Sejong Special Self-governing City, Sejong Science Base, Sejong-ro, Sejong Institute, Sejong University, Sejong Telecom, etc., have many proper nouns named after Sejong. It seems that the symbolism of the name itself is enormous and it is appropriate to write it in Latin letters. Incheon International Airport w회원가입없이 무료영화 다운로드 사이트as also originally intended to be named Sejong International Airport, but it was canceled due to opposition from local public opinion in Incheon. There is a record that King Taejong allowed King Sejong to eat meat when he was dying. However, this w회원가입없이 무료영화 다운로드 사이트as not allowed simply because Sejong liked meat. Originally, the Confucian funeral culture is very harsh. When the father dies and pays a three-year mourning, he has to wear cotton clothes, eat three meals a day, and sing along with the news. Therefore, most of these funeral procedures were simplified to a few days. However, since Taejong had an intuition that King Sejong, who was deeply filial, would pay his three-y회원가입없이 무료영화 다운로드 사이트ear funeral according to the standard[61], the fact that he left a will that allowed meat to be eaten during the mourning meant that he should place more importance on taking care of state affairs in a healthy way than his own funeral. was Seeing that King Munjong, a son who looked just like King Sejong, passed away at an early age after paying a three-year funeral in a row, this can be seen as King Taejong's keen consideration.[62] In North Korea, King Sejong's invention of Hunminjeongeum is fundamentally based on his domination ov회원가입없이 무료영화 다운로드 사이트er the people, and the feudal exploitation of the people during the reign of King Sejong was evaluated negatively. Surprisingly, this view is similar to that of Japanese anti-Koreans and colonial modernization scholars such as New Light and Lee Young-hoon. It may be surprising, but it is not su회원가입없이 무료영화 다운로드 사이트rprising that their interpretations are unexpectedly similar when you trace back to the roots of the New Rights.[63] The objection to this is in the document. According to the records in the Annals of the Joseon Dynasty, they are the only two kings whose myoho were notified to the Ming Dynasty along with his son, Munjong. Originally, when Joseon interacted with the Ming and Qing dynasties, only the posthumous names received from the Chinese dynasties were used instead of the names of Taejo and Seongjong. This회원가입없이 무료영화 다운로드 사이트 was because myoho was basically a etiquette used only in the imperial kingdom. However, when King Munjong died, he openly announced to the Ming Dynasty that "My king's myoho was named Munjong, and the previous king's myohoho was Sejong." However, seeing as nothing like this has happened since then, it seems that there was something diplomatically problematic. Various scientific instruments made during the reign of King Sejong were excavated in large numbers at th회원가입없이 무료영화 다운로드 사이트e entrance of Pimatgol, 79 Insa-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul on June 1, 2021, which is expected to be a major opportunity to demonstrate the history of science in Joseon. In particular, the Ilseong Jeongshi (日星定時儀), a complex clock that turns into a sundial during the day and a star clock at night, and a jujeon (籌箭), a bead ejection device for a water clock, were also discovered for the first time in real life, which greatly 회원가입없이 무료영화 다운로드 사이트contributed to the accurate restoration of related artifacts. It is expected that this will be Day and night clock that King Sejong saw… wake up in the ground He was the first king of the Joseon Dynasty to be honored for life during his reign. The previous kings, Taejo, Jeongjong, and Taejong, respectively, died after abdicating the throne.
Quote[edit] “Our language is different from that of China and does not communicate with Chinese characters. For this reason, there are many people who are unable회원가입없이 무료영화 다운로드 사이트 to express their intentions despite what foolish people want to achieve. I just want to be comfortable with it." Preface to 《Hunminjeongeum Eonhae》 "He was not a king based on genealogy. He was not the king of the Jeonju Lee clan, but a king given by heaven. He made Jeongeum and all the books written for the sake of the people. He really worried about the nation and really worried about life. Confucius praised Guanzhong's histo회원가입없이 무료영화 다운로드 사이트rical contributions and said, "If it weren't for this person, I would have become a barbarian!" If only they were there, I really wouldn't have been able to avoid the beast." Ham Seok-heon

So this was the first story I ever wrote on Ao3 (A Scarlet Heart Ryeo fanfiction) I love this story with all my heart but I never had time to update it 😭😭. Maybe this year I'll get to it, but here's a sneak peek!! Also note : King Jeongjong is called Wang Yo as it was his name before being crowned. Enjoy 🥰
Tumblr media
Winter 946
Around this time, King Jeongjong barely started his reign, being that it had only started the season before. Though the first snow of the season hasn't arrived yet, all around could tell it was winter by the cold air, layering up drinking tea more than ever.
