I always see some people discover x diagnosis that applies to them and starting to go 'oh I guess I only do this thing because of my diagnosis' or 'man the only thing that was special about me comes from my diagnosis which means that it's not really special' (or, conversely, they discover something they do is a symptom of something and think they can't do it anymore because they're not officially a person who has that thing) and stuff like that and I do wanna say. You don't realize that an illness or disability doesn't make *you* you?
I think some people perceive a diagnosis as something that is added on top of their own self. Like something that exists separately to them, as its on individual thing. There's you, and then there's your anxiety, and then there's your autism, and then there's your bpd, or whatever. And these things that exist outside of you, but tied to you, pass you down these characteristics that in a medical aspect are called symptoms. As a consequence, after being diagnosed, some people also think that you can only behave in a way that relates to those symptoms or qualifies as them, because this diagnosis that has taken so much individuality from yourself- That took your hardships and traits and advantages and disadvantages and turned them into a list of diagnosis criteria listed away in your medical record- Will be invalidated on its own if you don't, and all that loss will have been for nothing. It's bad enough to have its own name, but it's not defined enough to give you a safe space within a community of people with the same label, too.
Of course, me just saying this doesn't fix anything for everyone, but this is just not true. A label doesn't make you, because you make the label.
There's no such thing as an ancient spirit called autism, or anxiety, or bpd, or depression, or anything, that has this entire list of traits that came down upon humanity and whispered into the ears of doctors how to identify the bearers of its curse. It's just a group of things that has been seen repeatedly, person after person, for years upon years. It's a pattern that we've acquired after observing people and some stuff that they had in common that made them identifiable. But did all of them have all of those traits? Were none of them anything more than the result of this observation? Were they not their own person? And, before these invertigations were done, weren't those traits still there?
No one can hear your name and know everything about you, because the label people use to refer to you is only part of the big net of things that make you you. But aren't you Alex? Aren't you Noah? Aren't you the person they call by your name?
It's all a big net. It's all tied together. There's not one thing inside your head that works independently. There's no part of you that only exists in certain situations, or only while being displayed, or anything like that. Your behaviors aren't caused by your diagnosis, they're caused because You take part in them, and then people beyond you see them and name them. You aren't a machine that works because someone placed your pieces in a certain mechanism, you are a mesh that comes apart when you take a single thread off.
The very core of you can't be defined by an ecuation. You can't add a trait to another and so on until it becomes a person. You are an experience that will never be able to be labeled as a whole with any word. You aren't bound to no box, because there's no container in the shape of something that's always changing and never seen before. No one else has lived the things that made you you the way you did. There's no one that will ever be you better than you, and you'll never be you worse than someone else is.

Expert Witnesses
Crimes are committed daily all around our nation, experts collect blood stains, footprints, and DNA to contribute to the evidence of a court case. Not only will the evidence found will be omitted into the courts, but the expert can be called into court as a witness in the trial.
The purpose of a expert witness is to ‘educate’ the jurors to a extend upon the scientific facts or through the use of hypothetical questions. Before the expert witness can give their ‘testimony’ or opinion over the subject of the case they are there for they need to be qualified. By showing they are qualified to the jury, such things as a college degree and other certificates it can appeal to the jury, this can make the expert witness’s testimony seeming better grounds. In beginning of the qualifications, one is needed to qualify as an expert in the field. An example, a biologist having a master in chemist and having ten years in lab experience. “Although judges are the ultimate gatekeepers of what constitutes valid scientific evidence, attorneys play an important part in determining what evidence is presented to the court.” (Wechsler) Attorneys do help determine the prime expert witness candidates, by considering the educational and experience background of a candidate. Then the attorney will conduct a ‘voir dire’, which is a questioning examination that gives the lawyer more information into their professional background.  The opposing lawyer can also give a voir dire to the expert witness to make sure their qualifications are sound, but the final decision to whether the professional will become an expert witness is determined by the judge presiding over the case.
