other forms of art too. Like, you know, music! ^^ I think he would LOVE to learn about drawing or painting too, he just has never started because he's convinced he's terrible at it :')

In terms of pre-thirdsem, I think Kai would be more at ease around Yusuke than around other Phantom Thieves because he's not from Shujin, and he doesn't know Takuto as well. And if they meet before the school festival, it gives Kai a chance to make an impression that's not just "Takuto's son," you know? Just thought that was worth mentioning ^^

Also! A little detail I like is that Yusuke tends to interpret things literally, while Kai tends to make self-aggrandizing jokes... So that opens up a lot of chances for Kai to be doing his usual self-aggrandizing bit, not expecting anyone to take it seriously, and Yusuke just… looks at him… scrutinizing his body… and goes “hmm. You do have quite an impressive form…” and Kai INSTANTLY switches from cocky to a flustered, babbling mess :)

Joker can get roped into that too. Maybe Kai and Joker are playing around with each other and Yusuke then cuts in for honest flattery time, hehe.

I always say that Kai values honesty a lot, so Yusuke's bluntness and transparency would help him feel more relaxed and keep him from overthinking their relationship too much, as he does :') Meanwhile, Yusuke, who isn't the best at reading people or social interactions, might appreciate how expressive and open Kai is.

And! They're both kind of social outcasts at their schools, categorized only as "Madarame's weird pupil" and "Dr. Maruki's weird son" respectively... They've really been through a lot of similar experiences ;-;

(Call me weak, but I think it's sweet that Kai is small while Yusuke and Joker are tall lmao. Kai and his two tall boyfriends... <3)

All in all, I think Kai, Yusuke, and Joker do a lot of things for The Aesthetic(tm) but all approach it in different ways and I think that is very very cool of them :)

I basically think the OT3 would be like:

Kai: Looks unhinged, is unhinged

Yusuke: Looks like the rational one, is unhinged

Joker: Looks unhinged, is the enabler

And I was right, this was A LOT more about Yusuke and Kai than about the OT3 LMAO, I'm so sorry T-T

The potential that Shinichi and Kaito have as family is unreal, they're both so chaotic, I live for the day they find out and their reaction to it. (Because I'm assuming they don't yet)

They already bully each other all the time. Kaito has used a taser on him, and Shinichi has lowkey put him in life-threatening danger in the mystery train, among many other things.

Their interactions with the familial lense put on top now are all either very funny or touching. My mind goes to when in movie 3 Shinichi saves one of his doves and helps it heal its wing before giving it back 🥲. And omg all their interactions in movie 14 lmao

The potential for chaos NOW is insane. I love it.

They'll be each other's cool cousin at family gatherings 🥹(god knows kaito at least needs one, cause his own parents straight up suck ass).

This COULD be cool, it's just a matter of giving it the development it should have and not just- leaving it, you know?

My criteria for a comfort show are gonna be 1) any piece of media 2) that I've watched more than once and 3) that I will keep reaching for. That's it. I can't even explain what the common denominator is tbh?? It's just- the kinda movie or show that I need on DVD to easily put on again and quell the brain worms (yes, I physically own all but #4-#6).

1. My School President: What can I say, this show took me entirely by surprise! I started watching a few days before episode 4 aired - aka the pinky touch ✨ the conversation in the stairwell ✨ and the origin of Gem4th's fanclub name being Khun Nuu ✨ - and fell right in love with it. I love musical storytelling, I love coming of age stories, I love a good romance, and I love found family/friend group dynamics so this really hit the spot for me. I guess these apply to a bunch of my choices for this tag though haha

2. Cutie Pie: I've talked about this show in another tag game (as "A show people find bad but you will defend") and all of that still holds true so I won't repeat it here. I'll just add that this show introduced me to Nunew who's my favorite artist these days. :)

3. Love In The Air (Love Storm): Yup! The show that most people on here seem to recall as that extra horny one lol It's one of the first Thai QLs I watched along with as it aired, maybe even the first one. I started watching when episode 2 came out, I think? And I just loved the D/s-dynamic, lovable brat Rain, and these rookie actors so much that I not only went looking for the bts, cast reactions, and interviews but I even started following Twitter translators for the show and cast. This show (and ZeeNunew lol) was basically my introduction to how the Y industry works, what Thai fanclubs are like, and got me well and truly interested in learning Thai. I think I've seen it enough times to speak along by now cause I also used my familiarity with it to study Thai. And now that BossNoeul are finally getting a new show, I'm really looking forward to seeing them in new roles!

