One Japan city at a time
Tumblr media
The goal has always been to visit one Japan city at a time, beginning with Tokyo in 2018 and Osaka in 2019. And then traveling was put on hold for quite a while, not only because of the pandemic, but because I lost my long-standing job at the height of it. Actually, I lost a lot of other things—tangible and intangible ones. Fast-forward to present time: it's 2023, and I am just ever so grateful that the Universe helped me get back on track, and in so many ways, helped me treat myself (and hopefully other people) better.
Thank you, Fukuoka. Despite experiencing Japan in scorching sticky weather for the first time, you've been swell.

I've been reading similar things and it's been bothering me. I get everyone is entitled of their own opinion/feelings and I respect that, but seems pretty extreme and detrimental for the future of Yuri!!! on Ice and for the fandom. So, I'm going to get it off my chest: - Victor Nikiforov is not dead. - Katsuki Yuuri is not dead. - They are not divorced. In fact, most probably are now married and with 10 poodles happily far away from Russia. Probably living in Japan based on Fukuoka or Hasetsu. So yeah, still together. - Victor probably skated one or two more seasons. Give it 3 seasons, because it was fun experiencing it with Yuuri. Mostly won silver but maybe his last season he did scored all Gold. Then retired and has been his husbands full-time coach. Probably even Yurio's choreographer. - Yuuri may be in his last competitive season or next one would be the last one given his stamina and how late he started competitive skating. He's won gold almost every year, perhaps even 2 Gold Olympic Medals. - At the moment maybe they're planning some off-season vacations. - ''See You Next Level'' is an open ending, so the story is ever growing and evolving. They're living. - Victor's past is that: The past, and it's gone. He learned from that, maybe Ice:Ado is him reminiscing about it before deciding letting it go in that frozen lake before Yuuri and Makkachin joined him there. He would rather live in the present with his two L's. - For really frustrating reasons, the movie is not seeing the light of day. But the anime exists, the fandom still exists and 14.5 million views on the announcement prove that. Also there is still content being created by fans, honoring the ''See You Next Level'' phrase. There, now here is a really concerned faced Victor after reading such funeral like good-byes and all the 'he's dead and his husband's dead' and everything in the world imploded.

Mommy dearest 7
After the unexpected visit from All Might, you need time to think about your decision. Summer vacation is also around the corner, so what better way to relax and enjoy it than taking your little Tenko on a trip to Fukuoka. Things don’t go quite as expected.
The visit from All might have caused a change in Tenko’s behavior, he had become clingier and it just made you feel like a bad mother for not noticing his abandonment issues beforehand. Slowly but surely Tenko began relaxing again and not clinging to you every five seconds, to make sure you were still with him. It took around 2 months, and only really seemed to ease after All Might's first visit as the designated ‘cool’ uncle. It seemed like Tenko realized that no, he was not going to be taken from you when All Might went home alone.
Their interactions were a bit stiff in the beginning, as All Might had a hard time talking about anything that didn’t involve hero work or heroes in general. But after he asked Tenko about his hobbies and asked him even more about his favorite games, they began getting along quite well. It made you hopeful for Tenko’s future, it would do him some good to have a male role model. So if All Might could be that for Tenko then you were eternally grateful.
Around a month after All Might visited for the first time, and once more in the span of that one month, school was out and it was now summer vacation. And so Tenko’s pestering about going on vacation became constant “Can we go on vacation please mama” he would ask and give you those adorable puppy dog eyes of his. His little ruby eyes were your sole weakness. And after a hectic couple of months, filled with both challenges and love since Tenko arrived in your life. 5 months ago you were a young single woman, living to work and not much else. Now you were a young single mother , with a young child who had various issues of various degrees. But you wouldn’t trade him for the world.
