¿Usas Inteligencia Artificial en tu día a día?

Es probable que sí, pero seguramente no has sido consciente de los procesos internos de las interfaces digitales. 

Pero… ¿Qué es una Inteligencia Artificial? ¿Para qué sirven?

Según la RAE, una IA  es una disciplina científica que se ocupa de crear programas informáticos que ejecutan operaciones comparables a las que realiza la mente humana, como el aprendizaje o el razonamiento lógico.

Una IA  puede crear recomendaciones personalizadas como cuando terminas de ver una película en una plataforma de streaming y esta te recomienda otra que probablemente también te gustará.

O cuando entras a un sitio web y buscas información inmediata y le preguntas a un Chatbot, entonces una IA te entregará posibilidades intentando solucionar tu problema.

Quieres tomar una fotografía pero le pides el teléfono a tu amigo porque toma mejores fotos, probablemente el teléfono de tu amigo usa una IA para mejorar la calidad de las fotografías rellenando la falta de información con píxeles para que esta se vea como una fotografía tomada con cámara semi o profesional.

La idea de IA nace en los años 40 y a partir del 2000 su uso ha avanzado significativamente. En 2022 el término se masificó de tal forma que la combinación de palabras "Inteligencia Artificial" fue la más usada en los medios de comunicación y el término más relevante para el debate social.

Una IA se puede entrenar con información de la web para mejorar su rendimiento, esto se hace mediante el uso de técnicas de aprendizaje automático que puede incluir texto, imágenes, audios y videos extraídos de diversas fuentes. 

Las inteligencias artificiales funcionan como una red neuronal, las que aprenden de información ya existente y esto es lo que hoy genera tanta controversia con respecto a los derechos de autor. 

Pero, ¿Por qué la industria creativa tiene tanto miedo del uso de la Inteligencia artificial? ¿Crees que una IA pueda reemplazar a una persona en el mundo laboral? y si la reemplaza ¿Crees que las personas sean capaces de reinventarse y usar la IA a su beneficio?

okay these are workflow notes that i made for myself! they are about making podfic

record the thing. try to do it in one go somewhere that has consistent background noise, or break it up naturally—if breaking it up as chapters, drop in a label track & mark them out. leave ten or so seconds of contiguous silence in there. remember to put the pop filter on!

immediately export completed audacity recording **pre-editing** as a flac or whatever & dump it in some kind of labeled folder on the external hard drive ("[short title] raw")

normalize to max -1 or so. noise reduction using silence sample, then apply to whole recording. if you have individual tracks in one project for some reason normalize & reduce noise separately, then combine.

sync-lock the label track

edit that sucker! correct flubs/make a final decision on multiple line reads, silence or trim out loud breathing/background sounds/weird mouth noises where possible, check for timing, adjust volume. 3 seconds of full silence at section breaks & before new chapters. save at each section break or interruption in work or suffer disappointment

export a flac when you're done ("[short title] edit")

add in sound effects or music if you're doing that, being careful to match volume; remember sync-lock & track muting. retain credit info. also this is when you should make cover art

last-pass stuff (must be done on windows to use my beloved fish fillet plugins, whose retro interface is so charming): use envelope tool if that seems appropriate after primary editing -> de-ess using spitfish (remember to toggle 'listening' off before applying) -> compress using blockfish (quick speed, high volume, low saturation). listen through a couple different chunks of audio before applying to the whole piece, because it's slow as hell.

save, export flac/s ("[full fic title as it ought to appear in metadata]") & mp3/s. archive flac/s on external hard drive.

for smaller mp3s, update ID3 to include cover art using itunes or puddletag or whatever, upload to gdrive/mega & IA (also upload cover art), update metadata as needed, proceed to ao3 post.

[do on desktop, not laptop] for larger/multipart works, chunk out mp3s as appropriate & chapter-by-chapter (we love options! we love audacity Shift+Ctrl+L!). also export chapter-by-chapter flacs with detailed metadata ("Chapter # ChTitle"), rename files fictitle1.flac etc., save into a folder together with cover art, then break out m4b-tools in terminal. command structure: m4b-tool merge -vv --jobs=6 --audio-format=m4b --audio-bitrate=96k --audio-codec=libfdk_aac --audio-channels=2 "INPUTFILEDIRECTORY" --output-file="DESKTOP/FICNAME.m4b"

upload m4b plus maybe a zipped version to gdrive/mega/IA, editing metadata as needed. time to Post

for ao3: lazily copy html from one of your other fics, remember to apply private workskin Podfic1 to work, then update all the links to go where they're actually supposed to, add notes as desired/appropriate & invite polite criticism, preview & fix errors, post!

edit file names as needed, look through remaining project files & move to HDD or delete. do not keep that huge .aup on your internal drive you will not need it

m4b-tools works great but it took me so much trial & error to figure out the command structure that works for what i wanted to do, & i couldn't initially get it to install because one of its dependencies is archived code & so not available as a package, & i couldn't figure out how to make it work with the actually live fork of mp4v2. so thank you to my beautiful girlfriend for figuring that one out. i found very little guidance online about how to make an m4b with user-friendly FOSS options (like sure okay there's someone on the archlinux forum who thinks we should all just use ffmpeg! okay dude maybe we should but i'm stupid!); there may be better ways to do this than the one i chose but i'm happy with the result.

