Better Call Saul is a love story, and this finale cemented that. Jimmy spent the entire series hiding from himself, putting up these little facades, using them as band-aids to cover up the numerous emotional wounds that had been inflicted on him, but doing this chipped away at his sense of self, becoming just pieces of a man. It was only with Kim that he could feel like himself, and feel some measure of wholeness, so when Kim left him, the pain was so great that he couldn’t bear being Jimmy anymore — because who is Jimmy McGill without Kim Wexler? — and he decided to be Saul Goodman 24/7.
Jimmy throwing away his plea deal and confessing to everything wasn’t done to fix things — there are far too many broken pieces and dead bodies to fix any of it — it was done for the love of Kim Wexler. It’s why he lured her out to the hearing, so he could confess in front of her. Spending the rest of his life in federal prison was worth it as long as he could prove to her that he was the man she thought he could be. As long as he could prove to her that he was worthy of her love. That’s what the final cigarette they shared together represented. The spark of hope. Hope that Jimmy could move on and learn to be one whole person again, and hope that their love could persist, even with one of them behind bars.

Best of 2022 TV Shows #4: Better Call Saul (AMC)
Time catches up for everyone.
Tumblr media
As Jimmy McGill, a.k.a. Saul Goodman aka Gene Takavic learned this year with his final journey.
Tumblr media
It’s absolutely stunning what Vince Gilligan manage to craft not only once but twice By doing a deep dive with the old adage of the fall from grace. Bob Odenkirk is a perfect example of long game acting and it shows here in all three variations of his long con.
And everybody was absolutely perfect not only Odenkirk and Rhea Seahorn but even bringing the series full circle with the welcome return of Bryan Cranston and Aaron Pauls Walt and Jesse.
Tumblr media
Capstones are a rarity in entertainment. It’s fitting that Vince Gilligan has earned this one.
SUM 22: The Game ends for Jimmy McGill as his actions finally catch up in the finale of Vince Gilligan’s 14 year epic.

Frosty (and I) Returns…to Channel KRT!
Following up from the previous post, here I am back on the Channel KRT podcast to discuss the little-known Frosty sequel “Frosty Returns”! What happens when a studio that isn’t Rankin-Bass tries to build their own snowman with blackjack and hookers John Goodman, Elisabeth Moss, and the Flying Dutchman? You get an odd, not-quite Christmas special with environmental overtones that furthers the…

TW: homophobia, minor transphobia, references to prostitution, vague descriptions of sex acts
I see you all had wonderful reactions to our last little bit on the general. But it was all on the act of the leak, not the content! We expected surprise, the man has killed three people! Though, I suppose most people at your organization have killed someone, so it shouldn’t be too much of a shocker…
Maybe this little bit of classified info on the general will throw you all off a bit more, show you who he really is. We created this file in the case that we ever had to warn the United States Government of the threat PEIP's general serves, and now's as good a time as ever. @goodman-howie, you might want to see this, Mr. President. Your employee has a very colorful past.
On General Johnathan S. MacNamara; Sexual Dalliances. Written by ██████ ██████-█████████. Dated ██/██/████.
In approximately one week of research, I managed to find evidence of 87 separate sexual encounters with MacNamara. With women, men, and others. Right off the bat, this is an immediate red flag. He is known to interact with children regularly, often being incredibly affectionate with them. He is also blatantly and unashamedly queer, often bringing it up in topics that are wholly irrelevant. Add these two together and you have a man who is a danger to our children running one of your own organizations. Do you really want that?
In regards to the sexual encounters, 45 out of the 87 occurred during a two year period that coincided with his time at Portland Community College. There are records of him being paid for his services among both men and women. He had two regulars and many one or two-off encounters. Yes, I am implying what you think. PEIP's favorite general, the responsible one, the straight-laced rule follower, spent his college years as a male prostitute. Now isn't that something?
The remaining 42 encounters occurred at various times in between 2001 and 2019. They were few and far between up until November 2005, during which the frequency of the encounters drastically increased. Between November 1st and February 14, he "hooked up" with ten different men. He was working on a major emergency at PEIP at the time, and yet he had the time to consistently have sex with other men? Strange.
After the 14th, MacNamara abruptly stopped any interaction of that nature for a year. Exactly one year later, his poor habits started up again. He fucked around, dated around, had short-lived romantic relationships, it doesn't particularly matter. What is strange though, is that up until the February of 2020, he would always find a partner to spend the night of the 14th with. He seemed to prefer female partners, but during earlier years he leaned more heavily towards male ones.
This is all to say that your general is dangerous, he's unstable. He interacts with men, women, and other genders in the same way. I can safely assume some of you know that's not natural. You either strictly like the same sex as your own, or strictly like the opposite sex. He says he's queer, but for all you know he's a liar, just trying to get extra brownie points. In addition to his instability, he has also proven he is unable to focus on work. He regularly makes time for dalliances of both the romantic and sexual nature, rather than doing the work he's meant to. Maybe if he didn't spend so much time fucking other men, we wouldn't have gained access to this information.
That is all. We here at ███████ █████████████ just thought it was necessary to know of your employee's unstable sexual history. Maybe he'll be blackmailed, maybe he'll go back to old habits, maybe he'll get distracted by an attractive enemy and get one of your sons or daughters killed. It doesn't matter, he's a danger. Thank you for your time.