Tenko’s constant pestering about going on vacation got to you eventually, and one evening you ended up curled in the sofa with a cuddly Tenko stuck at your side. “Tenko, do you still want to go on vacation?” You asked him softly. He turned to look at you with bright eyes, he jumped off the sofa and began doing a little happy dance. No words of confirmation came from him, but his cute little display of excitement told you more than enough.
Tenko only stopped a minute later and looked contemplative, “Can we go to Fukuoka?” His little voice rang in your ears. Shrugging your shoulders you faced him with a bright smile, “Why not”. The planning for the last minute trip to Fukuoka took around a week to plan, book and pack for. You decided to make it into a road trip, since small cramped seats on an airplane would likely be triggering for Tenko. Just like that a week after your vacation conversation with Tenko happened, you were off towards Fukuoka.
Tenko spent most of his time looking out the car window, watching in fascination all the different scenery. It was a lively drive to Fukuoka, and you were very happy with the decision to go on vacation even if it was last minute. The hotel room that you had reserved for Tenko and yourself was pretty decently sized, and it wasn’t too expensive either so all in all you were pretty happy with it. The first night was spent jumping in the bed with Tenko, just because he wanted to try it and wasn’t allowed to do it at home.
The first day of the vacation was spent in a bunch of arcades, they quickly became a favorite of little Tenko. Some of the older children and their parents approached you, and the children challenged Tenko to various games. Tenko’s video game prowess became widely known, when after 6 hours in 3 different arcades he still stood as the undefeated champion. You bought Tenko a slice of salt caramel and chocolate cake as a price, since it reduced the sweetness and was a dessert Tenko actually liked.
The second day was spent sightseeing, and making a video call to All Might as promised. All Might obviously couldn’t take a vacation day the same way you could, so the compromise was to give him a call. Tenko spent about 20 minutes yapping All Might’s ears off, boasting about how he beat a lot of kids at video games in the arcades yesterday. It warmed your heart to see Tenko boast about his achievement, since it showed that he had become more confident and that their relationship wasn’t as strained as before. You visited a shrine in the evening, and had dinner at a place nearby. Tenko’s eyes sparkled as he recalled the magnificent shrine and talked with you over dinner.
Yeah, a vacation was indeed a good idea.
On the third day however, things didn’t run nearly as smoothly. It started around lunchtime, Tenko was tugging on your hand and insisted he could find the way to the restaurant. In the end you gave up, and let Tenko drag you around the city alleys and streets. If you got completely lost, you had a phone and GPS to help you.
Tenko was chatting excitedly about the food he couldn’t wait to taste, when out of nowhere he stopped dead in his tracks. “Mama, who’s that?” The gentle tug at your sleeve made you turn your attention towards Tenko, your eyes following the finger that pointed at something. You eyes widened at the scene, a small child a little bigger than Tenko was sitting and eating out of a dumpster. The child had the most beautiful red wings attached to his back, but his clothes and the child itself was so dirty that the feathers seemed muddy.

DrV3 Birthplace Headcanons part 2!
Hello everyone! Thank you for all the likes and reblogs on my last post! In this post, I'd like to dig up more anscentral roots of drv3 characters.
Gonta Gokuhara - I had completely forgotten that Gonta's family was rich. Sorry, my fault. But since he did like the jungle(more like forest, because the only jungle in Japan is in Okinawa, and there's no repilites/wolves) . I think he lived in the rich forest in the Toyama Prefecture, which is the setting of the absolutely beautiful japanese movie Wolf Children, Yuki and Ame. If anyone hasn't watched it, I highly recommend it. It is just so heartfelt. I think Gonta could have been born in an affluent neighborhood in Tokyo(probably not Karuizawa, though, because of his plotline and all that) and they were in Toyama for a vacation when he got lost.
Maki Harukawa - This is sort of a shot in the dark, but I'm going to say way up north, like Hokkaido. It's the largest prefecure in Japan, but by no means the most populated. Most of it is either cow pastures or potato and corn farms. With its low population, it might be very ideal for a assasin training facility. A headcanon I have is that Maki was thrown into freezing lakes as part of her training---something that's definitely in Hokkaido. I have no concrete proof, but nowhere else really fits.
