Back from Comic Con and giving myself a much needed day of rest! Even so the first thing I wanted to do was add some tasty graphics to this AMAZING piece @thegunnsara made for me!
With their permission I was allowed to make their artwork into a guest cover. Wasn't able to update this past week so figured this would be a nice little stand in. Will be resting and finishing up the last of my zines as well this week, but I'll try to get back onto updating asap since I'm really excited for what's coming up in Replica. Comic Con, as exhausting as it is, always manages to get me excited for doing more artwork! Buckle up people!

Course Reflection
The most graphic design experience I have had was drawing my best friend’s student council election posters in high school. At the time, I found design to be something that came naturally to me- It was fun and easy creating the posters, and I was satisfied to see my work pay off by having my best friend win the campaign. However, after designing a voting poster for the AIGA, my perspective regarding graphic design has evolved. Arts 102 has shown me that graphic design is both more than and exactly what meets the eye- Making a singular element like color and typeface have the potential to affect the entire outcome of a work. Graphic design requires a great deal of skill, attention to detail, and creativity, and though I still have a lot to gain an understanding of, my high school self was right about one thing: Graphic design is fun to learn and create, making it a creative medium I am very passionate about.
Before arts 102, I had never recognized how much graphic design permeates my day-to-day life. My curiosity about this medium inspired me to take this class and give graphic design a try- And I couldn't be happier that I did. This class used technology to bring creative ideas to life, creating an engaging, challenging, and memorable experience. Arts 102 is a class of action and interaction, making me do more than learn about design- but become a designer myself. Learning to use various Adobe programs has been a valuable skill because it is practical and could be utilized in fields beyond graphic design. I also found that what I have learned in class diffuses into other creative aspects of my life, such as increasing my proficiency in creating digital art (something that has always challenged me). One of my favorite aspects of this class was how interactive it was- Had I learned about graphic design through any other means, such as being self-taught or participating in an online class, my experiences would not have been recreated. Having group feedback and doing class critiques was an immensely enriching learning experience, as it helped guide me and my peers into creating our best possible work. Receiving one-on-one feedback with Professor Khalili was greatly insightful in guiding my creations and my growth as a designer, opening my eyes to details in my work that I may have not noticed otherwise. Additionally, getting to know Professor Khalili outside of class has been wonderful- She is an inspiration, and I loved getting to know her both creatively and personally. I’m very grateful to have her as my professor, and she has been fantastic at introducing graphic design in a fun, interactive, and impactful way. I love stepping out of my creative comfort zone and learning about new artistic mediums, and I can’t imagine any better way to start learning about graphic design than arts 102.
Thank you to my arts 102 classmates and Professor Khalili for the wonderful semester!

Can you tell us what you have learnt a LOT from each art request you’ve done? This could be fun to read :D
Hello ^^ Sorry for he late reply hehe. I didn't know what to say. What do I learn? From the process itself? From the people that requested art? What I learned from my art? For my art? About my art? If my answer is weird or anything, feel free to ask a more specific question :3 I don't bite... usually XD I think what I learn each time I draw... Is that I need more patience. Like... more, a lot more patience. I keep rushing the pictures and end up staying in my comfort zone. Not focusing on details, because.... I am lazy af. I take like 3-5 hours per picture. The longest I've ever taken for a picture was ten hours in one day. I'm trying to take longer, but I get really lazy half way through XD Also I am bad at procrastinating. Kinda. I always want to have stuff done right away. This can be different, if a person asks for multiple requests. Then I procrastinate with a random limit. I think I did one after a year or smth. Not that I get many requests XD I just spend a lot of time on them. And it's still not enough. Time = quality in my case. (I need better time management. I spend all my free time drawing, writing and/or watching stuff lmo.) The thing I love about requests is that people tend to ask for animals and cuddles mostly :D It gives me the opportunity to challenge myself to do better, without worrying too much about the motives :D And without leaving my comfort zone entirely. Things I focus to improve on are always random. often it's anatomy and faces. Mostly faces though. But depending on the picture also clothing design (folds and stuff), Sometimes I really randomly wanna do backgrounds. Sometimes it's composition or character interaction. Whatever I focus on is likely to be the best developed part of the picture. The most detailed or has the most color and lighting effects and stuff like that. It's an unconscious thing, but it's funny to notice. When I upload a sketch, I usually focus on the idea itself more than it's development. Or line art. (I have never practiced line art digitally, rip me, I hate it.) When I post grayscale, then I was focusing on values. If I post a full color picture, it's mostly the vibe I'm going for. If the line strokes are bold and big, I was very impatient. If they are small and thin, then I probably abused my graphic tablet. I keep making the same layering mistakes XD I use the overlay layerin krita a lot, too. That's how I make the glowy effects. I love glowy effects.... which you wouldn't notice... at all *cough * Honestly... that's all I have to say to that. There is a lot I learn. But it's very specific art stuff that I can't fully describe, because it's mostly muscle memory related. You learn art by watching things and breaking them down into shapes. Anyone can do it, really. About anything. At least what I do. I've seen art that is so specific and wild that I have no idea how they can do it. I just do fanart sometimes, there is a big difference. I just happen to do art a lot more recently, because it's entertaining? I'm weird. I rather spend 10 hours staring at a screen and scratching the surface to make some random internet person happy, than play a game or do stuff that are actually fun XD I am, however, patient with myself. If my head requires a break, I can be strangely kind and forgiving. I know most artist start feeling bad. But like... art block is actually the constant state of mind. The motivated part is much more rare. And you cannot force it. That's why I try to keep myself content with my work as much as possible. So that I am happy to return to my work space :) I hope this answered some of your questions ^^ Feel free to ask more. :)

Just curious, what do you learn in college?? Since I see you mention you're in an art school. I want to go there when I finish high school so any advice?? I love your art and I just want to be as good as you in the future as well ✨️
Hi hi! Yes I do and I am suffering every second of it 🥰
Just kidding! I love doing what I do in school, I get to learn tons of new stuff and step out of my comfort zone! I am currently taking Visual Communication since I'm aiming to work in ad agencies (or just an in-house designer for any companies) in the future!
