TV Review: Partner Track

So I had fully intended to post a review of Partner Track before now, however, the first season launched in full on Netflix on the 26th August, for reasons I’d rather not elaborate on, August is a very hard month for me, and I had taken some well deserved time away from the site. So I had earmarked the review to go up in November, as part of my own little NaNoWriMo challenge to post at least one piece of content each day for all of November, as a way of coming back from my hiatus with both guns blazing. 

Unfortunately when I was putting the finishing touches on the post this morning, I discovered that Partner Track has been cancelled. As you’ll probably see in the review following this introductory paragraph, I think this was a huge mistake, and I hope that some vocal and visible fan support can bring it back…much like what happened with Lucifer. I urge all fans of Partner Track to post across all social media with the hashtags #SavePartnerTrack and #UncancelPartnerTrack so that hopefully we can save the show.

So hang on, who managed to surpress all marina's memories of being Garou?

As of right now Marina does not know nor has she had the memories to figure out yet. I feel like the only person that would know is her estrange husband. She has questions for him but has been told by her coterie to not engage him in any manner. That has been eating at her since he also did something to their great-granddaughter, Tiana. She wants answers.

Meta game though, we were told it was someone powerful in the Camarilla that wanted an abomination under their thumb and likely due to her being some experiment Pentex made somehow. I recently was told her family was under a research project in Pentex called Project: Hellhound and was under the biological and chemical wing of Pentex…who is currently ran by Ingrid’s mother. She is a scary and horrible person mind you.

My guess are it’s the Prince that did this, her old sire who is dead or Shreiff Yung who has been a connection our coterie has had in the Camarilla and had Marina working under her before she met everyone.

i was here! i feel alive! i am awake!

today i volunteered in operation smile's fundraising event swing for smiles in tagaytay highlands and i'm sooo happy :--)))

first, it's my first event with opsmile and knew no one! as in, except for ms. carol who i've been talking to online and ms. roselle who's been coordinating for my sundo!

speaking of sundo, super props to kuya bry and kuya manny huhu aside from picking me up ng 3:30 am (im their only passenger lmao kabado pa ako makipaginteract haha), they also kept me company whenever i sit alone during slow hours, making jokes and kwento! i love u po see u po sa next mission, pasundo uli ako ha hahaha picturan ko kayo sa lahat ng tonton gutierrez at derek ramsey at pba player na gusto niyo, i gotchu my kuys!

also, to ms. roselle, u deserve a separate paragraph too because we chatted a lot whenever i'm also sitting apart from the ~young groups~ and all the leni and med and osp talks! thank you!! super sad you had to leave early but i'll make sure we'll be able to meet again! isabela maybe? :--))

to steph (and also raph) but mostly steph ahahaha, my lasalle taft osp girl,,, thank you too for always keeping me company and i just feel so grateful to be able to meet you and hear your cancer survival story! hahaha we became closer when she invited me to go to the airconditioNED RESTROOM and then we just chatted there for a while cos its colder than outside. we even worked on that company logo activity of yours we're so funny hahaha golf pa more ! see u in cavite opsmile mission pls? :-)) pati cebu??? ahahha pero bat ka 88m

lastly, (actually there are mooore i'd love to remember like dr. rory, dr. chel the tshirt woman hahaha, dr. ingrid and more!) but special mention si ms alma, i love u so much maam, ily ily ily, pls we just waited together in silence for ms carol as she loads the printer to her car but then we became closer when we sat together during lunch and when we moved inside the function hall and sat in the center front table (LMAO volunteers sitting in moshpit luv dat for us), we're like a mom and a daughter tandem na hahaha i also picked up some lessons on how to be more cheesy to mama hehehe thank you po for taking good care of me as well!! i feel comfortable also when we talked about leni and your ice cream cravings

thank you Lord! i get to experience: 1) volunteering with a group of strangers who are just super nice; 2) i get to enter and see a super duper pretty place like highlands; 3) and because of that i just appreciated our simple living more and realized how vast the gap is for privilege and social inequality; 4) my desire to learn playing golf and make it my hobby LMAO; and 5) most importantly, my desire to bring mama there and other fancy places so she could also experience them. hay gusto ko talaga maranasan rin ni mama yung mga napupuntahan ko!! im excited let's start little by little shall we

I was in high school when I realized that I am falling in love with my best friend. Sino ba naman ang hindi magkakagusto sa isang lalaking mabait ngunit mapang-asar, magalang ngunit may pagka-pilosopo, hindi 'man katalinuhan ay may alam naman ito. At bukod sa lahat, gwapo kasi s'ya at matangkad.