Unlike many, Hae Soo liked when winter arrived. Even as Ha Jin, she liked the thought of winter, seeing the snow fall then playing in it with her family. Despite now not being able to enjoy this time of year the same way, the memories were enough to keep her in a pleasant mood.
As preparation for the first snow, all construction was at a halt, allowing So to come for the Winter festival. She also heard that Jung too would come, though he would have to return back to the army seeing he was the head general.
The king may not be too pleased hearing of So's return, but he knew trying to ban him without a proper excuse would make the consul start talking, maybe they'll try to put a stop to him. It wasn't that he was scared of them, he just didn't need anymore stress.
He looked outside from his high place, donned with a dark fur at attempts to keep him warm. A snarl came across his face. He hated the cold. It stopped him from his archery. Well, not exactly, but he knew if he attempted to there was a chance he could get ill, which isn't something he could afford. If he got sick like Mu, someone would try to take the throne from him.
He watched the court ladies doing their various tasks, all except Lady Hae of course. It wasn't that she was lazy, quite far from it. That may be mostly due to him not really giving her a chance though. Jeongjong wouldn't be surprised if He Soo thought if she slacked off he may try to terminate her. In all truth he wouldn't, she was worth too much in terms of keeping his brothers in line.
He learned from his court men whenever she didn't have duties, she would either confine herself in her room doing who knows what or talking to his 13th brother. The thought of doing the latter infuriated him. He knew they were always close, but it seems with the lack of the others her attention almost always went to him.
He noticed the smile she would have when around his brother, not even something she would give So. It was like she fawned over him.
There were also the gifts she would give his 13th brother at almost every meeting, according to one of his spies. He didn't doubt that the time she spent locked up in her room she would create these things.
Jeongjong wasn't her biggest fan, but it was shameful knowing she openly did all this with Baek Ah, while serving him. It seemed like a lack of respect. If others got a hold of what they do, some would suspect they were having their own secret liaison. Though he didn't like to think about it, there was that small fear that it was indeed true, and that one day both of them would try to overthrow him.
He knew in order to keep the chain of power permanent in the palace, he needed to start on his plan. He knew it was drastic, but it needed to be done.
Despite it being early in his reign, Jeongjong needed to think of a crown prince. He didn't need to declare who it is right away, but he'd be damned if he allowed his mother to talk him into making Jung crown prince. He never felt animosity towards his younger brother, but he knew that wouldn't last long of his mother meddled.
Since his 'death', his first wife decided it would only make sense to not only kill herself, but also his son, thinking they would suffer. He thought it was cowardice and showed the lack of faith they had in him. Maybe the others were right in saying his political marriage so young was a mistake.
That being done, Jeongjong knew he needed to marry again. This time, he knew he needed to be careful. He needed a woman who was head strong,who wouldn't allow others to bully or overthrow her. He needed someone calculating and would take things mind over heart.
Of course, his first thought would be Hwangbo Yeon Hwa, but she along with her brother proved to be unworthy. He admired her a little when they were younger, especially with the stunts she pulled against Hae Soo. That was all done though after her brother betrayed him. Despite working close to him now, he knew the true intentions they had for the crown. He refused to take the chance of marrying her then losing the crown to her brother.
Then, he thought, just standing there for some time, ignoring the head eunuch begging him to take a step inside.
What finally distracted him from his thoughts though was seeing a figure in the royal garden. It wasn't any figure, but Hae Soo of course. She must've finished all her duties for the time being. From where he saw, she was picking flowers, most likely thinking they were the last for the season.
How childish he thought. He attempted to look away, but couldn't. It was mesmerizing, seeing her look happy despite all of the happenings to her. How was it that she could keep up such a farce? How was it that the mere sight of flowers could make her so happy?
There was no real reason why, but he needed her to suffer. Jeongjong wanted her to feel pain. Maybe it was because he saw how she managed to enchant every one, even his father at the end. It's no fair she rise up the ranks for simply being nice. Those on top need bite; not that she didn't have any now, but there was just something off about her.
The picture of the royal decree his mother hid for so long came to mind. He never read it, and by the looks of it his mother didn't either. It was sealed from the outside; so if she had opened it, it would be an act of treason.
Maybe that's the key to his reign, what ever was in the parchment.
Walking away towards his room, he tells the head eunuch to call Lady Hae to give him tea, he needed something to warm him.
