23 + Fernando Alonso (can't wait to see what you come up with!)
Hi anon! Thank you so much for the request ♥︎
Sorry this is a little late, but better late than never, right?
When I saw the song I instantly knew what I wanted to do for this one, it practically wrote itself and I really enjoyed writing it, so I hope you enjoy reading it too!
+ Much like the Esteban fic, this is my first Fernando fic which is super fun! I really want to write more Fernando so if anyone has any more inspiration or any ideas do drop into my ask box and say hi!
Song 23 - These Boots Are Made for Walkin’ // Nancy Sinatra
Pairing - Fernando Alonso x Reader
Word Count - 1.2k
Content Warnings - Swearing, sex references
These boots are made for walkin' And that's just what they'll do One of these days these boots are gonna walk all over you
To you, rich men were boring. Each and every man who would aim to win your affections was just a carbon copy of the next, from the immaculately coiffured hair, to the gaudy watch they would flash to prove they were moneyed, and to the Maserati they had stashed away in their garage hoping it would make up for their tiny cock.
The vast majority cared about little but themselves. Their egos sat atop mountains of cryptocurrency and NFTs. Mountains that were just as fragile as the identities they held up. A slight gust of wind could send them toppling to the ground, their masculinity destroyed and their wealth worthless.
You were a hurricane, a destroyer of men. You knew exactly how to do it, and would leave a trail of destruction and male tears wherever you went. In the past, you had enjoyed watching as they fell from their pedestals, the silver spoon they were born with falling from their mouths with a clatter. But now, it was simply boring. You had lived out the same story over and over again, and you wanted something new, something exciting and different.
And you had found that something new on the day that Fernando Alonso had approached you in a bar in Monaco.
———
“If you’re looking for a sugar baby, you should know I make six figures a day, so you’d better be offering me seven. Then I might consider it.” You say, not lifting your eyes from your half-empty espresso martini on the bar.
“I was going to offer to buy you a drink, but I see you don’t need me to pay for you.” He says, and you finally look up from the counter and raise your eyebrow.
“Hm. How about you buy the first drink, and if you can prove to me that you’re worth my time, I’ll buy you one in return?” You say, and he offers you a sly smirk.
“Deal.” He says, and he flags down the bartender who immediately makes his way over to the two of you.
“I’ll have a martini. Dirty.” You say, and the bartender nods.
“Make that two.” Fernando says, and you smile to yourself.
“What’s so funny?” He asks, and you shake your head.
“Are you always this easily influenced by the women you meet in bars?” You ask, and he smiles.
“Only when they have good taste.” He replies.
“Correct answer.” You say, before finishing the remains of your espresso martini, setting the glass down before you.
You fish out the remaining candied coffee bean from the bottom of the glass and pop it on your tongue, before biting down with a satisfying crunch. Fernando’s eyes watch you intently as you do so, gazing at your lips with a look filled with hunger.
The bartender returns with your drinks and you give the man a small smile as Fernando taps his bank card. You notice the familiar logo of a private bank reserved only for the most affluent of society emblazoned on the top of his card and smile to yourself.
“I must say you’ve lasted longer than most men who agree to play my little game. I usually end up getting stuck with the bill when Daddy’s credit card declines.” You say, and Fernando smiles at you, raising his glass.
“I have never played a game I cannot win.” Fernando says, and you raise your glass to his, gazing into his dark brown eyes as you clink them together.
“Well I’ll drink to that.” You say, before taking a sip of your martini.
“Are there any rules to this game I should know?” Fernando asks, and you press your index finger to your lips in thought.
“There are no rules. I find life to be more fun without regulation and restriction.” You say, and Fernando nods.
“Then I can ask your name, yes?” Fernando says, and you nod.
“It’s (y/n), (y/n) (y/l/n), feel free to google me when you next go to relieve yourself. You’ll find a nice little article from Forbes designating me the seventeenth most successful businesswoman in the world.” You say, and Fernando tuts.
“I don’t care about that.” He says.
“Correct answer once again. Now, may I ask your name?” You say, and Fernando smiles.
“Fernando Alonso.”
“Wow, you’re three for three so far, and I think you’re the first man to do so in my extensive experience of being approached in bars.”
“What would be the wrong answer?” He asks, and you chuckle slightly.
“The most common one is, ‘don’t you know who I am?’ Had you said that, I would have pretended I had no clue who you were and walked away.” You say, and Fernando laughs.
“So you do know who I am?” He says, and you nod, taking a sip of your drink.
“I know of you, but I don’t know you. Yet.”
“You would like to know me?”
“You intrigue me, I’ll admit. You quite clearly have a strong ego, but you aren’t intimidated by me and my equally large ego in the slightest. So you’re as secure in your identity and your sense of self as I am, and I find that to be incredibly attractive.” You say, and Fernando nods, clearly impressed by your honest assessment of him.
“Your honesty is welcome. I like it.” Fernando says, taking a final sip of his drink and placing the empty glass on the counter.
You give him a small smile and empty your glass, placing it beside his before standing from your bar stool.
“So, will you be buying me a drink now?” Fernando asks, and you chuckle at him as you store your phone away in your handbag and tuck the handle into the crook of your arm.
“I already have. There’s a bottle of champagne on ice in my hotel room. Let’s go.” You say, and Fernando smiles, clearly holding back a laugh.
“How are you so sure I would come back with you?”
“You approached me in a bar, signalling that aesthetically, at least, you were interested in me. You then proceeded to stay while I nursed my martini, made some rather cutting remarks, and played the part of the aloof millionaire. If you weren’t still interested in sleeping with me, you would have excused yourself by now, presumably under the guise of catching up with the man in the booth over there who I believe to be Nico Rosberg, and promptly made a swift exit.” You say, and Fernando laughs in disbelief.
“You are very good at this game. I think you win.” He says, and it’s your turn to chuckle.
“Oh, love, I invented this game, I always win.” You say as Fernando opens the door to the bar and allows you to step out first into the night before following you onto the street.

