I sometimes wonder
Why do people forget that Hamas is an extreme right wing fundamentalist organization that would murder every leftist that allied with them for "pragmatic" reasons after supposedly liberating Palestine? They've explicitly said they're anti-communist.
But, obviously, none of you Free Palestine folks will ask those questions because you're all western leftists who won't ever be subjected to violence from your own peers that are supposedly "liberating" you. You will live your comfy little lives in your comfy little apartment in California while every single communist who dreamed of liberating Palestine is hanged for being a leftist after Hamas wins.
You fuckers would see the Proud Boys rising against a centrist American government (or, supposedly, against Israel) and would gleefully join them only to be surprised once they started executing your friends by the dozens.
Do not ever let or suggest that we need to prop up extreme right wingers for liberation. You will get people killed. You're not anyone's ally, you're just doing this for your own sick amusement and ensuring to yourself you're a good person.
None of you are.
Oh yeah! Did I forget about the part where Israel directly funded Hamas to crush the PLO? Ya'll always conveniently forget that part. Congrats on ya'll cheering for the Mossad-paid controlled opposition.

The "Stop Jewish Hate" Super Bowl commercial was not bought by Israel, but by an American-based nonprofit. It is only about anti-Jewish hate crimes in the United States. It does not mention Israel, Zionism, Palestine, or anything about the wars and genocides in the Middle East. Anyone saying otherwise is spreading disinformation.

Another tfe discourse post but I have a crappy gift at the end
I wasn’t going to say anything more about the tfe situation because I know some people are just haters but…
If you’re upset Robbie, a main character, is getting screen time and development, you’re in for a rude awakening because spoiler alert: shows develop their MAIN CHARACTERS
I for one am ECSTATIC they’re trying to develop the main cast and not have Robbie be like every other human kid (absolutely nothing burger). The fact he can actually fight along his siblings is fucking cool.
All this negativity because earthspark isn’t tfp is making me piss out shit bricks like what were you expecting??? It’s a different story.
Tumblr media
Anyway here’s a starbee sketch I made so we can end this with love as much as the parasites want me to send hate. Spread love, be kind, give your friends a compliment, support a Palestinian charity because paramount isn’t going to, be good.

Every time I make a Pro-Palestine post, I get sent death threats and hate mail by alt-right Zionists. As does anyone brave enough to speak out on the genocide that’s currently unfolding. Yet y’all want me to have sympathy for Taylor Swift because she would be risking her “safety” if she spoke out on “political” matters??? Y’all are so out of touch with reality it’s sickening.
Take a minute out of your insular lives to check out the college students risking their education and their safety to protest genocide. Or the long list of celebrities such as SZA, Hozier and The Weeknd who have shown solidarity with the Palestinian cause. Or the millions of people all across the world who show solidarity through protesting, donating or posting.
Please, stop telling me you’re worried for a billionaire’s safety. Specifically a billionaire who used to speak out on issues because she wanted to be “on the right side of history” but abandoned that rhetoric once she rose to the top of the charts again.

I don't like talking about Palestine issues, mostly because I don't believe I should talk about issues I know nothing about and add to the misinformation or fuel xenophobia but this fandom has gotten political omg.
Anyways noticed a trend of drawing a egg eating watermelon to show support for Palestine. Hi, black person here born and raise in Jamaica, we where taught about slavery in school.
Do you know what I see when I see a drawing of Richardlyson (or anyone for that matter but Richardlyson in particular makes my stomach turn.) Eating a watermelon
I'll show you
Tumblr media
Yeah.. Can we use something else please?
Like idk the flag is just fine, oh even just have it in the background, Like I know what the watermelon means I know it's because its all the colors on the flag but a black brother asking y'all to please choice another pose for the love of God.
They are some art that fine like just drawing watermelon or having watermelon in the background, but none of you who drew this thought to yourself "wait maybe I shouldn't draw this it looks too much like something else?"
Like really..?

