Songs Called Intro
I was compling the 'songs under two minutes' post and released that I already knew three songs called Intro, which made me think of DVD Menu, which I love as a title because DVD Menus, the nostalgia, which got me thinking I should compile a list. I'm sure there are a lot more but here is what I knew / found and liked - songs called Intro/Introduction, by:
Sigur Ròs
Sonic Youth
Plastic Tree
the xx
Black Country, New Road
alt-j
Ms. Lauryn Hill
Nick Drake
Silver Jews
(and few that otherwise let you know it's the start of the album)
Prelude - Nico
Opening Title - Graeme Revell
DVD Menu - Phobe Bridgers
Introduction (Titles) - Danny Elfman
The Opener - Camp Cope
Opener - Ill Considered
Opener - Lordofon (yeah I know it's in Polish but I just found this song and it's a vibe)
and just for good measure -
Outro - Tash Sultana
Outro - Marlin's Dreaming
I dunno I just find a lot of these really peaceful... (not Camp Cope so much but it's cool so it's going on the list)

Movie #72 of 2023: Suicide Kings
Max Minot: "Oh, she's more than beautiful. She's got this way she looks at you, just... just stop your heart, you know? And make it start back up again. You know any girls like that?
"Charlie Barret: "Yeah. All of them."

There is an elephant in the room within our discussions on the state of the popular rock during the noughts lurking quite a lot. Yes, I forgot to mention nu metal. I believe the style became a shorthand to simplify the problems of rock in the period. While I would agree the brand had a lot of difficulties, some of the musicians there were quite promising. I mean, Evanescence remain one of those groups no one's really sure what to think of, yet then one samples some of their tunes and one gets surprised. A reason for the latter might be Amy Lee, she stays mentioned as one of the better vocalists of rock, but I still feel the group's underappreciated as the band has a weird place right now, i.e. you root for them, though you go to their concerts for their older material.

All-Time Favorite Trailers: 'Strange Days'
All-Time Favorite Trailers: ‘Strange Days’
I first saw this trailer when it played before “Mad Love” which starred Drew Barrymore and Chris O’Donnell. This was at Crow Canyon Cinemas, a movie multiplex I once worked at, and the volume was not all that great as the teenage audience, desperately waiting to see O’Donnell take his shirt off, were talking endlessly before the lights finally went down. I saw it again at the UC Berkeley theater,…

Exclusive Interview: Doctor Who Director, Graeme Harper
Exclusive Interview: #DoctorWho Director, Graeme Harper
Director Graeme Harper is always interesting to listen to. You’ll know him for his extensive directorial credits, including The Caves of Androzani, Utopia, and Turn Left/ The Stolen Earth/ Journey’s End. I caught up with him at Neil Cole’s Museum celebration, chatting with Pete Jorysz (Baptist Minister and knowledgeable fan) about Warriors’ Gate. I joined in… Graeme: [Warriors’ Gate] had its…
