Anyways here's Yhwach's logic for picking Uryu as his successor. And he's got a point! Uryu's mother was an "impure" Quincy, which by blood-purity logic would make Uryu one as well. But he didn't get zapped by Yhwach's Auswahlen. I don't blame Yhwach for being intrigued. The idea that one of his children is beyond his control...well, you can see why he'd want to keep that person close. After all, there is no room for doubt.

i have a brain problem that prevents me from understanding people who need so much specifically newly-released TV shows that they're upset by the prospect of going a few months without new ones being produced