Here's the thing though, art school doesn't actually teach you to draw from scratch. You have to know the fundamentals like how to draw and basic design knowledge if you want to have an okay time in school because most classes I had they expect us to have a basic knowledge on certain mediums and software. I struggled in my first semester because idk how to use Adobe Illustrator (which is actually so funny to me since most of my artwork are lineless and looked vector) and I cried because I cant figure out how to use the fuckin pen tool. I am okay with using AI now though after being forced to use it for 2 years but I still prefer PS and InDesign over any other day. I admit that I have an easier time at school as oppose to my classmates because while they entered art school right after graduating high school (public schools here deemed art to be unimportant and it's common that the timeslot for art class is used as replacement class for other subject so students graduating from public school almost learn art through self studies), I came from an art vocational school and also went to a private uni for graphic design briefly so I have a bit of prior experience unlike my classmates just started tinkering into digital media in art school.
Experience may vary from countries and schools but from what I can gather and generalize from my experience being in art school for 2 years, if you can afford being in an art school, can afford to pour your time in school, passionate about your craft and want to pursue working in the creative industry, please totally go for it! You don't only learn how to draw but also learn how to organises your work and prep your work for professional settings! For example idk shit about printing and packaging before going to school and it sounded like a minor thing here sure but there's much more logic and black magic fuckery that goes behind the scene to make a single magazine (look up reader vs printer spread!). I get to learn tons a cool stuff about mass production and making designs for those purposes. You don't get to know those things through self-learning. Art school has taught me a lot on how to design for others to see and perceive and not just for me and I just think this is neat for me especially when I always want to make cool ads for people.
Hopefully this doesn't sound too complicated and deter you from being in art school (especially when all i do these days is moaning about wanting school to be over. Im just burnt out tbh lol but i swear i love what im doing in school lol). I hope you get to make a good choice for yourself and whatever you pursue in the future will be good for you💕💕💕

3) CypherDen
Why I personally chose her as one of the animators shortlisted for my project
Her animation and art style really stood out to me, and her openly explaining about variations in her styles is because she wants to try new things and mediums without just sticking to one as well really spoke to me, as I relate to that a lot. I was trying to just find a certain "art style" for the longest time but ended up on exploring various styles and mediums in an attempt to push to my furthest inner potential - which I'm still working on everyday as I try different styles and aesthetics ranging from traditional to digital forms. I also feel connected with her animations and character designs of herself as I've always loved drawing cartoony and cute styles as well instead of a lot of realistic art especially drawing humans (one reason also being that I still struggle with perfecting anatomy and also preferring more other styles).
I found CypherDen while doing my research on animators out there, and instead of all the biggest names everyone's reallyy familiar with, I came across her Youtube channel and was instantly hooked from the first few videos I watched itself. I think her cute animations starring herself in a form of visual storytelling of her life experiences and such with voiceovers is really fun and creative rather than just like a video filming herself while she talks and it's also entertaining. Her character designs (mostly of herself in various styles and outfits) and sketches are really amazing too.
I feel like I could relate to her as well as a young girl being hesitant but taking up a challenge to try out animations, fueled with her love for drawing - which is also exactly what I did in a way as I left school after my O/Ls while I was studying for my A/Ls at the same time (still am) and joining university to further enhance my skills and learn about design ; specifically Motion Graphics and Animation right now - which I had many doubts in the beginning to pursue but I did want to go with the flow and not be stuck in just my bubble space. Although it is very nice to be in your comfort zone but it's also good at the same time to take up challenges in your life since you never know what your true potential might hold - which CypherDen did as well as she took up animation and how far she came with having that mindset is really inspiring.

My Journey as an Inspired Artist
Tumblr media
As a child, I was always fascinated by the watercolor paintings that hung on the walls of our home in Colombia. My father is an abstract watercolor painter, and his work always seemed to transport me to a different world. I remember sitting beside him as he painted, watching as the colors blended together and created something entirely new. His work is something he created by himself, he calls it “cosmic explosion” and is inspired by Colombian magical realism and the universe. His passion for art was infectious, and it inspired me to explore my own creativity.
As I grew older, my interests began to shift towards graphic design. I grew up around advertising agencies and art galleries because of my parents' work and I was captivated by the way that designers could use typography, color, and imagery to convey a message or tell a story. I started to teach myself the basics of design and began to experiment with different tools and techniques. I started using design programs as a hobby and that ended in one of my passions. I also began to research the work of some of the best graphic designers in the world, like Paula Scher and David Carson, who continued to inspire me with their unique approaches to design.
In addition to graphic design, I also discovered a passion for fine line tattoo art. I was drawn to the intricate details and delicate lines that characterized this style of tattooing. I began to study the work of artists like Dr. Woo, Geri Sykaj and pure.ttt, who were known for their mastery of this technique.I have also had the opportunity to get tattooed and to meet local Colombian artists and talk with them, which has inspired me to take up this art as a possible hobby in the future. Their work inspired me to learn more about the art of tattooing and to begin practicing my own skills.
For the past five years, creating branding designs has been my primary focus as an artist. I enjoy using CorelDraw and Illustrator to create unique designs that represent a company's values and identity. I often incorporate my love of drawing and painting into my designs, which allows me to create a more organic and personalized feel. I am always on the lookout for inspiration, and I find that social media platforms like Pinterest and Behance are a great way to discover new and innovative design ideas.
I am self-taught when it comes to using design programs, and I have relied heavily on YouTube tutorials to learn the ins and outs of CorelDRAW and Illustrator. This has allowed me to experiment with different design techniques and styles, and I am constantly learning and improving my skills. I also work with my parent's advertising agency, which has given me valuable experience in the field of branding and graphic design.
As an artist, I enjoy challenging myself by experimenting with different styles of art. One style that I have recently fallen in love with is zentangle art. The intricate patterns and designs are both relaxing and challenging to create, and I find that they allow me to explore my creativity in new and exciting ways. Another style that I have tried is acrylic pouring, which involves pouring layers of paint onto a canvas to create a unique and abstract design. This technique is very different from what I am used to, but I enjoy the unpredictability and excitement that comes with creating each piece. Finally, I have also tried my hand at wood burning. This is a technique that involves burning designs onto a piece of wood using a special tool. It is a very precise and detailed process, and it has pushed me to focus on the smallest details and nuances of each design.
