Kari McKeen Babysitter Extrodinare
So for those not familiar with Jack Jack Attack, Jack-jack manifested his powers while Kari (a teenaged friend of Violet's) was baby sitting him. She came way over prepared for a normal baby, educational flash cards, Mozart for brain development, the works.
Where Bob, Dash, Violet, and Lucius couldn't keep him in this dimension without cookies, she kept him happily entertained and engaged (we never see any sign of the angry hulk-esque version of Jack-jack with her).
Was she a bit frazzled? yes. Was the house a bit scorched? maybe, but she was actually doing the flash cards with him, and he seemed to be happy and learning. A feat that no one else has seemed to be able to do (except edna mode, but I don't know how educational she was, and she is an icon).
They play it off, and she has her memory erased, but she was honestly one of the most impressive characters in my mind because she didn't falter. She may have had a little internal panic and tried to call Mrs. Parr when the baby started floating through walls, but at the end of the day she did her job beyond what anyone could have expected from her.
It's definitely presented as more of a running gag and a joke, but she did an awesome job and I just think she deserves more appreciation.

You gotta hand it to Kari McKeen Incredibles because she knew that Supers were a thing in her world but she did NOT know that the Parrs were supers. She adapted so well. She was really ready for Mrs. Parr to come home and she was gonna be like "Okay, sit down, I have something to tell you about Jack Jack" until Syndrome showed up.
She did NOT know that Violet Parr had superpowers but she DID know that superpowers existed in her real world life but that no one had seen any overt powers shit in like 15 years. I maintain that Kari McKeen Incredibles should have been recruited, not mind wiped.
Okay, so she was overwhelmed and gave up responsibility as soon as another sitter came along. I was 14 once. Not that Syndrome's story was believeable at all but come on. She had no experience and no training, but she still kept up with Jack Jack's mimicry.
Sure her mouth ran a mile a minute and her mind went faster, but she was inherently good and apt and she would NOT have told.

A Violet Perspective (an Incredibles fanfic)
Summary: Life as a girl named Violet Parr is not always easy. With shyness to overcome, a family full of superpowers, and the boy of your dreams seemingly far away from your reach, it can be a bit of a challenge. But things are bound to change for the better, right?
A/N: Second person POV similar to the fic I wrote for Ericka Van Helsing in Hotel T, only this time, with Violet Parr and the Viony ship :)
__________________________________________
The first time that you hear about Tony Rydinger is during Biology class.
Kari McKeen, an overexcited classmate of yours who immediately introduces herself with much enthusiasm, tells you about him among other students at the school as you guys engage in the class activity of that day – sorting through the different animal families. He catches your interest for the way that she describes him, with a charming personality that made many girls at the school fawn over him. You’re all for cute boys… even if they didn’t pay you much mind. You hear of him mentioned by other girls as well throughout that morning, all with the same dreamy reactions, fondly sighing or giggling with giddiness after recalling some memory unbeknownst to you.
It's lunch by the first time you actually see him, and your breath hitches - true to the word of mouth, he was indeed a looker. A sweep of dark brown hair sat upon the crown of his head, with eyes the exact color of a rich chocolate and an infectious smile that seemed to bring joy to everyone around him. The way he held himself was confident, yet relaxed, and the way he spoke seemed to convey warmth, honesty, and sincerity.
Instantly, you know that he is different from the other boys you’ve had crushes on. He had a certain quality about him, one that you simply felt drawn to, one that could not be explained away with just words alone. But as you continue watching him, getting a sense of his popularity and the types of girls he gave attention to, it's clear that your chances with him are not very high. You wish you could be like those other girls – poised, not shy in the slightest, and most importantly, pretty. You sigh, distracting yourself from your own dark black hair with dry-tipped roots, gangly frame, and baggy clothing that look nothing like the short-shorts and blonde bangs some of the other girls have. Instead, you work on a sketch under the table, already committing him to memory with pencil and paper. Even when you’re satisfied with the outcome of the piece though, it doesn’t compare to his actual liveliness. Regardless, you pack it away in one of your notebooks, grinning to yourself at the feelings he was stirring within you, the happiness and joy, and hoping that he could share them with you one day.
