How come you finished welcome home commissions before other commissions?
Sorry to be kind of rude but a friend of mine commissioned something a while before you started posting about Welcome Home and it’s understandable that you are busy but the welcome home commissions were likely commissioned after you started posting about it so I don’t know why you did them first.
I already know I’m gonna sound like an ass for a moment but here we go-
Firstly this can be taken up privately by your friend if they’re concerned. I also don’t particularly appreciate this in my inbox but to answer, it’s just whatever I can get through quickest. My oldest of the ones sitting are from much longer ago than anything anyone in Tumblr has commissioned me for and I’m finishing those tomorrow (they’re from Twitter and Instagram respectively and I dedicated my entire last Saturday to them alone). Those two have been quite kind and expressed their concerns about turnaround themselves if need be
Anything that’s particularly fun and interesting gets done quicker and keeps space open when others are a bit stuck when I need a quick slot filled like last week to cover an expense, for example. Scraping by on harder/less interesting commissions slows things down
Truly, it’s not that I don’t like some commissions, they’re just harder to sit and focus on
Additionally, my time management has been awful this year because of several points of uncertainty about getting a job, a couple scares on my living situation, and not having a clear window of time consistently to know when to work on things that have been sitting (and of course, burnout is always an issue). It’s easy to find time to just. Scribble and doodle, maybe do a piece for myself, but getting actual work done is a little more difficult. I’ve discovered preclaimed adopts and taking up so many commissions in May last minute wasas a bad choice so I’m still quite literally 15 commissions in the hole to finish on top of your friend’s commission. So making sure that isn’t gonna happen again is all I can do, at the moment. I’ve been chipping away at em in little bits of free time as best I can, reorganizing my canvases, getting a good idea of what’ll be finished first and last, etc etc I’ve actually been quite productive for the last week or so
If your friend is upset they need to tell me. They’re the client, and the content doesn’t concern you directly if you haven’t commissioned me and are waiting. If they’d like a refund because the turnaround is too long, that’s for them to communicate with me and I’m happy to provide a refund. I’m not always gonna be the best artist for the job if you want quick work and that’s fine. I’ve refunded MUCH larger pieces before for that reason. Clients may check in at any time whether I’ve got progress to show for the time or not. And oftentimes I don’t! Sometimes it’s days or a couple-few weeks before I can get progress to people, it just happens and I’ve been working on making sure it doesn’t keep happening so I don’t have to make people expect to wait so long before they hear from me. Trust me, it’s always a bit disappointing when I can’t show anything
And now that I’m working as well, my ability to finish those things just depends on what days I get to myself during the week and atm thats 3 days this week so those 3 days are dedicated to downtime and paid commission work. Which quite frankly, is a bit exhausting. Fun puppet characters and scaly dragons and whatnot are fun and rewarding and I’m clearing my queue while doing something I’m enjoying and that gets me to the older stuff much faster
I’m very sorry the turnaround estimate was more than a little off and it’ll be tweaked for better preparation in the future. I’m also sorry if they’ve asked and I didn’t respond quickly or have sounded dismissive. Hell, some clients pester and pester and that certainly makes doing work for them unenjoyable. I think about these commissions every single day and how I can approach them so I can finish them by sometime in July

—EMERGENCY COMMISISONS.
So uh, hi guys! While I sold at a convention this past weekend and did pretty okay, most of that money went towards a few bills, paying for my table. Ect. I’m actually still behind on some bills and wasn’t able to pay for everything. I also won’t have enough for groceries tomorrow either.
I do have a queue right now, but starting next week I will be hunkering down on commissions. Most of my spare time will be working on commission work so activity may be slow.
I live as a single income home right now and my partner is having a hard time finding work, so sometimes things like this come up where we don’t have enough money for stuff.
If I can maybe *somehow* get $100-$200 by tomorrow, I can pay for groceries to last us until next pay day. I am even slicing my prices in order to get more to my queue.
I do have merch that I sold at the con too ( prints, stickers, charms, buttons ). Lots of Pokémon, some original stuff, metal gear solid, twisted wonderland and street fighter. If interested in any of that stuff please DM me and I will give you pricing + shipping.
— GRAPHIC PRICING.