For the people in my asks
Yes the last of us 2 is still my favorite game and the article being shared is from a perspective of someone being hypercritical of the zionist message(rightfully) while completely ignoring that the game is actually NOT a zionist message.
My main arguments against this article:
-Dina being proud of her Jewish heritage happens long before the game even introduces the serephites and wfl, thus there is no narrative tie-in to Dina being Jewish and the conflict among the two factions. Free palestine is not an anti jew thing, its an anti-israel apartheid state thing. And by extension, acknowledging that anti Semitic genocides did happen and still do, is not anti palistine, like the article author implies the game is suggesting.
-"at the end of the day Ellie's journey of revenge seems especially cruel, even idiotic, because we are never given a good reason for why she keeps recommitting to it" Yeah, only if you don't know what ptsd is or that she recommits to revenge because she grew up in a world that simply COULD NOT churn out anyone well adjusted.
-this is an article from a jewish-pro palestine woman that argues that this is a bad take from a guy who clearly took his own interpretation as the only interpretation there was. She is the same author as this article that's been on many anti zionism posts going around this website. She asserts that the game itself is not actually pro isreal, but is "a catalyst for more difficult conversions."
-the main point of the article is that the game is bad and zionist bc it treats the conflict as essentially a cycle of hate in us people and that that is a mentality that is learned, not inate. Which is bullshit bc there are many stories that have those exact tropes that aren't zionist at all. And the last of us isn't either.
THAT BEING SAID: NEIL DRUNKMANN IS A ZIONIST BASTARD! Outright he has supported Isreal despite the irony that the game he made was the condemnation of exactly what he is now supporting. This guy in the video puts it best how drunkmann accidentally made a game that went against his own beliefs along with some other good things to say on the topic of celebrities sudden support of isreal:
youtube
The last of us 2 is still my favorite game and i stand by that. HOWEVER, I will likely NOT be watching the second season of the show bc the game was so phenomenally good, by accident, it seems. I have no doubts that the show will be more pro isreal as drunkmann doubles down on his pro genocide stance, and that is kind of the opposition of the game's point.
If you like the last of us 1 and 2, then support Palistine!(or if you hate the game, there is a fucking genocide happening and this all feels very small in comparison to the war crimes being committed. Do something more productive than hang out in my inboxes or tell me to off myself):

I think the fact that the hungarian government licks the boots of israel is especially heinous because out of anyone we should be the ones to understand what its like to have our land stolen and be mass murdered for speaking out against occupation, we have an entire holiday dedicated to fighting for our indigenous freedom for fuck's sake

me when so called anti imperialist ignores everything isr*al has been doing to palestine for the past 75 years to go on a tirade of how hamas is horrible (does not mention how the idf is bombing gaza into dust and perpetrating an ethnic genocide) very interesting!

When I was in ninth grade I wanted to challenge what I saw as a very stupid dress code policy (not being allowed to wear spikes regardless of the size or sharpness of the spikes). My dad said to me, “What is your objective?”
He said it over and over. I contemplated that. I wanted to change an unfair dress code. What did I stand to gain? What did I stand to lose? If what I really wanted was to change the dress code, what would be my most effective potential approach? (He also gave me Discourses on the Fall of Rome by Titus Livius, Machiavelli’s magnum opus. Of course he’d already given me The Prince, Five Rings, and The Art of War.)
I ultimately printed out that phrase, coated it in Mod Podge, and clipped it to my bathroom mirror so I would look at it and think about it every day.
What is your objective?
Forget about how you feel. Ask yourself, what do you want to see happen? And then ask, how can you make it happen? Who needs to agree with you? Who has the power to implement this change? What are the points where you have leverage over them? If you use that leverage now, will you impair your ability to use it in the future? Getting what you want is about effectiveness. It is not about being an alpha or a sigma or whatever other bullshit the men’s right whiners are on about now. You won’t find any MRA talking points in Musashi, because they are not relevant.
I had no clear leverage on the dress code issue. My parents were not on the PTA; neither were any of my friend’s parents who liked me. The teachers did not care about this. Ultimately I just wore what I wanted, my patent leather collar from Hot Topic with large but flattened spikes, and I had guessed correctly—the teachers also did not care enough to discipline me.
I often see people on tumblr, mostly the very young, flail around in discourse. They don’t have an objective. They don’t know what they want to achieve, and they have never thought about strategizing and interpersonal effectiveness. No one can get everything they want by being an asshole. You must be able to work with other people, and that includes smiling when you hate them.
Read Machiavelli. Start with The Prince, but then move on to Discourses. Read Musashi’s Five Rings. Read The Art of War. They’re classics for a reason. They can’t cover all situations, but they can do more for how you think about strategizing than anything you’re getting in middle school and high school curricula.
Don’t vote third party unless you can tell me not only what your objective is but also why this action stands a meaningful chance of accomplishing it. Otherwise, back up and approach your strategy from a new angle. I don’t care how angry you are with Biden right now. He knows about it, and he is both trying to do something and not doing enough. I care about what will happen to millions of people if we have another Trump presidency. Look up Ross Perot, and learn from our past. Find your objective. If it is to stop the genocide in Palestine now, call your elected representatives now. They don’t care about emails; they care about phone calls, because they live in the past. I know this because I shadowed a lobbyist, because knowing how power works is critical to using it.
How do you think I have gotten two clinics to start including gender care in their planning?
Start small. Chip away. Keep working. Find your leverage; figure out how and when to effectively use it. Choose your battles, so that you can concentrate on the battle at hand instead of wasting your resources in many directions. Learn from the accumulated wisdom of people who spent their lives learning by doing, by making mistakes, by watching the mistakes of their enemies.
Don’t be a dickhead. Be smarter than I was at 14. Ask yourself: what is your objective?