Overall, I believe that trying new art styles is a great way to challenge myself and step outside of my comfort zone. It allows me to continue growing as an artist and explore new techniques and mediums that I may not have otherwise considered.
As I continue on my artistic journey, I am grateful for the inspiration and guidance that my father and these artists have provided me with. They have taught me to approach art with passion, curiosity, and a willingness to take risks.
My ultimate goal is to become a complete graphic designer, with a strong foundation in both branding and other aspects of design. I am excited to continue to explore different techniques and styles, and I am confident that my passion for design and dedication to learning will help me to achieve my goals. I look forward to the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead as I continue to grow and evolve as an artist.

I've been really into graphic design lately and I want to start! do you have any tips?
Hey, thanks for asking, I guess I do have some tips
• For absolute beginners I'd recommend first looking into graphic programs and finding the best fit for what you want to create - the adobe cloud is great but to start out there are many free alternatives. If you're into drawing as well I'd recommend checking out Procreate.
• Study the basics - e.g. look at the difference between vectors and pixel graphics, file formats (jpg vs png vs tiff etc.), look up different methods to cut out images as it's something you'll probably need at some point, and maybe also have a look at recent design or color trends (that's always fun, too). Also advisable as a beginner is to study general do's and don'ts (for example working with text, website design or layouting have some clear rules for what works and what doesn't - most people already have a sense of aesthetic but it's always a good idea to prevent creating some graphic design is my passion meme stuff, see r/crappydesign or the likes).
• If you want to create with the intention of publishing your works effectively on certain platforms (like Instagram) it's always clever to look up which formats work best (1080x1080 is standard square for Instagram for example). If you want to create wallpapers look up common sizes and set up your canvas accordingly.
• Find inspiration and ideas - of course you need at least a rough idea about what you want to create. I for example love all things 80s, so for inspiration I look up 80s media, technology, fashion etc. to find things I could incorporate in my designs (e.g. patterns, color schemes, shapes, fonts etc.). An amazing platform for this is Pinterest of course, but I also frequently use unsplash.com (free to use gorgeous photography that you can use right away for your designs), youtube (for tutorials mainly) and lots of tumblr blogs.
•  If you want to use photos make sure you know about copyright and fair use - platforms like Pinterest mostly feature copyrighted images, so never just use an image without considering this. Always ask first and give credit.
•  Watch lots of tutorials - in the beginning I had no idea about the capabilities of graphic programs and was often wondering how artists were able to create certain things. So of course you need to learn somehow and watching tutorials on youtube is a great way to do so. It’s also fun to just look through random design tutorials until the algorythm shows you something you really like and want to recreate or use for your own works. Like this I also learned lots of basics (advanced working with layers, clipping masks, transparency, layer styles, filters and all kinds of photoshop tools).
• Familiarize yourself with the graphic program of your choice. Check out which tools are available and try to use them. Experiment with shapes, brushes, text, gradients, etc. Set up your workplace according to your needs and look through all options, settings and tabs to see what your possibilities are. Play around with a photo and try to edit the hell out of it. Like this you’ll probably already find some tools or settings that inspire you and ways you might want to incorporate them into your designs.
• Recreate and adopt. Recreating artworks that inspire you or designing along tutorials is the best way to learn in my opinion, as it is with drawing as well. As you learn new techniques you can begin to incorporate more and more of them into your own artworks, your drafting process will change as you’re able to consider more ways to reach your design goal, and you will also gain lots of new inspiration as well. When I discovered the possibilities of layer mixing I began designing with them in mind and just playing around yielded some amazing results; I made note of my favourite styles and now am frequently using them in my designs.
• Draft and save inspiration. I always carry my sketchbook around and doodle things when I have a few minutes of time or when inspiration hits me. You often see things in the real world that strike you as interesting, so make sure you don’t forget about them later when you want to design. This can be posters, flyers or other design works but also nature, people, clothes, etc. Taking written notes also works great for me. For collecting inspiration online I mostly use Pinterest (create artboards for specific aesthetics and pin all images that fit and inspire you in some way so you can look them up later as reference), but I also have lots of bookmarks neatly organized to save images that aren’t on pinterest. I never just copy and save on my computer because I might not know who to credit later.
• Refine your own aesthetic, polish your artworks and take challenges. Try to design outside of your comfort zone (I’m really not a fan of working with Adobe Illustrator for example but need it a lot for my job so I decided to use it more at home for my own art and am now quite fond of some of the tools) and challenge yourself - e.g. you can try to design within a certain decade’s aesthetic, participate in online design challenges, ask for requests from friends or followers, etc. Keep up with design trends (especially if you’re planning to sell your artworks in some way at some point).
• Less is more. Edit edit edit. Something I still struggle with given that the 80s aesthetic I love always screams more is more. Train your abstraction ability (making pixel art or super minimalist things is a great way to practice). Learn what an artwork / layout / website etc. really needs and what can be scrapped. Don't be afraid of blank spaces. Never bedazzle just for the sake of filling space.
That’s all I can think of right now, hope this helps ♡ if you have questions about specific things you can always hit me up.