pls I need episode sources for the true ones in the wtnv polls
this is about my "which of these is a fake fact about welcome to night vale" poll and ideally one should take that before reading these answers. having said that, let's go:
NVlians have to fill out triplicate sex paperwork with all potential partners: canon in the novel it devours! a few paragraphs from chapter 13,
Tumblr media Tumblr media
2. cecil is an avid tiktok user and regularly records dances at the radio station: this is the false one, it's actually carlos who is the wannabe tiktok star. from episode "218 - the sitter cancelled,"
I tried to get Carlos to take Esteban to the lab, but apparently today they’re doing a dangerous experiment and he doesn’t want our son to get hurt. I’m not sure I believe that. I think Carlos might just want some time alone to work on his Tiktok dances. He’s obsessed these days with getting one to go viral, and he’s putting a few too many hours into choreographing and filming these things.
3. k[h]oshekh the floating cat is a misogynist: from 195 and 196, silas the thief parts 1 & 2. these episodes are told from the perspective of silas, a former successful art thief who used to work with a partner called sandrine whom he never got on with, largely due to his self-centeredness and misogyny never letting him see her as a full person. it all came to a head when sandrine, as an act of revenge, cursed him to be an immobile mutant cat for the rest of his days, and this is the cat we have known all along as khoshekh gershwin-palmer. however he has mellowed since then and his misogyny has kind of cooled, having kids really changed him.
4. cecil turns a recurring nightmare of his into an nft: I feel the need to say he turned the nightmare itself into an nft, not an artistic representation or anything. from "199 - guidelines for retrieval,"
And thus ends the new Guidelines for Retrieval. Aw, that’s such a nice offer from the Sanitation Department! A little long winded maybe, but I don’t want to be too critical. I know their public communications department has had a lot of turnover lately. Anyway, I definitely will be taking them up on that offer this week. There’s a super vivid recurring nightmare I used to have that would make a great NFT.
5. cecil doesn’t know what fridges are: this one comes from the 2017 live show "ghost stories,"
Cecil: Oh yeah! Carlos and I have one of those humming closets, and when I open it up, there’s a light inside and cool air washes over me and I’m just like – what is this thing? Earl: Well, that’s just your refrigerator, Cecil. Cecil: Wait, that’s a refrigerator?! Earl: What have you been using as a fridge? Cecil: [beat] So tell us more about this master class um, Earl.
6. carlos climaxes in person in voice on podcast: from the patreon bonus episode "holiday." thinking or talking about science at too great length has a long canonical track record of getting carlos hot and bothered, and in one passage of the episode he starts talking about how much he loves doing science with a romantic partner, and, well. I'll just link the clip.
7. a big villain is defeated by getting squashed under a falling cow: major spoilers for very recent content here. in episode "230 - carlos explained," right as dr janet lubelle is giving her big villain monologue, this happens,
DR. LUBELLE: Now you’re starting to understand. There is no defeating me. No trick to wriggling out under my thumb. I’ve gamed out every gambit. Foreseen every fumbling, sweaty strategy. You have lost. And now…now Carlos, I will explain you away. You, Dr. Carlos Robles, were the son of [WHISTLING SOUND OF SOMETHING FALLING FROM THE SKY. LOUD SPLAT] [LONG PAUSE] CECIL: And that’s when the Glow Cloud dropped a dead cow on Dr. Lubelle. I sure hope she wasn’t injured. We should definitely check on her at some point, you know, eventually.
8. joseph fink, irl writer of the podcast, has been a NV radio intern twice: once, in the live show "the investigators," an intern played by joseph fink introduces himself as intern joseph fink. in all fairness, he could just be playing a character with his exact name, I mean, that's what maureen johnson does. however, from episode "188 - listener questions" onward, our world has in-universe been merging with the night vale world, and the actual writer joseph fink has been trapped in the town of night vale for over two years, at one point doing a stint as an intern.
9. a big villain is offered “an extra hour in the ball pit” as a bribe to go away: this one's about dr janet lubelle, again. in the last couple of seasons, tamika flynn has been feeling like she's outgrowing using violence as a tool to solve her problems, so in "228 - diplomacy," she tries the following,
Frustrations have swelled to a new high in Night Vale after Councilmember Tamika Flynn’s failed diplomatic attempts with the University of What It Is. Tamika tried offering them everything from limitless use of the scrublands to a coupon book full of cute tasks like free backrubs. She even offered an extra hour in the ball pit at the Night Vale Convention Center. But Dr. Lubelle and all of her henchmen will not budge.

Kizuna no Allele Reviews
#8: Teatime of Anguish (7/10)
Tumblr media
Again a bunch of relatable stuff, not wanting to be left behind, difficulties to express ideas, feeling like no one sees the real you. This series kinda works for me. Now we also know that Marumaru is the tea girl and we got much-needed insight. The end credits were cute too, Chris drawing Miracle and Noelle stealing her lesson lol. I also need to apply Marumaru’s tips for drawing, ngl.
#9: Unpredictable Ultimate (6/10)
Tumblr media
Very limited animation this episode, which also made the race less exciting because there was not really a sense of speed. It still was pretty entertaining though, even with the series interjecting a random info-dump on fake news. Riz is now the fourth addition to Miracle’s fanclub. The end credit scene was also really good, maybe even my favorite one so far. Chris, you little gremlin, I love you.
Tumblr media
#10: What It Means to Be Me (4.5/10)
Tumblr media
I’m very lax with the writing in this show but this episode was badly written. It was way too intensely and seriously played for no reason, and it took Miracle 20 minutes to figure out what Riz told her at the beginning of the episode. Miracle might be a bit of an airhead but she’s not that dumb. To name one cute thing in this episode though, I liked Chris in the ant costume. I’m still waiting for the day when Chris and Miracle meet in real life.
#11: True Color (4.5/10)
Tumblr media
Script is still not good and NFT promotions once again. I can overlook it when it’s only an end credit scene but now they’re putting it front and center again in an episode and I don’t like it. Despite these issues this episode was kinda coherent though, at least. And there were some fun visuals in a show which otherwise looks just okay. The octopus of the takoyaki in Miracle's mouth is my favorite. Without NFT this would be 5.5/10, but because of how tasteless it is I have to pull it down.

| Forewarning: I was struck by the need to talk art and life a little. It’s meandering. Some might think it cheesy, or whatever. Do with that what you will. |
It’s super easy to get down on yourself and your place in life. For everyone, of course, but in this instance I’m speaking from the perspective of an artist—specifically an artist online at a time when online is pretty damn hostile to artists.
