Why do you expect so much from me?

You groan, trying to resist the urge to bang your head against the wall for what felt the thousandth time today. Your brain remained relentless pulling you down into its currents of torments but somehow you still prevailed despite it all. Your fingers continued tapping along your keyboard, eyes making no sense of the words that continue bluring along the screen.

It hurts, the longer your brain thinks, but you try, how you try to stop the doubt crawling in inch by inch. You let out a sigh, wanting to scream, give up, but that's not an option, it can't be you've come to far to crash and burn it all like this. So you groan, pushing yourself back from the desk, pacing back and forth.

Sherlock comes in, noticing you going back and forth, bottled up fury, oozing from you like a volcano on the verge of eruption. The twisting of your face, fingers digging into your hair, made something inside him twinge, his eyes softening, but he didn't know how you'd react. It was after all, a test of some sort, but he knew he didn't want to get burned, least of all by you.

“What is it, what do you want?” You can’t help the bite of your words the stinging sensation burning behind your eyes. Couldn’t you do anything right? Let alone not snap at the one person who made your life not a living hell?

He doesn’t say a word, pulling you in his arms, extinguishing your flame, coolness evaporating around you, making the world feel okay it all seemed less….scary and cruel, you could think clearer unworried about the future in that moment.

Only for a moment.

It can’t last forever now can’t it? Your cruel mind taunts, daring to pull you further down, burying it claws inside you, bringing you six feet under and back again.

Hands reach up into your hair, stroking it softly, as he urges you away from your office and up to your shared room. Wordlessly, he lays you down under the covers, carefully easing himself on top of you, head resting against yout chest murmuring encouragement, whispering sweet nothings you so craved deep down but never spoke of.

You need him, just him. Soon enough, you find your mind wandering, filled with thoughts of him as you siently begin playing with his curls, tugging them gently, a much needed distraction along with his steady breathing.

Your fingers in his curls has him melting and calms your mind. You're here. You're safe, the thoughts of failure, failure, failure, slowing down in your mind the more you begin to stay present, taking in your surroundings desperately trying to ground yourself to this. To enjoy the the temporary subsiding of your raging brain.

Oh how you wish you could throw it out make it new again and renew it all. Day by day is all it takes. But for now, you take it in kind, one kiss along your jawline, as he presses into you more. Soft whimpers fall from his lips, your thumb tracing along his jawline, hand caressing his face as he falls into you, nuzzling your neck, placing silent reverent kisses along it and you lean into him.

“Sherlock…” his name is like a prayer upon your lips and he continues in kind, soft feather light giving way to a deeper hunger. When his lips hover along your own, you sigh, tugging his curls gently wrapping your arms around his neck falling harder, further, into them, wanting needing more of this, more of him.

He kisses you deeper, full of desperation, silent whimper falling from him, admiring you, he can’t get enough. “Perfect, that’s right…” the kisses of his own fall back along your neck, enjoying your ministrations, pressing them along your collarbone, murmuring softer to himself.

You can’t fathom why your mind could think of anything beyond this, but it filled you with something more of joy rather than the dread following you for weeks. All you could ever ask for is for more nights like this, Sherlock in your arms for nothing felt more right than this moment.

It's okayyyy 💀 I had the most embarrassing experience last weekend and I still haven't recovered 😭

ANYWAYS REONSEMISHIRA FIRST DATE HCS LET'S GO!!!

- Let's start off with the fact that Shirabu is FREAKING OUT

- He's never done this before, someone help this child 💀

- He's flipping his shit

- He spends his first half of high school pining over these dudes that are literally in a relationship (with each other!) and they just asked him out and now he's going on a date with them 😱

- Taichi's watching this go down with utter enjoyment

- Reon and Semi aren't too much better 💀

- "Do I look okay?" "Do you think he'll like what we have planned?" "Should we get him flowers? Or chocolate? A card?" "Why would we get him a card? It's not his birthday." "Cards aren't just for birthdays, Eita, you himbo."