You, Boun, Ninja and Taxi were my inspo for doing character designs, though I have to ask, what was the logic of the fashion you gave when interpreting the skins back at like 2013/2014? I could never figure out how to get that 2010s mcyt aesthetic of designs.
i’m gonna put this here for future reference: i do not want to answer asks that mention taxey. so if anyone else had sent in an ask involving her i probably deleted it and will continue to delete them, sorry.
but you tickled a bit of my rambling bones because i do like to talk, and she is part of what happened (i will hereby refer to her as T); so here we go.
i think you can separate my designs into two eras: before-T and after-T. before T came around, my designs interpreted the skins pretty literally. here’s bodil, here’s sky/ty/mitch/jerome, here’s bashur, and here’s jason.
my explanation on this: i was 13 and didn’t really like challenging myself. i’m pretty sure i took jason’s design from dopier, for example. so i took the easy way route out on a lot of things!
but most notably, i didn’t want to draw complicated designs like sky’s. so the answer was very simple and clear: obviously, put it onto a sweater! i’m sure it was originally meant to be armor, but i didn’t want to draw armor. that’s too much thinking, too much highlighting, and i just wanted to pump out fanart for what i liked.
i didn’t like drawing checkerboards, so i switched them to lines.
i didn’t want to draw an anthro, so i just made it into a bear hat ala michael (i’m pretty sure this bear-type hat was more prominent in 2014, but it seems to have been simplified into just a hoodie with bear ears?).
i didn’t want to draw a humanoid watermelon nor did i even know where to begin with that, so i just drew bashur’s skin as a human and mirrored the design onto his hair and everything else was kept similarly.
it’s what happened with jason’s design - remember his astronaut-y outfit? yeah, i changed it to a hoodie shortly afterwards with an astronaut-y print. hated drawing that shit, challenging yourself is dead.
so in early 2014 (i came to the realization that i actually didn’t draw mcyt in 2013; i started drawing it in 2014), honestly just look at the skins you want to interpret and go with the simplest possible outcome. the end.
however, if you’re talking a bit later with the more unique designs - there was one notable thing that happened that caused it.
T.
see, i was a cranky little 14 year old child who got way too much attention. and with that attention came people copying my art - and one of them was T.
i was highly uncomfortable at the time because, well, when you’re 14 you want to be unique as possible; you wanna stand out. and i was the only one who drew mcyt in this vaguely anime style way (because it wasn’t minecraft). and because we were all fucking weebs i assume people just started copying my art style wholesale.
see, people would mistake me for T. and vice-versa. i was extremely unhappy with this bullshit. “why are people mistaking me for this person,” i thought very unhappily to myself. and because i didn’t want to change my bloody art style, i decided designs were the way to go. so i went a bit crazy with it.
started out pretty simple. i cut ty’s shirt slightly differently (it still plagues his fanart to this day, i’m sorry ty). i gave bodil a beanie. everything was fine.
and then i still didn’t fucking want to draw checkerboards, so i just made a unique design for mitch. it followed with zek (the jacket on the right with the blue), who also had a checkerboard print.
i did not want anyone replicating what i did, because it pissed me the fuck off something fierce. and i don’t know nor do i remember this clearly, but i’m pretty sure T started doing the same damn thing anyway. and i’m pretty sure it’s only T, because when I talked with swift and jasie they didn’t remember doing this shit. it was literally the two of us and whoever happened to be watching us do it.
it wasn’t meant to be easy to replicate.
it was meant to be a bitch to replicate.
(i did it with rage too. the man didn’t even have a checkerboard skin. the long hair also plagues his fanart to this day, too. sorry rage.)
the other designs (ragegaming-era) were in 2015. and i was still the same angry 14-year old kid, especially since the T situation hadn’t gotten any better. we were still being mistaken for each other. people were genuinely confused about which of us were who and i don’t know how to explain to you how much anger was packed into my tiny 14 year old unsocialized body.
i genuinely still don’t understand it now because our art styles were fundamentally different.
so i pitch you this question: what happens if simple skins meet this anger at being copied when even the simpler prints intended to be a bitch to replicate end up being mimicked, especially when the person you didn’t want copying you followed you into a wholeass new fandom? (we were more divided than now; TC and Crew were two completely different fandoms lol; we didn’t generally unite ourselves under ‘mcyt’)
you end up with other weird attempts. strangely asymmetrical cuts. even more complicated patterns. i apparently hid these but it was hell, i tell you.
but i can assure you that the patterns on my designs were almost always symmetrical, albeit colored differently from the other side. the asymmetrical parts were different - a cut, a rolled up pant leg. something that you could do with a regular article of clothing. i know that in my circle there were some people that would have different length in shoes. i never did that. i would literally never write words on a shirt, too. i wasn’t one of those graphic tee people.
then i guess in late 2015 i got tired of it all and went back to the simple times of just not wanting to draw difficult designs before quitting altogether.
so you want to know what defined 2014 designs?
it was a 14 year old’s absolute anger at being copied to fucking death and having to be mistaken for other people.
i hope this helped and i am now going to choose to forget that i ever decided to answer this ask. not because it was a bad ask, but because i don’t like thinking about T in particular.
thank you for indulging my rambling bones. here’s a tl;dr for you:
Before-T designs (simpler)
the interpretations are literal.
if you can’t tell what’s going on, just make it a sweater and copy the patterns on the skin 1:1.
if there’s a different head (jason’s astronaut helmet, jerome’s bacca head) just make it a hood or a hat.
After-T designs (more difficult)
you still don’t wanna draw things out of your comfort zone, so stay out of the armor/anthro business.
give every design two layers - three at most.
you love hoodies :)
if the skin is simple, use slightly different shades to add patterns (i believe he had a plain blue hoodie and plain black pants).
want to be even MORE unique than before? add something asymmetrical. remove a sleeve, roll up a pant leg, or something, but never shoes or gloves. they are sacred and you shouldn’t do that to them.
idk someone pointed out that i was apparently allergic to necks because i kept giving designs chokers or scarves or whatever. they’re usually solid in color

Hello! I was wondering if I could get a m Kingdom Hearts romantic matchup? My pronouns are she/her. I’m also 19. Im 5’1, slim to athletic build with tanned skin, black, short hair, bold eyebrows, full lips and dark brown eyes. I also wear dark purple cat eye glasses. I have a quite preppy aesthetic. I wear lots of plaid skirts, knee high socks, heeled boots and Peter Pan collars. As for personality I’m very creative and curious. I spend lots time living in a world of my own discovering and exploring ideas. To the outsider I seem incredibly "dreamy" and distant, because I spend a lot of time inside my own mind musing over things. I’m very easily bored by day to day things and will zone out on the majority of people. As for hobbies I’m very interested in the visual arts. I myself am an artist working in both fine and digital mediums. I also love studying symbols through art (I’ve tried to incorporate them into my own art ya know give the viewer a sort of scavenger hunt). I also love films, books, and video games. This is to an extent of over analyzing and theorizing. Let’s just say I’m invested in stories. My favorite genres are probably myths/legends, espionage/mystery, historical fiction, sci fi and fantasy. Back to studying art which is what I am currently doing in college. I’m majoring in Digital Media Art which is things like user experience, web design, cgi and graphics etc. I also love to workout and kickbox. I’d say that my greatest weakness is how distant I can be. I tend to be confused and closed off by my emotions even if I feel them deeply. That being said I do have a very select group of people that I open up too. Lastly, my preference is for either males of females. Thank you once again!
