GREETINGS SIX... wait, one of those is just my main blog... FIVE ESTEEMED FOLLOWERS!

Some of you may remember my the hubristic claims I made earlier this year that I would participate in NaNoRenO on top of moving house...

Well, none of that happened BUT, depite STILL BEING IN THE PROCESS OF MOVING HOUSE OVER SIX MONTHS LATER (hmm... calm... cool grass... soft sheep), I have been slowly working on the project in between my games art job and last week finally stumbled on some delicious, unexpected free time to make an incredibly cursed meme and ALSO finally draw up a first draft of the main characters!

YES, they are currently nude (I gave them some flowers to protect their modesty because some of them wouldn't want their genitals broadcast on the internet and I treat my characters with some DAMN RESPECT) but I shall give them clothes all in good time and also coif their hair into impeccable period accurate updos (well, somewhat accurate...).

I also want to do some fun experimenting with different art styles. I thought that this semi-realistic style would be a good starting point to branch out from, though (though I would add a load of shading and stuff since they're currently just block colours underneath a sketch...).

Anway, yeah, the game is called Flowers of Blood and I hope that it's everything my fourteen year old weeby babybat self could have dreamed of! It will be full of queerness, gothic tropes, sexy vampires, mystery and romance!

I want to keep a sort of devblog here to record this process and I love looking at this sort of thing myself so maybe someone else will enjoy watching me trying to scramble together a game on my ownsome! :D Maybe someone wants to come and watch me crash and burn! Free schadenfreude :D

Just curious what the average level of personal investment in these sorts of things is. Like, how much do people usually get into silly stuff like this their friends ask of them? etc. etc. Which I know, only surveying a small sample on a very specific website means I'm not getting an exact average idea lol, but.. curious nonetheless .. Maybe reblog for bigger sample size but also this is not very serious at all/not worth a call to action gbhjbhjb

#which I know this could be context dependent like.. maybe you'd normally dress up but on a week that #you feel sick you wouldn't or etc. etc. - but I mean.. GENERALLY. in the most general average scenario #where you have the average amount of health and free time that you always do. etc. just based on your personality #and level of investment in these things - what on AVERAGE are you most inclined to do #also of course assume they communicate with you ahead of time and are not like planning a part last minute #like 'throw together costume in 5 hours and show up tonight randomly' or etc. I would hope that if we're going with the #AVERAGE of things - most people's friends have better communication skills than springing entire parties #on people last minute lol #assume you have like.. a few days-a week or so to prepare. however ealrly people usually start talking about #birthdays. In my experience it's usually one or two weeks ahead of time. Like 'oh next weekend' or 'oh two weeks from now' etc.#ANYWAY.. feeling a little Sick again of course but still trying to get some photos or something posted #AGAIN i promise I am not going to exlcusively post polls and ntohing else forever hgkjgnekj #I just really really love the ability to post polls and have always my whole life been obsessed with surveying people #I used to think I wanted to do that as a career somehow like.. be one of the people that does psychological interviews #or produce interview asessments for a company or etc. etc. I am always the one friend in the group thats giving out custom made #surveys or asking for other simialr stuff (did you ever take an mbti quiz? how about enneagra #m?? oh yeah I know they're not really scientifically valid or antyhing but like... I have a groundbreaking concept.

A wedding episode/story where nothing unusual goes wrong (or even NEARLY goes wrong) and the audience and characters both just get to enjoy this big event without it going off the rails at any point.

#this is not inspired by any particular case just by my general grumpiness with the way Wedding Episodes seem to pan out #i don't WANT something to go dramatically wrong! i don't want the wedding to be called off or end up cobbled together out of the wreckage!#this should be a great opportunity to show your characters' bonds and love for each other--both in the pairing and the community around the #also i just hate seeing people's hard work and plans wrecked and do you know how much work goes into a wedding??#i WANT to see the dress and the cake and the flowers and the reception that they worked so hard on actually come to fruition #but probably most of all and especially. weddings ARE supposed to be the start of a Happily Ever After and if you've done your job right #then the characters getting married should have MERITED that #the plot can continue after sure. but i want them to get One Nice Day for the start of their new life. marriage deserves celebration #and domesticity! marriage deserves the domesticity of an episode where everyone successfully enjoys a really nice party after the wedding!

I've been rewatching some of the episodes and im still wishy washy on whether or not I want to redesign all the characters but here's some recent and old character sketches!! I've been playing around with their designs but trying not to deviate too far so that the characters still look like who they're supposed to be

Idk if anyone would wanna see me redesign/rework every character but I'd post em if there were people who wanted to see that.