__________________________________________
Your silent wish to rid that bashfulness comes true.
You weren’t sure exactly how it was to happen in the first place, but the way it did certainly was not at all what you had in mind. That whole mess with Dad and his secret ventures to some island to do superhero work that went wrong… While it had its unnerving moments, getting into super mode does wonders for your own confidence, rubbing off to your personality with others after the venture is over. You now wear your hair back, have a wardrobe of brighter clothing, and a smile on your face that’s not all that bashful.
It takes Tony by surprise too, when he happens to approach you at your younger brother’s track meet. Instead, it is he who fumbles around for something to say, leaving you to propose the idea of going out together sometime. You laugh to yourself afterwards. You actually did it! This scene was something that you wouldn’t have even pictured only a couple months ago. But you are ever grateful that it did.
__________________________________________
Your first date couldn't have gone more awkward, and yet somehow, you expected it that way.
After dumping him out in front of the movie theater with an order to buy the tickets and popcorn, you and your family head off to quickly tend to apprehend a speeding car thief. It didn’t take long, thankfully, and you return just in time as the titular credits roll. He’s a little confused, but doesn’t question it, as there’s another pressing matter at hand – namely, your family, who have occupied the seats right behind you guys in the theater. It’s embarrassing at times, with your dad’s boisterous laughter, Dash’s occasional teasing, and your mother and Jack-Jack noisily munching on some cookies in the background. But, for the most part, they give you your space, and you’re able to make some conversation with him and he with you. And when you do, there’s an instant click amongst you, a special connection that neither one of you can't quite put a finger on, like two pieces of a puzzle finally fitting into place. You get that feeling again. That sense of belonging with this boy. Forever.
__________________________________________
There are no words to describe your first kiss. It's wonderful. Perfect. Unexpected even. One minute you're laughing about a bad joke, and the next you find yourself enraptured in his gaze, his eyes locked to yours with keen interest. You both begin to unconsciously lean in closer, his hand coming up to carefully tuck a loose strand of hair behind your ear before skillfully moving down to cup your cheek. Your breathing quickens as you come to realize what is happening. You quickly shut your eyes just as you can feel his breath upon your face, his soft lips pressing ever so gently against yours. It's quick, chaste, and he pulls back enough to gauge at your reaction. You smile timidly, looking up into his eyes with an excited glint in them. He smiles widely, a light blush tinting his cheeks as he leans in again for another, you leaning in to meet him halfway.
__________________________________________
It takes a span of one minute for Tony to change the way he sees you forever. You’re worried for a moment that this is a repeat of what had happened when the Underminer attacked Municiberg, where Tony, in fear and confusion, had sprinted off without awaiting some sort of explanation. This time was also an accident. Jack-Jack, next you guys and munching this time on some spicy-flavored chips, had suddenly sneezed out, flames shooting right out of his mouth. You yelp in surprise and act upon instinct, generating one of your forcefields around the two of you to prevent the flames from striking. At the same time, Dash runs off at his top speed to the kitchen, grabbing a cup of water for the baby to drink. Something like this was a normal occurrence in the house, but it’s only after it happens and you bring down the forcefield that you realize just how it has affected Tony. He gapes at you, his jaw dropped in utter shock, and you have no choice but to admit the truth. And, unlike that first time when he was wary, he was actually very pleasantly surprised by having a Super girlfriend with a Super family, whose parents were the legendary Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl. Why, it was incredible!
You blush at the word “girlfriend” and laugh at the obvious pun he makes of your father’s name, knowing now that your secret would be safe with him.
__________________________________________
The wedding comes exactly four years later, just a couple of months after you guys’ graduation.