4. Not Me: It's simply brilliant. And it's so grounded! You know how lots of tops in Thai QLs are rich, a CEO, drive a supercar, and live in a gorgeous modern home with huge windows (and death stairs lmao)? I love that Not Me starts in a place of privilege but has White leave that behind pretty early on. Bangkok really is a city where you can constantly see the divide between rich and poor. So I appreciate this show even more after having been to Bangkok. Not Me's characters look unfiltered and real and that's how the entire show feels as well. I just love what P'Nuchy has given us here! Oh and +1 for White narrating his entire story, I just kinda love that in general (also enjoyed Kawi narrating Be My Favorite). The next two kinda fall into one category: shows I loved as a kid, remembered - found - rewatched as a teen, and still fondly remember.

5. Kamikaze Kaito Jeanne: This is a magical girl anime that I first would have seen on TV in 2001. In hindsight, this show's religious themes may have influenced me in my love for fictional faith and devotion. Just a thought, haha, totally don't have more than one dnd character who is majorly connected to divinity, faith, and devotion, even though I personally am agnostic...

6. The Weekenders: I routinely cite this as my favorite cartoon (and I watched- just- So Many as a kid omg). Since I watched this on German TV, I only know the German dub which was honestly really fun. If any Germans read this and have seen that show: Wirsing! The rest is movies all the way down!

7. Timeline: A 2003 movie with a bunch of well-known actors that arguably qualifies as a B movie because it flopped so hard at the box office. It's my trash though. I chose it at the video store, brought it home, loved it, and then proceeded to rent it like once a year lol! It's basically a bunch of archeologists and history nerds travelling back in time to the Hundred Years War to save their professor. It has my preferred time travel dynamic of Everything is fixed and whatever traces in time you leave were already there to begin with.

8. Inception: There's several Christopher Nolan movies I love but this one is just so grand and fun and maybe I also had a bit of a crush on Elliott Page back then 👉👈 I'm a born nerd so naturally teen-me used "Non je ne regrette rien" as my alarm for years lmao This category is basically just Disney & co. musicals lol

9. Mulan (1998): If you asked me to choose my favorite from the entire classic Disney musical line-up, it would always be this one. It's the queerest, of course I'd always choose it!

10. Anastasia: You know, I looked at my shelf full of cartoon musicals- no wait, High School Musical and Pitch Perfect are next to them, hm, wELL- at my movie musicals shelf and it came down to choosing between this one and The Swan Princess (1994). And this one just kinda won out because "Once Upon A December" is impeccable! And now I've got it stuck in my head 👍

Apollo: Probably who can out do each other in dramatics. It'd probably be a murder mystery probably where Junko pulls random people aside and assigns them killer and victim and they have to kill/die in a certain timeframe. Junko would help organize the clues and stuff and they'd hold the trials after. Also, imagine if Izuru was Hajime's twin who's like a prodigy or whatever but didn't want to play so Hajime just went I'll be talented enough for the both of us! Clown: Ouma dramatic recreation of his very serious death in the middle of the street gets interrupted by a car driving by so they scramble to wait on the sidewalk before returning to wailing dramatically Apollo: He finds fake blood and covers himself in it before putting like a bit of metal or something over himself but hears a honk and just throws the metal off and rushes to the side of the road, 'bleeding out' The town is so used to their antics that they don't even blink at the sight of Kokichi covered in blood Clown: Kaitos pulling him along like "go! Gogogogo!!" Shuichi's uncle is letting them use his garage as Shuichi's "ultimate lab" The adults are lowkey invested in the story line ajdvskbdk