I think you’d go well with Demyx!
Artists just tend to gravitate towards each other; the two of you might do different things, but you’re still driven to create without ceasing, and that acts like a beacon to draw others closer. He definitely understands the dreamy attitude; it’s so easy to get caught up in your own world, and he’s actually excited to find someone who understands him. He’s spent a long time getting mocked or scolded for his tendency to space out or say weird things— but with you, he can say anything, and he loves your little matching quirks too. He’s not the best study partner, always wanting to drag you away from your work and go do something fun instead, but he’s also perfectly content to just sit in your room and play his sitar quietly while you read.
Demyx might be anxious, but when it comes to the arts, he’s into everything— your set of skills is new to him, and he finds it super interesting. He’d love to watch you work for hours, and while he’s definitely not as experienced with the visual arts as you are, he’s always willing to learn and give you his own feedback. The same with books and movies; he rarely strays from his comfort zone, but he’ll watch new things in order to spend time with you or understand you better. In turn, he wants to teach you about music— even if you never really catch on, he just thinks it’s fun to loudly play instruments together, no matter how bad it sounds. Also, he’s not very physically strong— you could kick his ass with ease, and he’s super into that.
The fact that you can be a little distant might still be a bit of a problem, yeah. He’s anxious and clingy, so if you don’t keep up with him, texts and calls and dates, he worries that you’ve found somebody else and don’t love him anymore. Thankfully, Demyx is very emotionally open— as long as you tell him straight that you still love him, you just didn’t realize you’d closed yourself off again, he’s back to his happy self.
I've never stopped thinking about Demyx Time lmaooo

creator tag game!
rules: it’s time to love yourselves! choose your 5 (ish) favorite works you created in the past year (fics, art, edits, etc.) and link them below to reflect on the amazing things you brought into the world in 2020. tag as many writers/artists/etc. as you want (fan or original) so we can spread the love and link each other to awesome works!
Thank you so much for tagging me @secretly-of-course <3
1. Favorite episode: Stand Tall. This one is from last month - day seven of jatp week. I just had a lot of fun editing it, and I think it turned out nice!
2. It’s a whole...process. I drew this doafp comic a few months after season 1 as a way to appreciate Bobby’s gay storyline, and the process it took for him to figure that part of himself out. Not only am I really proud of the line art (particularly the first and second panels), but I think the use of the rainbow line - which I included to guide our eyes through the composition - was a nice touch. This is still one of my favorite fanarts I’ve done!
3. Nightime tennis court confession. This one is another Bobby/cartero comic, which I made for doafp appreciation week. I wanted to draw this moment for a long time, but I was always a little hesitant because I didn’t really know what it would look like? Plus, I have very little experience coloring dimly lit scenes. So this comic definitely took a while to get the colors right, and while it’s nowhere near perfect, I’m still really proud of this one - especially because it got me out of my comfort zone!
4. HSMTMTS lyric headers. I made this all the way back in January, which feels like forever ago. I designed each one in such a way that it either related to the lyrics themselves or the general vibe I got from the song. I really like what I did with the last two: I crossed out the word “old” and put stairs beside the word “new” to illustrate Nini’s first steps into her next venture. And for the last one, I illustrated dots and a heart ( . . . heart . . .) to illustrate Ricky and Nini’s love being brief and “just for a moment” in time, before they leave the stage and everything's back to normal. I had a lot of fun just thinking in terms of simple graphics, typography, and color.
5. Katara. This drawing is from my main blog, but I wanted to include it because I’m so proud of it. This was the first drawing I made on my new laptop, which meant that I couldn’t use the drawing program I normally used. Also I had to visualize how her character would look realistically (like, not as a cartoon) so that was a fun challenge. Her cheeks turned out redder than I expected haha, but I still really like this one :)
I’m going to tag: @sonsetcurve @stephadoodles @edgeofalex @madisonreyes @wokealex @reggiesnecklace @captainkippen @pawprinterfanfic (you guys don’t have to do this of course, no pressure) and anyone who sees this who wants to appreciate their amazing works (just say that I tagged you)!

Caress Your Soul Ch. 1
Danny x Reader
I don’t know how to keep things in one tense I’m so sorry.
There’s gonna be smut and gross stuff later so be warned. This chapter is clean tho.
-----
You stand in front of your body length mirror in your bedroom, checking over yourself for the fourth time. It had been a long time since you had last gone on a date – you couldn’t even remember the last time. Had you even been on one before, really? You weren’t sure. You glance at the clock beside your bed and panic. It was almost time to leave. You steal one more glance at the mirror.
You wore a white dress that clung to your hips and showed off a bit more of your cleavage than you would have liked, but it was the outfit your friend Jan had picked out for you. It also happened to be the same friend who set this date up in the first place. As you were pulling the dress down, something white in the corner of your room caught your eye and you gasped, throwing your hand over your mouth and spinning around.
Oh. It was a white pleather purse your mother had given you a few years ago, of course. What else would it be. You felt like kicking yourself. With a sigh you grabbed the purse and slug it over your shoulder. Just your ever-wanting eyes playing tricks on you. Wasn’t the first time, and it more than likely won’t be the last.
The ringtone of your phone makes you jump out of your skin and you quickly pick it up. “Yeeeees Jan, what is it?” you say as you pick your black cardigan up off your bed and head to your car.
