My long overdue tribute to Nex Benedict.
I'm no poet, nor am I a composer, rewriting this song I love was the least I could do for a teen who was brutally robbed of their life.
Pour the wine and raise a cup
Drink up, siblings, you know why
And for dear Nex, please spill a drop
A new angel soars in the sky
Some birds sing when the sun shines bright
My praise is not for them
But the one who sang in the dead of night
I raise my cup to him
My sorrow is immeasurable
It stretches far and wide
Perhaps I will forever mourn
This child who shouldn't have died
Some flowers bloom
Where the green grass grows
My praise is not for them
But the one who bloomed in the bitter snow
I raise my cup to him
I raise my cup and drink it up
I raise it high and drink it dry
To darling Nex and all of us
Goodnight, siblings, goodnight.
Adapted from "We Raise Our Cups" and "I Raise My Cup to Him" from the musical Hadestown by Anaïs Mitchell.

Hey, just stopping in to say that König would just throw his kids around like a disgruntled baggage loader at an airport. IN A FUN WAY. He’s physical, just picks them up and moves them around like briefcases or bags of rice. His kids love it, they think it’s fun as fuck. Their dad is good at playing, he’s like a big dog with a soft mouth. He still play fights, but he never bites; they are safe, they’re free to be goofy, and young, and unburdened.
They climb on him and hang on like little possums. He just pretends they’re not there, no matter how loud they shriek laughter as he goes about his business.

i desperately wish gw2 had more food-centric lore. i think about asura food more than is probably particularly reasonable. they're sort of implied to like molecular gastronomy in the lvl500 chef quests which is fitting and makes sense, but surely not every asura is eating bespoke Pea Spheres day in and day out right? i think my favorite angle on them is a sort of 50s-80s american-esque food style where there's a huge emphasis on things being Convenient and Scientific, so you'd get a lot of absolute slop tv dinners and canned items that have labels boasting how they were nutritionally fortified and contained your day's complete vitamin intakes and so on. a lot of jellied things. i do also fully believe they would have + eat soylent.