D&F: Here is the first out of the three fics made! Hope you all enjoy it!

Lily: Sorry for taking so long to post! We've been busy as of late, but we're still making stuff! Don't worry!

The glamrocks are preparing to go out to do their performance, and as always the lead singer is the earliest one to be ready. Freddy let’s out a sigh. This week had been more hectic than usual. So many birthdays and parties had been booked almost back to back that break times were barely possible. Irritation is at an all time high, and it’s starting to show. Arguments are happening more often, a few fights occurred in the utility tunnels, and everyone just feel incredibly exhausted. Even the other animatronics are feeling it.

“Chica don’t eat that! You're going on stage!”

The robotic bear’s finger started twitching.

He can already feel the invisible pressure growing in his head, making him subconsciously rub the side of his head. The overworking of the CPU as it tries to manage tasks that seems to fail, due to so many things going wrong somehow. The rise of panic that builds the longer things continue getting worse. To animatronics, it's a warning sign of a potential overload, but to humans it's known as stress.

Stress that can easily cause glitching to trigger in Freddy if he isn't careful. Checking his interface, he notice an unread message:

The orange glamrock couldn’t help but smile as he reads it. He and DJ don’t always get to do their date nights regularly. Not just because of how long it took for their dates to get set up, but also due to their busy schedules.

The glamrocks are the ones that the guests come for, their performance brings the megaplex income outside of the attractions and shops. As a result, whenever the pizzaplex receives a busy week, the robotic bear usually ends up far too preoccupied to spend time with the giant animatronic.

Which is where the messages come in.

They were DJ's idea, sending these words of encouragement before the performance. Every time the lead singer would read these messages, and he would always send a short response back thanking the robotic spider.

The bear animatronic's smile fades as he hears the commotion increase. Monty's aggression have spiked thanks to growing tension. Not enough to do actual harm, but the bassist had already broken a list of things over the course of the week. Roxy's obsession with her looks have also gotten worse. As much as wolf animatronic refuse to admit, the stress was getting to her that even a strand of hair being out of place will set her off.

Sadly, the two glamrocks are clashing with one another. Probably due to the keytarist's constant use of hair spray before she steps onto the stage piece. Some of the employees are trying to de-esculate the situation to the best of their abilities. As for Chica, she is trying take back the small food from the human worker. While the guitarist finds any opportunity to eat, getting worked up like this makes it worse. She would need to stay calm, and eating fulfills that need. Unfortunately, it can also cause her to experience performance problems with the devoured food clogging up her insides.

Freddy's eye twitches. Too much yelling…not enough time to take a step back…so much stress. He can feel his body going stiff. The robotic bear's notification alerts him of a new message and checks it.

[ Try this before you head on stage 😉👍. ]

Along with it is an attachment. Curious, the glamrock leader opens it. What enters his audios is the gentle notes of music. It takes the bear animatronic by surprise, then a warm smile forms. He allows the soothing string of song to flow, brushing away the rising stress. The chaos around him had been silenced…time feels like it is slowing to a halt. The robotic bear closes his his eyes as his form relaxes. It's as if DJ is right here, singing this beautiful melody to him.

Freddy can envision that wonderful grin on the disc jockey's face, the loving gaze trained on him while spinning the tender pieces of harmony. Every note constructed from the animatronic spider's voice, is like his own touch caressing the lead singer's cheek. Everything is so serene, and not a single care in the world could break it.

As the song quietly ends, Freddy calmly opens his eyes. His band mates are stationed on the lift, annoyed but less frustrated. As it raises, the animatronic bear states.

“We can have a sleepover tonight.”

The group turn to him in shock. Mostly because he isn't one to suggest things that would clearly break night protocol. However after today, security will be lax and the staff isn't going to be hung up on anything minor for a while. Plus…his friends need something to enjoy themselves, so doing the one thing they all had expressed great interest in seems like a good idea. “In my room.” adds the robotic bear. All the irritation evaporated from the other glamrocks as excitement took over.