~~~
Hae Soo was picking the last of the flowers, knowing she wouldn't see them again until spring. She planned to dry them to use for soaps throughout the cold season, knowing how dry the skin could get. Maybe she could make a cream instead, it would be nice seeing that she basically made her own makeup line. Not that she would be able to do anything with it.
She was able to get a basket full of flowers when the head eunuch said the king had summoned her. Though grimacing, she nodded and replied she would be there shortly.
She decided it would be best to head to her room and tidy herself a bit before serving the royal pain. Not looking ahead, she managed to bump into a familiar face, one she didn't care to see, but familiar nonetheless.
"Hae sangung"
"Greetings Your Highness" she looked directly into the eyes of the eighth prince. He didn't change much from when they were younger. You could see the stress in his face.
Ever since the 1st King's death, Hae Soo did all she could to avoid him, realizing quickly after the warning the late king himself gave became evident in someone she wouldn't suspect.
Plus, there was that underlying threat he gave saying she would become his person again one day. That brought up another thing. Why did every one assume she was 'their' person? Couldn't she just be her own person ? She didn't need that protection everyone was so eager to give.
Well maybe now she did from King Jeongjong, but it sure as hell wouldn't be from Wook.
Wook on the other hand mostly remembered the happy memories they shared from the accident Hae Soo had. Though he didn't want to admit it, his subconscious did say that he did her wrong by leading her on while his sick wife was alive. She was young and naive, and despite what those saw with the naked eye, he was a manipulative vindictive man.
Maybe if he had helped her that day instead of So, they would be together.
There was still an inkling of hope though, seeing that his brother was gone, she would need someone to lean onto. Sure there was Baek Ah, but he had no sort of power. With Yo in power, Wook was promoted into the highest consul giving him much more power than he ever had.
He knew if he played his cards right he could win her back.
Wook looked down in her hands, seeing the basket full of flowers his mind went back to when she would make those soaps. "I see you're getting ready for the incoming season." He gave her a closed off smile, hoping for some sort of interaction.
She returned his politeness with a curt smile. "Yes, I suppose so."
"Are you planning to make some for his majesty?" Though there was no bad intentions with his remark, she couldn't help but to have a bad taste in her mouth.
"No, and I'm more than sure you know why. His majesty wouldn't be as recipient to me giving him anything 'homemade', especially after the dilemma of the last king."
Soo just wanted him to admit his wrong doing, that it really wasn't her but him who poisoned Mu, not that Yo would do anything to take the crime away from her name, but at least it would somehow be out there that she didn't do it.
"I'm sure he would appreciate it, you just underestimate how merciful he could be."
"You would know wouldn't you?"
Though there was still a smile on his face, his eyes turned cold, just like that day.
With nothing left for her to say, she started to walk off, but by surprise he grabbed onto her wrist. Such a strong grip there may be a bruise.
She turned back to him, narrowing her eyes slightly wanting to pull her arm away, but she knew better.
"Did you ever really love me at all?" That wasn't what she expected to hear from him at all, she thought love would be the last thing on his mind.
Quietly clearing her throat, she looked him straight in the eye, not afraid of him. "Maybe at one time there was an admiration towards you and your love of learning and inquiry, but you know that all changed since that day."
"Can I ever win you back?"
"I don't think you really ever won me"
Giving a sharp pull, she got off of his grip, rushing to her room, ignoring his stare.
When she finally reached the privacy of her room, she rubbed her wrist harshly, trying to remove the redness and imprint of his hands on her. She knew she was late, no doubt, so she placed everything as quickly as possible, fixing her hit then headed to the kitchen to make the king some tea.
~~~
In the throne room, there was a harsh tapping coming from the slim fingers of the king. If there's one thing to know about him, he hated to wait for anything.
Those who knew him from a child knew his mother would give him his every whim and wish without a moment to waste. As he grew up he thought waiting was for those who were weak, having no power of their own to demand and receive.
That being said, he didn't like to wait, especially for his tea. He could only wonder what was taking her that long.
"Did you not tell Hae sangung to immediately come and prepare my tea?!" As he said each word his voice raised to an almost high pitch.
The head eunuch, now scared, ran in front of the king and bowed, "Have mercy, Pyeha! I told her and she was immediately going about your orders. I'm sure there's a good reason." Now he was known for not taking in account for other people's errors, but working with Hae sangung for years he knew she wasn't one to be idle, especially since Wang Yo came into power.
