Watching Cinderella story when I was an autistic child who barely understood what lots of turns of phrases meant was really something. Like I had virtually no idea what was going on when Carter left his house and said goodbye to his dad, I vaguely heard the line ‘knock em dead’ and I thought it meant his mother was dead because she was mentioned in the previous sentence and she’s never seen in the movie

#also I didn’t know what was meant by him ‘totalling’ his dad’s cars #just woefully trying to understand what that conversation was about and failing…#+they were talking pretty fast I think #i watched it a lot of times too so I had some of if memorised but wrongly because I didn’t hear or understand what they said #eg ‘diet coke. And Hector should have been in seventh heaven. What he could only pray for as a child, he was being showered with at long last. Hector was different. He was special, one of a kind, the purest expression of Hell’s power in a human. Hector was able to withstand his Lord’s insisting touch, that slid off him like cold oil poured down his back, for the chance of hearing those words that tasted like salvation for all the sins he had committed.

It nearly made the night terrors worth it.

Lord Dracula would have no reason to tell him those things if he didn’t mean them. Even though, a few times, Hector thought that the Lord could spare some mercy for Isaac’s best efforts.