I knew to myself that I am in love with him, but I chose to not to confess about it. Baka kasi pag-tawanan n'ya lang ako kapag nalaman n'ya. At isa pa, may usapan kaming dalawa na hindi kami pwede magkagusto sa isa't isa.

"So, hindi mo talaga sinabi sa kaniya ang nararamdaman mo? Hindi mo ipinaalam?" Tanong ng bago kong kaibigan, si Ingrid.

By the way, my name is Lily Jane Martell. And I am 23 years old. Currently working as a home-based photographer. Ingrid Natalia De Armas, same age with me, she's a month younger than me. And she's a secondary teacher major in English.

Tumango naman ako t'saka nilagok ang baso ng alak doon sa aming lamesa. "Girl, what happened ba kasi? You never told me everything e, how'd you met this guy ba kasi?" Hindi pa s'ya lasing, hindi gaya ko, Ingrid was just tipsy.

"He's my best friend." Matitinigan mo na ang pagkalasing sa aking boses. Gulat naman na napatakip pa sa bibig si Ingrid habang nakatitig sa'kin.

Tumango-tango naman ako sa kanya t'saka ulit nag-salin nang alak doon sa aking baso. "Magkaklase kami noong nasa kindergarten, we weren't seatmates pero sa'kin s'ya tumabi." May pait ang ngiti na kwento ko kay Ingrid t'saka sumimsim sa baso ng alak.

Hindi sumagot si Ingrid kaya naman nagpatuloy ako. "Naaalala ko pa noon, pinapalipat s'ya ng teacher namin that time kung saan talaga s'ya dapat umupo, pero ayaw n'ya. Pinatawag na ang parents n'ya para sila ang makipag-usap dito, pero ayaw niyang talaga." Natatawa ko pa na sabi at umiling-iling nang maalala ang pangyayari na iyon.

"What's his name again? Nasabi mo na dati yung name n'ya but I forgot." Ani Ingrid t'saka nilagok ang alak sa kanyang baso. I smiled at her and drink a glass of liquor again then I said, "Aidan Hal. Aidan Hal Evans."

Nag-salin nang alak sa aming baso si Ingrid at sinabing, "pangalan pa nga lang ay gwapo na." T'saka n'ya isinenyas na ipagpatiloy ko ang pagkukwento.

I nodded as am smiling at her, agreeing to the fact that Aidan was gwapo. "True! Pero mas gwapo s'ya kaysa pangalan n'ya." Aniko t'saka kami sabay na tumawa at nag-apir pa!

"Tahimik lang akong bata, but every time I don't see my Lola or her shadow outside our classroom, umiiyak talaga ako. Inaasar ako ni Aidan na 'iyakin! Iyakin!' o 'di kaya ay 'crybaby', doon kami naging close." I was chuckling as I say those words to Ingrid.

Nag-kampay pa kami at uminom nang alak, "naku! Sa asaran naman pala! O, tapos?" Nanunuksong wika ni Ingrid t'saka muling nag-salin nang alak sa baso.

"Ayun nga, sa edad pa lang kasi namin na yun ni Aidan, malakas siyang mang-asar. But he's mabait naman, sadyang mapang-asar lang." Kwento ko t'saka tumikim nang snack, "my preschool wasn't bored kasi I am with him. Kapag nag-aaway kami, inaasar n'ya lang ako tulad ng mga pang-asar n'ya sa'kin noong una. Paano ay hanggang grade 2 umiiyak ako sa tuwing hindi ko nakikita si Lola." Natatawa ko na namang kwento t'saka uminom nang alak.