There’s a lot going on. It feels like social media platforms are crashing down around our ears, draining reach and therefor business. As a person really quite new to using social media I don’t have enough perspective to tell if this is just how it always is either. It seems from what I can tell it’s much worse than it used to be. On top of that, there are a plethora of exploitative services being shoved at us from the (hopefully) dying nft trend, to AI and ML services violently pillaging the internet for data and years of effort and creativity. And amidst it all artists face the usual troubles—anything from being told to charge less, to being told to get a real career to make money, to being mocked and bullied for their artistic journey, to being told what to draw.
All this while we try to struggle through the internal conflicts artists tend to come up against—is our art good enough? How can I be better? Why am I not doing better? Is it me? Is it my art? The constant effort of not comparing ourselves to our peers, of not comparing ourselves to where we want to be or think we should be.
It’s a lot.
And I can not offer any answers on how to handle all that. I’m still figuring it out for myself. The typical answers are to simply not compare yourself to anything. To not mind the numbers. Which. Is all very well and good, and also true. It’s just not as easy as it sounds, especially if the success of your business or your ability to make a living involves minding the numbers at least a little, if looking at the art of others helps you grow but leaves a window for self doubt. There’s ways to face that in a healthy manner, of course. I read a text post from someone awhile back that suggested you should learn from what other artists do differently in their art, but not internalize the difference in success (worded much better, of course). I saw what they were saying, and it was actually very encouraging. I’d like to be able to quote it directly, since I think it was genuinely good advice. Alas I only have my flawed memory.
Either way, everyone is going to have times where their determination wavers a little and they find themselves caught up in feelings of discouragement and doubt. No one can maintain perfect surety and resolve all the time.
Times like those I like to celebrate how far I’ve come. Sometimes if I look at my current art in isolation, I see only where it lacks. But when I look back at my old art, I feel pride for how much work I’ve done to grow as much as I have. Pride that I stood where I did then, because I couldn’t stand where I do now without that. Pride for every step along the way that has taken me as far as I’ve gone. Pride for knowing that there’ll be a time in the future where I’ve continued to grow passed what I can imagine at this point.
And above it all I feel fondness. Fondness for the kid who found an old fantasy “How To” drawing book in their school library when they were nine that told them they could create worlds. That they could tell stories and bring them to life. I feel fondness because slowly but surely I’m getting there. I am there. I remember the first orc I drew, before I even really knew what an orc was. I remember thinking it was maybe the coolest thing I’d ever done. And now I look at my art and I wish I could show it to nine year old me and say thank you. Because if it wasn’t for that drawing—no more than pencil on lined paper or construction paper— I would not have the art I have now. And I know nine year old me would be so excited to see where that took me.
Above is a drawing I did in February 2021 (left) and a drawing I completed in June 2023 (right). I love both. Clearly I’ve learned much in the last two and a half years. But that doesn’t mean the first one is bad. There’s things I’d change about it now, never mind that it was meant to be for a comic, and the other is intended to be a painting that I can sell someday as a print which have very different requirements. I think the biggest thing I’ve learned is how to experiment. How to look at the world and try translating what I see to how I’d go about drawing it. In the first, for example, I had no idea how to approach drawing shallow running water, so I didn’t. I picked a colour, and tried adding some splashing water. In the second I’d learned a lot about how far a textured brush and a glow layer of some kind will take you 😂 But I wasn’t as intimidated. I trusted myself and all the art I’d created up until then to help support me in getting close to what I wanted to achieve. And now both pieces will be my fuel and my foundation.
Anyway. Recently I was struggling with all of this. It comes in waves semi frequently, and usually on the other side I find a way to be happy and to be gentle with myself. However it makes me contemplative. I like to talk about my art and my journey. I’ll probably do so many millions of times and I doubt there’ll be much variation. But it’s nice to do these little self check-ins. To celebrate myself. To celebrate all my hard work.
To remember first of all: Trust the process. In life and in art.
And second of all: we all deserve to be proud of ourselves. There are no conditions for that. Be proud. Be pleased. Delight in yourself. It doesn’t matter where in your journey you are. It doesn’t matter what art is in your portfolio. As a person, you have worth. Period. There are no other qualifications.

I Played No More Heroes
This was actually not my first Suda51 game, as I had randomly played Killer is Dead years before, but this is the first one I paid attention to, I guess.
It’s a game about a loser who sucks who lives in a shitty, ugly town and does menial tasks so he can kill people for no reason. Most of the game is actually pretty boring. In-between each ranked fight, you have to do small jobs here and there to afford getting to the next fight. Even when you do get to a ranked fight, you still have to fight through corridors of piss-easy enemies (though maybe that was just because I was playing on Easy mode. Yes, I am a scrub).
Most of No More Heroes is about pressing buttons. You press the button to ride your (terrible-to-control) bike to the next location, you press the button to lift some weights, you press the button to carry coconuts around. When you’re fighting enemies, you have to figure out if you press the button to go high or the one to go low.
Of course, the catharsis is in the boss fights. They’re what the game’s all about. After all your hard work, you’re rewarded with a decently fun battle, and then it’s on to the next one.
It really struck me just how meaningless the killing was. That’s the joke. It’s a game that completely rejects story, and makes fun of the player’s yearning for narrative. What do you want that for? Would it really make you feel better if you knew he had some tragic backstory, that he was on some path to revenge? It understands interaction and gameplay as the main form of audience engagement, and sees “plot” as a form of useless set-dressing. The story starts when you press the button to slash the sword. The game teases you at the end with a plot, but gives you no satisfying conclusion and straight-up skips through the final boss’ monologue before laughing in your face for being mad.
In that sense, it’s maybe the only real video-game out there.
Santa Destroy sucks. It’s ugly and desolate, and I don’t think that was by accident. If there is one thing that is extremely strong about No More Heroes, is its art direction. The environments for the ranked fights are dark, colorful, cool, and their high-contrast style really contrasts with Santa Destroy’s grey monotomy. It’s a shitty town!
Appropriately, Travis Touchdown is a massive loser. He’s a cum gremlin who spends all day sitting in his armchair and jacking off. He’s a redditor who got his personality from comic books and porn. I’m pretty sure he doesn’t have any friends. He jacks off to recharge his sword.