His proposal is craftily done as your families celebrate the occasion at your house. He says he has a gift for you, and you think at first that it is a bouquet of flowers or a nice piece of jewelry. Your second guess is right, though it catches you by complete surprise to see just what kind of jewelry it was. It was a ring, with a beautiful gem on the top nestled inside an elegant velvet box that he holds up to you while down on one knee. Tears fill your eyes as you gratefully throw your arms around his neck, excitedly repeating “Yes!” over and over and over.
At the wedding itself, your father is a bumbling, sobbing mess. Your mother is far more collected, though she sniffles a little and dabs at her eyes with a napkin while the vows are exchanged. Your brothers are ecstatic as well - despite the gags and pretend recoils they made at anything too "lovey-dovey", they still expressed joy at the momentous occasion.
You end up staying in Metroville, Tony inheriting the Happy Platter restaurant from his parents while you take on a career in fighting for justice. He fears for your safety at first, not knowing if his wife truly was as safe as she made herself seem when fighting crime. You reassure him on multiple occasions, as your parents or brothers regularly come to your aid to fight as a team. You can tell he feels safest with you in his arms, secure in knowing that you've made it past another day, and that he won't lose you.
__________________________________________
Your first child comes after nine months, a lovely little girl. Amethyst Rydinger, with soft brown eyes like her father's and hair a deep shade of brown it nearly looked black.
Your second child, two years after that, is just as breathtaking. John Joseph Rydinger - or "JoJo" for short – had rich ebony hair and twinkling blue eyes. Your parents are caring towards their grandchildren, and your brothers make surprisingly good uncles. And, as your children grow, you can’t help but laugh at how similar their relationship is to the one you had with your siblings in their youth, squabbles, shrieks and all.
__________________________________________
Amethyst's powers reveal themselves on an otherwise ordinary day. It’s the summer, and the weather was unusually hot even for Municiberg’s standards. You set up a little rubber kiddy pool outside in the backyard, your children already waiting with their bathing suits, and turn to grab the hose from the side of the house to fill it up with. But, as you turn around with the hose in hand, you are stunned to find that the once empty pool was now filled with water. Before you could question why, Amethyst raises her arms, a gush of water coming right from her palms. You grin, turning around to call indoors for your husband only to find that he had witnessed it as well, and was now standing open-mouthed with shock at the patio doorway with the icy drinks he was holding having fallen right out of his hands. Instantly, Tony runs right over, engulfing you and your daughter in a tight, happy hug.
It's even more surprising at JoJo's revelation of powers, realizing that both your children inherited the so-called "Super gene" from you. His are the complete opposite of his sister’s, being the ability to harness pyrotechnical forces and emit them through his palms as well.
It worries you at first, uncertain of how your husband - a non- Super - would feel about it. To your delight, he takes it in stride, simply overjoyed to have such a unique and talented family.
__________________________________________
Your mother passes first, at the ripe age of 82. Your father delivers a heartfelt speech in her honor, voice quivering with sadness as he recalls how brave and beautiful she was. Your brothers are unusually quiet next to you, Dash looking down at his boots while Jack-Jack stares straight ahead blankly.
Your father passes only a couple months after, the heartbreak being too much. He's buried alongside your mother's grave, their Superhero emblems engraved onto the stone.
Winston's speech at the memorial is emotional, full of sorrow and grief for the loss. An elderly man himself, he recalled the days in which Supers had been legalized once more, with your parents having been dedicated to the profession of helping others around them. Unable to take it, you sob quietly, leaning your head against Tony’s shoulder as he wraps an arm around you for comfort.
__________________________________________
You retire from Superhero work at 70. It’s five years past the NSA advised retirement age for Supers, but you just find it difficult to give up on your passion. Tony assures you that it’s okay, pointing out that Amethyst and JoJo have had it handled quite well in their own careers as NSA Supers. You know that he’s right, and you let out a sigh of relief, snuggling up against him on the couch. You’re content to know that your children have successful careers, proof in how the news reporter stood with them now, gushing over their success in successfully apprehending criminals from a bank robbery, and content with the outcome of everything that had occurred thus far in your life, both Super and civilian, having Tony, your wonderful husband and metaphorical partner in crime, by your side the whole time.