"Kumusta naman s'ya? Nakukwento mo sa'kin yung lalaking gusto mo but I haven't get a chance to meet him." A disappointment in Ingrid's voice.

"He's far away from here kasi kaya you haven't seen him pa. I hope he is okay, he probably is." Mapait na aniko at sunod-sunod na lumagok nang alak.

"Hey, slow down, sweetie. Take it easy, Lj." Dinig ko na ani Ingrid. Pero hindi ko s'ya pinakinggan. Sa tuwing wala nang laman na alak ang aking baso, dinadampot ko ang bote t'saka sasalinan iyon ng panibago.

I just stopped when I felt my eyes get teary-eyed. "Lj, tama na. You're drunk." Sabi sa'kin ni Ingrid at kinuha sa kamay ko ang aking baso upang ilayo iyon.

I faced her, crying, I chuckles when I remember Aidan teasing me that I'm a crybaby. Umiling ako t'saka pinahiran ang mata gamit ang likod ng aking palad, pero may pumapatak pa rin na mga luha mula doon.

"Ayos ka lang? Bakit ba umiiyak ka na naman? Alam mo, sa tuwing kumakain-inom tayo, umiiyak ka na lang lagi." Tipsy na sabi ni Ingrid. I hugged her and said, "I miss him. I miss him, Ingrid. Miss ko na si Aidan."

She hugged me back and tapped my back softly, "why don't you call him? Or hindi kaya'y puntahan mo s'ya? For sure he misses you too." Said she. But I shake my head as I am crying, nothing to say but to cry like a baby.

Hanggang sa kinabukasan, hindi ko alam kung paano akong nakauwi sa bahay ko. Iba na ang suot ko at hindi na iyon tulad sa kagabi kong suot, nakapang-tulog ako ngayon.

Sinasabunutan ang sarili kong nakahiga sa kama dahil sa sakit ng ulo, unti-unting bumalik sa isipan ko ang mga nangyari kagabi. Ayun, hindi ko na naman napigilan ang damdamin ko't umiiyak na naman hanggang sa makatulugan ko ulit iyon.

Nagising na lang ako ulit nang mag-ingay ang aking selpon, may tumatawag. Masakit ang ulo kong tiningnan iyon at dinampot, ngunit hindi pa rin sinagot ang tawag. Saglit pang nawala ang tawag ngunit agad rin bumalik, doon ay sinagot ko na ang tawag, si Ingrid.

"O, kumusta?" Tanong n'ya mula sa kabilang linya.

"Masakit ulo ko, mamaya ka na tumawag, Ingrid Natalia." Inaantok ko pa na sabi, nakatagilid mula sa bintana, yakap ang isang unan at nakapikit pa ang mga mata, habang ang selpon ay nakapatong sa aking tenga.

"Miss De Armas, hindi ka pa ba uuwi?" Dinig ko sa linya ni Ingrid, probably one of her co-teachers. "Pauwi na rin ako, Miss Fajardo. O, girl. Bumangon ka na d'yan, pupunta yung cousins ko sa bahay mo para magpakuha ng litrato." Baling naman ni Ingrid sa'kin mula sa kabilang linya.

"Tell to your cousins na we're close." Umiinit na ang ulo na aniko, dahil nahihilo talaga ako. "Girl, I can't. I already told them na you're there." Sabi naman ni Ingrid.

"Ingrid naman e." Naaasar na aniko and she said, "I know. I know you're still in your hangover." I didn't talk that's why she continued, "sige na, hmm? I'll bring you your favorite hangover drink tapos shopping tayo after, ano?" she added.

Wala akong nagawa kundi ang bumangon mula sa pagkakahiga. Nag-usap pa kami ni Ingrid saglit bago niya ibaba ang linya dahil maghahanap pa s'ya kung saan n'ya mabibili yung hangover drink na gusto ko.

Kahit nahihilo at masakit ang ulo ay kumilos ako upang maligo, naibsan naman ang sakit at hilo matapos kong maligo. Nagbihis ako ng simple lang na kasuotan.