The type of testimony given by the expert witness can vary from presenting physical evidence such as a finger print or giving a professional opinion over a hypothetical situation. Another type of expert witness testimony that is rarely used, by using information from a similar situation that is a normal procedure in the field experts can also form their professional opinions. It isn’t normally used because going off hypothetical facts will not always be accurate or useful to the case. The use of physical evidence is much more common, the expert witness can be highly educated in the field, but the jury may not be and as the expert witness you will become a educator. “Excellent teaching is the same as excellent testifying in the sense that they are both transient situations—states—rather than necessarily being enduring elements of a person. Teaching and being an expert witness are performance states, as opposed to states of tranquility or receptivity. At their best, great teaching and great testimony are almost the same thing in terms of providing compelling, cogent, and meaningful information.” (Brodsky) Being an expert in the field you are in means that one should be able to explain a subject relating to the field in a clear and easy-to-understand way.
Court trials can vary in type of expert witness needed for the case, since our advancement in technology in the last two hundred years, many new fields have popped up to aid investigations. Such fields as forensic science, criminalistics, accident investigation, and document examination, these fields vary upon the education needed to become qualified to act as a expert witness. Fields such as document examination don’t have specific schools people go to learn the trade, it’s the years of experience that qualify them. On the other hand, forensic science is a diverse field over different types of investigational sciences, it takes chemistry, biology, law, and physics courses and years to complete a degree. The variations of people who can qualify depends on the field itself and the experience that they have.

Do you think there is a connection between the three drangon eggs smuggled off Dragonstone by Elissa Farman from Rhaena Targaryen and Daenerys' three dragons eggs that she receives from Illyrio Mopatis?
Hi, sorry for taking so long to answer, I’ve been busy. I usually don’t care so much about this type of speculation (I love analysing characters, but I don’t care about the lore very much). So tbh, I never thought very deeply about it. But I know a meta that does an excellent invertigation on this subject. You can read it HERE. The conclusion of the meta is that we can’t really say for sure, and that GRRM wants (at least for now) to leave things open. But if you ask for my opinion, I do like the idea. I don’t think it’s too far-fetched that the sealord of Braavos sold the eggs (or that they were stolen). Someone could make one objection: if the dragon eggs had Targaryen origins, why didn’t Illyrio tell Dany? Why did Illyrio say they came from Asshai? After all, if Illyrio told Dany that her dragon eggs were connected to her family, he could make her feel even more grateful to him. I think the answer to this objection is that Illyrio didn’t know. Maybe someone stole and smuggled the eggs to Asshai, and some Asshai’i sold the eggs to him, without Illyrio ever knowing their true origins. But in the end, it’s open to interpretation. Read the meta I linked, and you can decide if you think the interpretation of Dany’s eggs being Elissa’s eggs is too far-fetched or not. I personally like to think that Dany’s eggs are the eggs Elissa smuggled. But they could have some other origin as well.

haha i know that atlach nacha isnt for everyone (big skeleton spider man lol) id say that my favorite eldritch's aside from the two aforementioned are the colour out of space (in acting more of a hivemind consiousness), cthulhu, and then probably shub nuggurath, although i think dagon is really close too. i just wanna be held by world eating gods that induce insanity on the mind of man as you bestow your mortal gaze upon their unfathomable glory >.> also how do u feel abt hiveminds? -🐙
Honestly any being like this that are closer from deep sea monsters are certainly what I would love the most. Deep sea is huge, so could be the monsters down there! So Cthulhu and Dagon are big winner here hahaha
I never really put much though in hiveminds. That is something worht invertigating on

Sorry, one thing I forgot about. That reporter's motivation for invertigating Crane's origin in The Legend of Supreme, is that he got her father killed during a hostage situation because he's a psychotic moron, yet this is never mentioned in the mini. It's not important, I just never thought I would have the opportunity to share that information with somebody.
Wait, did this come up in the main book or something? I know his pastor mentor returned as an evil robot or somesuch.

Case 1: The Fairy Figurine, Part 5
Sniffer
You're still sneaking through the halls, your pumper racing. Somewhere through the idle thoughts about lunch and the toilet in the west wing being clogged again, you can still hear the Deputy hurrying away from your direction and you have to jog to keep up. Eventually you're in her range again. You just have to...make sure she can't see you while you spy on her. You are so screwed if you're caught.