- They're trying their best

- All three need to collectively get their shit together 💀

- They pick him up at his dorm 😩

- How romantic 🤧

- At least it would have been if Taichi hadn't been the one who answered the door 😭

- Shirabu comes to the door looking like an angel

- "Heyyyyyy...You guys look like you're gonna pee yourselves." "Wow, thanks Kawanishi, we really appreciate it." "Where's Shirabu at?" "He's getting his life together, here I'll get him. KENJIRŌ YOUR BOYFRIENDS ARE HERE-"

- Semi and Reon are already blushing like "Omg boyfriends 😳🥴😩"

- Reon and Semi are already mapping out their wedding

- Shirabu happily greets them and Taichi (not so peacefully) waves them off

- Taichi can basically hear the church bells from where he's standing 💀

- Shirabu's foaming at the mouth cuz omg they are h o t

- "BYEEE, HAVE FUUUUN! BE BACK BY NINE! DON'T TALK TO STRANGERS! I LOOOOOVVVVE YOU KENJI-" "SHUT UP TAICHI!"

- After the very embarrassing send off, Shirabu finally feels the nerves calm a slight bit due to the others' presence

- They walk to their date because yeah, it's just better that way

- They take him to a cute little diner that Reon really likes <3

- It's retro and cute cuz I said so 🙄

- They all sit down and the waiters all know Semi and Reon by name???

- That's kinda funky

- "Do you guys know these people..?" "Oh! We just come here often. It's kind of like our special place where we get away from the team, heh."

- THEY TOOK HIM TO THEIR SPECIAL SPOT

- HE MIGHT JUST CRY IN THE BATHROOM WHAT

- They all agreed not to tell the team immediately (with the exception of Taichi, he would find out one way or another anyway) so that being a fact made Shirabu even more nervous.

- He better not blow this chance that he has or he might just jump off a cliff 🤡😍

- Semi and Reon are freaking out too tho ngl

- They never even considered adding onto their relationship EVER until Shirabu came along. I mean the level of shock when they both confessed to each other that they liked Shirabu too was through the roofs.

- And now they're on a date with him, they better do this right 😩

- During a stare down between Semi and Shirabu Reon just quietly pays the bill, not wanting them to argue over it anymore

- "Lord, what am I going to do with the both of you? 😮‍💨😪"

- They've been on only one date that included all of them and they already sound like they've been married for 10 years

- On the way back home they hold hands <3

- They even notice that it's getting late and that curfew for STZW was soon so they all had to sprint back to the school 💀

- That was a fun experience

- The closer they get to Shirabu's dorm the more they dread the end of the date. They had so much fun (plus they wanna hang out with their new boo 😪)

- But they've only had one date, and they agreed to take things the proper way for Shirabu's heart's sake

- "Well..here we are..."

- Shirabu looks down the halls before hugging them both 😭

- "I had a lot of fun. Thank you for taking me out."

- They quickly return the thanks for a good time and also for coming

- They even give Shirabu two kisses on his head 😪

- Once Shirabu goes inside he gets in comfy clothes before immediately rushing to Taichi to spill EVERYTHING

- Semi and Reon spend the night kissing and giggling like high school girls about their date with Shirabu. It was like they were in their first year again I swear 😭

- They're so cute, I swear ReonSemiShira is what keeps my heart beating

Lights on or off?- lmaooo uh... i think ben would prefer the lights off he's all self conscious 😪

Who does what chores?- ben likes to organize so he can clean and can at least prep dinner if not cook it. they can trade off on laundry and chase can do the dishes

Who gets babied when they’re sick?- look in nurturing ben is a Catch he will baby the shit out of chase i'm talking soup i'm talking meds i'm talking massaging away the aches and pains i'm talking spending time in comfy silence while chase rests

Who makes breakfast?- i think they can both do this depending on who wakes up first

Where would they go on their honeymoon?- canada 😘

What are their quirks while sleeping?- i don't think they do anything out there, just some cute cuddles and pillow talk

What is their favorite activity as a family?- hmmm gardening? board game nights? high movie nights?

Who is the stricter parent?- it's definitely ben. chase will be the cool dad and ben will be the cool dad who enforces the curfew

Who would be the big spoon?- they can switch off bc i think they both love being the little spoon, if chase insists ben will suck it up and be the big spoon more often tho. unless chase wants to be the big spoon then ben will gladly be little

Who would wake up first?- probably ben? he usually wakes up early unless he was up Really late. plus chase is a morph kid i feel like ben has the natural advantage here

Do they have nicknames for each other?- i can picture chase giving ben some cute pet names 😚

What happened when they met each other’s parents?- ben has no parents for this one and... i'm gonna be honest i don't remember chase's parental situation but if there's someone to meet ben will be on he best behavior he will be the perfect gentleman

