id be lying if i said i wasnt at least a tiny bit excited for the phineas and ferb revive LMAO so i decided to redraw a piece i did way back in 2014 o/

im still super proud of how the original came out, but i can definitely see my improvements since then lol

feels good to draw these guys again! Phineas and Ferb means so much to me, not only did i meet my closet friend through this show, but i truly believe my art wouldnt be what it is today

Because The Beak is alive in my brain, have some more thoughts on Isabella crushing on the titular superhero.

So upon reflection, I don't think it's just Isabella falling for someone because Phineas isn't there anymore. I think part of it might also be because The Beak is more like the idealised Phineas she has in her mind. Not only evoking a more conventionally attractive male physique mind you (look, Stacy said it, not me, lol), but someone who is chivalrous and heroic, but especially in the sense that he always seems to be there when Isabella needs him, which is something she finds missing in the interactions she desires with him.

But then it gets weird, because of the fact that it IS ultimately Phineas (as well as Ferb of course, but Phineas is the "face" of The Beak). Not just the irony of it being him, but in a roundabout way... it IS what Isabella loves in Phineas. Always doing something extraordinary to make everyone's day better, and using his talents to help others. Isabella might be hung up on wanting Phineas to be more conventionally romantic because that's what she expects, but Phineas with Ferb are doing things their way still. As we see in Summer Belongs to You, Isabella DOES ultimately love Phineas for who he really is, even if she needs to accept that for herself.

And the best part? Because The Beak is always there for her, Phineas is too, even if she doesn't realise it until the end. Just as it always is, Phineas is showing how much he cares about Isabella in his own way. Granted, this time he's kind of forced to by circumstance, but Phineas is still there doing this. He does show affection and care to Isabella, he just does it in his own unique Phineas way.

So basically, what I'm saying is... Isabella's Beak crush is down to The Beak being both like the idealised version of Phineas she has in her mind, while also probably recognising subconsciously that this IS what Phineas would be doing, she's just too upset at him letting her down to put it together. It's a surprisingly apt representation of their dynamic and relationship.
