OBVIOUSLY THERE ARE SPOILERS UNDER THE CUT, SO YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! I will update this post with all the new info we get.
In Season 17, Amy (Amber Marshall) and the rest of the Heartland family know better than most that while dreams can sometimes come true, more often life takes us in unexpected directions. The new season is all about embracing the unexpected. It’s about new experiences and taking the path less traveled. In Season 17 the Bartlett-Fleming family will find themselves excited for the future and ready to embrace new adventures, challenges, and relationships. But no matter how much things may change, Amy, Lou (Michelle Morgan), Jack (Shaun Johnston), and Tim (Chris Potter) will continue to fight for what they believe in while staying rooted in the land that has been in the Bartlett-Fleming family for generations.

HBO Max New Releases: December 2020
https://ift.tt/eA8V8J
Time and time again during this year’s pandemic, movie studios have had to make the best of a bad situation. HBO Max’s list of new releases for December 2020 comes along with the most extreme example yet.
WarnerMedia undoubtedly had big plans for Wonder Woman 1984 when it scheduled it for a holiday release last year. After moving it to the summer, however, the conglomerate had to delay its theatrical release time and time again. Now HBO Max is the lucky winner of the saga, as it gets to premiere the long-awaited sequel on its servers on Dec. 25.
While Wonder Woman 1984 is definitely the headline this month, there are some other intriguing streaming options for HBO Max in December. The month plays host to a whole host of high-powered documentaries like Heaven’s Gate: The Cult of Cults (Dec. 3), Alabama Snake (Dec. 9), and the Tiger Woods documentary Tiger (Dec. 15).
There isn’t much going on on the TV side of things. His Dark Materials is set to run its season 2 finale on Dec. 28. But at that point, everyone will likely be on their fourth Wonder Woman rewatch.
Here is the full list of everything coming to and leaving HBO Max in December 2020.

Notes - episode numbers 8 to 12 were used for the expanded half-hour versions of the original Super Sunday shorts.
Season 1 (1 to 26) was aired on weekends and seasons 2 (28 to 57) and 3 (58 to 66) were intended for weekday afternoons.  Due to Sunbow, Marvel and Toei all having reduced workloads as the toy-cartoon era came to an end, writing and production of the latter seasons was turned around quickly enough that there was more choice available for broadcast order.
Video Wars and Homeland, Heartland were broadcast as part of season 3 due to the heavy focus on Video and Danse respectively.  Had the toyline continued into 1988, they would have been sold as part of their second year on shelves.  Beauty And The Rock Promoter received similar treatment for unclear reasons.  Though it may be because of the general plot of Jem being an actress (The main theme of the cancelled 1988 toyline).

What movies/ tv/ media would you recommend?
Idk anon, I'm getting old and tired honestly. Of newer media especially. I remember growing up with more diverse, more fun media that had many decent stories focused on girls and women, and way less graphic sex and gore. Now there's that and idk just so much bad media. Here's some stuff I watched recently with snippets of what I thought about it (most of them will be netflix):
1. In The Dark - it's about a blind woman and her life. Shes messed up and troubled. Iirc it had sex in the first episode, but it focused more on her story than her body and the series itself was entertaining
2. Russian Doll - a woman dies and relives the same day over and over. 1st episode was bizarre and funny. I don't remember it being too explicit, although there is a lot of liberal, sex positivity, kink stuff talked about in mainly background conversations
3. The Witcher - it's fantasy and anyone who knows me knows I'm desperate for some decent fantasy. There was too much gore, the 1st episode was boring and tried too hard and reeked of male stupidity, and the series in general pandered to men with female nudity. Start at episode 2 and save yourself some trouble imo
4. Midsommar - a fictional pagan swedish festival that probably has swedish people upset and could've been set anywhere. Like I said before I found it boring and I am tired of Ari Aster
5. Heartland - a show about a family and their farm in Canada. The whitest and straightest thing I have ever seen, but I like horses so here I am, at season 11
6. Anne with an E - loosely based on Anne of Green Gables. A lot of people don't like this one because it's modernized and darker, but I think it works well, especially for bringing up still relevant issues such as feminism and indigenous rights. I am very mad it was canceled
7. Alias Grace - an immigrant Irish woman is in prison for the murder of two people. I am currently watching this and so far it has not disgusted me with sex or gore. It does have heavy themes of women's issues, such as class conditions, abortion, asylum conditions, etc.
