I will never be over the fact that we didn’t get to see Mildred and Gwen’s first time, and here’s why:

This entire series, we have been building to this moment, and they didn’t show us??

I know it’s not /about/ her budding lesbianism. I KNOW it’s not. However. It kind of really is?? We’re in the room when she tries to shove it down by having sex with a man. We’re in the room when she is battling with the treatment she’s giving those women. We are in the room when she tells Gwen that she has feelings for her. We are in the room when she confesses that she is a lesbian to Huck. We are in the room when she tells Gwen that she loves her. For their first kiss. And then it just magically hops forward a month and they’re casually making out in bed and that’s great. Don’t get me wrong. That’s /great/ and I will never complain about lesbian content. But this entire show we have been following this journey. And while it isn’t the main plot of the show, it is ONE of the main plots. And it runs under EVERYTHING, constantly. So to time jump right over this huge moment?? Everything was building to /this/ and they cut it right out. See, here’s the thing— If you’re not going to show me the first time she has sex with a woman, don’t show me the two sex scenes she has with a man. I don’t need something explicit (although if I have to watch her lower herself down on a man I feel like it’s only fair) but I just need that MOMENT. The one where she decides that she is ready. Because she tells Gwen, plain and simple, I have feelings for you but I need to take this at my own pace. So SHOW ME her pace. Because now I have too many questions. Did they fuck right after their first kiss?? They had the whole house to themselves. Or did they wait? Did Mildred say she wasn’t ready? Or did Gwen make them stop so that she didn’t push her? To me, that first time is a CRUCIAL point in their relationship. Show me Gwen trying to slow her down. Show me Mildred saying no, pulling Gwen’s fingers to her mouth, sliding them down between her legs. Show me that glorious moment of consent when Gwen’s brow pushes up and she whispers “Millie...” and Mildred NODS and Gwen absolutely devours her. I want to see all of it. I want closure to their story. Something that leads me along the path /the creators/ set out and doesn’t pull giant pieces of the road out from under me on the way. Again, they don’t even have to be explicit. Just them making their way to the bedroom and Gwen pushing Mildred down on the bed and crawling over her while they kiss. Or Mildred slowly unbuttoning her shirt while Gwen sits on the bed. Or ANYTHING. Just show me the INTENT to sleep together that first time. I just need to know when it happened and who cut that final line and said it was okay, and what actually happened in Mildred’s mind. Was it too much too fast? Was it like the puppet show where she pushed herself to make Gwendolyn happy? I want that moment when she realizes that being with a man was just as wrong as she always felt it was, where Gwendolyn spoils her and pampers her and makes her feel safe and warm and loved. I mean— we had some pretty harsh sex scenes with her and a man. Show me her realizing how different it could be. How incredible it is supposed to be. How loved she feels. I WANT TO WEEP, OKAY? Don’t get me wrong, they’ve given us great opportunity to write fanfiction and take it in our own directions, but I finished the show and there was still this... hollow space in me that felt incomplete. I followed this woman’s journey for eight episodes, the back and forth, the on and off, the struggling... and I had better not be missing this crucial moment because someone somewhere thought it would hurt their ratings, because so help me. I am so sick. And tired. Of lesbians being cropped out of media to make straight people comfortable. If this sex scene is on the cutting room floor, I request it kindly at my doorstep by tomorrow morning, Mr. Murphy. And if not... well then shame on the writers for not understanding the importance of THIS moment for THESE characters. Because then that means that they don’t understand or care about the characters like they should, and that absolutely breaks my heart.

Do you have any headcanons regarding our favourite dream sharers and tattoos/piercings?

I think it's pretty much established that Eames has a lot of them, thanks to TH, but everything else (and what they are) is pretty much free reign for fandom.

And is it weird that I have a clearer idea about Arthur than about Eames, aside from a vague 'a lot of tattoos, probably about 10/12'?

(it has become my headcanon that one of Eames' tattoos is the word DrEames though, and that's entirely your fault, that pun was too good and too Eames).

As for Arthur I give him 3 tattoos: the first one he got at 18 before joining the military and it represents the Bootes constellation (because it has a star named Arcturus, which sort of ties with his name, and has a whole symbolic meaning in itself); then I sort of seeing him getting one outlining a paradox, maybe the Penrose stairs, after the inception; and the last after marrying Eames, they both get a tattoo of their initials intertwined.

ohhh i love your HCs about arthurs tattoos! they are mistique and unique and so very him I can see him having those on him.. and matching tattoos for the dreamhusbands is quite so very precious!

now, for me, I’m not much of a tattoo person irl. I do appreciate THs dancing tats and wouldn’t mind few on arthur like you’ve described, but my personal fictional arthur doesn’t have any. I relate him a lot so I don’t really seeing him putting sth permanent intentionally on his body (things change, people change)... but I believe he has scars .. I know he has scars.. and I have headcanons for those.. so..