“Just checking in and making sure you’re still going! You’ll just love Randy. He’s so funny. Trust me. You’ll have an amazing time. You’re going, right?”
You roll your eyes at her gushing. You highly doubt that you will be interested in this “Randy” guy at all. You’ve learned you have a very specific taste in men and you doubt you’ll find anyone like him ever again. Your heart twisted in pain and you quickly pushed the thoughts back down.
“Yeah, yeah. I’m going. If I don’t you’ll never let me live it down. Also, what the hell is with this dress? I think I’m gonna be givin’ him the wrong impression.”
“Oh, don’t worry. I bet you look hot as hell. Anyways, have fun! Tell me all about it when you get home. If you get home.”
You just about gagged. There was no way that you were fucking this dude.
You quickly walk to your car after locking your house up, pulling your cardigan closer to your body as the evening Autumn breeze scattered leaves about and tussled your hair. Once you were in your car you turned the music up and started to zone out. You didn’t pay attention to the music, you were just trying to drown out your own thoughts.
Don’t think about him.
Don’t think.
Don’t.
Of course, it was no use. Your mind jumped right to where it shouldn’t. You were madly, completely, totally in love with a man who you couldn’t have anymore. The fact that you loved him as much as you did was sick, due to what exactly he does. But you didn’t care. Love is blind.
Before you knew it you were parked in the parking lot of La Belle, the chosen restaurant by Randy. It was some overpriced, fake French cuisine joint that you never wanted to go to. He insisted it was the best place in town, apparently. Tears were streaming down your face – you hadn’t realized that you had started crying. Taking a deep breath, you reached over and took a tissue from out of your glovebox, then wiped your face. Hopefully your face wasn’t too red. Not that it mattered, you weren’t exactly trying to impress anyone.
You stepped out of your car and once again pulled your sweater tighter against yourself, an ice cold chill down your spine. The hair on the back of your neck started to raise – which was odd, because you’ve only ever experience that when…
Your heart started to race and you quickly spun around, your eyes scanning the parking lot. Could it really be?
After a moment of searching you gave up with a sigh. Again your body was being cruel to you. However you’ve never felt it this strong before. You blinked away the fresh tears that wanted to spill over and walked into the restaurant. As you did, your nose picked up a very familiar scent, one of cheap cologne. This time you ignored it, not wanting to have a full on break down in front of searching, judgmental eyes.
You spotted the man that Jan had set you up with and gave a tiny frown. He looked nothing like the photo she had sent you. He smiled when he saw you and stood up, beckoning you over.
“Hi! You must be Y/N! I’m Randy,” he beams, pulling your chair out for you. You give a small smile in return and sit down.
“Yep, that’s me.”
He sat down across from you, his brown eyes searching your face. You hoped the dim light from the candle on the table hid how red your face was.
“I ordered us a bottle of wine – hope you like reds,” he says, a lopsided grin on his face. Oh boy, he was already trying to get you drunk. Go figure. You nod and look away as his eyes travel down from your face to rest on your chest. Quickly you pick up your menu and look it over, internally gagging over the food offered here. How pretentious could a place get?
“So, Y/N, what do you do for a living?”
“Oh, I do graphic design. Don’t get out much since I’m always at home working, I also like to do photography on the side, “ you respond, toying with a lock of your hair.
“Ah, I see. Interesting, I…” you tune out his words, not really interested in what he does. You can’t help but feel a bit guilty, but again this wasn’t your idea. Your eyes flick over to a waiter walking to your table, holding a tray with a large bottle of wine resting on top of it.
Before you even knew what was happening, the waiter was falling to the floor, the bottle of wine crashing down with him. It shattered on the ground near his face and you thought for a sickening moment that some of the glass was going to slice right into the tender flesh on his face. Thankfully, he was lucky tonight, and he didn’t get a single cut.
A few people turned their heads and were watching the incident with interest shining in their eyes. Oddly enough, the man that was sitting alone at the table right next to where the waiter fell didn’t look or even flinch when it happened, nor did he offer to help the man up.
“Aw hell, I think that was our wine!” Randy fussed, peering at the scene. How did he even manage to trip like that?”
Your eyes linger on the back of the lone mans head for a moment before you tear them away.
- - -
The rest of the date after that moment went by pretty uneventful. You got another bottle of wine and the waiter had apologized pretty profusely, saying he didn’t know what happened. You got a pretty basic salad and had a few glasses of wine, but not enough to get you tipsy. Before you knew it, you were headed out of the restaurant and making your way to your car.
Randy was clinging to your elbow, who had obviously had much more to drink than you did.
“Are you positive you can drive yourself home? I’m totally sober, so I could-- I could, you know, drive you home,” he says, his hand tightening on your elbow. “Or, you could just come over to my house… I live right around here, you can lay down, or…” he murmured, drawing closer to you.
You immediately pull away and take your keys out from your purse, trying not to make a face.
“No, really, I have work to catch up on, and I’m fine to drive myself.”
Randy frowns and looks you over. “Well, my bed is, like, really comfortable. And I-”
“It’s a lot of work. I had fun, have a nice night!” you say as you jump into your car and start it before Randy can get another word in. You throw the car in reverse, and drive home.
- - -
Once you get home you jump into the shower and wash off the grime you feel you caught from Randy. You slip into your pj shorts and shirt and go back to your room, then sit on your bed, letting the tears that have been building up through the day flow freely. This had become something of a nightly ritual.
For a second time that night your phones ringtone made you have a heart attack. This time was unusual because by the time you had finished showering and getting ready for bed, it was 3AM. Who on earth would be calling at this time? The caller ID read “Unknown”.
‘Probably Jan with some new phone or tonight's lovers phone,’ you think as you hit the green button and bring the phone up to your ear. Your heart beats fast, once again hoping it was him.
“… Hello?”

hello! i hope you’ve been doing well during such stressful times. college has been... not very kind to me these days. could i have ships for ONEUS, ONEWE, and ATEEZ? i’m a 5’6 chubby mexican girl with shoulder length black hair and brown eyes. i wear glasses cause i’m blind af. my personality is INFJ-T and i’m a Leo. i love horror movies and baking! i’m currently a mass media major (which is like photography and graphic design). i am known as somewhat of the “mom friend” as well. thank you!!!