8. Beauty and the Beast - a remake where the beauty is a detective and the beast is a government experiment. Iirc it was very straight and fairly repetitive. There's only so much you can do with this plot
9. Good Girls - women robbers. By far the best thing on this list so far imo. The first season is hilarious, although again it is very straight
10. Kate & Leopold - if you like romcoms and haven't seen this one, you really should. It is cute and probably one of my favorite movies tbh
11. Schitts Creek - hilarious, just go watch it
12. Free Rein - it's about horses and I think we've established I like horses. The show is for kids so no bs in it
13. Mad Money - women robbers again. A great movie, I found it very funny
14. Shera - who doesn't like Shera? Also for kids so
15. Chambers - a girl gets a heart transplant and things go very wrong. I found it creepy and fascinating. Someone else needs to watch it so we can discuss. I had feelings(tm)
16. Hart of Dixie - a dr from New York moves to the south and hilarity ensues. I found it cute & entertaining. The main character is funny. Very straight again though
17. Holiday in the Wild - another cute romcom movie plus elephants. Who doesn't like elephants?
Popular movies I saw and liked:
1. Frozen 2 - I like Elsa, what can I say. Technically, it even had a horse so
2. Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle - one of my favorite newer movies tbh
3. Thor: Ragnarok - personally, I would've hired Taika to direct everything after this
4. Black Panther - it's well done and a beautiful movie (all the colors, good messages, etc.)
5. Ghostbusters - the "new" one ofc as it's the only one that matters
6. Wonder Woman - it's also well done despite my criticisms of it
I think that sums up nost of my recent media consumption tbh, minus a few more Christmas movies which are ofc mandatory at that time no matter how bad. As you can see several things aren't new so I re-watch stuff a lot more than not and if I dislike something usually I don't finish it

ahhh I love the OC ask thing!! Would you mind doing 9, 15, 17, 26, and 34?
9. Do you have a faceclaim / voiceclaim for your OC?
Not at all (beyond me creating them in a time I was voice acting for IAMP and I vowed I could not be the one to voice them because I was already using up all my voices for other characters lmao)
and no calvin doesn’t have the Rural AB High School Boy voice EVEN THOUGH he was inspired by rural ab high school boys i knew. maybe mac does
and i don’t have face claims but sometimes I randomly encounter people that look like my ocs like that time it was a hot summer day and I was walking home from the grocery store unintentionally following this guy like ‘is that ed’ (AND SOMETIMES they interact with me and I die like that time i accidentally met IRL calvin on a plane)
15. If your OC could have any pet, what would they choose? Why?
Edward has been a dog person since birth. Aside from the passage in Cecil E. Denny’s memoir that I based this comic off, I was recently reading a passage from Alexander Ross’ accounts that was basically like “the wife doesn’t need her blanket but GOD FORBID the husband doesn’t have his dogs and the dogs don’t have their ribbons and bells” and thats ed lmao. However, he doesn’t have dogs at the moment because he no longer has the excuse that dog sledding is a Necessary and Important activity, so in his quest for Necessary and Important tasks he’s currently looking into urban chicken keeping (which is a legal loophole he has been flouting since the 1920s that livestock aren’t supposed to ‘run amok in the streets of edmonton’... which they won’t do if they’re in his backyard...
Calvin has owned animals of many kinds since he was a sprout as well and while he loves them all and has said goodbye to many, his current lifestyle of penthouse living and travelling often isn’t super conducive to having a pet (his ideal would obviously be sugarfoot from heartland lmao). However, he does have at least one horse, possibly dogs and a barn cat here or there (which Caroline keeps track of) and though cattle aren’t pets Calvin will still act like his are (which Bert takes care of)
17. How do they make a living? What kind of job do they want / not want? What is their dream job? What do they think of their current job?
This is a good question because there’s not really any hard and fast rule about how an avatar Has to make a living. Edward currently is working in some capacity for the City (as mentioned in chapter 1) because for him it’s a form of self care (even though it also stresses him out). It’s something he had been avoiding for a long time because he doesn’t perceive himself as a “responsible” person. I like to think that he’s an anonymous person on the 311 line every so often, but he might be doing other stuff like the odd temp work or bus driving. Ed also sells produce at local markets (but he usually gets his sister to do that for him... or she takes the initiative without telling him maybe).
