took me until today to figure out there was a purpose to the edge on the beater (shuttle race) AND what type of shuttles i had bought on ebay (flying shuttles) and also how to use them. i then put all of this knowledge together to fuck up my selvedge spectacularly lmfao

#the shuttle race thing helped me figure out my harnesses are a little too high i think #and even tho i havent rly been able to throw them bc i was also attempting to use the flying shuttles as intended #and its not working very well for whatever reason (i mean its bc i wound them badly. absolutely that is why) #it still speeds up weaving a lot #bc id been putting the shuttle on my weaving in between picks to straighten the weft #so thats cool info to have #on the other hand it has become increasingly clear that my 'good enough' brake system is garbage #but like. i do NOT know how to fix it #anyway also worked a little on the warping board today. ordered some non-dubious-antique-ebay-shuttles #and did a ton more weaving #am now nearly done with my very misshapen scarf lol #weaving #4 harness floor loom