As if she heard his screams, which would not be surprising, Hae Soo quickly but steadily brought the tea the king was adamant for.
"EVERYONE OUT"
Within seconds, everyone left save the king and Hae Soo.
Out of protocol, she immediately bowed before him as she rested the server of tea.
"Forgive me, Pyeha, I have committed a grave sin."
He watched her with dark eyes, contemplating whether she was truly sorry or mocking him, the latter which would drive him mad.
"Tell me, Lady Hae, why were you so late in serving me my tea?"
Soo squirmed under his gaze, not sure of how to tell him about her encounter with Wook.
Without his permission, she got up, but remained in a respectable bow. "I was stopped by the eighth prince who had a question your majesty." His eyebrows furrowed together. He knew she wouldn't lie, but why would the eighth prince stop her?
"What did he stop you about?"
"Nothing too important for his majesty to worry about. It was trivial and I had notified him I needed to report to you."
Something about her statement made him feel proud inside. Maybe because he remembered at one time she would do anything to be around Wook, but now she knew better and would do anything to be around him; although it was only by his command.
Yo decided to dismiss the topic, ordering her to serve him tea. He would usually watch her make it, only because her intricate movements would calm him. Jeongjong didn't acknowledge it, but there were many things that she did which soothed him.
Soo wouldn't pay much mind to the King's stare as she made tea, knowing that it was the only time she wasn't under his scrutiny. What she didn't realize was that the red mark Wook left on her wrist was very much visible to the eye.
A hand jumped up and held her wrist, a much lighter grip than the previous one.
"What happened here?" Soo's eyes managed to get bigger at his interrogation, "N-nothing your majesty"
Now he was holding her wrist in a vice grip. "Don't lie to me. Did Wook do this?"
Though she didn't say anything, he knew the answer.
Fury was the only thing Yo felt at the thought of Wook touching what was his.
Not his in a romantic sense but rather the thing he could control and bend to his every whim. She was his toy whom he could use and bruise in any way he please, how dare another try to do the same?
"Don't ever let another man touch you, you hear? If any man is to touch you it is under my command or else there will be consequences." His grip gets harsh, as if he's trying to mask the previous mark Wook left. Soo stayed quiet, unsure of what exactly was happening.
She tried to stop her heart from beating fast, scared for what may happen to Wook now; yes the man did her wrong but to be punished for something dumb like this, she would pass.
Throwing her wrist down, he put his hands on his knees, as if he was trying to forget what had just happened. His mind started to wander into the possibility of Wook trying to win back Soo, maybe even attempt to use her to poison him like he did Mu. He knew better than to push Wook in a lower rank, understanding his importance, but he needed to somehow establish the idea that Soo will only do what he says alone.
After serving him his tea, Soo stayed in place, now having a wary look on her face. Somehow she managed to warrant his attention for the past few weeks much more than before. She would try to minimize the interactions as much as possible, but he kept on prying, as if getting to know her was part of his priority.
After having two more servings of tea, he dismissed her, getting ready to call someone else in to discuss matters of a district. Hae sangung walked out, the only thing on her mind was the mark the king left on her wrist.

“D-desculpa.” Ouviu a própria voz dizer. Fraca, falha, assustada.
Porém, sentiu o baque do corpo contra o piso duro e gelado.

Shine or Go Crazy
Year : 2015 | Country : KR | Nb of episodes: 24
My rate: 6/10
Synopsis :
Wang So was born a prince of Goryeo, but because a prophecy foretells that he will turn the country into a river of blood, he is exiled from the palace and shunned by the royal family. Having lost his place as the rightful heir to the throne, he lives an isolated life, and in Wang So's absence, his illegitimate half-brother Wang Uk makes an ambitious play for power.
Shin Yool is the last princess of Balhae, and she narrowly escaped death as a child at the hands of her own people because of a prophecy that she is fated to become "the light of another nation". She and Wang So have a whirlwind marriage, and as husband and wife, begin to grow closer and fall in love.
Main cast :
Jang Hyuk as Wang So (later King Gwangjong)
Oh Yeon-seo as Shin Yool / Gaebong
Lee Ha-nui as Hwangbo Yeo-won (later Queen Daemok)
Lim Ju-hwan as Wang Uk
Lee Deok-hwa as Wang Sik-ryeom
Ryu Seung-soo as King Jeongjong
Na Jong-chan as Se-won
My thoughts on this drama :
It took me a long time to decide on watching this one. Since I saw Moon Lovers, Wang So couldn't be portrayed by anyone other than Lee Joon KI… But I'd read some very good reviews about SoGC, so I finally gave it a try. I enjoyed it a lot! Jang Hyuk 's Wang So is so deeply different from Joon Ki's that it's easy not to compare the two while watching it. Even though the story takes place during the same period as Moon Lovers, the plot is completely different, making it a new expercience and a wonderful one at that.