Narrator
'...envious beast. That's what happens when you quadrant outside of your work. You get trolls who don't know how to behave.', the deputy's thoughts race. She's stopped in the kitchen, most likely making herself tea. 'And they always leave the sugar open to get wet. Disgusting.' Her thoughts are silent for a moment, and instead, long steps can be heard down the hallway, moving towards Sniffer.
Sniffer
Trolls who don't know how to...what? You're distracted by trying to figure out that one. Is this even related to the case? Did you just eavesdrop on a perfectly normal, albeit scandalous, bit of mental conversation? You're deep enough in your second guesses that you almost miss the footsteps coming your way. You take in a sharp breath, immediately turning tail and trying to quietly make it back around the corner before she or whoever actually sees you. It's a known fact that you read minds, there is no way to make this look innocent, you're sure. ...Your idea of sneaking probably should not include power walking in terror down the tiled floors. You never really notice how loud your footsteps are until you don't want them to be heard.
Narrator
The steps coming down the hallway belong to one very agitated private secretary, whose thoughts are circling around the death of the victim over and over. It sounds like the two were familiar,  and they're thoroughly upset - upset enough to drive the deputy to leave the kitchen as soon as they enter.  'More nervous energy is not what I -', she begins to think, before she sees Sniffer walking away from her. "...Ah.", she goes. "Detective Sniffer, would you have a moment?"
Sniffer
You pause, squeaking a little, your pumper beyond ready to leave your chest. You're caught. At the very least, maybe they'll believe you weren't spying on them? You take a deep breath and plaster a polite smile on your face, clasping your hands in front of you as you turn around. "Yes ma'am? What can I do for you?"
Narrator
"Come here", she demands, beckoning Sniffer in with a bend of her finger. "We both know you were listening. You're assigned to that murder from this evening, aren't you?"
Sniffer
You keep smiling, taking a deep breath through the nose. You messed up, you messed up, you messed up so badly. And now she's not happy with you at all. You rock on your feet a little, trying hard not to shake with the nervousness. "I was, yes ma'am. Do you...have anything you could tell us, perhaps?" You cringe at how small your voice sounds. This is why things are easier when your team is around. You can at least pretend you feel braver than you are when it comes to people being unhappy with you. "Anything you could share would be very helpful." You add, mentally crossing your fingers.
Narrator
"Hmmm, I'm sure it would. Unfortunately, sticking my sniff node in this would be career suicide", the deputy explains, an edge to her words that's eerily predatory for what's being said. "I can read in your intentions, however, that you wish to invertigate the chief's matesprit, and advise you not to do that." One hand around her cup of tea and the other behind her back, she strides past Sniffer and down the corridor, not giving her a second look. "We really ought to get you a nullifier. "
Sniffer
You fidget, swallowing hard as you shift from foot to foot. How do you even respond to this? The meaner part of your pan is saying that you'd just love a nullifier if it means shutting her up right now. But the normal half is saying that you need to apologize, to make this right somehow. To make her less displeased with that.  "With all due respect, ma'am, I'm just doing my job. I investigate who I have to. It's nothing personal. It really isn't. I'm very sorry!" The last part comes out as more of an embarrassing squeak that makes your stomach turn.
Narrator
All this nets Sniffer are raised eyebrows and a disappointed shake of the head, before the deputy disappears around the corner.
Sniffer
You take another breath, very casually flipping off the Deputy when you're sure she's gone and there's nobody around to see it. Once that's done with, you get on your communicator again, whispering once more. "Hey, guys. Did....any of you know that the chief has a matesprit?"
Virus
Virus perks up somewhere else, holding a hand to their communicator to hear Sniffer better. "A matesprit? Seriously? ...What does that have to do with anything?"
Sniffer
"I'm not sure. But the deputy caught me. And after helpfully suggesting a nullifier for me-" You hum in annoyance over the line. "She said she knows I want to investigate the chief's matesprit, but that I shouldn't do that. There was also something about dating outside of work and leaving the sugar open to get wet." You pause. "Not sure if we're being baited or not, though. Keep an eye on her."
Firewall
"What led you to the chief's matesprit, Sniffer? And no, I didn't know chief had one." You drum your nails on the table. "...Surely this wasn't an inside job."