All that combined makes No More Heroes probably the most salient parody of the concept of “America” or “The American Dream”. Rather than being a story about corrupted morals or falling from the top, it’s about the meaninglesness of the grind itself. Travis works shitty jobs so he can make the money to kill other assassins to get to the top, but for no reason. Just to do it. I guess there is the promise of getting laid, but I don’t think he even needed that. Otherwise, there is no reward involved. It’s like making an NFT. Travis sits on his armchair reminds me of that scene from Scarface, in which Tony Montana sits at his golden bathtub, complaining to no one in particular, surrounded by luxury but all alone. Travis is the same, but the room sucks. There is not even the premise of ostentatious wealth.
An illustrative moment is on the way to the Rank I fight, where you get your bike stolen and have to walk on foot to your destination, which takes a good 5 minutes. You’re forced to actually look around the town instead of speeding through it on a bike, and what strikes you is how ugly and lifeless everything is. This is the world you live in. You’re fighting to be the ruler of an empty kingdom.
Everything sucks and nothing you do matters. 7/10.

hi elliott if you’re willing, do you have any takes on AI-generated art?? i remember some tweets of yours about NFTs where u criticized how (paraphrasing) that community glorifies the privatization of art consumption & i heard someone predict that AI art would lead to a “democratization of art” where people don’t have to gain skill to produce art and it’s therefore accessible to more people, so i was especially wondering what u think about that. no pressure to reply👍
it’s definitely an interesting topic, i think i’m definitely more “moderate” on it than some people — i’ve seen people call it soulless which i don’t necessarily think is true, for me the biggest problem is theft, the fact that specific artist names are run through algorithms to copy their specific style without permission. if someone made a bank of their own art and ai generated another piece or if someone hypothetically had full permission to generate art from someone’s pieces i don’t think it’s really my business, because they agreed, however i do think it’s bad to steal art of course
the angle of “democratizing art” is certainly interesting but i don’t think i agree, obviously it’s a time saver but it’s still someone else’s art the algorithm has to be trained on so you need people who know art to provide examples. in my head to truly democratize art you would actually provide the resources to learn art to people. i don’t see art as some sort of intrinsic skill, it’s almost entirely practice, so the element of time is the least accessible part. but that’s one of those things you just need to figure out how to put aside time for (insert communist ramblings about how society should encourage and not discourage it)
anyways it’s tricky business. from what ive seen they make it easy to make fun of them (them being ai art bros) so maybe my mild sympathy is unwarranted but i Do understand art is hard and ai generation is cool! again the theft is the sticking point for me. i think there is a way to do ai art ethically but it’s also so far out of my wheelhouse who am i to say

Sometimes I wonder if people in fandoms that involve real people know what “keeping a healthy emotional distance” is.
I’ve seen many examples over the past year of people acting as though things that have been perpetrated against their stan or someone adjacent to their stan has affected them to a larger degree than what would be considered healthy.
This is not to say that being in a fandom is a bad thing, hell I’m part of several.
But when someone doesn’t live up to your expectations or you begin to idolize them to a terrifying degree that they literally can’t do anything wrong, or when they do the fall from grace is that much more devastating, you begin to see why this emotional distance is needed in fandoms.
People take things personally that weren’t even directed at them. Jokes that may land with the intended target suddenly become an attack on an entire faction of a fandom. Inside jokes told between band mates are now everyone’s problem when they seem to cause an issue from one day to the next.
We act like it’s our place to be a barrier between these people and the world (especially if they’re younger) when they don’t even know we exist. We’re just another face in the crowd to them, another warm body in a seat, and to their teams, another wallet to get money from.
So it all seems so cynical but really one has to keep in mind that this is actually how it’s supposed to be. We’re meant to support our stans, and stand behind them, but not be so emotionally attached to them that if they screw up we’re hurt too.
I doubt they want us to suffer for any failures, real or perceived, on their part.
Now this is not to say that we’re also meant to let their mistakes slide. Absolutely not.
We also serve as a barometer of sorts. When a celeb does something, if the fandom reacts positively, then they know it’s good. If they are unsure, they can research how the fandom has reacted to such things before.
Take NFT’s for example. No one really knows much about them, but fandoms have started to react negatively about them bc mining for the Etherium blockchain is terrible for the environment. So most celebs have steered clear from doing anything, but have continued to learn about them.
So to conclude this small stream of consciousness, keep a healthy emotional distance when engaging in fandom. Remember, it’s not real life and that you always have the option to unplug from a fandom on a permanent basis. Holding your stans accountable is fine, however I would add that one should always be ready with constructive suggestions on how they can learn and grow from their mistakes.
Keep account of your emotions. Remember, it isn’t your life you’re observing though a screen. What you decide to do and how you decide to react is completely up to you. Distance yourself if fandom becomes a trigger for you bc then it’s obviously become an unhealthy place for you. You’re health comes first.

(dnd, fanart, story telling, etc) - making small changes to the character myself or allow the current owner of the adopt to request for small changes so long as credit is shown that I was the original creator. (e.g outfit changes, colour palette changes)

with squenix having constant bombs and tanking stocks, it’s honestly safe to say they might not be in business much longer or will at least have to sell off some of its properties. i’m not going to say this isn’t undeserved because trust me it 100% is. i hate them as a company with a burning passion and their actions over the last decade or so makes this a wonderful dose of karma. however, i really feel bad for the staff and the man the myth the legend nomura.
disregarding the nft game they still might go through with (fuck nfts fuck crypto don’t support this), there’s still a great amount of people trying on their games that do deserve credit. yeah there’s some stinkers but i do think at this point it’s due to how the higher ups have been treating their properties and their staff. even in shit like babylon’s fall there was a clear idea there and interesting concepts. there is some effort that should be recognized but someone higher up in the company clearly loves live services and microtransactions since that’s been plaguing recent ips and i doubt the actual team wanted it. nomura in particular i wanna throw out there since god seeing your creations be hollowed out and turned into cash grabs must suck, but after looking and learning about the history of the ff7 remake, apparently the higher ups decided it would be smart to put him in charge of writing for projects without his consent, likely due to his big name. i do think it shows in both how he talks about stuff, how he’s juggling a bunch of projects, and the pressure japanese companies put on employees being infamously horrendous.