Of course, both of them have had jobs in O&G (usually Ed being the O and Cal being the G, one blue collar and one white). Ed was on the rigs for a couple seasons during a recent economic boom slash depressive episode and has been many times before - while he won’t disparage the work or the pay he certainly doesn’t enjoy it. Calvin has always been more in the business of speculation and administration and it’s assumed that he gets the vast majority of his income through this and related sources, he also loves to talk and present and to build relationships with people so he really likes his cushy office job. Somewhat ironically he doesn’t always bring that aspect into his municipal/government work because he’s too busy with his “real job”, and when his “real job” falls through in a recession he can either be everyone’s worst nightmare or he can finally redirect all his positive energy towards them (sometimes those overlap) (it depends on the weather).
26. Who is the most important person in their life? Why? Who is the least important to them (that still has an impact and why?
For Ed and Cal the most important people are always each other. I tend to find it weird when they’re not portrayed/perceived as interdependent to the point of being inextricable from each other’s identities. Sure they ignore each other a lot and step over or on each other depending on the situation, but if one ceased to exist the other would probably be thrown into an absolute identity crisis.
Least important is harder, not sure if it’s intended in more of a “couldn’t care less maybe” or “hate this person so much i wish they’d get out of my way”. I’d have to think about that a lot more before I could come up with a good answer, because even people they rarely see they might still care about in one way or another.
34. What social groups and activities does your character attend? What role do they like to play? What role do they actually play, usually?
Just from skimming Calgary histories, marching bands come up a lot so I always laugh at the idea of him in one of those (I always think of that time that Nenshi literally called in the Stampede marching band in to help him sing Let it Go when he lost a hockey bet with the mayor of Anaheim). Calvin would have played every possible role at one point or another in that so I’m not sure what his usual would be. But he likes pomp, circumstance, instruments, uniforms, marching, all that stuff. And then there’s rodeo on top of that too which is a whole other can of worms.
Ed tends to be more anti-social than Calvin and has tried to avoid a lot of things, but he still has his own interests and groups I’m sure. The ski club for instance has been a big deal and I think he’s definitely the sort of person who does guided walks in the river valley or trips out to Elk Island etc. He also gets roped into Fringe and other arts events on occasion by his sister, or he’ll do some volunteering at festivals such as Heritage Days (and performing at them if you’re very very lucky).

my shows :
Doctor Who
That 70′s Show
Skins
Merlin
Outlander/Derry Girls/Heartland/Find Me in Paris/This Is Us (okay, fine, we’ll go with Outlander)
questions:
1. who is your favorite character in 2?
— Jacqueline Beulah Burkhart, hands-down.
2. who is your least favorite character in 1?
— River Song
3. what is your favorite episode of 4?
— It’s so hard to choose just one, but I greatly enjoy the angsty af Arwen in 3x10. (I mean, given my otp’s over the years, it’s no surprise.) As a whole, possibly 1x10.
4. what is your favorite season of 5?
— The second. I know - angsty af, but hey, the COSTUMES.
5. who is your favorite couple in 3?
— Rich and Grace. It was Jal and Chris, and then those two just totally swiped Jal and Chris’ crown, not that I don’t love them almost as much.
6. who is your favorite couple in 2?
— Steven and Jackie (to no one’s surprise.)
7. what is your favorite episode in 1?
— So freaking hard, but The Fires of Pompeii is way up there - closely followed by Vincent and the Doctor and Rosa.
8. what is your favorite episode of 5?
— Ah...2x13. I told you - angsty af.
9. what is your favorite season of 2?
— The sixth.
10. how long have you watched 1?
— Six years.
11. how did you become interested in 3?
— I was bored and I was browsing British programmes on 0123netflix.site. Lol I’d put off the series for years because I’d convinced myself it wouldn’t be of any interest. I did vid it back in 2010, for a friend’s birthday who hardcore otp’ed Freffy. I never knew there were multiple generations and I’d somehow become confused as to think that Freya played a recast Cassie.
12. who is your favorite actor in 4?
— Katie McGrath
13. which do you prefer, 1, 2, or 5?
— One, or it wouldn’t be one. Silly question. If you meant which do I rewatch constantly, that would be two.
14. which show have you seen more episodes of, 1 or 3?