Sniffer
"The deputy was passing by and thinking something about a girl who might have her fingers in something. So I followed her and that was what happened. There's also a secretary who was pretty upset about the death and was apparently close to the victim. I'll try there next." You frown. "Hence the worry about baiting. I'm not sure how a secret lover and a mummified monster are connected."
Virus
"Wait a second", Virus interrupts. "Mummified monster? Forget the rest, what's up with that?"
Sniffer
"Did you read the file details I sent over to the communal file? Hopefully the footage comes to the cloud soon. But." You shiver. "The killer was some kind of beast. It had black rags and sharp claws for carving and it disappeared back behind the file cabinet-" A pause. "...In the chief's office." "Leaving the sugar to get wet...the deputy thought something about the matesprit leaving the sugar to get wet. It had a water bottle, but it didn't seem to know how to use it."
Virus
"Uhhhh." It's quiet on Viruses side for a moment. "No, haven't read it yet. I'll watch the footage as soon as it comes." "...And sugar? Are you sure? That's one fucked up metaphor for cheating, if you are."
Firewall
"Keep looking at the secretary, Sniffer. Then onto the deputy maybe. I... Doubt that the sugar thing's a cheating metaphor; maybe she's just making assumptions about lowbloods."
Sniffer
"What? Virus, don't be crude! I think that was literal...she was making tea." You nod. "I'll talk to the secretary and see what I can get. Has anyone else found out anything that's not in the file yet?"
Virus
"Nope, I sent you everything I have. ...Do you think looking into the matesprit will get us slapped?"
Download
“Whaaat?”
Sniffer
"Yes." You say, blunt. "But our hands are tied so what choice do we have? And you know how we were thinking there was something the chief wasn't telling us? If she knows more than she's letting on, then that could.....also be a problem..." You finish, looking over your shoulder like the chief is going to be standing there. This is so risky.
Download
“Well we’re supposed to be keeping this whole investigation on the mum anyway, we just have to play our cards close to the chest.  Can we make one of those billboards where we put picture of people and connect them with yarn for this? It seems like things are getting complicated.”
Firewall
Uncomfortable, you run your hands through your hair. "Be careful, Sniff. Don't directly accuse anyone, and be subtle about your questions, okay?"
Virus
"Yeeeah D, making one of those is definitely not going to get us found out. Handmaid in combat." Lowering their voice to a hiss, Virus goes on: "Do we have a way of figuring this out without getting caught?"
Download
“If those who are higher up put us on the case and are still involved, are they expecting us to cover it up for them maybe?”
Sniffer
"I know I just...I had the thought. Let me see what I can get out of some other people here. I'll be off comm for a bit." You say, turning off your communicator and heading back towards the kitchen. You have a secretary to talk to.
Narrator
In the kitchen, the agitated secretary is nursing a coffee - not the first of the night, if the shake of their hands is anything to go by.  When Sniffer enters the kitchen, they hastily wipe at their eyes, give her an "oh, sorry", and try to push past her to evacuate the kitchen.
Sniffer
"Are you okay?" You ask, offering a hand to them and blocking their way out as discreetly as you can. "What's happened?" You already know what happened, but maybe you can both get them to talk and offer a helping hand. You don't like seeing people that upset.
Narrator
The secretary takes a step back, not accepting the hand, but still giving Sniffer a teary smile. "You probably already know", they laugh, voice wobbly, and go back into the kitchen to lean against the counter. "It's Vosmar. I know people die all the time here, but..." They trail off, shoulders drawn up.
Sniffer
"I...do, yes." You nod solemnly at them, giving an awkward smile back of your own. "I'm so sorry for your loss." It's killing you to be near her right now. You can hear the river of every tragic thought she has running through her head right now and it's breaking your heart. How awful. You're sure you'd do the same if a member of your team wound up dead, honestly. "I'm with that investigation, by the way. I know this may be a raw question to ask, but is there anything you can tell us about Vosmar that can help us find who did this to him? Anything at all could be helpful."
Narrator
"I..." For a moment, it looks like the secretary wants to say something, but their eyes take on a haunted look, like a rabbit ducked in a field waiting for the hawk to swoop. "No, I can't. I can't, actually. But - " They gather their thoughts, thinking as quietly as they can. 'Things get lost around here. People too. You should look into that. And into... Vosmar's personal file.' "I'm sorry I couldn't tell you anything", they continue, and then practically storm out of the kitchen, coffee left behind.
