I'd really love a version of "The Menu" from Judith Light's character's perspective.
She's just going about her business, going to dinner with her shitty husband again. There's a girl there that kind of looks like her daughter and she is like, "Doesn't she look like Claire?" and the husband shuts her down, so it's back to eating in silence.
Then the toritllas delicioso (should it be 'a?) come. And she realizes that very girl she thought looked like her daughter? Is an escort. And her husband cheated on her with this escort.
Who looks like their daughter.
We see Erin/Margot tell Chef about how the Husband (I refuse to learn his name) rattled her, by making her pretend to be the daughter.
But we never see the realization really, in the Wife about how gross he is. How much does she guess?
And there's that great moment where they cut off his finger and then give her his ring back, like this is totally normal. What does she do with the ring? Does she wear it? Put it in her purse?
The moment when all the women get to sit around the table togetehr to wait for the men? She tries to make the sous chef feel better when she cries and is like "I don't usually like... foam." I don't know if that is genuine sympathy or her trying to ingratiate herself, but it's not as obviously about trying to save herself as the food writer's ploy.
We know by the end that she has given up fighting it. She says "thank you" when Chef lights the fire to "make them clean."
But I want to know when she bought into it. Was like, "Well, this is happening."
I also, and I've said this before, really like that she gives Margot a "shoo" motion with her hand. She doesn't hold the cheating against the service worker, and that's the opposite of how a lot of women respond. Maybe she knows her husband is gross. Maybe she does see her daughter in Margot ("that same faraway face") and is happy that she played the game well enough that she can escape.
Or maybe she just knows that they were all invited there for a reason except Margot, who is just a victim of Tyler, and sees how unfair that is to punish her for the sins of a man who hired her.

The Menu’s original motion picture soundtrack is available on vinyl for $30 via Waxwork Records. The score is composed by Colin Stetson (Hereditary, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Color Out of Space).
Scheduled to ship in February, the album is pressed on 180-gram splatter colored vinyl. It's housed in a gatefold jacket with matte satin coating featuring artwork by Matt Needle and a 12x12 art pint.

"Has anyone given any thought to why all the frequent screen actresses who do a little stage show every few years are white blonde ladies of a certain age? Well, regardless, this white blonde lady is a tour de force on stage, and few other screen actors can say the same thing."

"Last propaganda was a eulogy, so let's make this one a celebration. Marin had a voice we will never hear the likes of again. She could be a bold and brassy broad with a belt that would make Ethel Merman jealous. And in the same breath, she could soar up the octave to shatter every glass in the room with a crystal-clear coloratura most singers only dream about. It didn't matter if it was a dirty ditty or a wrenching aria. She owned every song that passed her lips. When she walked into a room, she brought joy with her. She exuded light and happiness and love even to the end. She was truly a golden goddess of a woman with a naughty sense of humor that would have you rolling on the floor with laughter."

Bite Me, Choke Me ~Dom!Elizabeth Donnelly xFem Sub!Reader
Tumblr media
Summary— A little smutty blurb with Elizabeth and Reader. A heated making out session in Liz’s lap leads Reader to tests the boundaries a bit… How does Liz take to Reader biting her lip…?
Mommy… Master List
Requests & Prompt-List
Warnings: NSFW, 18+!!, implied smut, making out, chocking, kissing, biting, teasing, taunting, talk of use of belt, ma’am kink, implied future smut, etc.
Enjoy (;
Much to your delight, tonight you found yourself in Elizabeth’s lap lazily making out with her. Her hands wandered along your frame, scraping her nails lightly along your exposed skin and making you shiver. Your hands wrapped around the older blonde, koala-ing yourself to her frame. Her tongue was deep inside you mouth, exploring and making you mewl in pleasurable delight.
You hips began bucking into her lap as you got more and more needy. Liz couldn’t help but chuckle and comment on your neediness, before going back to eating your mouth. Her hold on you only tightened the more you ground, until you couldn’t move at all. You whined in response and gingerly but the older woman’s lower lip.
Before you knew it, one of Liz’s hands was on your throat and squeezing tight in response to your bratty bite. Your eyes popped a little wider and you hasped for air, bucking your hips into her frame. She pulled away and looked at you.
“Did you just bite my lip…?” Liz purred warily.
You gulped and nodded slowly. Liz smirked in response and tightened her grip on your throat, making you wheeze for air and grind down in her lap even more frantically.
“You like that…?”
You nodded vigorously.
“Mmmmm mhmm!!” You choked out, eyes wide and dark, “aghg yes ma’am p-please—!”
Finally, she let your throat go. You sucked in a sharp gasp, air filling your lungs fully once more, leaving you panting in the woman’s lap. Liz then pulled you forward to straddle her thigh and guided your hips to start grinding down on her tensed leg. You yelped and scurried to hold the older blonde’s shoulders for support, eagerly grinding down on her thigh. Liz then leaned in close, right next to the shell of your ear.
“The next time you pull something like that, it’ll be a belt instead of my hand…” Elizabeth cooed.
Jolts of pleasure shook your core from her words, and you weren’t quite sure if Liz was encouraging or discouraging you from trying that again…

Broadway Divas: Obscure Sondheim
To highlight how vast and varied Sondheim's roles and shows are, these five Divas have a singular Sondheim credit to their repertoire that are a little more obscure than most. So obscure that my dream of finding pictures to dazzle you all with was quickly shattered.
Bebe Neuwirth as Cinderella's Stepsister, Florinda, in a reading of Into the Woods for a 1994 movie that never came to fruition. This reading took place at director Penny Marshall's house and had a truly breathtaking cast: Robin Williams (The Baker), Goldie Hawn (The Baker's Wife), Steve Martin (The Wolf), Danny DeVito (The Giant), Carrie Fisher (Lucinda), and fucking CHER as The Witch. Bebe Neuwirth and Carrie Fisher as catty sisters tormenting Cinderella and getting their eyes pecked out. And then Cher trying to feed them to Danny DeVito. We were robbed of a masterpiece.
Judith Light as Joanne in a Reprise! presentation of Company at UCLA's Freud Playhouse. Though not known for her singing abilities, Judith was nevertheless part of an all-star cast for this two-week run in 2004. The only review I could find was...not favorable. It's been twenty years, and I, for one, think Judith Light deserves her chance at redemption.
Linda Emond as Mary in Merrily We Roll Along, 1988. The Seattle-based ACT company produced Sondheim's biggest flop musical through the month of May in 1988. Linda, then in her late twenties, played the female lead in a rare musical role for her. And I do have a picture thanks to ACT's fantastic archival system.

Pictured: Linda Emond (Mary) center, surrounded by Joseph Dellger (Franklin Shepherd) and Joseph McNally (Charley). And no, I cannot tell which man is which...
4. Susan Blackwell as The Giant in a 2019 one-night-only staged concert of Into the Woods. If you thought the recent Broadway revival was bare-bones, it had nothing on this staged concert at the Town Hall in NYC. There is one singular photo that includes Susan, and without knowing she was meant to be there, you'd never be able to identify her.

5. Paula Leggett Chase as Stella Deems in Follies, a one-night-only special event in Tangier, Morocco featuring a transcontinental cast of Divas. Since 2013 (excluding pandemic years), Rob Ashford has staged fundraising productions of shows such as A Little Night Music, The Crucible, and Jacques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in Paris. Confusingly, though Paula sang Stella Deems' song "Who's That Woman," she was credited in the program as Emily Whitman (presumably they just combined the roles for this production and gave them to the dancer in the cast?)