Ryoma Hoshi - The former High School refrences say Fukuoka, which is one of the top ten populated cities in Japan. There are also yakuza groups active in Fukuoka, mainly the Kudo-kai and Fukuhaku-kai. So plently of people who might go after him. The only ties to tennis I can find in Fukuoka is the Fukuoka International Women's Cup, which has nothing to do with him, but is pretty interesting netherless.
Angie Yonaga - DRV3 loves to make Angie's past so weird and fictional(like, Polynesian Island! How divine!) However, she's got to be at least part Japanese with her last name. My guess is Okinawa, the small tropical island area of Japan known for pineapples and sugar cane. Sort of fits, but again, canon is so weird I have basically nothing to support this.

look at my land developer dawg i’m going to jail 😫
lmao hiiii everyone! i’m anwar (not hadid) + always writing for underused model fcs but anywhooo — thank god for reopening bc i was supposed to app during the first launch but i was on vacation so my activity would’ve flopped real bad BUT… I’M HERE NOW… a lil jet lagged still but fuck it we ball :’) i present to you: iida!
navigate: general info / about / pinterest
sparknotes!
tw / suicide
okawara yosuke, 33 (proud twink death survivor btw he left that long haired era behind in his mid 20s), born and raised in fukuoka prefecture so you know he’s a bearer of the masculinized stereotype that kyushu men have but surprisingly his ego isn’t as fragile as i would expect it to be — i wonder why?
lower middle class to middle class financial status for the entirety of his childhood / it’s one of those things where as a kid you’re like “well, this is it” because you’re not fully aware that your family doesn’t have money on top of being surrounded by other kids who, in return, also come from families without bands so it is what it is / it can’t be that bad when your necessities have always been met
tbh there’s not much to write home about in terms of his childhood as in it was fortunately(?) uneventful for the most part despite starting off rocky: his mom was barely twenty when she birthed him, two freshly married young adults rushed into the hard-bitten chaos of childrearing, do they resent bro in absence of trying to enjoy the beginnings of their married life? probably, but it doesn’t matter by the time his younger brother is born, soo la voo or whatever the french be saying (tiktok reference btw if ur uncool)
yosuke is your average kyushu boy growing up: he spends his time outside rather than inside with his head in the books (it’s the same shit his teachers would always say about his lack of potential, ie: he’s lazy), has boyish fights with his younger and complete opposite of a younger brother, tries his best not to piss off his stay-at-home mom and stay away from his chronically emotionally constipated aviation mechanic drunk for a dad, you get the idea
…UNTIL the voices started to become apparent more than ever and he tells his mother who dismisses it but is reminded of her grandfather who unalived himself from alleged schizophrenia but nobody in her family knows if he ever got tested for it (y’know, if it was a genetic hereditary thing) or if it was just the aftermath of unresolved trauma/ptsd because grandpa fought in the war (you know which war) NOBODY KNOWS A GODDAMN THING. except yosuke as a child hated going to see his relatives in the far village/countryside on his mom’s hick side
lmao but when yosuke told his mom “yeah girly pop dad’s gonna have a shitty liver if he doesn’t stop drinking so much in the next couple years or so” is when she drops his ass off at a mental health facility so she definitely prioritizes her man over a kid that she wasted her 20s raising! (she’s definitely an unevolved libra no shade to yall sorry) but anywho! he’s diagnosed at 17, life is looking brighter(?), but his “schizophrenia” isn’t something talked about much at home because let’s be serious. it’s fucking abe shinzo’s japan at the time, we do not talk about shit like this
yosuke goes on to carry two jobs after high school because his parents didn’t save a college tuition fund for his lazy, non-academically inclined ass so it’s up to him to be the architect of his future / he’s psyched about entering the aviation department of kyoto university after working his ass off by trying to build a humble living but somebody’s bored and filthy rich daughter from a zainichi korean family comes into his life and what does he do? say goodbye to the ol’ pilot dream and traps this woman so he won’t ever have to worry about money like his family did
