GOG winter sale has begun :] make sure you check it out before any other store (not optional). ends 2024-01-04!
games sold on GOG are free of DRM and come with completely offline installers! they’re yours to keep forever!
here are some newer games i recommend checking out!
Cult of the Lamb – US$14.99, Cultist Edition US$17.98, individual DLCs 25% off.
Note: this game launched with “antipiracy” style DRM that causes a savebreaking bug, even on the GOG version. It was patched out, but its existence rightfully turned people off and it’s reflected in the reviews.
My current home edit in the 1.6 update for Stardew Valley (desktop version, on an Apple Mac 🖥️ on GOG.com)
I’ve been so out of the gaming loop since late January I didn’t even know there was an update waiting for me until a few days ago! Stardew Valley has now officially taken over my life.
Since taking these screenshots I’ve now added an attic, the final room to decorate. Really loving all the new features, items and festivals. Just entered Autumn and enjoying the cosy vibes all over again.
Kinda spoilt me for the switch now since I’m using a Nintendo controller to play with anyway and enjoying all the mods out there. Been a lot of fun!
I downloaded the GOG edition of Skyrim Special Edition as it’s still on 1.6.629. It has been so much more stable than the Steam version and idk why. I have the exact same mods but it loads up faster and has less stutter.
Plus it’s DRM free. You get an offline installer so you can actually own the game. Since it’s DRM free you don’t need to connect to Bethesda for the Anniversary Edition creations. They’re included as a separate offline installer. It also makes updates optional.
one of the worst parts of streaming services is trying to figure out which fucking one has the show you want to watch. because there's loads of outdated articles listing where to watch stuff and google indexes Hulu/Disney+ listings for movies they don't have on there anymore and turns out it's not anywhere but digital purchase (which you don't truly own) or rental and like fuck it i'll just sail the seven seas i guess!!
(if anyone knows an actually good simple website where u can find where to watch shit and it stays updated and isnt full of AI generated SEO-increasing slop. reply/rb with it pls lol)
TRON 2.0 discounted 75% during Spring GOG 2024 Sale
TRON 2.0 is 75% off ($2.49 USD) at GOG.com during their Spring Sale until April 4, 2024!
Unlike the Steam version of TRON 2.0, this one is DRM-free. Meaning you can download a portable installer program, and install the game on as many computers as you like, as many times as you like. Without ever needing to be online to play, after downloading. (Well, unless you want to play Multiplayer, that is!)
While you can install and play the game as-is, I’d recommend checking out this guide on Steam:
Even though the guide is hosted on the Steam site, the advice there also applies to the GOG version. Modding the game will add support for widescreen display resolutions, and even fix the broken Multiplayer so you can play it again.
And, yes, any version of TRON 2.0 (Retail disc, Steam, GOG) will work on any version of Windows. Including the latest releases of Windows 10 and 11.
Even the Retail disc (CD/DVD) version of TRON 2.0 can be made to work on Windows 10 and 11, if you follow the first two steps of advice in the Steam guide.
Team Cherry has delayed Hollow Knight: Silkskong beyond its previously planned “first half of 2023” release window.
Hey gang, just a quick update about Silksong. We had planned to release in the 1st half of 2023, but development is still continuing. We're excited by how the game is shaping up, and it's gotten quite big, so we want to take the time to make the game as good as we can.
Expect more details from us once we get closer to release.