HALF LIFE BLUE SHIFT MAIN CHARACTER FULL
Rick Dicker interrogates Kari, who has been having trouble trying to control Jack-Jack. Jack-Jack is the main character in the short film, with Jack-Jack being at home with a babysitter Violet sent for, being Kari, a friend from school. Jack-Jack Attack "The baby was exploding! You ever seen an exploding baby before, Mr. After the race, The Underminer emerges from underneath the earth and declares war, and the family, including Jack-Jack, put on their masks. Three months later, Jack-Jack is seen with his family at Dash's track race. Jack-Jack also chuckles to Dash's remarks of the possibility of the family having to move again. Soon after Elastigirl and Jack-Jack lands safely on the ground, the wreckage of Syndrome's jet falls onto the Parrs and their residence, destroying their house, but the family survive thanks to Violet wrapping her force-field around them. Incredible has thrown his car at Syndrome's jet, knocking Syndrome off balance, and Syndrome-wearing a cape-gets pulled into the jet's turbine, leading to his death and the destruction of his jet). As Elastigirl turns herself into a parachute to bring Jack-Jack safe to the ground, Jack-Jack notices an explosion way above her (Mr. Jack-Jack is rescued by Elastigirl, who is thrown into the air by Mr. He disables one of Syndrome's rocket boots, causing the supervillain to fly uncontrollably and crash into his jet upon impact, Syndrome drops the baby. With that, Syndrome kidnaps the baby and flies away to his jet, but Jack-Jack uses his powers to defend himself against Syndrome by turning into a fireball, a heavy steel ball, and a small monster. When the Incredibles return home, they find Syndrome with Jack-Jack in his hands as he openly declares that he will raise him to become his sidekick. Later, Syndrome shows up, and Kari, thinking he is the replacement babysitter, eagerly places Jack-Jack into his care. But her determination to have some fun ends with trouble when Jack-Jack begins showing signs of his powers that she tries to control and eventually anticipates. When the rest of his family is occupied with a supervillain named Syndrome, Jack-Jack is looked after by Kari McKeen.
HALF LIFE BLUE SHIFT MAIN CHARACTER FULL
When a doorbell is rang by family friend Lucius Best (Frozone), which also stops the fight and makes the Parrs return to their seats, Jack-Jack turns to the door and asks "Hello?"Įdna Mode made costumes for the entire family, including a flame-retardant jumper for Jack-Jack which, coincidentally enough, is needed as Jack-Jack has the ability to burst into flames and become bulletproof, though this being done before the family could determine the full extent of Jack-Jack's powers. During the scene where the family is having dinner, Jack-Jack is shown to enjoy watching his older siblings Dash and Violet fighting (Dash teases Violet about her crush on her schoolmate, which insults Violet). Jack-Jack is first seen being bathed by his mother, Helen, in a kitchen sink while she talks with his father, Bob, over a telephone, telling him that the family has just moved in. For the first year to year and a half of his life, Jack-Jack didn't seem to exhibit any signs of powers. Incredible (Bob Parr) and Elastigirl (Helen Parr), and his older siblings are Violet Parr and Dash Parr. Jack-Jack is a baby and the youngest child of the Parr family his parents are Mr. The Incredibles "The only normal one is Jack-Jack, and he's not even toilet trained." - Violet Parr complaining to her mother about not being normal

I like to imagine Danny as the ghost version of Jack Jack from the incredibles. Other ghosts learn of this baby ghost stuck on the wrong side of the portal and try to give it the stimulation and entertainment he needs (fights), and he just wipes the floor with them. These ghosts are calling their friends like “Mrs. Parr, it’s me. Danny is fine but weeeiiirrd things are happening, and you need to tell me what to do cause I’m- ahhhh!”