Pinaresan ko ng kulay puti na line and dot turtleneck ang kulay itim ko na topshop pants, kulay dilaw naman na chuck taylor ang sapin ko sa paa. Ang buhok ay naka-ipit nang low messy bun at hindi kakapalan ang lens ng eyeglasses sa mata.

Naabutan ko ang kapatid kong si Erin sa studio na nag-aayos ng mga kakailanganin na gamit, dito lang rin sa loob ng bahay ko. Katapat ng kitchen at dining room.

Erin Samantha Martell, she's three years younger than me, and she is the youngest among the three siblings. And I am the middle. Ewan ko ba dito kay Erin, she is free to find her own job naman pero mas gusto n'ya akong tinutulungan dito sa studio.

"O, Ate Lj. Buti naman at nakapag-ayos ka na? Taob ka na naman na umuwi kagabi, mabuti na lang at hindi dumalaw si Kuya dito. Tumawag si Ate Ingrid, ang sabi n'ya ay pupunta rito ang mga pinsan n'ya para sa litrato. May makakain doon sa kusina, Ate Lj. Gusto mo ipagsandok kita?" Mahabang sabi ni Erin.

Umiling ako at pilit ang ngiti na ibinalik sa kanya, "hindi na. Ako na. Tawagin mo na lang ako kapag nandyan na mga pinsan ni Ingrid." Sabi ko t'saka nagtungo sa kusina upang kumain, narinig ko na umoo si Erin.

Napabuntong-hininga ako nang makita ang pagkain na nandon sa lamesa. Halos lahat iyon ay ang mga paborito namin kainin ni Aidan. Sisig, Sweetened Garlic Chicken Wings, Fried Rice, Relyenong Alimango at Ube Halaya.

Isinabit ko sa aking ulo ang eyeglasses t'saka pinunasan ang luhang pumatak sa aking pisngi. Kahit akong pilit ko na huwag pumatak ang luha ay hindi ko iyon mapigilan. It's been six years since the last time I eat all of these with Aidan. Habang kumakain tuloy ako nang lunch, unti-unting binabalikan ng aking isipan ang nakaraan.

*FLASHBACK*

Katatapos lang ng general practice para sa graduation day naming mga magtatapos sa elementarya. E, bagong lipat lang sila Aidan, yung kaibigan ko, dito sa subdivision na tinitirahan namin. Kaya naman sabay kaming umuwi.

Nauna kasing umuwi ang parents ni Aidan, sila Tita Gailou at Tito Andrew, sila ang mga magulang ni Aidan. Yung parents ko naman ay hindi ko alam kung nakauwi na ba sila o hindi pa? Nasa ibang bansa kasi ang mga ito.

"Hoy, iyakin. Doon na tayo kumain sa amin. Baka mamaya umiyak ka naman dahil wala kang kasama kumain sa inyo." Akala mo ay laging naghahamon ng away na sabi ni Aidan.

"I'm not iyakin anymore, Aidan Hal. T'saka nasa bahay si Kuya, kaya may kasama ako." Salubong ang mga kilay na aniko.

"Your Kuya is not there, Lily Jane. I saw him playing at the yard of the school with his friends. Kaya you're alone ulit."

"Bakit ba lagi mo na lang akong inaaway, ha? Hindi naman kita inaano d'yan e."

"O, 'wag ka iiyak. Iiyak ka na naman e."

"Hindi na nga ako iyakin, Aidan. Palibhasa kasi... "

"Palibhasa kasi ano? Iyakin pa rin, Lily Jane..."

"Ewan ko sa'yo. Palagi mo na lang akong inaaway at inaasar, pero yung ibang girls sa batch natin hindi naman ganito ang turin mo sa kanila." Hindi pa rin naaalis ang pagkakakunot ng aking kilay.

"Ito naman, biro lang e. Sige na, hindi na kita aasarin, sorry na. Iiyak ka na naman e." Ani Aidan at umakbay pa sa'kin.