Sniffer
You blink in shock as you watch them go, frowning. Something was wrong there. Something was scaring that poor troll. But what? You stare idly at their coffee like that might give you the answer you're looking for as you turn your communicator back on.  "Mixed results with the secretary. The poor thing was distraught beyond belief. They clammed up and brain told me to check Vosmar's personal file. And that things and people get lost around here." You go ahead and start cleaning up the coffee as you continue. "Virus, what did you find in the files?"
Narrator
A tapping can be heard as Virus checks their communication device with their fingers. "The exact opposite, S. Things not getting lost when they _should've." There's a moment of pause before they continue. "Sorry, coffee. The vic wasn't destroying files when he should've been. That's the only black mark on the file."
Sniffer
"There has to be something else in there. Something we're not seeing." You cross your arms, biting on your lip as you think. "Did it say what the undisposed files contained?"
Download
“Might be a bait and switch? I don’t know if we have it on record but maybe the records that actually got destroyed weren’t switched out with the actual ones. If they were for a case, maybe we can talk to the people involved?”
Sniffer
"We'd have to find out which case first, though. Virus, where are you? Do you mind if I come peek at the files too?"
Virus
"On my way back. Meet me in the lounge. ...And bring more coffee."(bearbeitet)
Sniffer
"Suuuure, make me the coffee troll." You hope they know you're sticking your tongue out right now. "I'll grab it and head down to meet you."
Virus
"Very good. And D, can you look into that?"
Download
“Well we’re all going to take a look at the old casefile together right? We need more leads to look into that way.”
Sniffer
"With all of us there, I wouldn't be surprised if we end up finding something we all missed the first time. Virus, you'd better like black because they're out if creamer in here."

This Nebraska Garage is Packed with Cool Cars and an In-Floor Heating System
Howard Toelle lives in Omaha, Nebraska. The house he and his wife, Dottie, previously owned was equipped with a basic 2-car garage, and Howard added on to it, increasing its capacity to store more than six cars. “The ceiling wasn’t high enough to install a lift so I added a pit in the floor instead,” he said. “After a while we found that we needed more garage space, so in 2001 we decided to move.”
The Toelles designed their own custom-built home and construction began shortly after. Howard knew this was his chance to build the garage he’d always wanted. Not only did he plan for an attached garage measuring 1,100 sq-ft, he also added a freestanding building that measured 1,800 sq-ft. “I wanted to extra space for my hobbies and went as large as the neighborhood covenants would allow for a detached garage,” he added.
Howard quickly filled his new garage with cars and equipment, but the 30 x 60-foot structure also includes several amenities of a well-equipped home. It’s practically ready to be lived in, and he and Dottie did exactly that for three months in 2002 while their new home was being finished just a few feet away. Today, Howard’s detached garage serves as his office, includes a couch and recliners for lounging and recreating, boasts plenty of capacity for his vehicles and other projects, and hosts friends.
1 In 1989, Howard purchased his dream car—a 1966 Pontiac GTO. Its frame-off restoration was completed in 1992. The Burgundy beauty is equipped with a 389-ci V8, Tri-Power induction, and a four-speed manual transmission. It’s capable of turning quarter mile elapsed times in the low-14 second range on street tires.
2 The 1932 Chevy 2-door sedan was purchased in 1976. The former hay sweep vehicle remained in storage for 26 years before it became Howard’s newest project in 2002. Al and Glen Boege of Auto Craft Inc. in Omaha, Nebraska created a custom-built frame and added suicide doors to the all-steel body. The drivetrain consists of a 350-ci Ram Jet V8 with fuel injection from GM Performance, a 700R-4 automatic transmission, and a 9-inch Ford rear axle.
3 New technology appeals to Howard as much as vintage iron. He purchased this 2016 Corvette Z06 new that model year. It’s equipped with the supercharged 6.2L LT4 V8 that’s rated at 650 hp and 650 lb-ft. The 8-speed automatic transmission delivers consistent on-track performance and makes the Corvette Racing Yellow Tintcoat coupe ideal for cruising.