- a burn mark on his hand which he got when he was a sleep deprived grad student, while making coffee for him and mal at ass’o clock in the morning (he could’ve made sure that the blister never made a mark by holding it to running water- he would know, having had cleared off too many such burns by himself alone in the past -but mal had insisted in holding his hand in hers and blowing to it instead, and he had let her, as her warm touch had felt much more soothing than the coolest of water)

- the glass cut at his foot from broken glass at the hotel he had to drag dom from the night arthur has forgotten to forget (he probably should’ve worn shoes, one of many should’ves & could’ves he regrets; and the wound was not tended to immediately. he even forgot about it entirely until it got infected, as he was too busy trying and failing to heal doms wounds, hence his own, a wound which could’ve healed with time, had left an ugly scar)

- a graze at the knee where he slipped while trying and succeeding to catch james when he fell from the swing (again he was too busy shushing a scared james and philipa to take care of it properly, but it’s a scar he doesn’t mind having- and also may be a little proud to have on him. dom had gotten to know about the incident and in their next job, maldom had shot him through the same knee, and whenever arthur feels the phantom pain from the shot creeping up, he touches the scar and reminds himself of the swing accident instead)

- that memorable time an irritant chemical fell into his hand when he was drunk and stumbling in pitch dark through yusufs stuff in mombasa, trying to find a condom. (the night, thankfully and predictably, hadn’t gone as arthur had planned, as the burn had sobered arthur enough to come to his right mind and send off the random replacement of the night. the commotion had, of course, woken yusuf up, who, understanbly did nothing to clean the scalding wound, but while tearing arthur a new one for ruining his lab, yusuf had slipped the whereabouts of a certain forger, healing another, entirely different wound arthur had carried)

- a puncture site wound scar he got when a wet behind the ears extractor on her first job had practised inserting IV lines on him. she couldn’t get it right the first twelve times and kept missing the vein, but he had smiled and reassured her every single time, even if he felt his skin being torn again and again (when he look at it, he doesn’t recall the face of the new extractor he helped, but remembers another extractor from another time, with kind blue eyes and easy smile, who squinted at him while saying “it’s okay arthur” and kept reassuring him on his first ever try at the lines)

- a bullet scar near his left shoulder blade, at the edge of the lung border, which on cold days still makes his ribs hurt. it had nicked the heart, the scar running down to the cardiac muscle and arthur nearly had not survived that wound. but when a calloused hand grazes over it with gratitude and love seeping in, when strong arms envelope him, easing the pain in his ribs, he can’t regret the time he had stepped in to the line of fire shoving eames away, cause if he hadn’t, arthur knows he would not have survived the scar of having a half of his soul ripped out from him )

I don’t love when people try and use the “He’s just a little kid” argument for Cartman. Like, okay, sure he’s ten, but it’s still not excusable and also he has committed homicide. That is definitely not regular ten year old behavior.

Like, if he was just spitting on people and taking lunch money then there could be so arguments to be made for how children grow out of that behavior/blaming his enabling mother. But after a certain amount of felonies you have to consider that maybe he is a fictional character who is meant to be satirically irredeemable.

I wouldn’t mind so much except the people who make this argument are usually defending especially antisemitism, but also homophobia, transphobia, racism, sexism, ableism and everything else. Like why are you dying on the hill that Eric Cartman is just a kid? Makes you sound a little bit like you agree with him, even if you swear that you don’t.

And ending your post with “none of the other kids are perfect either.” Does not help your point. Nobody was saying that. You’re fighting a strawman. But just because nobody else is perfect doesn’t mean that Cartman is justified or better in anyway. This is using two common tactics in shitty debates, straw manning and using “what-about-ism” to point to the other side’s flaws to deflect from their own.

And I don’t dislike Cartman in the show. He is obviously the one of the most important characters, he defines most of the dynamics. I just think it’s so silly that people are like “stop calling Cartman bad, he’s just a little kid.” He is supposed to be satirically awful and defending him makes you look like you defend antisemitism and everything else. Again, even if you swear that you don’t.