Lumayo ako sa kanya, "akala ko ba hindi ka na mang-aasar ha?" Pasigaw na tanong ko sa kanya. Tumawa ito at sinabing, "hindi na nga."

"Weh?" Hindi siguradong aniko.

"Oo, promise hindi na kita aasarin." Nangangako pa na aniya.

"Weh? Talaga ba? Baka butog lang yan?" Sabi ko naman.

Tumango s'ya at ipinatong ang palad sa dibdib, kung nasan ang puso. "Promise, hindi na kita aasarin. Ngayon lang. Bukas at sa makalawa at sa mga dadaan pa na mga araw, aasarin ulit kita." Akala ko pa naman ay seryoso na si Aidan.

Sinamaan ko s'ya ng tingin t'saka hinabol nang tumabo ito papalayo sa'kin habang tumatawa, tuwang-tuwa talaga s'yang pinagtitripan ako sa mga kalokohan n'ya.

Pagdating sa subdivision ay dumaretso agad kami sa kanya-kanyang bahay. Magkatabi lang ang bahay namin at bahay nila Aidan. Magkatapat naman ang bintana ng kwarto ko at kwarto nito, nasa ibaba naman ang bakuran which is magkatapat lang rin.

Hindi ko nga naabutan si Kuya sa bahay, si Erin naman ay nasa ibang bansa nag-aaral, sa puder ng mga magulang namin. And they aren't here.

Umakyat ako sa kwarto ko upang magbihis. Nakabukas ang bintana at akma ko sana itong isasarado, ngunit napatalon ako sa gulat nang biglang sumulpot sa bintana ng kwarto ni Aidan ito.

He's wearing his scary mask para gulatin ko, and guess what? He succeeded in from scarring the hell outta me. I rolled my eyes to him and closed my window so I can get change. I even heard him say, "sorry! Hindi ko na uulitin!"

I changed my clothes from wearing a school uniform, I wore a plain color purple short and a plain white t-shirt, ang buhok ay nakalugay. Nang matapos ay nagtungo ako sa kusina upang kumain, and there's a Sisig, Fried Rice, at Ube Halaya. Susubo na sana ako nang pagkain when someone throw a small rock to our window at the kitchen.

"Lily Jane! Come out here, sabay tayong kumain!" It's Aidan's voice and he throw another one of the small rock again. "Lily Jane! Come on!" He calls me.

So, to make him stopped throwing a piece of rock and shouting my name, I pick up all the foods in our table and went outside, sa backyard. There's a lamesa and chairs doon kaya doon ko nilapag ang mga pagkain.

"What's that? Hoy, Lily Jane. Ano 'yan ulam mo?" Dinig ko na tanong ni Aidan Hal. Hanggang tuhod lang kasi ang taas ng halaman na nagsisilbing boundaries ng mga bahay namin kaya kitang-kita namin ang isa't isa.

"It's sisig, my favorite." Aniko at nag-umpisa na kumain. "And a kinirog?" Patanong pa na ani Aidan.

"Anong kinirog?" Tanong ko naman. Kinuha n'ya ang pagkain n'ya t'saka lumipat dito sa table ko, tinawid n'ya yung mga halaman, dalawang beses pa s'yang bumalik doon.

"Kinirog, hindi mo alam yun?" Tanong n'ya at umiling naman ako, "pero yung sinangag, alam mo?" tanong n'ya ulit at tumango naman ako. "They're same. Iba lang yung term of word na ginamit ko." Aniya.

"What's that?" Tanong ko naman sa kanya nang akma na itong kakain. "Sweetened Garlic Chicken Wings, Fried Rice, and Relyenong Alimango. Kung gusto mo kumuha ka lang, basta ako rin sa sisig at ube, ha?" Nagkatinginan kaming dalawa at sabay na natawa.

Simula noon, naging favorite na namin pareho ni Aidan ang mga yun. Ang Sisig, Sweetened Garlic Chicken Wings, Fried Rice, Relyenong Alimango at Ube Halaya.