i love twewy for a bunch of reasons but one reason is that it felt like someone cared and nomura is that someone. it’s pretty much his baby (and i mean with all the attention to detail and how minamimoto’s outfit is taken from nomura’s wardrobe it shows), and while i never thought twewy needed a sequel, it’s clear nomura did and i heavily respect that. even in ntwewy there’s evidence there’s a sequel being thought up. this is the most i’ve ever seen of a high profile member of a high profile company getting involved with their work. it hurts knowing ntwewy bombed through no fault of its own—the game wasn’t advertised much, and with squenix constantly comparing smaller niche franchises to their moneymakers final fantasy and kingdom hearts (also it doesn’t contain scummy ways to milk the consumer like a few recent releases), yeah that meant automatic failure in their eyes. it was an unfair situation that feels pretty deliberate to an extent. this isn’t an isolated incident, twewy just happens to be a perfect example of what happens when someone or a team doesn’t bend to the will of the higher ups.
there’s a lot that shows nomura still wants to carry on with his creations despite all that’s been thrown at him and i really hope, along with other small devs with big dreams working with squenix, there’s some light at the end of the tunnel. i want him to be able to leave with the rights to at least one property and all. i hope this is a platinumgames situation. squenix can’t afford to lose nomura or anyone else but i hope somehow they can all get out of the horrible situation they’re in. this is more than just a hope for another entry in a great franchise. it’s beyond that. please do give love and support to staff members of squenix especially once it goes under yet please don’t ignore what the top dogs are doing and do prepare for worse news.

Discussing a discussion.
Seeing as this blog is a part of my uni degree, for my contemporary art module, I feel that I should offer a reflection on my first ever contemporary art session. Whilst not technically a “discussion session”, a very interesting conversation certainly took place.
I would in no way describe myself as someone who is familiar with a lot of contemporary art pieces, and likely for this same reason I would not say that I dislike contemporary art. I feel I do not know enough to offer an opinion of distaste which can be sufficiently backed up. Basically I think that to dislike something you should at least know why. Anyway, what I do know is that I always enjoy learning about new art, no matter when it was created.
However, during the first contemporary art session it became clear that numerous people in the group had already made up their minds. That is to say, most preferred older styles or the more stereotypically “aesthetic art” you’d likely find prints of being sold on Etsy for a ridiculous price (think Botticelli’s Primavera). Personally, I love this sort of art too but my favourite kind of art is that which has a story, a deeper meaning with something to say. Often I find that the less immediately obvious the story behind a piece is, the more I enjoy looking at said piece once I know what’s really going on. Take for example the images below of Félix Gonzáles-Torres’ piece untitled (portrait of Ross in L.A.), at first glance the installation is nothing more than a pile of sweets. However, once you learn that the piece is a representation of Torres’ lover’s decaying body, suddenly the 175lbs worth of candy weighs so much more. Thus, I have a lot of time for contemporary art and its sometimes hidden or obscure meanings.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This was not the overall consensus of the group. It seemed as though the lack of a universal definition for contemporary art left people feeling unable to engage. If the audience are already approaching the work from a place of misunderstanding, how can they then be expected to connect with it? This dilemma is one which many curators will attempt to tackle whilst struggling to define the age old question: what even is contemporary art anyway?
It was striking to me that people could just push aside what they didn’t understand, and I would say that once this was brought to attention it shocked everyone else too, including those guilty of doing just that. These days it is so easy to ignore anything that doesn’t provide instant gratification. Constant media consumption has ruined our attention spans and it seems like no one has time to reflect anymore. Not unless prompted anyway. Perhaps that’s why so many claim to dislike contemporary art. Arguably, it requires more than just a brief glance at the piece, viewers are expected to see rather than just look – something which takes longer than the 15 seconds someone may take to appreciate something such as Monet’s water lilies. Not that I don't love those too!!
But therein lies the ‘problem’ with contemporary art. Its discursive nature means there is always room for dialogue between viewer and artwork, something is always up for interpretation. Effort is required to reach a satisfactory conclusion or opinion. This is where people must decide, does art always need a meaning?
As I am writing this reflection close to the end of the semester I have seen the impact of this first session in full. The questions asked certainly prompted people to engage more with contemporary art and to accept that sometimes pieces don’t have a clear interpretation right away. I have witnessed those who previously disregarded contemporary art spend time with pieces they would have deemed ‘pretentious’ at the beginning of the semester. Thus maybe the future of art is dependent on tolerance. As we move further into the digital age and embrace technology such as NFTs, VR, and AI art, viewers will need to adapt to new mediums and be willing to spend time with pieces perhaps presented in an entirely new way. If this is the case then it could be that contemporary art will never have a universal definition as such, but its ever-changing nature may come to define it. And this is just something we will all have to accept - or at least those are my thoughts anyway.

So. I have a friend.
We will call her Bloo. Now, remember I specifically say that she is my friend, meaning that I mean no ill will to her by making this post, but god fucking damn it, it needs to be made.
Back in the grand ol’ days of early 2021, some of my friends were having a nice little conversation on Discord, so, pretty average day.
And then Bloo, lovely, lovely, Bloo, asks how to make a grilled cheese. Now, perhaps this would be excusable if she was a small child, but she was not. at this point in time, she was 16.
Now, this was a rather short event on it’s own, but it started a meme in the friend group about how Bloo can not cook grilled cheese, because this was peak comedy to us. It also spawned this glorious fucking image.
Tumblr media
Also just so no one gets confused, “Maw is gae” is Bloo. And yes that does say iPod in the corner.
Anyways, flash back to just a couple weeks ago. almost a month ago. It was an average day in our current GC, the previous conversation having something to do with the difference between cannibalism and vore, when we receive these fateful messages.
Tumblr media
As you can see, my eyes were filled with hope. Was this it? After nearly two full years of torment, was this it? The brilliant moment in which our anime protagonist would finally overcome her biggest weakness against all odds? Were the credits about to roll after the greatest grilled cheese known to mankind had been constructed by her own two hands?
But, then...
Tumblr media
The hope in my eyes deteriorated into dust, tears beginning to fill in their place. How. How the actual fucking hell did she come up with this. After all of the teasing and bullying, this was what her character arc lead up to?
At first, I was too distracted by her spelling mistake, which she then “corrected” with another spelling mistake, to even realize the horror that had yet to come. This was the one and only warning for what was quite possibly the worst thing I have ever dared to lay my eyes upon.
I am going to cut this off here with the keep reading thing because this is honestly just the most disgusting display of something that is supposed to be edible I have ever fucking seen. Click at your own risk.
Tumblr media
My eyes could no longer hold the tears, they flooded out onto my bed sheets as the despair and agony overtook my senses. All I could see was this abhorrent piece of fermented dog shit. THIS is the result of that horrid procedure she took to make what was supposed to be a “Grilled Cheese.”