Kari McKeen Appreciation
Kari McKeen is an amazingly competent teenager. She managed all of Jack-Jack's powers on her own. The house was still standing, and for the most part Jack-Jack seemed to have a good time. She was slightly singed at the end, but wasn't actually harmed by the fire or lasers, and all without any guidance or experience with supers.
Even the next day, after a full night of running damage control, she still tried to do the educational flash cards (fairly successfully, even if the fire was an unfortunate side affect).
I know it was a bit that she was out of her depth, but honestly, I think that if she ever baby sat Jack-Jack again she'd do fine. Her main problem was that she was learning trial-by-fire with no prep. (Think trying to use a fire extinguisher instead of coming prepared with a fire blanket.)

What do you think of the ship violet x voydr? Or maybe violet x carly
I think that Voydlet will be really cute in like a decade when Violet is getting out of college and Voyd and her have been on a superhero team mutually pining for the past couple of years. Voyd kisses Violet at her graduation while she's all panicky about her future. She already has some idea that her feelings may be reciprocated because of comments Violet has made during drinks after heroing a handful of times.
Carly/Violet is also a cute ship. I could see Violet getting really into the whole technology aspect of vlogging with her gf.
If as I suspect you meant Kari, that's actually a pretty big ship of mine and I drew some art for it a while back.

Meanings Behind the Names - The Incredibles (2004), Incredibles 2 (2018) THE (LITERAL) GOLDEN TRIO - Bob / Robert: [Germanic] “Bright fame” (BehindTheName); “famed, bright, shining” (SheKnows); derived from the Germanic elements hrod “fame” and beraht “bright” - Helen: [Greek] “Bright, shining light” (Nameberry); cognate of the Greek Helenē, which is derived from the root ēlē, “light, torch, bright” (BabyNameWizard) - Lucius: [Roman] “Light,” derived from Latin lux “light” (BehindTheName) THE OXYMORON - Robert Parr: Robert means “bright fame,” but Parr is a play on the phrase “on par” meaning “average.”
THE CHILDREN - Violet: [English] “of the purple flower” (BehindTheName); in addition to her purple-hued hair and eyes, the name can either be thought of as descriptive of Violet’s shy nature (i.e.: a “shrinking violet”) or of her forcefield powers which seem to manifest themselves from the ultraviolet side of the light spectrum. - Dashiell: [English] Anglicization of French surname de Chiel, meaning unknown. There is no hidden meaning to Dashiell beyond justifying the name “Dash” - John Jackson “Jack-Jack”: [English] John means “God is gracious,” and Jack is a diminutive of John. Many people have speculated that Jack-Jack is either a reference to JFK’s son, John F. Kennedy, Jr. (born 1960, one year before Jack-Jack) who was known as “John-John.  Others have said that his name is a reference of his being a ”Jack of all trades“ with his many powers, but Brad Bird has maintained that "Jack-Jack” was simply the nickname of his own son, Jack.
THE ALLIES - Edna Mode: [Irish], Anglicized form of Eithne, meaning “kernel, grain,” or [Hebrew], meaning “pleasure.”  Her name was likely chosen based on its similarity to Edith, as costume designer Edith Head served as Edna’s inspiration. (BehindTheName, Wikipedia); Mode is a German word for “fashion”
- Richard “Rick” Dicker: [German, English] “Strong ruler” from ric“ruler, leader” and hard“strong, brave” (Wikipedia); Dicker is an English occupational name for a digger of ditches or a builder of dikes (Ancestry.com)
- Kari McKeen: [Norwegian] Norwegian short form of Katarina, cognate of Katherine, related to the Greek name Aikaterine, whose meaning is unknown, but who in the early Christian era became associated with the Greek work katharos, meaning “pure.” (BehindTheName); McKeen and its related forms are anglicized forms of the Gaelic Mac Iain “Son of Ian.”