That... 90-page document is still mocking me, but things will be better !! I’m sure of it!! (○` 3′○) I really hope the day will shine brighter for you there too, we can get through this together!! (´▽`ʃ♡ƪ) Hope you like this!!
[Oneus] — Hwanwoong
Yep, can’t think of anyone else BUT him to be honest!! Not only do you two share interests, but I think he’d match your personality well!! Hwanwoong seems to very interested in photography, but as a mass media major, he’s always willing to listen to you talk about the deeper and more technical aspects to mass media. He’d admire your dedication to your craft and he’s always excited to learn something new from you!! He fuels your passion, and he’d definitely enjoy all the love and care you have to give!! And lmao after some research, I’d like to think Hwanwoong would constantly assert that he’s actually taller than you HAHAHAHA It’s cute banter uwu
[Onewe] — Yonghoon
The vibes... are telling me... Yonghoon!! Not sure why to be honest, I just felt like he’d fit well with you!! Both of you can really relate to each other as the parental figure among your peers, and I can imagine both of you sharing the struggles of being blind without your glasses </3 With Yonghoon as an extrovert, I think he can encourage you to get out of your comfort zone in the best ways!! He’s gentle to let you try new things and new experiences, and he thinks it can help both of you draw out some inspiration!! In the same way, I think your introversion can help him appreciate the quiet moments more often!! Imagine him working on his music while you’re working on you graphic design projects, the silence no longer feels uncomfortable to him when you’re around uwu
[ATEEZ] — Seonghwa
Based on your MBTI and your zodiac sign, I found Seonghwa very fitting for you!! At the points where your personality and zodiac intersect, I see that Seonghwa will be capable of reciprocating your innate passion and providing a safe space for you!! A lot of people confide in him, so he surely would be able to help you create a deep and lasting relationship!! Aside from that, I think Hwa would definitely enjoy keeping you company when baking!! He’s a relatively good cook himself so he’s always there to offer help (and maybe wash your bowls and pans... who knows tbh? HAHAHA) He’s always going to make sure you have your glasses on though, and for some reason he always has a piece of polyester ready for your perusal uwu
i’m taking ship requests for a limited time! if you’d like one for yourself, learn more here!

Do you listen to music (or tv shows/films/anything else) when drawing?
🎤 yup! usually music~ mostly pop 🥁 usually, i am either listening to music or rewatching my favorite tv shows while i work. 🎷 I listen to music or watch videos while I draw, usually for background noises but when it comes to music I like it to listen to certain genres and themes to keep my mind at a creative mode. 🎺 I'm big into music, I believe that it can influence how and what I come up with. A lot of the times I will have a specific playlist for a piece just so I can keep a consistent mood through out a piece. If I want to have a neutral setting while I work, I usually just throw on a murder mystery documentary and get to it. 🎸 All the time! It helps me focus and relax at the same time. Sometimes a song can inspire me to draw through art block as well. My genre of music can go from pop to hardcore rock, then back to instrumental and indie, in many different languages as well. 🎻 I do! It's helpful background noise.
What’s your favorite music artist/band? If you could ask your favorite band/music artist one question, what would it be?
🎤 A Crow is White has been a favorite for a while now~ i really love their whispery vocal style~ 🥁 i would simply ask stevie nicks for her best witch tips. 🎺 This may be unbelievable, but I don't have one particular absolute favorite artist/band. I love so many different types of music it is so hard to pick one favorite. I guess if I really had to pick *one* I would pick Ella Fitzgerald. I would love to ask her what it was like to be a woman of color making a living as a jazz artist in the era that she lived. 🎸 I have too many to list, but if I could ask one question to my favorite musician, then I would want to know what inspired them to make a song. 🎻 Yoko Shimomura! I wonder how she always seems to make dynamic music
Do you play an instrument? If not would you like to play one? Which one?
🎤 nope but i've been interested in picking up bass~   🥁 i have been teaching myself the ukulele the last couple years! my favorite songs to play are “f*ck was i” by jenny owens young and “us” by regina spektor. 🎷 I don't play any sadly haha 🎺 Sadly, I am not able to play any instrument. I just completely skipped that in school. I think I would really love to play the guitar or banjo. The guitar because it is an instrument thats sound really excites me in music. And the banjo because it is notoriously hard to play, so it would be cool to say I could. Maybe even a hurry-gurdy. Who knows. 🎸 I used to play the electric piano back when I was young, but not anymore. If I wanted to learn an instrument again, I would like to play an electric guitar because of guitar hero. [LOL] 🎻 I actually played multiple instruments in middle school. They were all percussion instruments!
Which song(s) are you going to draw?
🎤 i'll be illustrating Hi-speed Muteppou by A Crow is White 🥁 “i wish i was the moon” by neko case 🎷 I will be doing Dream Dream Dream by Madeon 🎺 I am going to be illustrating Past Lives by BORNS 🎸 Lollipop - Mika Battle Symphony - Linkin Park and probably more if time permit. 🎻 Katte Ni Kaizou Shite Mo Ii Ze - Kenji Ohtsuki
What do you expect from this zine?
🎤 i'm really curious to see the variety of music~ Maybe i'll find a new favorite band! 🥁 i expect to hear a lot of cool music that i have never heard before! and also push myself to work outside of my comfort zone. 🎷 The wonderful pieces everyone will be making with the songs they have chosen and even listening to some of the songs they had picked! 🎺 Just to have a whole lot of fun and discover some new music. Maybe even make some new friends in the art world. 🎸 I am excited to see how everyone interprets their favorite songs through their own means. I also thank you for letting me be a part of it as well. I can’t wait to see the zine in full blossom! <3 🎻 I expect to have a fun time with it! I can't wait to see the finished product
Anything else you want to add?
🥁 so excited to be a part of this zine and seeing people’s interpretations of their favorite songs 🖤 🎷 Thank you for making this zine, this is my first time working in a zine and I hope I do well for this project! ♡ 🎻 Thank you, Dot Zines for accepting me!