Every lunch time namin when we entered high school, umuuwi pa kami sa bahay para doon kumain, dahil alam namin na ayun na naman ang ulam namin. Hindi kami nagsasawa sa ganon e, every time we taste it again, it was like new for us again.

*END OF FLASHBACK*

"Ate Lj, nandito na si Ate Ingrid and her cousins." Agad kong pinunasan ang luha sa'kin mga mata at nginuya ang laman na pagkain ng bibig at uminom nang tubig, nang marinig ko si Erin.

"Yeah, tell 'em to come in." Aniko at mabilis na kumilos. Inilagay ang pinggan sa lababo at naghugas ng kamay. Nagpupunas ako ng kamay nang pumasok sa kusina si Ingrid.

"Ano, girl? Shenglot pa? Ito o, inumin mo nang mawala iyang hangover mo." Inabot n'ya s akin ang isang bote na kulay itim at ininom ko naman iyon.

"Salamat. Where's your cousins? Anong type of photograph ba gusto nila?" Tanong ko at akma nang pupunta sa studio nang harangin ako ni Ingrid. "Umiyak ka na naman ba?" She asked.

I fake a smile, "gaga, hindi. Ganyan na talaga yung mata ko simula nung gumising ako." Sabi ko na lang and she sighed. "Hi, cousins! Lahat kayo magpapapicture?" Tanong ko sa limang pinsan ni Ingrid na nandon sa studio kasama ni Erin.

"Girl, makacousins ka naman. Ako ang may pinsan sa kanila, ha? Baka nakakalimutan mo?" Sabi naman ni Ingrid dahilan para magkatawanan sa loob ng studio ko.

"Charot lang, ito naman. Hindi ko naman aangkinin mga pinsan mo, girl." Sabi ko naman, "ay wala, ti! Nasabi mo na kanina." Dagdag ni Ingrid dahilan upang magtawanan na naman kami.

"So, ano? Magkatawanan lang tayo dito? Ganon?" Sabi ko naman. "O, girl. Wait, you haven't meet them before so, ayan mga pinsan ko sila. Si Leinart, Llyan, Tracey, Stanley, and Alexander." Isa-isang pinakilala ni Ingrid ang kanyang mga pinsan.

"O, kayong tatlong lalaki d'yan. Alam kong single kayo pero 'wag itong kaibigan ko, ha?" Dagdag pa ni Ingrid.

"Ate Ingrid, as if naman papatol si Ate Lj sa mga pinsan mo. Hindi pa nga nakakamove-on kay Kuya Aidan." Kumento naman ng kapatid kong lokaret, binatukan ko nga ng hindi kalakasan.

"Alam mo ikaw? Shut off. Kapatid kita pero ayaw ko minsan yung lumalabas d'yan sa bibig mo ha. Let's start, anong klase ba ng photograph nais n'yo kasi?" Mainit na ang ulo na aniko.

"ID picture sa amin ni Llyan, Miss Lj." Sabi ni Tracey. Tumango naman ako t'saka agad silang inayos bago kuhaan ng litrato.

"Bakit magmomove-on si Ate mo, Erin e, hindi naman yata naging sila?" Dinig kong mahinang sabi ni Ingrid kay Erin.

"I can hear you, Ingrid. Isa pa, Tracey. Smile like you won a lottery." Sabi ko naman at inulit pa ni Ingrid ang sinabi ngunit mas hininaan n'ya nga, dinig ko pa rin naman. Lumipas ang segundo, mga minuto, oras, araw at linggo. Wala akong ginagawa kundi ang kuhaan ng litrato ang iba't ibang tao sa araw-araw, sa hapon ay nanunuod kami ni Erin ng Blue Period.

Hindi ako nagsasawa panuorin iyon, dahil kamukha ni Aidan si Yatora Yaguchi, yung protagonist sa Manga Series. Kaya pala familiar yung mukha ni Yaguchi for me dahil kay Aidan. Itim lang ang buhok ni Aidan kasi habang platinum blonde ang kay Yaguchi.

