I just saw a tiktok video of someone saying that Logan was the reason Rory went back to Yale, that (direct quote) “she would sort some things out” and “he knew she would go back when she felt it was the right time”. Last, but not least, my favorite: “the speech could have come from him and she still would’ve come back, he just knew not to push her too much.”

…….My brother in Christ, did we watch the same show? This isn’t even a point of whose team you’re in, but about what actually happened and people’s skill on text interpretation.

Rory dropping out was a big deal. She studied years to get in a good college, to live a good life, we saw all her effort. The people that truly knew her were astounded by her choice. Luke offered to kidnap her, Paris went to talk to Lorelai, Jess was absolutely confused. She wasn’t giving it up, because she didn’t want it, she was doing it ‘cause she’s a people pleaser and her entire self-worth depends on people’s opinions of her. So when this thin-haired, bald spot, ugly, powerful journalist (who happens to be her bf’s dad) tells her she doesn’t ‘got it’, it crushes her. She spirals. Her decision wasn’t made on a clear head, it was insecurity induced.

To the last quote, I don’t even know what to say. ‘He just knew not to push her too much’, do you mean doing nothing at all?? ‘Cause pushing Rory to be a better person is not something I saw Logan doing. Now the speech part; the only speech I saw him give her was when she was upset about how her life was going and when she complained he made it about him and how his life was “so hard”, when she didn’t accuse him of anything, she was just venting to her boyfriend.

Okay, this is just a random thought, but for those who think that Rory and Lorelai's reunion in S6 after that exhausting riff and being back to the relationship that they were before is OOC, then you're wrong.

So, I am discussing something sensitive here but just last month, I suffered a breakdown from my mom leaving and with the stress of assessments and loneliness, I just lost it. But after my assessments were done and a single phone call later, I was back to normal.

So yeah, it is completely normal to forget a painful time when you're in a happy space after that turbulent time. But I'm not saying you should forget it completely- remember the time and learn from them.

I’d have to say one of my favorites scenes in Gilmore Girls is when Richard realizes they committed a huge mistake by the way they’ve been treating Rory. The entire scene from him with Mitchum, finally learning the truth (and for once in their life believing Lorelai, their own daughter), to Emily destroying Shira and the final look from Richard when he sees his granddaughter on that stage, becoming someone she wasn’t, being on the wrong path, he finally understands. He realizes this was way bigger than taking some time of Yale, than a stupid misunderstanding. He sees that Rory is lost on herself, in life, that she’s fading into someone else, that what he did helped her go deeper into the worm hole and that she’s not coming out of it by herself, ‘cause she’s too afraid to leave, she won’t leave by her own awakening. The anger on his face, goes to sadness and disappointment, not on Rory, but on himself. They’ve failed, once again.

Richard’s love for Rory wasn’t the same as Emily’s. Emily saw Rory as a second chance for the perfect daughter, she looks desperate to have that, she simply can’t see her granddaughter beyond the idea she’s put in her head of what she should be like. Meanwhile, Richard sees Rory for who she is. That’s the reason why he gets so depressed and Emily stays in denial, he knows Rory and that isn’t her. Richard wanted the best for her and wanted her to stay the same smart, literate, caring girl he knew, but now he sees she’s becoming a “trophy-wife” that plans parties and frivolous affairs (Emily), and that isn’t his Rory.

The beginning of season six was highly entertaining, because we finally see the elderly Gilmore realize that if he keeps on trying to create schemes so that they can have the daughter they’ve always wanted, he will lose the granddaughter they already have!

Did Dean ever read the entire Bible in one night to win the approval of his girlfriend’s mom? No, no he didn’t. Dean could never comprehend a girlfriend’s mom not liking him.

Did Logan ever run across Star’s Hollow just to briefly see Rory and then run back while on a break from playing hymns for her mother? No way he would’ve done that, especially considering that he only visited Star’s Hollow once the entire time they dated. He would’ve hired a private driver, maybe, but he never would’ve run.

Did Jess ever try to win Rory’s mother’s favor multiple times and refuse to give up? Did he agree to let Rory pretend date someone else in an elaborate ruse to eventually get them together? No, Jess would get too jealous.

Dave is superior, Lane deserved better than Zack and I stand by this.

I just did a rewatch, and season 6 Jess had no business being so damn sweet and charming 😭 Like, how did he become such a sweetheart? And I mean, how could you wish anyone else for Rory when season 6 Jess (who is still very much in love with her) exists?? I don’t get it, he’s the only option 🤷‍♀️

I KNOW!!! The way I feel this SO MUCH... He's just so... So... 🥺 He's an absolute prince.

Thanks again for helping me solve the stupidest Gilmore Girls mystery of all time (I'm still confounded by the fact that it was this season and this episode), and also for making me realize I very much need to rewatch "Nick and Nora/Sid & Nancy" and write about it, because my copy-and-pasted-tweets recap I did on here two years ago was super crappy and did not do it any justice. So anyway this scene was a kinda blink-and-miss it thing. Lorelai was indeed boycotting the diner (AGAIN) due to a fight with Luke, so moments earlier she had attempted to use Rory as a pawn in her little game and sent her in to place orders for the both of them but Luke caught on and would only serve Rory. Bereft of Luke's special Hills Brothers supermarket coffee blend, Lorelai is then seen at home complaining that there's nowhere else she can possibly buy coffee, then she pulls that white bag of coffee from her fridge. Rory sits at the table working on the interview she was planning with Max Medina. Then Luke barges in the door, goes on his jam hands rant, and Babette shows up next to inquire about her missing gnome.