hello everyone! i’m glad to introduce you to my daughter inna / danna! she’s a bit of a mess that only wants to spend the whole day in her home painting if possible. you can find her basics here, personality here, background here. if you're interested in plotting, you can find me in discord at internebula#6982!
without furher ado, here’s more about her:
basic information
― full name: kwang inna ― nickname: nana ― age: twenty two ― date of birth: february 11th, 1998 ― birthplace: los angeles, california. ― current location: seoul, south korea ― ethnicity: asian ― nationality: (dual nationality) korean-american ― gender: cisfemale ― pronouns: she/her ― orientation: bisexual, demiromantic. ― religion: atheist ― occupation: content creator, freelance artist ― language(s) spoken: korean (fluent), english (fluent)
physical appearance
― faceclaim: park chaeyoung (rosé) of blackpink ― hair: naturally brown, currently dyed blonde. often put in messy buns, ponytails, french braids but also let loose with casual curls she gets from sleeping with her hair braided. ― eye colour: coffee brown ― height: 168cm ― weight: 45kg ― tattoos: four; the great wave off kanagawa on her right arm, flowery half sleeve on her left arm, moon arrow behind right ear and a matching triangle tattoo with her brother on her right inner forearm. ― piercings: lobe and upper lobe in both ears, anti-tragus on the left one, double helix on the right one. ― clothing style: high-waisted skirts, dresses that flow nicely with the wind, mom jeans that are a bit too long for her, graphic t-shirts she’s gotten from garage sales and thrift shops, oversized jackets she’s customized with either paint or enamel pins or patches, long coats that resemble those of classic detectives, her good ol’ dr. marteens in a variety of colors, knee and thigh high socks, athleisure outfits (consisting mainly of leggins and big sweatshirts), crop-tops, sling bags, whatever pair of sneakers she finds and matching bag or backpack.
headcanons
― born and raised in los angeles, her parents moved to usa right after they got married in their mid twenties only because of the feeling of adventure. they both got stable jobs there and even though her mom was the one that struggled the most with the different language, with the help of her husband she was able to improve steadily.
― ever since she was young, inna has showcased exceptional skills when it came to drawing and painting (if you consider the crayon scattered all over the walls of their apartment back in los angeles as art). always restless, she got easily bored with the common toys and games, only truly finding joy in the coloring books her parents always got her instead of dolls and an easy bake oven.
― she has always been heavily spoiled by every member of their family and inna grew used to this. it was no surprise that she always got what she wanted with a simple smile and her trademark grabby hands (she still does this till now and it’s absolutely gross). the one that spoiled her the most was her brother.
― inna holds dear every member of her family and despite being the ultimate spoiled princess, she always offered help around the house when she became older and realized that everyone had to do something for their household. she hated washing dishes though and always traded that task with her brother to the point that it became a natural thing for him to wash them and for her to mop and take the trash out. to this day, she will avoid washing dishes at any cost and her apartment often has a pile of dirty dishes which only makes it worse when she runs out of clean ones.
― the divorce of her parents hit her hard (spoiler alert: her father was awful when no one was seeing and cheated a lot on her mom, which she forgave every damn time until he crossed the line and brought another girl to their place) mainly because she didn’t understand what was happening at the moment and no one took their time to explain it to her. it was difficult to deal with her behaviour back then, she threw really loud tantrums and demanded to see her father almost daily and, whenever this didn’t happen, she’d go on a silent protest by not doing anything they asked her to. it’s years later that she understands everything (thanks to an argument she had with her brother for defending her dad and he just exploded). this, of course, greatly disappointed her and made her feel bad for still standing by her dad’s side.
― after that, inna just like her brother, closed a little to their father even though he was still as kind, loving and caring as ever with them despite everything. his attitude made her doubt her mother and brother several times, but then came the first girlfriend he ever introduced to them, and then the second… and so on.
― it was obvious that her mother drastically changed after the divorce and this scared inna a lot: letting someone in and become vulnerable with them only to have your heart broken sounded absolutely painful. and she didn’t want that. plus, her mom’s constant reminders of how she can’t trust anyone that its not her or her brother stayed deeply engraved within her.
― she’s never had a stable relationship, if anything, the longer she’s “gone out” with someone is a couple of weeks and after that, she ghosted them with no remorse. inna has had crushes in the past, but rarely ever actively pursues someone unless she’s really curious or interested to know more about them. nonetheless, she's a bit of a flirt and tends to get clingy and touchy when she's comfortable/close enough with someone.
― school is difficult in every stage for her, always getting rather mediocre grades in most of her classes except those that required a more creative and practical approach. simply put: she was bad at theoric classes and anything related to math and physics. though, inna was always close to failing but never did so. this was just one of the many reasons she didn’t want to pursue a college education.
― the creation of her channel is all thanks to her brother, her self-proclaimed number one fan and the one person that’s always encouraged her to keep going with her art. he suggested the idea and told her that they could do a testing video to see how comfortable she felt with it before uploading it. turns out, inna was more than okay with the camera for it focused on her hands and process the whole time. voice over was not necessary back then but as her channel evolved, so did the quality and content of her videos. steadily, she introduced different aspects of herself, starting with her voice by doing easy-to-follow tutorials and later on, her face was revealed when doing an art haul video. this helped her become more comfortable with the camera and now, every couple of weeks she posts vlogs of her visits to museums or events or just updates for her community.
― despite her popularity and some people even recognising her on the streets, inna has never considered herself to be a celebrity. in fact, she feels awkward with the title for she considers her channel to be just another one. she appreciates though whenever her prints get sold out or when someone asks for her autograph and a photo or even when she is invited to events as a special guest.
― the kind to get really excited when talking about things she likes. don’t get her started on her favorite medium or her favorite painting because she might go on for twenty seven minutes straight about how watercolors are the superior medium to work with.
― she likes experimenting with any and every medium out there, particularly enjoying art subscription boxes that always surprised her and push her out of her comfort zone. her specialization is landscapes and character design, though she’s recently learning to draw more animals and plants.