— One because there are way more episodes, in general.
15. if you could be anyone from 4, who would you be?
— I suppose I would be Leon because he’s a knight and one of the only ones who made it out. Guinevere is another possibility, but I don’t fancy the idea of being queen.
16. would a crossover between 3 and 4 work?
— Absolutely; I’m sure one of the science dorks could experiment with time travel to return to Camelot and Panda would take the whole thing in stride. There’s also the spliff to make them think they’re in Camelot and the ensuing mirage.
17. pair two characters in 1 that would make an unlikely but strangely okay couple
Ryan Sinclair and Ace McShane
18. overall, which story has the better storyline, 3 or 5?
— Five by far, though three is phenomenal.
19. which has the better theme music, 2 or 4?
— HANGING OUT, DOWN THE STREET. THE SAME OLD THING, WE DID LAST WEEK. NOT A THING TO DO BUT TALK TO YOU. HELLO WISCONSIN! (Clearly, two.)

TV Show Ask Game 1, 3, 5, 7, 9-29, and 31-49.
TV Show Ask Game
Tumblr media
1. if you could reboot one TV show, which one would it be? Earth 2. But only if they could go back in time with the same cast at those ages. It was a brilliant concept that maybe just came ahead of its time.
3. have you ever quit a show before it finished? why? No. But I've wanted to. Once I start something I like to finish it.
5. what’s your comfort show? H20: Just Add Water. I seem to go back to it when I need something light and fun and that doesn't require a ton of thinking in order to enjoy it. I know it's an Australian teenage drama, but I absolutely adore it and the characters.
7. have you ever been inspired to start a new show based on gifs or memes it has produced? The Man From the High Castle and Westworld.
9. what’s one show you thought you’d hate but turned out to really enjoy? Family Guy. I usually don't care for shows with that kind of humor, but it has turned out to be a true gem and favorite of mine.
10. what’s one show you thought you’d love but turned out to really hate? Sons of Anarchy.
11. which TV show has the best musical soundtrack, in your opinion? Cold Case. And Supernatural.
12. have you ever watched a show just for a specific actor? did you enjoy it? I tried to watch Californication because of my love for David Duchovny. I didn't get past season one, and I haven't had the urge to continue it further.
13. what genre of TV show is your favourite? Science-Fiction.
14. do you tend to stick to one type of TV show (eg, short-form comedy), or are you into many different genres? I love a ton of different genres. I mean, sticking to one type is mega boring. And I'm not always in the mood for something funny or drama or sad or whatever. So I like to have options. Lots and lots of options.
15. do you feel like there are any overrated TV show formats? I'm not really sure what this means so I'm not going to comment.
16. do you feel like there are any underrated TV show formats? I'm not really sure what this means so I'm not going to comment.
17. have you ever written fanfiction for a TV show? I started with CSI and The X-Files a long time ago (2004) and still write it today. So yeah. I've written fanfiction for a television show that I love. Several of them in fact. Fifteen years and still going strong.
18. have you ever drawn fanart for a show? I cannot draw to save my life. So the closest thing I've ever drawn for a show was stick figures for The Walking Dead for another ask meme. LOL.
19. are there any shows on your “to watch” list right now? Oh my heck! There are a ton of shows and movies that are on my list to watch at a later date. I even go through it sometimes and delete things that I've added in the past that I know I will never get around to watching. It drives my husband mad to see all the crap in there that never gets watched.
20. Netflix, Hulu, or Prime originals? I happen to like some of all of them, but my favorites just so happen to be Hulu ones. The Handmaid's Tale and Hollie Hobby!
21. if you could be a guest star on any show, which one would it be? The X-Files but that won't ever happen because I'm pretty sure that the show is likely done this time around. I hope anyway. LOL.
22. if you could write your own TV show, what would it be like? A complete disaster. It would be a feel-good show with characters that care more about others around them than anything else. So yeah! A complete disaster. I'll leave the writing to the professionals and stick to writing fanfiction because it's so much easier.
23. are you a fan of will-they-won’t-they plots? Yes, I am. Some of the best ships have come from just that scenario.
24. how do you feel about bottle episodes? I have a love/hate relationship with them. When I haven't seen a character or a couple of characters for a bit, they are fun to play catch up with them, but then I would rather every episode have a little of everyone than focus on one group or character solely.