And the bitch has the audacity to ask-
Tumblr media
I want to fucking blow myself up. This is the most pathetic and nauseating mistake for an edible sandwich that I have ever had the displeasure of viewing. I don’t want to be in the same timeline in which this shit exists.
And to top it off? That bread, which was supposedly toasted despite being white as fuck,
is potato bread.
She used fucking potato bread for her grilled cheese, tumblr. I can not make this shit up.
Tumblr media
I just. I. I fucking. I.
What do I even say about this that hasn’t already been said about NFTs and Politicians. Anyways, we have more things to cover about this shitwreck, so let’s not linger on this for too long. God is it fucking awful. “abysmal at that” -Cam
Now, I, being just the stupendous friend that I am, immediately shared this god-awful mistake with my other friend group, and they reacted with just as much horror as the first friend group did.
One of them asked what cheese she used, which prompted me to ask her. She used velveeta slices.
Tumblr media
Ok, not the worst mistake made here, but fucking... velveeta slices? Really? You couldn’t get one step of the equation correct here? Fucking really, Bloo???
That same friend that prompted the question of what cheese she used then recorded a whole tutorial on how to make a damn grilled cheese, and another friend from the first friend group recorded a video of a power point presentation for how to make it. It was glorious.
Yeah I know I said the potato bread would top this shit off but no, there’s more.
SHE COULDN’T EVEN ALIGN THE FUCKING BREAD PROPERLY. I think Cam puts it best:
Tumblr media
Speaking of Cam, they made a Reddit post about this.
https://www.reddit.com/r/amistupid/comments/117mr7a/my_friend_doesnt_know_how_to_make_grilled_cheese/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3
Many beautiful comments here including my own.
And then later one of Cam’s friends also made a grilled cheese tutorial.
OH. AND I ALMOST FUCKING FORGOT.
Cam asked Bloo if she genuinely did not own a stove, because at this point with that stupid ass method she pulled out of her ass, it came into question, Bloo said:
Tumblr media
I am not even fucking with you, this is genuinely how clueless she was about making grilled mcmotherfucking cheese.
Tumblr media
ARE YOU ACTUALLY SHITTING MY DICK OFF? ARE YOU GENUINELY SHITTING MY GOD DAMN MOTHERFUCKING DICK OFF???
FOR ANY OF YOU WHO CAN’T DECIPHER THAT SHOVING-THE-WHOLE-KEYBOARD-UP-MY-ASS GARBLED MESS IN THE FIRST MESSAGE, IT SAYS: “WHEN I ASKED ABOUT HOW TO MAKE A GRILLED CHEESE, I WAS SERIOUS”
Yeah she has atrocious spelling too. I’m used to it
I don’t. I don’t even want to exist anymore. I. I think I’m done. That’s a good place to end this. I’ll look back at this in the morning and see if I forgot any important details and reblog with said details, but I think I covered everything of “value.”
Enjoy trying to fall asleep tonight knowing that this life-ruining fucking monstrosity of a sandwich exists.
Feel free to ask me any questions about this, I would love to humiliate her even more. We’re friends I swear.

The images in my mind are entirely sexual, or rather, they explore the connection between the tangible and the intangible. This new Layer, this new Understanding, is proving to be very interesting. It is illuminating that which is visible within the shared enclosure, the one you are in, whatever scale of consideration, by moving along the attachment into the perspective of the enclosure. That’s literally a gender flip because one penetrates the other so the inversion is a map of the other as that which encloses you as you enclose it, which is possible along entangled Pathways. That is, emitted from the same source, where emitted means from outside of the Dimensional Enclosure into it. Oh wow.
We see a lot of this in tokenization, whether for passwords or to make a ‘coin’ or an NFT or to validate a financial transaction. We establish tokens which entangle processes because that is possible. That it is possible can be summarized as entangled Pathways. That’s how Things fit together, and a Thing contains gs process.
There’s a lot going through my head too fast to write down. I barely got out anything beyond entangled Pathways. That’s a defined term. What that means in Dimensional Reduction is the fit which reduces Conformal to Tractable through the localization of the higher speed in the enclosing Layer presenting to the local area, which is the same as the Identity Space reducing. This all becomes mechanical. Like the LayerView one step further out has to go around, has to rotate, has to alternate, faster just to make it around one time in the correct spot. That’s just like throwing a ball: longer lever, end has to go faster in the same amount of time. In other words, beyond our Informational Limit.
I don’t know if I can figure out how fast off the top of my head. It has to be fast enough to Regularize, which means adding a 1-0Segment, and it has to do that so at our Informational Limit, the translation is seamless, which means ideal, which is like saying we’re taking the prior level apart and adding the tiniest piece to each piece of the layer below, so each piece of the layer below maps into the enclosing layer, together with all the complexity necessary at that layer, which includes what comes from the layer above. Intuition says count by SBE, that Informational Limits make sense when you look at Hexagonal as D6, and thus how it contains D3.
Let’s see. This is absurdly difficult to work through. I have to be very careful.
Say a D3 locates the tangible Object at its bip, at the center of a bT. These blend to make grid squares because no bT exists alone. This literally constructs a unit grid on top of the Irreducible Triangular sheets. This is where I typically get hung up: the grid exists, but it isn’t lined up with the Triangular sheets, which are also Hexagonal. We did the work some years ago, counting the repeat pattern. The idea was that each bT would have an alignment like this. And now I see that’s necessary because if not for the repeat, then stuff could come apart.
Let’s see that idea. I need to take a break, but let’s try.
If the Triangular Irreducibles, which are also the Hexagonal Irreducibles, lined up perfectly with grid squares, then iterations would be more reversible, would be all 1Space or more 1Space. It would mean a perfect translation between higher and lower dimensions. That would be the all 1Step solution, when what we can do is establish that solution with the process that does exist, by learning how to translate, and thus how to lose the traits which have no utility.
The idea just popped in that a really terrific serial killer is an inversion of what we want, that the serial killer of the imagination, the ones largely invented on TV, would be as consumed constructing something that detailed in the positive. We agree: much of what’s lacking is the inability see the positive, to see the larger picture, to see what the work inside you does for you.