Here's the rundown for those who are interested:

My basic ideas for fairy tail are to make every character a fantasy trope/creature/class/myth. Some of the characters will change into a different thing over time as they gain experience. I feel like fairy tail has a lot of potential to write a more modern fairy tale type story because of the whole wizards and magic thing. With dragons and princesses n everything. This is obviously present in the story, but i really want to reinforce that idea. there are some characters who I think really fit this, like Erza (obvi main knight of the story but also has the title of titania queen of the fairies) and natsu (obviously dragon as an mc, sort of a role reversal of the evil dragon. and maybe a fun demonic plot twist haha). But with other characters i may need to make more changes. Lucy is a loose version of the princess (with a fun runaway backstory), but I want her to evolve into a priestess. Grey kinda has nothing going on for him imo, the ice wizard thing keeps throwing me off every time i try to project something onto him. I think i'll go with a hunter -> demon slayer thing. He just happens to use ice magic. i don't wanna go with regular wizard because thats a bit boring lmao. It would also make the elemental thing between natsu and grey funnier bcuz he's a spooky demon and that guys a hunter so you guys REALLY shouldnt get along. They do anyway because the power of friendship lol Anyways that's the basic plan? even if i dont post it on tumblr just know its cooking in the back of my head. thx for reading all this haha

Shinjiham is cute when it’s romantic but tbh I think i vastly prefer the idea of them being best friends instead. Like, neither of them really saw it coming and weren’t really looking to get another best friend (Shinji has Akihiko, Kotone has Junpei and Yukari respectively) but it happens anyway. Kotone takes a liking to Shinji much faster than she does anyone else and I’d say a big reason is just the fact that he’s so reserved that it allows Kotone to do most of the talking while he just listens and they love this arrangement cuz Kotone doesn’t get to talk about her own interests very much. Though I think some of her needs to talk to Shinji stems from this insecurity that he isn’t happy in the group and she has this people pleasing problem and wants everyone to be happy so she makes a much bigger effort to talk to Shinji. And it’s very unfortunate because Shinji intentionally acts cold and distant because he doesn’t want to form any attachments because he wants to die soon, but aaaaaaaagh dammit this girl just keeps talking to him and being sweet and encouraging him to engage in his interests and share them with the others and he just can’t seem to say no when she’s got those damn puppy eyes. And Kotone is just able to get him out of his shell by being persistent but not in an overwhelming way, she’s very cheerful and supportive of him. And Shinji is able to offer her support by encouraging her to talk about herself and by making sure she’s taking care of herself. They just click really well and make such a positive dent in each other’s lives and it’s all about basic acts of kindness going a long way you know?

#persona #persona 3 #kotone shiomi #shinjiro aragaki #i uh. probably didnt do much here to prove that their relationship is best when its platonic akjsks i mean idk how to convey it #that these two are just so good for each other but that im just not feeling it romantically #and why should i honestly like cant a guy and a girl just be platonic soulmates like me and jackie aljsks #plus i just have other ships with these characters i like better ahem akishinji and mitsuham yall already know #and i just feel really comforted by their relationship being best friends cuz it makes the pocket watch a lot more power of friendship #and it just. irks me the idea that its romantic love that saves shinji and its romantic love that gave him a will to live #cuz first off you can save him without romancing him and also like if you think kotone is the only person he wants to live for #youre just wrong like in fact its very clear in his social link that he feels this strong love for everyone #its literally like why other characters are so ingrained into his link he loves everyone and they love him back #its just kotone who organizes the time for them all to get together plus like idk when ppl say shinji only wants to live after romancing #kotone its like. well hes not gonna have a good time post coma then huh #and i suppose the point being made is he has to learn to live even if his gf isnt there but again like. shes not the only thing he has #idk i just hate this like pedestal romantic relationships are put on and i hate the implications that like #akihiko has been trying for years to protect shinji and his love doesnt matter cuz it isnt some heterosexual romance #grrrrr it just irks me is all and yeah i just think theyre besties who do everything together #kotone is like shinjis emotional support animal that guides him through the scary crowds and shinji is off putting enough to scare away the #meanies that come their way and they have a dress up montage and make cookies

#yea um these are my 100% original charaters their names are uhhh. thomas and jimmy. do not steal #(not actually their names they dont have any)#I should give them names I've just been referring to them as king and lionheart. bc that is the song im using lol #i mean lionheart works as a name (warriorcatcore) but king not really. ive also been calling him little baby or the baby :) bc hes a baby #and yes they are both blonde + the dad has green eyes and golden armor -_- whatever #theres also another guy i call him knight dude. and the villain who I call evil villain. my creativity knows no bounds #ok I dressed the kid in blue istead of red that's different enough right #stayed up till 4 am to finish as much of the rough animatic as I could like oh shit I havent done enough 😥 theyre gonna be mad at me :(#then I found out I did the most out of everyone in my class lol. opsie #when i share the final thing. just imagine it as jaime's wish fullfilment fanfic. it's funnier that way