25. do you prefer proper opening credits, or a simple title card? A simple title card is all that I need because I'm ready to watch the show. I know who stars in it. I don't need to see it every time.
26. favourite TV show theme song? Pretty Little Liars.
27. which actor do you think deserves an Emmy for their work on TV? Melissa McBride and Andrew Lincoln from The Walking Dead.
28. who would be your dream cameo on your favourite show? Kathryn Erbe in the Zombie Apocolypse would be an absolute dream come true! I'd love to see her play in a scene opposite Melissa McBride's Carol.
29. do you tend to quote TV shows a lot? have you ever started using a word/phrase because of a TV show? No, I don't usually quote anything from a TV show unless I'm talking to a fellow fan and we're discussing the show. And I can't think of a time that I've ever taken a phrase from a show/movie and used it in real life. OHHH! Yes, I have! There is a contestant on Survivor that says, "Oh my heck!" and I love that phrase now. LOL.
31. do you use subtitles while watching TV if you can? I will rewind a scene and turn them on if I'm confused about something that is being said, or I'm making a comic strip/photo or gif set where I need the exact quote.
32. what’s one show you could watch over and over? Earth 2, H20: Just Add Water, Mako Mermaids, etc. I could go on and on with some of my favorite feel-good shows.
33. would you be interested in trying a show in another language? I've tried to watch a new series on Netflix, but it just really takes me out of it when I have to read the words. I can't focus on the actions and scenery if I'm constantly having to read the dialogue.
34. what are your top 5 shows right now? The Walking Dead, Law & Order: SVU, Heartland, The Rookie, and 9-1-1.
35. who are your top 5 TV characters right now? Carol Peletier, Lt. Olivia Benson, Athena Grant, Howard 'Chimney' Han, Rookie Officer John Nolan
36. what TV character would you die for? Carol Peletier. But not really.
37. which TV show setting would you most like to visit? The Walking Dead.
38. do you prefer hour long episodes, or 30 minute? It really depends on the material. Sometimes thirty minutes is long enough to tell a complete story, but sometimes, you really need that full hour.
39. do you prefer 22 episode seasons, or 13? It really depends on the show and the story being told.
40. is there a show coming out soon that you’re really excited about? The sixth season of The 100. There is nothing new coming out that I'm that interested in.
41. if you could change 1 detail about any show, what would you change and why? I would change the way in which season four of The Walking Dead was executed so that it made better sense. I wouldn’t necessarily change the main plot points, but I would change how the story was told and would elaborate on whatever needed to be elaborated on so that it made more sense narratively speaking. I believe that certain things had to happen to get the payoff down the road, but the way in which it was written and executed was entirely bogus. Scott Gimple did not trust his audience at all.
42. what’s the longest amount of time you’ve ever watched a show in one sitting? Five plus hours when binge watching ER with my Mom on the weekends.
43. what do you think is a good amount of seasons for a TV show? Six or Seven. But that depends on the show and material for the show. Some shows really can't be wrapped up in that time frame, but some that really should end on a good note. Justified is a wonderful show, but those in charge knew that it was time to let it go. But Supernatural doesn't seem to know that it should end already. The first five or six seasons were brilliant, but it got a little (or a lot) stupid after that.
44. if you could replace any actor on TV in playing their role, who would you like to play and why? I wouldn't want to replace anyone because I absolutely love and adore the people chosen to play their specific roles. I wouldn't want to mess with the chemistry of the cast for even one minute.
45. do you own any TV shows on DVD? I own several shows on DVD. Too many to list.
46. do you prefer to watch TV alone or with friends? Alone because if you watch with friends there is too much talking going on.
47. are there any shows you love but your friends aren’t interested in? Like almost everything. LOL. My tastes and theirs do not usually mesh. It's rare that we have overlapping interest in a show.
48. are there any shows your friends love but you aren’t interested in? Yes. Just about as many of my shows as their shows, honestly.
49. who are your favourite couples on TV? Well, most of them are really canon ships, but there is Carol & Daryl from The Walking Dead, Olivia Benson and Rafael Barba from SVU, Regina Mills and Robin of Locksley from Once Upon a Time, Mulder and Scully from The X-Files. There are several more, but I think those are plenty to list right now. I have an otps page if you'd like to see the ones that I love the most. Oh! Han & Leia from Star Wars.