4 Howard’s first vehicle was a 1962 Chevy Impala. This recently-acquired example was purchased in 2017 as a throwback to his youth. It’s powered by a 300 hp 327-ci small block and backed by a four-speed manual transmission.
5 The lone Mopar is Howard’s stable is this 1970 Plymouth GTX. He purchased it in 2001 and started its restoration shortly after. Other projects took precedence, which ultimately delayed its completion until 2014. It’s equipped with a 440-ci Six Barrel,, four-speed manual transmission with pistol-grip shifter, and Dana 60 rear axle with 4.10:1 gearing.
6 While one might assume that Howard fancies four-wheel vehicles only, this 2000 Harley-Davidson Dyna Wide Glide motorcycle that he purchased new proves otherwise.
7 The garage walls are constructed of insulated concrete forms. The Reward Wall System consists of poured concrete that measures 6-inch thick that’s surrounded on either side by 2-inch thick foam panels. In addition to its very high strength, the air-tight design is also extremely thermal-efficient. That combination keeps Howard’s collectibles safe from natural disasters and effectively maintains a climate-controlled environment.
8 A Carrier central air conditioning unit is located in the attic. It also includes a natural gas furnace that serves as a backup to the in-floor heating system. A whole-house fan is used to exhaust the structure while welding and a radon mitigation system improves air quality. The HVAC system, in-floor heating, and complete security system are maintained by a DDC controller from Control Systems International. Howard is able to review statuses and make adjustments from a PC or mobile device.
9 The poured-concrete sidewalls produce a garage structure that’s very sturdy and requires no floor-to-ceiling supports. The large I-beam on the ceiling serves as a lifting point for a sliding electric winch that Howard uses for moving heavy equipment or pulling engines.
10 The garage area is well illuminated by a total of 16 florescent light fixtures that each house two 110-watt bulbs in 8-foot length.
11 Howard applied the Maxtech polyamide epoxy floor coating by hand using a roller. It has held up quite well over the years.
12 The Coleman Powermate air compressor features a 6.5 hp motor and 60-gallon tank. An 80-gallon auxiliary tank serves as added capacity. Copper tubing delivers compressed air throughout the shop. It’s even plumbed to the attached garage on Howard’s house.
13 On the far wall is Howard’s desk for his garage-based office. In the corner is a half-bath complete with full size shower.
14 Whenever Howard needs to unwind after a long day or chooses to entertain friends, a full-size refrigerator holds a keg of beer, and the tap peering through delivers ice-cold beverages to thirsty adults.
15 A 2-post Rotary lift with 9,000-pound capacity makes easy work of under-vehicle repairs. Howard has another 2-post lift as well as a 4-post lift in his attached garage.
16 Howard’s hand tools are safely stored in a Waterloo Traxx tool cabinet.
17 A Victor oxy-acetylene torch, Hypertherm Plasma Cutter, Miller 110-volt MIG welder, and HTP Invertig 200-amp AC/DC welder makes metal fabrication a chinch.
18 An Excel 2-ton engine hoist is handy for plucking engines and a CATIC half-ton transmission jack allows Howard to remove gearboxes whenever the need arises.
19 A large HO-scale road course built from slot car track keeps Howard and his grandchildren busy. It folds against the wall for compact storage when not in use.
20 Howard is presently building an HO-scale quarter-mile drag strip that uses slot car track. Trap speeds are expected to exceed a true speed of 100 mph. The setup is suspended from the ceiling and is easily raised and lowered as needed.
21 A vintage Atari Centipede upright arcade game entertains garage guests of all ages.
22 On the walls hangs Howard’s life memories and flags from the countries that he and Dottie have visited over the years.
Being a steamfitter by trade gave Howard the knowledge and ability to install an in-floor radiant heating system in his detached garage. The Heatway Systems product consists of rubber tubing encased within the insulated concrete floor. Soft water is heated in a domestic hot water heater that includes an internal heat exchanger. It’s then circulated throughout the in-floor tubing by a thermostatically-controlled electric pump. Despite the outside air temperature, the system efficiently maintains comfortable conditions within the garage, which Howards keeps around 68 degrees during the winter. A similar setup heats his entire home and attached garage, too.