Post Splitters - $5.00
Dash Icon - $5.00
Icon Borders - $5.00
Icon Borders + Icons - $5.00 for the border, 0.50 0.25 cents per icon ( i will put a psd and the icons in the border for you. )
Banners (Headcanons, pinned, ect) - $10 $5 for 5 banners.
Header - $10.00 $5.00
Full Package ( everything above as a deal ) - $60 $40( only includes 30-50 icons depending on resources )
—ART COMMISSIONS.
These are much slower then graphics due to my mental health. I have a lot of examples so if interested in this I can DM you examples and my pricing list—I just can’t fit all examples here and I don’t have a proper sheet.
If this isn’t possible I’d appreciate sharing this regardless. I’m desperate and it sucks. While I don’t expect handouts, I will leave my PayPal here for those who want to help but don’t want to actually purchase anything:

My dear friend commissioned me to draw Edward for an Organized crime/mob AU that we plotted one day. I sort of poured my soul into this one for a few months. Including designing the chair, and creating not one but two kraken Motifs (one for the front of the chair and the other on his damask vest). I’m pretty happy with the result over all.

If you’re legitimately interested in my current pricing, my state’s min wage went up recently and the cheapest option, pushed up to the next highest dollar (not rounded) totals up to about an 8 hour work day not adding in any other expenses or subtracting fees.
Between drawing and scanning then finishing up on my iPad via Procreate, the time is decently accurate if not underestimated. The more expensive option is twice that which is about two work days in total hours.
It’s already hard to price my stuff accurately especially when I have been so ill back and forth and I haven’t completed much work in about a year now. I hope you’ll understand. Thank you for your continued support regardless.

I have a question about darkness exists to make light truly count. How come the fanfic I locked to ao3 users only?
ah yeah, that was a recent change because there was evidence that popular AI bots were scanning writing share sites like A03 in order to get better at fake writing. i don’t want my writing, that i spend a lot of time and energy on, to be used by AI to spit out automated responses to prompts. so i locked all my A03 fics to be user only (hopefully preventing any bots from having access, though i’m sure that’s not 100% foolproof).
i’m not sure what the current situation is, i’ve heard the A03 legal team was aware of the problem and working on a solution but until i know for sure, i’d rather be safe than sorry. i do apologize for the inconvenience, i’m not happy about it either (traffic and comments on my A03 took a sharp dive as expected) but it’s gonna stay that way until i know for sure my writing won’t be stolen by AI. god help us if AI starts farming from tumblr (luckily our reputation isn’t that of a writing site).

hey man love ur stuff. i was wondering if youd considered posting some of ur art on ao3? ive seen more ppl doing that lately, since ao3 isnt gonna ban "adult content." id love to follow u on twitter but i had to quit using that god forsaken app awhile ago lmao
Hey!
I honestly don’t plan to do that, truth be told I was initially very hesitant to publicly link my ao3 to my art account at all tjfk writing is a skill I’ve only just started brushing up on (I’ve always done it, but never seriously and not with the intent of making stuff that was to be seen by the public, and definitely haven’t studied it the way I have art) and it’s taking me a bit, still, to not feel embarrassed enough by everything I put out to not even want my name on it. I’d rather keep my art and my writing separate! If I were to I would have to make an account specifically for that, but honestly, that would only come if I felt the need to archive my stuff and not actively partecipate in the community anymore? I don’t know how to explain it. Obviously I’m still gonna keep posting my stuff even if Twitter crumbles, I’m trying to find an equivalent alternative still, and I don’t blame anyone for wanting to leave that dumpster fire, I’m just the kind of person who’s very hesitant to leave a place once I’ve figured out how it works - I honestly don’t know where else to put my nsfw if it does crumble into dust, tho. I might start posting previews on Tumblr with links to privatter in that case (they say they don’t allow nsfw but until they actively come down and delete my posts themselves, honestly, I’m gonna treat it like it is ok. After all all my posts there come with a disclaimer warning about 18+ themes and every potential CW present in the image so, I don’t think there’s anything morally wrong with that.)? I think I’ll see about that once it really comes to it. Terribly sorry if that locks anyone out! For what it’s worth, the full pieces of my nsfw are still on privatter so if you can access them there they’re still gonna be available, and for regular art I have here, bluesky, and misskey. (And Instagram, though I try to be as non-controversial there as possible because I’m honestly kinda terrified of the large anti presence there hfjfkf, so I don’t post most of my ship art there.)