Apollo: DICE gets in with planning deaths and stuff because they find it hilarious to watch everyone pretending to be dead/executed. They eventually get banned after everyone realised that Kokichi might be getting clues from them as to who the killer is "How am I meant to be the Ultimate Supreme Leader if you've banned my gang??? " Clown: Ouma keeps complaining saying it was totally fair because one of his skills is sleuthing. So of course he needed info!! "Fine!! They're in JAIL actually!! The reason so many of hajimes classmates survived is because he kept finding "revives" (a bear shaped cookie, or something) and just passed them out to his class He ran out before he could give one to chiaki… Apollo: Yes! Loser is finding all the boosts and is just handing them out Rip Chiaki Kokichi sulks for awhile until one of DICE tell him to grow up and cause hell for them 'Chapter 4.3' freaked everyone out because none of them expected Gonta and Kokichi to team up and kill Miu

Clown: YEAAHH, shuichis frantically flipping through the "rulebook" a spiral notebook junko gave them. "Is this allowed?? Is this allowed???" Their parents are watching from the kitchen window as they witness ouma and gonta put on the act of their goddamn toddler lives Apollo: They're so proud Shuichi panicked and told Kokichi he'd be alone after the trial and started apologizing almost in tears afterwards Clown: Kokichi was holding back his own tear tbh lmao Apollo: Shuichi was just panicking and wanted to seem cool by playing along with everyone. The second it was done, he run after Kokichi to apologize and tell him he didn't mean it Clown: Ouma sniffling and going "we're enemies right now." Meanwhile shuichis just [crying cat emoji] Apollo: DICE is not pleased but allow him to continue playing. Shuichi almost has a breakdown at Kokichi's death because he briefly forgets how dramatic the guy is and thought he went over the top with his death because of what he said Clown: THE CHILDHOOD ANGST His depressive episode when kaito was kidnapped?? That's him sniveling and going "I dont wanna play anymore" while everyone tries to convince him to keep going

Sure he can play into the whole hero thing but the flu is making it hard to keep in character. Kokichi was the one to convince him to use it for the game. Mikan isn't happy because Kaito needs rest to recover quickly but here he is, working out each night before his grandparents call him home and fighting Kokichi He gave his grandparents puppy dog eyes and they let him play as long as he doesn't overdo it Clown: He didn't wanna miss out on the game!! His goatee is a piece of paper he taped to his chin To look "cooler" Apollo: Kokichi keeps trying to steal it as a 'joke', saying he can just draw one for you! Kaito naturally does not trust him Clown: Oumas trying to sharpie his face man They have a sleepover for chapter 5 and he finally succeeds Apollo: The real reason Kaito agreed to kill him /hj

I have returned <33333 :D I’m here to show you my pretties guess which one was super easy to make and which one took me actual weeks and required me to draw 20 different poses with some characters being my first time ever drawing them (hint:::: I could draw Kaito with my eyes closed if I so wanted)

I was so so worried for the whole month bc the pic on the left are new designs and I was so scared I somehow submitted the formatting wrong for when they’d print out my designs BUT THEY CAME BACK SO PERFECT AND BEAUTIFUL <3333 this is also my first time having stickers produced so now I’ve got 50 tiny Niigo Kaitos flipping me off lmao. Posted the idea of PAFL in Proseka on my non-art account and I did a little more work on the idea, plus some doodles.

So, as far as parts go, I’d say Emu as Anya, Tsukasa as Dima, Nene as Sanya, Rui as Yura (seriously though imagine Rui singing Occam’s Razor I’m-), and for the rest I’ve cast the Vocaloids. So Miku as Katya, Kaito as Sergei, Luka as Olya, Meiko as Dr. Temnova, and I don’t have an actor for Nikita screw Nikita grr we don’t Stan Nikita in this household. The gang™️ would be played by VBS (angry Tsar Akito angry Tsar Akito omg). I wanted to cast a human as KT, but I had already cast Emu as Anya and that fits so well, and I didn’t really want to pull just one member of a different group in for it (if I were to though, I think I’d go either Kohane or Minori), plus Miku and Emu’s dynamic is very similar to Anya and Katya’s dynamic sooooo.