6.6. Kings of Korea
Question 6: Conditions in the last years of the Joseon era › 6. Kings of Korea
Click here for table of contents
6.6. Kings of Korea
  There is the following description about the Korean kings on page 48 (Japanese version) of “Chapter 3, King – Royal family - Eunuchs in the court - Funerals of the king”, “Introduction” of The History of the Church of Korea, by a French writer in 1874.
[Like other countries of the Far East, Korea adopts an absolute monarchy. The king has the absolute right to arbitrarily use everything in the country and unlimited authority over not only humans but all things and systems. He holds the power of life and death over the ministers, members of the royal family and all the retainers. The king’s character is considered sacred and is covered with every possible dignity. All the firstlings of the season are solemnly dedicated to him. We could say that he receives godlike worship from everyone.]
  From the seventeenth century to the final years of the Joseon era, there were power struggles among the ruling factions. Korea saw a series of futile and bloody reprisals without political perspectives. However, the Korean kings, despite having unlimited authority, did nothing to stop the chain of useless reprisals and return the government to normal. Why? The answer is described as follows on pages 50-51 in “Introduction” of The History of the Church of Korea.
[According to the classic Confucian writings of China, the king should pay attention to the public interest of people and strictly supervise the observation of the law. He should reign fairly over all his retainers and protect people from illegal taxation by high-ranking officials. However, such kings are rare in Korea. In Korea, most of those on the throne have been lazy, corrupted, debauchees, prematurely senile or incompetent. An unfortunate prince who is guaranteed to ascend the throne at a young age is allowed to indulge in any kind of caprice. Without any advisor, he is tied to extremely comical protocol in the harem inside the courtyard from the age of 12 or 13. How can he become anything different? In addition, in Korea, as in other countries, wicked officials always exercise their authority. They try to keep the king away from politics and take advantage of his desires in order to seize control of politics under his name, rendering him spiritless.
  Therefore, it is rather rare for the king himself to conduct administration and supervise the senior officials.]
  In other words, the kings of Korea did not understand the necessity to stop the interminable factional disputes among the Yangbans. They were raised so that they would not have such intention or capacity. This was a well-built trap.
  The reality of the Joseon Dynasty in the 19th century is concretely described on page 461 of “Chapter 9. Latter period of the Joseon era” in Korean History I. Below is a quotation from a key part.
[In January 1804, when Queen Jeongsun finished governance in the name of the king, the political forces of the Gyeongju Kim clan and the Byuk faction organized around this clan rapidly weakened, and the Si faction, led by Kim Jo-sun, father of Queen Sunwon, started to gain power. When Queen Jeongsun died in January 1805, the Kim clan, which had led the Byuk faction, was ousted from the court and the Si faction achieved the complete monopoly of power.
[…]
However, Sedo politics in the last stage of the Joseon era was different from this. It referred to the form of politics adopted in a dictatorial way by the king’s favorite retainers or the vassals who were related to the king by marriage, using or neglecting the royal authority. Sedo politics started when King Jeongjo favorably treated Hong Guk-yeong, who had helped him ascend the throne, and entrusted him with the administration. Sedo politics continued in earnest throughout the reigns of Sunjong, Heonjong, Cheoljong and Gojong (in office between 1863 and 1907), constituting the political characteristics of the Joseon Dynasty in the 19th century. ]
  As shown in the description above, the kings only had nominal presence and the Sedo forces held real power. When Heonjong, the 24th king of the Joseon Dynasty, died at the age of only 23 in 1849, Queen Sunwon, who was the most aged in the royal family, immediately took control of all the affairs, and enthroned Cheoljong, who was 19 years old at that time, as the 25th king. He was the grandson of King Jeongjong, who was engaged in farming after being exiled to Ganghwa Island due to his involvement in a scandal. As he had not been trained to be king, Queen Sunwon held control of power instead. Then, the Andong Kim clan, which married a member to King Cheoljong, strengthened their forces and handled Sedo politics.
