imagine waking up from sleep a little later than usual which causes you to stir out of bed, noticing that mingyu wasn't there which only made you assume that he went out for his morning gym runs. you find yourself rushing out of the bedroom since you were constraint on time. it was a long day ahead at work and you didn't have time to pack any proper lunch for yourself. the thought makes you sigh--you were running out of your protein bars and weren't even sure if you would be able to make it to get your daily morning coffee.

however when you enter the kitchen, your sleepy eyes widen in surprise to the sight of mingyu hunched over the kitchen counter, seemingly concentrated on doing something that you weren't able to make out of.

"gyu?" you call out his name lowly, rubbing at your eyes.

he immediately turns around to his name being called, face lighting up upon seeing your tired look. he turns his entire body around as if trying to shield what he was doing behind his back.

"what are you doing? i thought you went to the gym," you mutter as you trudge to retrieve a glass, filling it up with water and taking a few long sips.

mingyu grins. "had other important things to do then the gym."

"oh yeah? and what is that?" you say, leaning your head on the refrigerator as you attempt to gaze past him to see what he was hiding behind, but his large figure is quick to shield it away.

yet he brings himself in your direction, circling an arm around your waist and pulling you close as he leads you towards whatever he was doing on the counter. and when you look down, you swear nearly spit out your water.

your eyes lay upon a beige-coloured miniature bento box, filled with colourful steamed veggies and neatly sliced fruits, a small container of homemade dressing on the side, and perfectly sliced portion of grilled chicken and freshly cooked rice.

you feel your heart swell with warmth. "you... you made all this?"

he nods, still hugging you close. "of course. i wanted you to have a nutritious meal for work today. you know how tired i am of seeing you live on just protein bars and coffee?"

you chuckle at his words, letting your head relax against the comfort of his shoulder.

"thank you for this," you tell him, a relaxed smile to your face as you gaze up at him.

he presses a kiss to the top of your head, brushing a few strands of hair away from your face. "of course, baby. i gotta help you conquer the day somehow."

that was enough for your smile to grow even bigger.

when lunch time rolls around at your workplace, you eagerly take out mingyu's bento box from your bag and place it in front of you on the table. and when you open it, you also notice a small piece of paper hidden that you didn't see before, assuming that he had placed it in when you were getting ready early this morning.

hi love!! so, there's a few ways you can watch/listen!

On the KBS CoolFM YouTube channel! I think this is probably most useful/accessible to those of us outside of Korea, they simply go live every day much like the Station-Z 89.1 channel does. Their channel is here! (I'm also about to post the VOD of today's show so you can also just click that link as well hehe)

The KBS Radio web link! I've admittedly never used it, so I'm not sure how it all works, but it being a web link means it should be simple enough based on my brief research! You do have to login if you want to partake in commenting, but there is an option for signing up if you're a foreign listener, so all should be good. A direct link to listen however is here!

A last option is the KBS Kong app. It's available on your phone and on desktop (for both Windows & Mac!)! I've definitely never used this option, but I assume it works like most radio apps, in addition to having your new fancy KBS login if you don't already have one. If you want to download: Apple | Samsung | Desktop! Both mobile options do link to the US stores given I'm American, but searching KBS Kong on the app store should pull it up if it's available.

you're so overwhelmed with work and school and everything else going on in life. (i'm pausing every 3 words to put a hand over my mouth) you've been lying in bed for god knows how long, and not being able to fall asleep makes you even more stressed and tired. your brain just won't stop thinking. and dokyeom, your sweet sweet boyfriend notices that you keep tossing and turning in bed and when he asks you what's wrong, you just pour your heart out and tell him everything that's been going on. and this poor boy knew that you were stressed, but he didn't know it was to this extent and his heart breaks at seeing you this upset and (moment of silence for the author as they ascend for a moment). along with the words that are pouring out, so are your tears and he silently listens to you and wipes them away. at the end, he simply says 'that must have been really hard, sunshine. is there anything i can do for you?' and you ask him to just hold you until you fall asleep. and this man wastes NO TIME pulling you into his embrace.

your head is lying on his chest, his hand stroking your hair as his sweet voice fills and surrounds the air around you. the song he's singing sounds familiar, but you're too exhausted to try and guess what song it is, although you're pretty sure it's one of his own. dokyeom's singing combined with his soft touches slowly lulls you into sleep, and that night, you were able to sleep peacefully &lt;3

he hates seeing you so wilted on the living room couch, the colour drained from your face, and nothing but exhaustion evident in your expression all day long. he swears he hasn't seen your smile for the past two days since your period started, if he recalls correctly, almost as if a gloomy cloud has settled over you. he's never seen you look so burnt out.

pacing back and forth in the kitchen, he feels his mind race with uncertainty. he's always been a pro at dancing, choreographing, and making people laugh, but this is uncharted territory for him. he knows you've mentioned your period before, and he's aware of the basics, but seeing you in such discomfort brings out this determination to lessen your pain. even in the slightest.

finally, he grabs his phone and starts typing away, brows furrowed in concentration. he's googling things like how to help your girlfriend during her period and period remedies. his eyes narrow as he skims through different articles and websites.

then he takes a deep breath, trying to conquer his nervousness as he heads back to the living room and places himself down on the couch right next to you.

"okay, i've been doing some reading," he admits with a shy smile. "so, i learned that heat might help with the cramps. do you want me to get you a hot water bottle, or one of those, uh... heating pads?"

ugh. that sounds like heaven right now, you think. your cramps haven't felt this painful in a long itme.

"i think i have a heating pad in the bedroom that i haven't used in a bit," you tell him. "it should be in the second drawer on the bedside table."

soonyoung's eyes light up as he hears your response. "got it. i'll go grab it for you." and swiftly, he's on his feet and heading towards your bedroom.

he returns shortly, holding the heating pad carefully with both of his hands as if it's the most precious thing in the world.

sitting back on the couch beside you, he reaches over to push away the blanket from off your body. then gently, he places the heating pad on your abdomen and adjusts the settings to a comfortable level before bringing the blanket back over your body.

"how's that? does that feel okay?" he asks.

you feel a wave of warmth seep throughout your body, the soothing sensation bringing a sigh of relief from your lips.

"it's perfect, soonie, thank you," you say, giving him a faint smile.

his eyes soften as he watches you adjust your position, frowning from the little groan that leaves your mouth. he reaches over to grab your hand in his.

"i hate seeing you like this." he pouts.

you squeeze his hand reassuringly. "i know, soonie. but having you here makes it much better, honestly."

"can i ask for something though?"

you lift an attentive brow in his direction, cringing slightly from the wave of pain that hits you momentarily. "what is it?"

there's a small grin that crosses his lips. "smile for me, please? i miss it."

you let out a chuckle, appreciating his sweet request despite the discomfort. "you really want me to smile right now?"

"it's been two days, and i miss it," soonyoung assures. "and your smile is so pretty."

his words touch your heart, and you can't help but feel a surge of warmth despite the cramps. you take a deep breath, pushing through the pain to let a genuine smile grace your lips.

"better?"

there's a sparkle of satisfaction in his eyes as he leans in and places a soft, gentle kiss on your forehead. "much better. thank you."