- Tony Rydinger: [English] “Highly praiseworthy” (SheKnows, OhBabyNames), “priceless” (Baby Center), “of inestimable worth” (BabyNameWizard); a form of the Roman name Antonius (Behind the Name); Rydinger/Ridinger is a habitational name for someone from any of several places in Bavaria named Riding or Rieding (Ancestry.com)
- Honey Best: [English] from the Old English hunig; original a nickname for a sweet person. Best is an English surname meaning “the beast,” and may refer to one employed as a herdsman (Wikipedia) THE VILLAINS - Buddy Pine: [English] clearly a nod to the character’s desire to attach himself to Mr. Incredible as a buddy or sidekick; Pine is of Anglo-Saxon origin meaning a resident near or in a pine forest (Surnamedb.com), but it’s also a play on the verb “to pine” (to yearn intensely and persistently especially for something unattainable they still pined for their lost wealth), referring to Buddy’s relationship to Mr. Incredible. - Syndrome: likely a play on “Hero Syndrome”, a mental disorder in which a person seeks recognition by secretly creating dangerous situations and then publicly resolving them, thereby setting him/herself up as a hero (i.e. starting a fire, then coming back to “heroically” put it out). Syndrome’s plan is to establish himself as a superhero by creating a destructive robot that he alone has the means to defeat, unleashing the robot on the city, and then flying in to “save the day”. (found on IMDB Trivia) - Mirage: an optical illusion caused by atmospheric conditions; something that appears real or possible but is not in fact so. - Operation Kronos: Syndrome’s master plan is based on the ancient Greek myth of Kronos, king of the Titans and father of many Greek gods and goddesses. After hearing a prophecy that one of his children would overthrow him, Kronos eats all of his children so that he can remain the only king. This is similar to Syndrome’s plan to murder all the superheroes in the world so that he can become the ultimate superhero. - The Underminer: an (ingenious!) pun encompassing the two meanings of the verb “to undermine,” 1) to erode the base or foundation of, 2) to damage or weaken (someone or something), especially gradually or insidiously.
THE SETTINGS - Nomanisan Island: a play on the phrase “No man is an island”, which means that a person cannot work alone, they need help. (IMDB Trivia) - Municiberg: another play on Metropolis, both roughly meaning “hometown” (IMDB Trivia). This is where Bob, Helen, and Lucius spend their glory days before the Superhero Relocation initiative. This is the city saved at the end of the movie, and the location of Lucius and Honey Best’s apartment.  - Metroville: a combination of Metropolis and Smallville, which are, respectively, the cities where Superman lives and where he was raised (IMDB Trivia). This is where Bob and Helen move to after the Superhero Relocation. Since Lucius’ apartment is in the city of Municiberg, it can be inferred that Metroville is a nearby suburb of the larger Municiberg.
THE SEQUEL - Winston: [Old English] “joyful stone” from wynn “joy” + stan“stone” (Ancestry.com, Think Baby Names). - Evelyn: Of course, the primary meaning behind this character’s name is the pun on the phrase “Evil Endeavor.” For the name in general, there are several alternate and uncertain origins:  1) A combination of Eve [Hebrew] “life” and Lynn (Baby Center) 2) [English] “wished for child” (Nameberry) 3) [Old French] from aveline meaning “hazelnut” (SheKnows) 4) [Old Irish] “beauty” or “radiance” (Wikipedia) 5) [German] “little bird”
- Deavor: Members of the Deavor family originally reached English shores as they migrated following the Norman Conquest of 1066. The Deavor family lived in Essex, but the family can trace their roots much farther back. They were originally from Ver, near Bayeux, Normandy where it was from the local form of this place-name, de Ver. Their surname literally translates as from Ver (House of Names)
- Karen: [Danish] Danish form of Katherine, a cognate of the Greek Aikaterinē, the root of which is katharos“pure, unsullied” (BabyNameWizard)