  People in Korea believed that the king had sacred character and paid as much homage as possible to him. In reality, however, according to the Frenchman Charles Dallet, the kings only had nominal power, and they were lazy, corrupted, debauchees, either too young or incompetent. We believe that it was quite unfortunate for Korean people that the Sedo forces took control of power and arbitrarily handled the affairs of state. Such politics continued from the latter part of the Joseon era to the fall of the Korean Empire.
  We could say that it was nothing but a real tragedy for the entire Korean people that the authority of the king, who held unlimited authority and the power of life and death over all his retainers, was believed to have sacred character, was covered with every possible dignity and received godlike worship, continued to be used for the interests of a small number of people in the ruling class.
   That was the reality of the “rule of Korea by Koreans” during the Joseon era.

Moon Lovers Anniversary Week ↳ Day 2: Your Favorite Parallel
In the drama, everyone speaks Ancient!Korean which is a bit different from what Modern!Korean sounds like. Among the differences, one that has never ceased to make me laugh is the fact that though the princes each have names that have beautiful Hanja meanings, to the average listener, the names sometimes sound a bit off. The best parallels come from the clashing of the same language... especially when an asshole like me is watching.
The surname Wang (王) means “king” in both modern and ancient Korean. However, colloquially, wang means “huge” or “super fucking big.”
Wang Mu 王武 Hanja Meaning: Defense/Weaponry Colloquial Meaning: Big Radish
Wang Yo 王堯 Hanja Meaning: (There’s no definition for the given character: “Yo”. Even in the dictionary, this asshole’s entry is written as “Goryeo’s 3rd Emperor: Jeongjong, Wang Yo.”) Colloquial Meaning: Futon
Wang So 王昭 Hanja Meaning: Bright Colloquial Meaning: Deadass Huge Af Cow
Wang Wook 王旭 Hanja Meaning: The sun that rises in the morning Colloquial Meaning: *gagging noises*
Wang Won 王垣 Hanja Meaning: Fence Colloquial Meaning: ₩ ₩ ₩ ₩ ₩ ₩ ₩ ₩ ₩ ₩  (Cash Money)
Wang Eun 王恩 (Real Name: Gwang Ju Won 廣州院 ) Hanja Meaning: Grace Colloquial Meaning: Silver
Wang Wook 王郁 - Baek Ah 伯牙 (Historically, Baek Ah’s name is Wang Wook. However, in the drama, he was nicknamed ‘Baek Ah’ by his brothers in order to differentiate between him and the older Wook.) Baek Ah Hanja Meaning: White Teeth, Great Man, White Bird (Much discrepancy, very wow.) Baek Ah Colloquial Meaning: (Only character with no modern meaning.) Wook Hanja Meaning: Vibrancy/Vitality Wook Colloquial Meaning: *gagging noises*
Wang Jung 王貞 Hanja Meaning: Straight and True Colloquial Meaning: Selfless Platonic Love

Note
I haven't moved on either TBH. Watching the King's love only made me think of SHR and by extension my original historical scifi series involving the Royal Wang family. OTL. I wrote a Criminal Minds/SHR crossover fic- the second chapter is still in the works. IDK if you'd be interested in reading it or not (or if you already have) but I could tag you in any/all fics if you're into AUs?? LOL that being said, I might end up doing a one shot on Yo and Rin... and now I blame you :P *teases*
P.S. would you be possibly willing to do a gif or graphic request thing for me? I suddenly have the mighty need for evil king Wang Yo (Jeongjong) and good Rin xD;;; dammit I think you ruined me ROFL.
I don't mind being tagged, though I'm not sure if I'll have time to read it or leave feedback, I'm sorry to say. :( I am horrendously behind on feedback for all the current MLSHR fic that has come out in the past few months, so I've been trying in vain to catch up there. A one-shot on Yo and Rin does have possibilities though, haha!
I'm horrible at graphics, but I would totally be happy to do a gifset of sorts with Jeongjong and good!Rin. Just send me any details you were thinking of (unless you just want me to go with that general concept lol) and I'll try to work it out. :)

“I don't like it when historical dramas play too much with literature liberty. Scarlet Heart Ryeo and Seven Day Queen put important historical figures Yo (Jeongjong) and Yeok (Joongjong) to "death," then make them kings as if that makes sense. if it was for a month, i could look the other way, but it was for YEARS. Realistically, there would be too much troubles making them kings. It's the same as putting ghosts on the throne. just take motive, then make fictional world like My Sassy Girl Joseon”

Snow White Chapter 28: Return to Her...