Kapag gabi naman at kung hindi kami busy pareho ni Ingrid ay lumalabas kami at kakain-inom. Iyon ang tawag namin sa hangouts namin ni Ingrid, kain-inom. Literal lang na kakain sa labas at iinom ng hard drinks or wine, minsan ay shopping at relaxation.

"Ate, huwag ka magagalit ha? Ano ba nangyari sa inyo ni Kuya Aidan?" Isang gabi ay tinanong ako ni Erin. Pinapanuod kasi namin ulit yung season 1 ng Blue Period.

Hindi ko s'ya nilingon at nanatiling nakapokus ang paningin sa pinapanuod. "Bakit mo naman natanong?" Tanong ang sagot ko sa tanong ni Erin.

"Wala lang. I was just curious to know. Madalas kasi kitang naririnig na umiiyak doon sa studio mo habang tinititigan yung litrato n'yo ni Kuya Aidan." Nagkibit-balikat na ani Erin.

Doon ko lang s'ya nilingon, ang mga paa ay yakap, habang ang baba ay nakapatong sa tuhod, hindi ako nagsalita. I didn't know na Erin was watching me cry over Aidan.

"I haven't met Kuya Aidan in person, but Kuya Louis Patrick did. Palagi n'yo s'ya nakukwento sa akin dati every time you and Kuya Louis Patrick went to California to visit me." Mahabang sabi ni Erin.

I smiled at her, "we did." Tipid kong sabi. She chuckles and faced the TV screen, pero she's talking to me pa rin.

"I can tell na you like Kuya Aidan just by you always talking about him. And then when I went here, I thought I can see Kuya Aidan na, but you said na umalis s'ya. I asked about him kay Kuya but he wouldn't tell me." Dagdag pa ni Erin, ang tingin ay nasa pinapanuod pa rin.

"It's okay if you can't tell me, Ate. I'll understand. Just tell me your story na lang." T'saka n'ya ako nilingon, may ngiti sa mga labi.

I smiled at her but it didn't get up to my eyes, "anong story?" I chuckled. "Kahit ano? Paano mo nalaman na nagkakagusto ka na kay Kuya Aidan? Did you confess your feelings towards him or not? Why and why not?" Erin shrugged and be both chuckles.

"Looks like my two princess are having a good time together." Napatingin kami pareho ni Erin doon sa pinanggalingan ng tinig. "Kuya! You didn't beep us na you're coming home pala?" Si Erin.

She stood up to greet our brother so I did the same thing. Beso-beso, ganyan. "I forgot e. Ayan na naman pinapanuod n'yo?" Nagsasawa na tanong ni Kuya Louis Patrick. He's three years older than me and a CEO and Chef of his own restaurant in Tagaytay.

"Kamukha kasi ni Kuya Aidan, si Yaguchi." Ani Erin dahilan upang lingunin ako ni Kuya. I sighed and went up to my room.

I had lots of people send me songs that reminded them of BAON, And I think I mentioned every now and then I had certain songs in mind when writing chapters, so I thought I’d compile everything into a playlist for those of you who might be interested. :) If there are lyrics underneath a song, then that means it’s one I was actively listening to/daydreaming to when writing that scene so take that however you wish, lol.

Book Review: The Partner Track by Helen Wan

So this book first came to my attention when it was announced that it was due to be adapted for TV by Netflix, featuring the sensational Arden Cho. I never like to do half measures, and I’m always up for discovering new and talented authors, so I immediately grabbed myself a copy.

Before we start the review, some quick info, so The Partner Track was written by Helen Wan, a Taiwanese-American lawyer and author. The plot of The Partner Track was somewhat based upon Helen’s own experience as a young female, person of colour in the legal profession. The Partner Track follows the journey of Ingrid Yung, as she attempts to become the first minority woman to make partner at her firm, Parsons Valentine & Hunt, while also striving to make her parents, who are first-generation Chinese-Americans immigrants proud. 

Helen says that while there is overlap between her and Ingrid, that the book is not autobiographical, she did however strive to provide as accurate an experience of corporate life as possible, and obviously her own experiences as a woman of colour help to shape some of the experiences of those had by Ingrid but the book itself is a work of fiction.