How do they apologize after an argument?- ben definitely apologizes first and tries to see where chase is coming from as soon as he cools off, i think chase is more stubborn but he'd also come around soon enough

What would they be like as parents?- i can't imagine either of them ever raising their voice at their kids.... it'd be a lot of stern talking to's when they need to discipline, otherwise they are the really chill dads who let their kids be free spirits. super protective and very big on being very emotionally honest bc lord knows that's the only way these two made it far enough to have kids 😅

Who is the better cook?- ben doesn't really cook a lot but when he does he is very meticulous about the recipe so for that reason only i'll say him

Who is more romantic?- i think they're both very romantic in different ways? i think at first it would be ben bc he is lowkey a big sap, he'd sing for chase and arrange these little surprise dates 😌but i feel like they'd feed off of each other and wind up being equal in this regard

What sort of gifts do they get for each other?- really cute, sentimental gifts that usually have some reference to something that they experienced together or that one of them mentioned liking

Who gets jealous easiest?- i think it might be ben just because chase is more chill abt that kind of thing

Who gets more excited for events? (e.g. birthdays, christmas…etc)- chase definitely, he gets so pumped to see friends and have a big love fest w everyone

Who is the most adventurous?- definitely chase, he's bringing them out to all kinds of cool new places

Who is the most protective?- oooh tbh i think they'd both be pretty protective, but ben definitely would step in and get angrier faster if someone was fucking with his man

What would they have been like as childhood sweethearts?- they would be that really shy couple that are like, together but they're so nervous about it? mostly jokes and hanging out that just turns into kissing sometimes. really intense feelings they try to step around most of the time bc they're too young to figure out this emotional intimacy thing

god yeah ALL of that can you imagine. just the absolute care. not to mention how much fixing there would be on a moral, ethical standpoint, less white savior more actual confrontation of what this allegorically all means. more in depth looks at cultures of the downworlders. maia esp makes me sad bc in the beginning they used her like an ace in the hole like at least we can make maia angry but she was so much more than that?? and anything they gave her would just immediate disssolve. imagine 😪

oh absolutely!!!!!!!! instead of constantly having them be the white saviours we could have actually had the poc be the ones saving their own people, considering downworlders were mainly played by poc. i will never ever ever forgive them for trying to make maia the bad guy in a lot of storylines, when she was honest to god right about everything all the time, her character was nuanced because she was the only character to think critically and overlook her emotional connection to things while at the same time being allowed to feel those emotions and express them. the scene where she gets to scream at jordan to leave her alone and let her be angry is one of my favorite scenes of her because she just got to be a person, not a character whose reaction was to move a plot forward, but just a person being angry and hurt. but then again we are talking about how much the writers fucked this up. imagine if all the characters of color got to just be emotional and loud... we could have had such a rich world of different views. like i hate how the selies are presented, here you have a group of amazing creatures, who don’t lie but deceive people, who protect themselves more than anyone because they believe in just their own loyalty, they are all cool as hell and weren’t afraid to tell the shadowhunters to go fuck themselves, and yet they were shown in a very negative light???? like they were cool as hell, and stood their ground against shadowhunters, to me honestly it was very clear that they were better than shadowhunters adn they knew it, they shadowhunters had nothing on them but they would still let them act like they were superior, but still they weren’t afraid to tell them how stupid they were dshfoiash and honestly the fact that a group of people, who weren’t nice to people they didn’t trust because of years of said group of people treating them like shit, were presented as mean and selfish... doesn’t sit right with me.

it like really hits you how they thought all these poc/dw needed to help the “heroes” and if they didn’t they were bad??? like im sorry????? it’s very telling. very telling.

also can i just say that the scene that showed me how little they cared about letting characters of color just be as complex as yt characters was when maia killed the blonde vampire girl whose name i dont remember, after she had killed maia’s entire pack, and simon told her that killing the blonde bitch made her just as bad as her????? HUUUUUHH??? COME AGAIN???? I DID NOT JUST HEAR YOU SAY MAIA GETTING REVENGE OVER HER FAMILY BEING MURDERED WAS THE SAME AS SAID FAMILY BEING BRUTALLY MURDERED I DID NOT JUST HEAR YOU SAY THAT TO A BLACK WOMAN... it really showed how they viewed their characters of color