[Jung and Baek-Ah told Ju, Princesses, and Seol that Gwangjong doesn’t have much time. When they visit him, the king gave Jung a doctrine in which he accepted. With his last breath, Gwangjong sees Soo and passed away.]
Previously as Seol told her brothers to summon all the elders of Yoo clan, they were on their seats anxiously waiting for their eldest heiress to enter. It was unusual for her to call every member of Chungju clan assembled.
They heard the door opened, revealing Seol with her brothers and took their seats respectively. She was wearing a yellow, red, and white hanbok with her hair adorned with hairpin. She had already told Jung and others she didn’t need any escorts as she was fully prepared to see the true colors behind the Yoo clan’s mask.
“I have called you all for the important matter.” She spoke in grave tone from her youthful appearance.
The silence prompted her to continue.
“I’ve heard that you all requested his majesty to arrange the marriage between me and the crown prince.”
This caused everyone to flinch, averting their gaze. Seol frowned at their impudent, shameless behaviors but relieved her explanation had grabbed them around her fingers. Cheon Chu-Jeon glared at the elders, as if he was ready to cut anyone who would deny her “accusation”.
“I don’t really need your request, though,” Seol then smiled, “as much as everyone’s concerned about me, I did think of asking his majesty to let him court me.”
The families of Yoo looked at her, shocked and yet hopeful.
“I will not marry him for power. I will marry because I want to protect the ones I love. I want to protect all who had protected me. Our clan might have cut off the ties to our king and were once accused for the attempted treason but if you lend me and my people your hand, I could also protect you all.” Seol concluded with gentle smile. Her speech had managed to struck in their heart as they all glanced at one another, and nodded their head in unison.
After a long assembly set by Seol, she dismissed herself and went outside the palace. She stopped as she saw Ju and his sisters waiting for her. The heiress of Yoo waved her hand at them as she walked over. When she asked Jung to bring all member of Chungli household, Ju decided not to ask the reason as he did not want to press her further for his curiosity.
“How’s his majesty?” Seol asked.
Before anyone could answer, they heard Jung and Baek-Ah rushed towards them. Alarmed and grim, they looked at Seol.
“What’s going on?” Ju asked, demanding an answer.
Looking at one another, then glanced back at Seol they decided to speak up.
“There isn’t much time for his majesty…he want to bring you to his chamber immediately.” Baek-Ah explained, sympathy and sadness filled in his eyes. Jung didn’t said anything as his hands were on his back, hiding the scroll that was bestowed by the king.
With a heavy thud in her chest, she followed with Ju who was worried for her well-being as the king aged even more. When they arrived, the door opened for them and they entered. Choi Ji-Mong was beside the king’s bed and greeted both the Crown Prince and Seol, bowed. He moved to the side, revealing the aged, fatally sickened king Gwangjong lying on his bed sleeping.
“Your majesty, Lady Seol’s came.”
Hearing the astronomer’s words, the king slowly opened his eyes and searched for his daughter. Ji-Mong excused himself as he slowly walked out the door, leaving the three. Seol eyes were saddened at her father’s waning health for she had seen him sleep-talking several nights ago, or had a brief hallucination of mistaking Seol as her mother Hae Soo, believing she had come for her person, Wang So.
Now in this condition, the king also had respiratory disease preventing him from speaking. Closing her eyes, she could feel Ju’s hand grabbed her’s, in an attempt to comfort her. She smiled at him and stared at the king.
“Father…,” she sniffed, “do you want to go to mother?”
Her question had made her father glanced at her. With several second passed, he slowly nodded his head, remorse filled in his heart he have to leave his daughter alone in this cruel place, leaving her to defend herself.
“Do not worry. I can protect myself. I’m strong woman now,” Seol tried to assure him, “so…you could go to her. She’s waiting…”
This time, Ju came beside her as his hand kept holding her’s tightly.
“I will not ask for your permission, but I want your permission…to let me stay beside and protect her.”
Gwangjong glanced at the young man. He could still remember their last confrontation after Seol spared for Ju’s life, the same words he had spoke.
The Crown Prince Wang Ju, stood in the throne room glaring.
“You…have you come back to ask for Seol again?” Gwangjong growled, almost in distaste at his oldest son’s presence.