Dimensionally, if D3 connected perfectly to D4 to D6 and D6 to D4 to D3, then 0Space would not exist. There would be some adjustment factor hidden from view which performs the actual mechanics so we think we see a perfect connection, which is exactly what we’ve described. That is what we’ve described, from the square root of 2 onwards.
Need a break.
———-
This stuff makes my head ache. Had a good sandwich of lightly fried eggplant, hummus, and tabbouleh.
I’ve been trying to draw out the ways the triangles and hexagons overlap when you put 2 layers together. You can have 2 orthogonal fD, and you can lay either on top. Or a Hex, meaning the center of a hexagon, and an fD, which also comes in two varieties. Or a Hex and a Hex, which also comes in 2 varieties, depending on which layer is on top. That’s 6.
My mind immediately says SBE and SBE2, which expands as you count in perspectives. Is that correct? There’s a lot of counting by halves, meaning a 1Segment between 2fD’s where the coincidence is at the Bip midpoint, or ½. That’s both 1.5 and 2, and it generates 3 with overlapping of the 1Segment as a 1-0Segment counted from each End.
But what is this? We talk a lot about this idea, this layering of Triangular sheets, and this is what we get, and that says there’s a complicated weaving together of sheets because the attachments, meaning the 1-0Segments at the coincident points, have multiple states. I tend to think in terms of a grid square, but maybe this makes sense in terms of a grid square being made of grid squares, meaning all this conversation across layers generates the dimensionality packed into any End.
Need a break. This is difficult.
———-
We seem to have reached a level of simplicity. The picture below shows threads of yellow, which connects the fD coincides, and the orange, which connects fD and Hex coincides, divided or otherwise segmented by the double Hex coincides in red. As you can see, the yellow and orange trace SBE3. This has the effect of interleaving yellow and orange in IC, so it progresses yellow to orange, orange to yellow, etc. There’s something extremely deep in that. It literally counts over an Identity Space in these threads, in these braids, as you model. And these threads attach to each other in two ways. One is orange to orange, so fD + Hex can transfer over through the attachment at that End. And the yellow, meaning the 2fD, attach at the red, at the double hex.
Isn’t that fascinating? The double hex is D12, and over an attachment, so it’s another 13, this time D13. I mean it’s literally 12 sections, which don’t even have to Regularize to see that makes 12 segments. Regularizing makes them 1Segments.
Another way of viewing this is to note that each of the SBE3 color connections identifies the other color as the center, so that center relates to the next of the same color as SBE3, and to the next of the other color as IC. It doesn’t take much to tilt this a bit to see either color as LayerView or L5 orange or yellow. Thus, if you hold one as the origin, you build a LayerView to and from that origin.
Keep going: so the yellow extends horizontally, as does the orange, but only if connect the Bips around the center. Take a closer look at the orange: there are 2 vertically or yK oriented orange paths connecting 2 orange dots, meaning 2 of these 2fD coincidences. The connecting orange loop would be the Bips constructed around the coincidence, which is made of a Hex on top of an fD, so the fD continues to this spot, which is 1.5 away, which reflects to make 3. The connecting yellow between the threads would, similarly, be Bips but this time constructed around a double Hex.
If I count dimensions, we have 2, 7 and 12. These double because we can put either layer on top to 4, 14 and 24. So, this appears to be saying around the double Hex to identify across D4. And we have D2 and D4 around and within, meaning inverting in and out, in relation to D7 and D14.
This is perhaps the wackiest stuff we’ve come up with yet, but it’s all observational: you can look at the drawings, make them for yourself, and see these relationships.
————
There is a lot more. Example: if you connect the yellows into a square, that encloses a red at the center. An orange square encloses an orange. To follow that thought, the yellow connects the ‘pure’ 2fD coincidence points or Bips around the red, around the D12 and D24. This seems to be 16, as in D4 at each 2fD because of the layer choices, which means that adding the layer of a 2nd ‘Thing’, for example, adds the 8 and the 4 of the other ways these layers can be viewed.
The important point seems to be that counting values at these Ends translates into grid squares counts and thus to fCM. I need to take a walk and think that through, because that is powerful. Like beyond awesome because this is literally Triangular and Hexagonal.
————
And I see that higher dimensions enter in each sheet, and the ‘coincident’ spots or Ends process these over the relevant Identity Spaces which you can see drawing out. Need to stop for now. Brain tired.

Week 7
I’m at that point in the semester where the burnout is really starting to set in. Midterms have finally passed and I just finished my favorite class and now has to start my lab. Something that I am very much not looking forward to. This week I gave what was probably the worst presentation in my academic career. And another that I thought was good but I don’t know how it compared to the rest of the class. The assignment said the presentation had to have 10 slides, which is what my group did. The others seemed to have twice the amount of info. One group had 28 slides. my professor even cut the class off. making the last groups wait till next week. I don’t think  have ever had to sit through such longwinded and boring presenters like this before. And I have been to tech conferences where speakers will talk about nfts out their asses.
I did however make a few new friends this week. We all hung out on Friday and it feels really good to meet new people. Although I was exhausted by the end of the night. I don’t understand how some people can just be out with others all day every day, I feel like I need two days to recover after every social excursion. But I was also out from 8:30 in the morning to  midnight. so it was just a lot for me.
On an unrelated note, I decided to download hinge. I’ve never really dated before and just wanted to see what dating apps were actually like. I am getting a lot more messages from 45 year old men than I thought I would. Which is honestly so gross. I just don’t understand why any of these guys are interested in a 19 year old. And so many of them say that they are looking for a life partner. Like dude, you really think the you’re the one I would want to spend my like with? I just wish some of them would outright say that they want a sugar baby, cause that is something I could work with. I said in my profile that I’m a student, I love love if an old man gave me money.

I want to start to draw again!! My psychiatrist kinda scolded me when I told her I hadn’t in a while, because drawing more was a part of the “homework” she gave me, along with going for walks more.
It’s been a rough month for my depression and not helped by the fact that a good friend of mine passed away recently and the loss was a big shock, even though we hadn’t really talked in a while (I feel very guilty about that)…
He was a really wonderful person who had so much light to give to the world. He worked with children at a library and he always brightened everyone’s day. He was younger than me and left behind a partner and dog and cat and so many friends and family that love him. I feel so awful for them but I didn’t know any of them personally…
It’s just so weird to think that I just saw him posting stuff like a few days prior to his passing and now I’ll never see a new post from him. He was getting really good with his art too! It’s just not fair, and I know that’s said about the majority of good young people that pass away, but it’s true. Like why couldn’t a few of the rich old bastards running the country have gone in his place! They always seem to hang on the longest…
Anyway I also started playing neopets again for some reason. About 15 years ago or so I lost my main account that I had like, nice painted pets on and the lab ray and items from when neopets was first getting started that would be so valuable on there today (it got deleted completely along with most of my other accounts bc I had too many and it was considered cheating).