I feel like a lot of online outrage culture makes sense when you look at it like:
the internet makes the world way bigger > you're exposed to way more horrible problems around the globe > you realize you have no way of directly fixing those problems > you settle for talking about those issues > you equate action with thoughts and discussions > you have to only think about 'good things' all the time to be good
"reblog to signal boost" does nothing if that's all your activism is. violent video games don't make people violent anymore than bodice rippers make people rapists. making yourself miserable for the sake of 'doing something' is antithetical to progress. doing your daily Arab.org clicks, volunteering at a local domestic abuse shelter, or even just taking a walk to decompress and heal to live a little bit longer does the world way more good than tearing each other down online for a perceived character flaw.
actions will always, always, always matter more than thoughts or intent; for better or worse.

Conversation between me, and another high educated Jewish women whose opinions I respect
Her: What's missing here are the facts. If we stuck to the facts there wouldn't be so much intensity surrounding this issue. Me: But you and I are both highly educated Jewish women, and we can't even agree on the facts regarding the history of Palestine as a place name, ethnic identifier, and nation. If we can't even agree on those facts, how on earth can facts help anyone move forward?
There's the question. Not just for Jews, but for everyone involved in, or concerned with this conflict. How do we move forward if multiple sides of the room dispute the veracity of such basic statements as:
-Jews are a globally oppressed minority ethnic group, the hatred of which is deeply embedded in Western thought and rhetoric.
-The Naqba was a period of ethnic cleansing in which the government and military of the new State of Israel expelled Palestinian Arabs from their homes and property; a dispossession and a series of events which continue to traumatize and negatively impact the lives and livelihoods of Palestinians.
-The Holocaust was a traumatic event in the history of the Jewish people, the legacy of which is embedded in the psyches, world views, and collective trauma of the Jewish people, and invariably impacts how this group views global issues.
-Palestinian Arabs had a full developed sense of identity and statehood before the British Empire fucked off, and made their discomfort with increasing Jewish emigration clear to the British before the outbreak of the Second World War.
-Jews had nowhere to go before, during, or really, after the Holocaust; and the governments of many Arab States ethnically cleaned their own ancient Jewish communities in retribution for the creation of the State of Israel.
-The State of Israel does not exist because the Holocaust happened, or as an "apology" for said event.
THIS POST COMPRISES A SERIES OF RHETORICAL QUESTIONS MEANT TO MAKE US APPRECIATE THE DEPTHS OF THE DISCURSIVE PROBLEMS HERE; NOT A POST FOR "DISCOURSE" AND HATEFUL, AGGRESSIVE SHIT.
If you feel you have to do that, copy & paste into your own separate post.

Re what you said about being Jewish and anti-Zionist right now, I totally feel all of that, and also it just stinks of racism that as a White Jew people tend to take me more seriously when I talk about Palestine than when my Black, Arab, and Muslim friends do. My school’s antiracism club, which I’m sporadically active in, had to ask if I could start showing up more often because the principal wouldn’t listen to them (asking for support for Palestinian students, to be allowed to talk about Gaza in class, etc) since they weren’t “including Jewish voices”. It’s concerning that the club needs me for legitimacy, as if I automatically know more about Palestine than they do or will have better and more nuanced takes than them. I don’t know it just grosses me out. Also I could tell the principal wasn’t really listening when I brought this up with her. I’m worried about the same thing happening next year, and there not being any anti-Zionist Jews left in the school.
yeah its totally racist i hate it. even when i see anti zionist jews try to use this excessive focus on our voices to center palestinians people will still go out of their way to center jews it still is just a really uncomfortable political discourse to be trapped in and its really racist and also just the inevitable outcome of liberal identity politics and standpoint epistemology

since pride month is coming up remember
flag discourse is not real
slur discourse is not real
lesboy discourse is not real
mspec discourse is not real
trans men/transmascs are queer and we deserve a safe space
afab non binary people are not women lite
amab non binary people are still non binary
companies don’t give a shit about us. Do not praise them (esp since they are backing down bc of conservatives)
asexuals and aromantics are real people who are queer
The A in lgbtqia+ doesn’t not stand for ally. It stands for Asexual, Aromantic and Agender (and any other A label)
stop excluding masculine queer people
Xenogenders and Neoprnouns are valid
Xenogenders and Neopronouns hurt no one or make us look bad and don’t make transphobes hate us any more than they already do
Bisexuals can be in guy/girl relationships (and so on)
Queer platonic relationships are valid
Cishet/Allies are allowed at pride (seriously I saw a tweet from some idiot saying you can’t bring your cis partner to pride)
Real people cannot queerbait. Stop using this as a tool to (intentionally or not) force people to come out
A couple looking cishet or heteronormative does not mean they are
Trans men/Transmascs don’t owe you masculinity
trans women/transfems don’t owe you femininity
Anyone under the Nonbinary umbrella doesn’t owe you androgyny
Uplift Disabled/Neurodivergent/Non white queer/trans voices
Don’t forget about the Queer and Trans people being bombed in Palestine.
Cops aren’t allowed anywhere near pride. All Cops Are Bastards
that’s all I can think of rn. Happy almost pride month 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈
if you can and it’s safe, consider attending IRL pride events. Stay safe!