“I didn’t come to ask for her again…even if you still don’t, it won’t change how I feel about her,” Ju replied, frowning, “I know why you refused to let me marry to your daughter…”
His statements caused the king nearly dropped his scroll, eyes were slightly wide. ‘He knew?’ Gwangjong thought. He bit his lips as Ju kept glancing at the king with inquiring look. Ju’s eyes resembled his, but his face structures resembled his brother and previous king, Jeongjong, Wang Yo. When Ju smiled, it reminded of that wench, deceased Queen Daemok, whose family had were the cause of his person’s death. Hissed in anger, the king glared daggers at this sorry excuse of his son, the crown prince.
“So?”
Ju waited for the king to continue, his face remained unreadable.
“When I see you, it reminds me how I failed to protect everyone I loved and cared the most. Your face, your mother’s wretched face…reminds me of my pathetic loss,” Gwangjong spoke coldly, “You are my shame, disgrace…and flaw. That’s why I refused to let you have Seol.”
Crown prince bit his lips, side of his mouth twitching at the king’s cruel words.
“Your family may have took her mother away from me….and now…you are tainting her with a blood of treacherous family! I will not tolerate the same cruel fate that will break my daughter.”
Enough with his obnoxious condemnation of his family for Seol’s mother’s death, Ju decided it was worth of his life to confront.
“The one who broke Lady Hae Soo is you!”
Ju’s cold outburst caused the king to stare at him.
“Your hatred…your obsession with revenge killed her mother. You claim to understand her wish for the end of bloodshed for the throne, but no…you don’t…perhaps you were not listening to her because you were blind with vengeance…if you truly cared for your person you should know she doesn’t want any grudge or revenge.”
Ju’s every word struck inside the king’s heart for he couldn’t find anything to retort. Because he was right. Gwangjong’s obsession for his person, Soo, and for the revenge were the ones that killed her. The king’s fist trembled but he didn’t say anything. Ju sneered humorlessly, then laughed in a slightly dark and hysterical tone. Tear escaped from the young prince’s eyes.
“You are very greedy…selfish even…,” Ju laugh in unrestrained resentment, “as so am I…we do have a common traits after all.”
Ju sighed heavily, forming a composed expression.
“But I am here to ask one thing…despite my powerless, and petty existence, let me protect Seol. I do not care whether we were not allowed to be married…I only want to protect and help her survive whatever that will harm her.”
With a stiff bow, the crown prince left the court leaving the king alone on his throne.
And here now, Ju grabbed his daughter’s right hand protectively as if she was about to collapse. Watching his son standing beside Seol, king’s wrinkled, pale hand grabbed his oldest son’s hand. Gripping with firm, but there was no force. Flinched, Ju’s looked down at his right hand where the king’s hand grabbed. He looked at Gwangjong, who formed a barely small smile. His pupil shaken for a brief moment but he smiled back. He then grabbed the king’s hand and let it grasped on Seol’s right hand. The king’s expression grew softened then.
His eyes grew blur as many memories flashed in his mind. He could see Eun and Jung laugh, chasing one another as other brothers smiled. He could see the princes watching Soo singing during the tenth prince’s birthday. The last thing he could remember was his person Hae Soo, walked around the lake Dongji. Her pale blue hanbok adorned her as the hairpin—in which he gave it to her—pinning on her hair. She fiddled her fingers together in anxiety but as she saw So, she waved her hand as if asking him to come forth as a beautiful smile formed on her face.
Wang So, formed a peaceful smile as his eyes were closing. His hand reached for Seol’s face.
“…Soo-ya…”
As his fingers touched his daughter’s cheek, it heavily fell to his side with a thud.
Ju only stared at the king’s closed eyes and a peaceful smile formed on his aged, wrinkled face. His mouth were closed, after his one last breath. The crown prince exhaled heavily as Seol’s eyes finally let the tears escape and her hands covered her mouth, preventing herself from crying. The two didn’t realized Baek-Ah and Jung was behind them until the general held the king’s pale cloak. Blinking his tears back, Jung covered the king’s eternally asleep physique with the fabric.
Ju quickly held Seol before she could collapse on the floor. She silently wailed, her hands kept covering her mouth. His arms were protectively surrounded her. He could still feel his right hand where the king finally grabbed for his father never hold them until his last breath.
The crown prince now knew that both Seol and himself had lost their father. But he was more concerned with her. She never get to see her mother and now…she let her father leave the world. Forgetting the tears from his eyes, Wang Ju was determined to use all of his strength to protect and help her fight through whatever the horrid fate will lurking out for her.
Note: Oh god…the death of Gwangjong, Wang So. I was listening to Moon Lovers OST “Will Be Back” sung by Im Sun-Hae while writing about So’s death. Comment~! But please do not blame me…