Freddy quickly sends a reply to DJ before the group arrive on stage.

C’est mon frère qui me fait découvrir trois de ses singles, forever, the stage et religion (u can lay your hands on me) à l’occasion de la sortie de son nouvel album forevher en août 2019. J’aime beaucoup ces trois singles et je les ajoute directement à ma playlist, mais je ne m’y attarde pas plus.

Deux ans plus tard, en mars 2021, Shura sort une édition Deluxe de son deuxième album forevher. C’est à ce moment-là que je m’intéresse réellement à cette artiste. J’ai écouté pendant une longue période son album en boucle et à chaque écoute, j’ai ressenti les mêmes émotions. BKLYNLDN et t-shirt me font instantanément pleurer, sans vraiment comprendre pourquoi, tandis que side effects et the stage me font me sentir heureuse et m’apaisent. Shura dévoile sa relation avec sa femme tout au long de l’album en abordant différentes étapes de celle-ci et différents sentiments. Elle a une manière totalement différente d’aborder les relations amoureuses de ce que j’ai pu entendre et voir jusqu'à maintenant qui ne me touche pas forcément. La perception des relations amoureuses d’une manière très mielleuse dans les séries et les films, ou des ballades romantiques musicales ne sont pas des choses qui me font voyager émotionnellement. Ici, tout se coordonne parfaitement, sa voix, les instruments acoustiques ainsi que les sons plus électroniques, les mélodies : tout est là pour mettre en valeur cette relation lesbienne.

J’ai ensuite écouté son premier album, Nothing’s Real sorti en 2016, en éprouvant le même vécu, me transportant également dans une autre dimension. J’ai tellement écouté ces deux albums que je connais le déroulement de chacun par cœur, en passant par les interludes et les morceaux qui incluent des enregistrements audio comme tommy dans l’album forevher ou encore les interludes (i) et (ii) dans Nothing’s Real.

Shura ne se contente pas de m’émouvoir par l’ouïe et le fait également par la vue. Le visuel autour de l’album forevher m’avait déjà beaucoup marquée. Une photographie de deux femmes s’enlaçant, cadrée principalement sur leur visage tout de même caché. Un traitement de l’image uniquement en monochromie, d’un bleu à la fois électrique et apaisant. Cette pochette d’album m’a déjà transportée avant même d’apprécier la musique, m’emmenant dans un sentiment de nostalgie, de mélancolie, mais également de joie et de sécurité. Pour donner une dimension matérielle à ces visuels, j’ai acheté quelques éléments de son merchandising, notamment un tee-shirt tout droit sortie du morceau t-shirt, une impression signée de la photographie de forevher qui trône fièrement sur un des murs de mon studio ainsi que le vinyle de ce même album. L’acquisition de ce vinyle me permet d’enrichir l’expérience sensationnel que m’offre Shura. Ce support de diffusion porte déjà un bagage spécifique, il emporte avec lui son atmosphère si particulière, sa sonorité moins lisse que celle d’un CD ou d’un fichier MP4. La pochette de vinyle permet d’y intégrer plus d’iconographie que ce que mon interface Spotify permet. Je contemple à chaque fois la pochette de vinyle de forevher qui reprend ce bleu si particulier. Le vinyle est lui aussi fait de ce même bleu et c’est avec beaucoup de précaution que je le manipule pour l’installer sur ma platine, faisant intervenir un troisième sens : le toucher. Cela en devient presque un rituel, prendre la pochette, l’admirer, sortir le vinyle et le mettre en route pour écouter ces chansons que je connais par cœur. .

J’ai une fois partagé mon rituel autour de l’album forevher à mes parents qui ne l’ont pas reçu comme moi. Ils ont trouvé les musiques trop planantes et mélancoliques. Leurs mots m’ont un peu touchée, comme s’ils s’attaquaient à une partie de moi et qu’ils remettaient en cause les émotions que je ressentais. Je n’ai depuis cette fois là plus osé leur faire écouter ces musiques. Pourtant, dès que j’ai l’occasion de parler de Shura à mes proches, je le fais. J’ai eu le plaisir de la faire découvrir à mes ami.es les plus proches qui l’ont reçu bien plus positivement que mes parents.

J’aimerais vous expliquer en détail les émotions que me font ressentir l’écoute des chansons de Shura, mais cela reste presque indescriptible. Elle est l’une des rares artistes, si ce n’est la seule, vers qui je me retourne quand je ne sais plus quoi écouter. Je l’écoute quand je suis heureuse, quand je suis triste, quand j’ai besoin d’être mélancolique, d’être nostalgique. Elle est ma safe place et le sera toujours, je me sens chez moi en l’écoutant.