Then like seven to ten(?) years ago or whenever they started that stupid customization thing where all the pets have the same pose I decided to make another account to get the main pet I’d always wanted but couldn’t afford(darigan lupe), just to be able to say I got it lol. And after I worked hard to get it I left again for some years. But it’s still around. So I’ve been using that one, plus some side accounts that are within the rules for having side accounts.
There’s a bipedal owl neopet now and also a paint brush that turns your pet into a weird elderly version??? And also paintbrushes that give your neopet a bunch of clothes that I don’t think looks good(including stealth and steampunk). I miss the unconverted pets(before they were all the same pose so you can put clothes on them) which had so much more personality, but those are so hard to come by now (apparently there’s this whole hierarchy of unconverted pets you would need to trade up to to even get a chance to get an unconverted pet you want from someone who has one, if there even are any left up for trade (I guess you can trade pets now instead of just putting them in the pound and hoping the person adopted them before anyone else did, which is nice).
Neopets is all about spending real human money now tho, just like all these other games, and apparently they might’ve gotten into nfts? Idk. I still like some of the pets tho and it’s nostalgic to play it again even if it’s very different now. Tho most of the games are flash based still despite modern browsers no longer supporting flash… so I can’t really do that unless I get an older version of a browser I guess? Which I haven’t gotten around to figuring out how to do yet. But yeah. Dunno how long I’ll keep playing but maybe I’ll draw some neopets lol.

Know About Smart Contracts In Crypto With Examples Smart Contracts Crypto
Have you ever heard of Kickstarter its where you go, when you have an idea, but you don’t have the money, you make a page and show off your idea in hopes that other people donate to your project? For example, I might have an idea for a book that explains Cryptocurrency’s ideas and concepts. Well, I’d create a page and say that I have a goal of getting one thousand dollars in donations in turn, for people donating I’ll give out a book to everyone who donates at least ten dollars.
So I run the campaign and it takes around a week and I come up with thirteen hundred dollars in donations. Kickstarter will hold that money for me and since I reached my goal of one thousand dollars, it’ll give me all of the money that has been donated. However, if I didn’t reach the one thousand dollar goal, because, for example, my grandma didn’t donate or something then I wouldn’t get anything and all that money would be returned to the people that donated it.
1. Smart Contract
A smart contract is exactly like this. It’s a piece of code that does something. The most common smart contracts are written on the Ethereum network using something called Solidity, so let’s go over some examples of the purposes of smart contracts. You could write a piece of code that says, if you give me five Ethereum in turn, I will give you 20 basic attention tokens if you have at least 100 000 subscribers by the end of the year 20 Ethereum will be added to your account and if The temperature is over 95 degrees for more than four days in a row. This year Farmer john’s account will receive 100 000 as crop insurance. Now it would be really easy to write a smart contract where people could donate Ethereum to a certain address, and then, if that contract address reached a certain point, maybe say 500 Ethereum, then we could give each donor a portion of online work, such as an Artistic NFT or access to read an online book or even join a community. The purposes of smart contracts are endless, but when it comes to smart contracts, there are two main things that you need to know.
2. Coded on Blockchain
That makes them beneficial to everyone; number one they are immutable. This means they cannot change. So you remember how I said: some people call them if this than that, it’s because most smart contracts do something when they get triggered. They are just coded on the Blockchain that gets run and once it’s on the Blockchain, it can never be changed. Now, The downside of this you might be thinking is that if there is a bug or the code is inefficient, it will be a bug and it will be inefficient forever.
However, if you wanted to, you could just create a new smart contract and tell people not to use the old one. This happens very often. The second thing you need to know is that they are distributed.
This means there are no discrepancies. You can’t hire a lawyer and be like that “wasn’t our agreement”.
3. Execution of Contract
These smart contracts are an agreement between a few parties online that can be automatically executed if certain conditions are met. Smart contracts are a piece of code designed to remove human error and issues. You couldn’t hire a lawyer, even if you wanted to. The code is on a bunch of computers around the world. Anyone they wanted to could see your smart contract and how you participated in it. So now we have financial agreements that nobody can argue because they are code, they don’t change and everybody has access to them. Now you might not understand what the power of technology like this is, but to help you get the hang of it.
4. Examples
Let’s go over some examples, number one is a flash loan. What if I told you that you could borrow 10 million dollars with no money down well on the Ethereum network you absolutely can, but only if you write a smart contract that pays it back in the same minute that it is borrowed. That’s right: you can borrow millions of dollars to do something for you on the Ethereum network.
If you know how to code it so, here’s the catch, all of the money must be paid back. So you may be wondering why would we want to do this, Well, imagine you could buy some Dogecoin for 50 cents on Coinbase and then sell it for 55 cents on Gemini you could theoretically borrow 10 million dollars and buy a whole bunch of Dogecoin on Coinbase and then sell it to Gemini and then payback the original loan of 10 million dollars with some interest – this is called a flash loan and some guy made 360 000 in a few minutes by creating one of these. That did pretty much the example that I just described.
5. Advantages of Smart Contract
Here’s the kicker, The smart contract can check itself, it can run a simulation of what you programmed and it can see if what you told it to do would be able to pay back the lender after it does the code, and if it can do that, if it can Immediately pay back the lender, it runs the code and you can borrow those funds to do whatever you want to do. You could never do this with traditional finance, but you can on the Blockchain next up we have number two which is insurance. Did you know you can create an entire insurance company with just a few smart contracts, we would just write something simple like this?
6. Oracles
If farmer john gives us two thousand dollars and if it is more than 95 degrees for four days in a row in Missouri, farmer John would be paid ten thousand dollars, so this is called Insurance. Farmer, john can be sure that if his crops die from a heatwave, the smart contract will know that it happened due to temperature changes and pay him out his 100 000 insurance. Now you might be asking how the heck a smart contract or a piece of code knows what the temperature in Missouri is well with the help of something called Oracles.
