It really feels like DBS ought to have either done away with the filler episodes or not spent so much time building the team for the tournament. Doing both just made the stretch between the Zamasu arc and the ToP feel like forever and a half. Personally I could’ve stood for none of the waffling between Buu and Freeza saving Krillin’s two-parter for the tournament prep, but even then there’d still be 17, Tien, Gohan and Piccolo to dedicate episodes to. At that point it’s a question of “does this character need 20+ minutes of justification to fight in this tournament to prevent their universe from being erased?”

For me, I think the biggest insult was when they "introduced" the Universe 10 team, but nine of theme were in robes so you couldn't see them, which completely defeated the purpose of introducing them at all. Then they did another scene where Gowasu films them for a GodTube video as a team-building exercise, and they're still in those damn robes.

I thought maybe the reason for this was that they hadn't finished designing these characters yet, and maybe there's some truth to it, but they seemed to have enough details worked out to show some of them being bigger than others, and one of them is floating. Maybe they thought this was some sort of cool secret that they didn't want to give away, except U10 was one of the worst-performing teams in the entire tournament, so it's not like these were memorable characters that needed to be saved for a big impactful debut.

In DBS's defense, I guess there may have been production details that required a long delay before starting the Tournament, and scenes like this one helped them through it, but I'm pretty sure the simplest explanation is that they wanted the anime to run for 131 episodes instead of 110 or whatever. That way they'd make more money.

And you're right, it's silly to have any character waffle over their participation in the Tournament of Power. Why would anyone refuse the call when the stakes are so high and the situation so dire? If they were going to struggle over this sort of thing, then they should have done stories about searches for even greater warriors to fill the teams out. Goku's recruitment of Frieza was controversial, but it made sense. So would the Supreme Kai searching for other fighters on unknown worlds, or the other universes trying to find their own solutions.

But in the end it still all gets settled at the tournament. U6 had some tricks up their sleeve, but they didn't need a filler episode to set up. Their Namekians just kicked ass when the time was right, and then they briefly explained how they fused with all of their fellow Namekians right before the tournament. Kale and Caulifla revealed their fusion earrings and there was a flashback to explain where they got them, but even that was barely needed. For that matter, Frieza really didn't need a long introduction. Just have the team show up with him and they can fill the audience in on the deal he made.

Being the God of Destruction requires Champa to know quite a bit about his Universe at any given time. He mostly relies on Vados to know where they are heading, but Champa is actually quite adept at recalling which direction certain things are, such as his home planet, the Sacred World of the Kais, the borders of the different quadrants, etc.

(・∀・ ) = the character's emotional state most of the time

Despite the short-temper, when Champa is not bickering with his twin or having his weight poked at by Vados, Champa is typically rather insouciant. He may even come off as slightly playful or mischievous. Typically, you will find he is rather decorous... Until offended.

Winning, or having the upperhand in a situation, is a good way to grant a chortle. He is also a sucker for slap-stick, or those compilation videos on GodTube of unfortunate souls having a bad day.

Hi again, happy to answer!

I absolutely have explored such friendships amongst the deities and have found many that work quite well! I'll give you a full list, but I may not be able to explain them all or else this post will go on forever lol. Also, some of the ships from the last post will reappear here simply because even if they don't date, they'd still be friends: Duos

Champa & Quitela - I know I ship them romantically, but even before they were dating, they had a really solid friendship and had a lot of things in common!

Iwan & Geene - I feel like they come together often and have nice little hangouts :3

Heles & Liquiir - They're basically best friends lmao

Belmod & Marcarita - I feel like these two would be the most mischievous assholes out there, but would work great as friends bc of that!

Anat & Ogma - I headcanon them as siblings, tbh. I like to think that Anat is an overprotective, yet caring brother to Ogma.

Liquiir & Korn were fairly close before they started dating. (Though poor Korn was friendzoning himself for a good chunk of that friendship)

Mule & Quitela sometimes hang out casually.

Sidra & Rumsshi meet up every few years to have tea, just to vent about their frustrations about their positions and life overall.

Belmod & Heles, both before and after dating, are practically best friends.

Whis & Beerus, that doesn't need explaining lmao

Cus & Rumsshi are absolutely friendly, but that friendship and their trust in each other eventually leads to their relationship blossoming.

Giin & Martinu, ironically, established a somewhat best friend-like dynamic after they started dating.

Pretty much everyone is close to their supreme kais, even if they openly berate or mistreat them. Considering that their work ethic depends on balance, it would've been hoped that they get along with each other. The strongest pairs are: Khai & Belmod, Heles & Pell, Iru & Liquiir, Rumsshi & Gowasu, and Geene & Agu.

Likewise, the same can mostly be said about the Gods and their Angels. I'd say the strongest pairs that haven't been mentioned are: Iwan & Awamo, Heles & Sour, and Mule & Campari.

Trios

Iwan, Arak, and Geene will have sparing sessions, but in their downtime will crack jokes about each other's universes and sometimes vent.

Quitela, Champa, and Heles have gone to each other's universes just to explore the life that grows within them. Quitela found this boring at first, but quickly found interesting planets both in their universes and within his own. Likewise, the trio often play video games together.

Gowasu, Cus, and Rumsshi are very close together, to the point where they film short videos for Gowasu's GodTube in between duties.

Daishinkan and the Zenos sometimes also film GodTube videos. I had a headcanon where they have TikTok in their world and they create video trends that the other deities participate in.

Beerus, Heles, and Liquiir have held dance contests against each other. Out of all the times, Liquiir has not one a single one.

Quitela, Champa, and Beerus eventually make up. It takes a long time, but Beerus eventually warms up to Champa and Quitela's relationship, and slowly works past his hatred for Quitela. Once this point is reached, they actually have a pretty funny dynamic where they playfully shit on each other, especially when playing games.

Friend Groups

I feel like overwhelming hatred and conflicts aside, if you lock the Gods in one place for a long period of time, they might eventually become friends. Eventually.

Champa, Quitela, Heles, Belmod, and Beerus would be the most chaotic, yet loving friend group imaginable.

Anat, Fuwa, Ea, Shin, and Agu will often gather together to have tea. They've invited Kuru to join, but he usually can't due to him having to focus on Quitela not destroying random planets when he's not looking.

The Supreme Kais are mostly buddy buddy, but sometimes Roh gets excluded because his personality becomes too exhausting. Occasionally, Ea and Pell will clash but it's mostly playful banter. They also tease Khai and Ogma a lot lmao, but Anat especially is mad with Khai for wanting his sister, of all people.

The Angels, being siblings and fairly tight, naturally get along much better than the aforementioned groups. Any "fights" they do have are mainly for laughs, and they get over any conflict fairly quickly. They also aren't afraid to call each other out.

Sometimes, all 36 deities gather together and hang out, but this is extremely rare.

I also imagine that they often have group calls just to talk/shit on each other.

And there you have it! I feel like there's more to this, but I can't recall at the moment. But I hope that this helps!

I love how in “The Trials of Apollo”, Apollo always seems to reference Ares in some way or form. Like how he makes dirty jokes, he’s unpleasant and has broken his tailbone practicing in his dojo — (which Apollo uploaded on GodTube). And I love the fact that they have a website only for Gods where they make fun of others, play pranks and so on.