Some history books I liked
English "The Domestic Revolution" by Ruth Goodman "Heiresses: The Lives of the Million Dollar Babies" by Laura Thompson "Quackery: A Brief History of the Worst Ways to Cure Everything" by Lydia Kang and Nate Pedersen "Grave Goods" by Tui Snider (not quite history but still a good little read) "The thieves' opera" by Lucy Moore (Jack Sheppard and Johnathan Wilde) "Wayward Women: Female Offending in Victorian England" by Lucy Williams "The viceroy's daughters" by Anne de Courcy (the Curzon Sisters) "Cleopatra: The Queen Who Challenged Rome and Conquered Eternity" by Alberto Angelo (Note: I did read the german translation) "Empress Dowager Cixi: The Concubine Who Launched Modern China" by Jung Chang (Note: see above)
German "Dark Rome" by Michael Sommer "Als Deutschland erstmals einig wurde" by Bruno Preisendorfer (Everyday life during Bismarcks lifetime) "Scheuersand & Schnürkorsett - Wie Frauen lebten und litten" by Sandra Lembke (Everyday life between 1850 - 1914, the author tried a lot of it) "Sprengt die Ketten" by Adam Hochschild (the british fight against slavery) "Gott gebe, daß das Glück andauere.": Liebesgeschichten und Heiratssachen im Hause Habsburg" by Gabriele Praschl-Bichler

"This is one of my most favorite voice actors. Who can voice Kimi perfectly in Creationverse. I would like to thanks to my bff's for this idea. Decided to do this to give Johnathan Leon a spotlight again. He's been a hero to me like John Goodman. Ever since Heavenly Delusion came out years ago. He's also a voice of Kazushi Yamiagishi in Tokyo Revenge and Tomoichi (Teen) in Inu-Oh." UwU

Morning Cuddles
Requested by: @bisexualbumblebeeblogs
Prompt: #13 - “I would’ve had breakfast ready, but you were sleeping on my arm and I didn’t want to wake you” and #15 - "No, you can’t get up! You’re my prisoner for today” from my Prompt List.
Pairing: Johnny Goodman x reader
Genre: Fluff, Implied Smut
Characters: Johnny., Y/N, Jackie
Description: Y/N and Johnny have stayed the night at the house and are trying to have a peaceful morning.
Your eyes fluttered open to see warm sunshine sifting in through the gap in the curtains. Smiling, you turned around to face Johnny only to see him staring straight back at you. “Good morning, beautiful.” He leaned over and pressed a soft kiss to your lips. “Good morning, handsome.”
A warm smile graced his features as he stared at you, taking in every detail as if it was going to be for the last time. You stayed like that for a while, just staring at each other until your grumbling stomach cut the moment short. A small giggle escaped your lips. “My body’s telling me I’m hungry.”
“Well, I would’ve had breakfast ready for you, but you were sleeping on my arm and I didn’t want to wake you.” Just as you were about to go in for a kiss, Jackie opened the door and walked straight inside without a thought and began opening the curtains.
“Mum! What do you think you’re doing?!” Johnny covered the both of you with the duvet whilst you tried to stifle your laughter. Jackie turned around and gave a smile. “Oh, Johnny boo, you needed to get up out of bed. It’s getting late.” She then walked back out of the room without closing the door.
Johnny let out a frustrated groan before getting out of the bed and closing the door. You turned towards the bedside table to take a look at the clock. “Er, Johnny. It’s only 8.30. Why does your mother think that it’s getting late?” Johnny got back into bed and wrapped his arms around you, pulling you into his chest.
“She is set on a completely different time frame than anybody else in the world. It drives me mad. Sometimes, I don’t know how I coped growing up here.” You giggled at Johnny’s comments before you turned around in his arms to get out of the bed. When Johnny knew what you were trying to do, he tightened his grip around you.
“Where do you think you’re going?” You fought as hard as you could, whilst laughing, but no luck. “I need to go to the toilet, let me go!” Johnny pulled you back towards him and nuzzled his face into the crook of your neck. “No, you can’t get up! You’re my prisoner for today.”
You shook your head at his silliness but eventually stopped fighting and cuddled back into him, resting your head on his chest. “I wish we could stay like this all day.” A small, happy sigh left your lips. Johnny wiggled his eyebrows. “I know, but my mum’s going to be back up soon so, we best make the most of the time we have alone.”