mind you he actually had love for the old girl! but he’s a gemini and gemini men get bored when you’re not their outstanding type or half as witty or clever as he may be. he knows that he’s settling for what poor lee jiyoung can do for him so after dating in college, yosuke goes on to marry the woman but never goes on to tell her about his “schizophrenia” because he’s scared that it’ll ruin his marriage (spoiler alert: it did)
so uh *scratches head and turns the page* they end up divorcing because his condition worsened as a result of his body becoming “immune” to the medications because he never had schizophrenia in the first place (ie: iida canon) — and he tried saving the relationship for the sake of his position at tk group, he really did, but at the end of the day he’s just some penniless, opportunistic man who failed to completely use up his wife’s beneficiaries. but again, he’s a gemini man who’s good at playing the part of using his “mental health” as a crutch of their failed marriage instead of being exposed for taking advantage of his ex-wife financially
(trust me he’d rather be that Type of Shitty instead of portrayed as the Exploitative Type of Shitty because it gets some pity points on his end. believe the scheme!)
so now? okawara yosuke takes up the tk group’s little passion project proposal with goero because it’s a chance at redemption. he needs to prove one way or another that he’s worthy of his job, that he’s the right man for it, his undying loyalty to the corp (questionable :3), and he’s taken the more political and diplomatic approach of gravitating/winning the trust or appeal to goero’s inhabitants instead of the founding families ‘cause his coworker’s already doing that anyways — he understands his shortcomings as a foreigner (more so as a japanese guy telling yall what to do with the land so goero can prosper financially and commodity-speaking for trade.. and commerce..) so if he can strengthen his morale to the people even if it doesn’t mean the quota won’t be met — yosuke would prefer that for the sake of ethics. he will promise the residents of goero that much: business or not.
that is all. i think. :-) i’ll be yapping for specifics on discord if needed be
personality!
likes to think of himself as an ambivert over being written off as an extrovert which is kinda true? despite being a professional yapper with those he’s suuuuper comfortable with, he finds that people who don’t match or vibe with him tire him out very quickly / genuinely a very friendly person and is emotionally inhibited probably as a result of his career where logic/numbers/analytics are concerned so yosuke prefers to focus on reason over the “possibilities” … even tho he would like to be that optimistic / isn’t one to have an extreme temper, but can be prone to outbursts if incompetence is in question / really. really. hates the notion of being black-or-white on many matters as life usually puts him in the grey area so. u know. atm doesn’t have any ulterior motives because he doesn’t have it in him anymore to be evil or whatever. he ran out of plans. just trying do the right thing from here on out, so, let him help you! bro’s probably a lawful neutral man i know i’m sorry for being boring :/ c’est la vie
connections!
i prefer brainstorming over anything and i’m down for just about everything so hit me

i think ryuu’s from kyushu (kumamoto) and i think he speaks kumamoto-ben/ hakata-ben (picked it up from traveling to fukuoka a lot when he was young and having friends from there, its comfortable for him) when he gets to uni though he generalizes his speech to tokyo japanese because hes scared of standing out. one time though he gets caught up in the excitement of something and lets a yoka!! slip and kazuma is like. huh? and for the rest of their schooldays will not leave him alone about it. he thinks its so charming to hear ryuu speak in the dialect and asks him to teach him. ryuu is Very embarrassed but also loves how kazuma looks at him as if hes special for it (not to mention... its nice to have a handle on something that kazuma Doesnt know how to do. kazumas such a tokyoite big city important samurai lineage guy and hearing him try to wrap his speech around kumamoto-ben is so cute to ryuu). so it becomes a little secret between them. i can imagine ryuu in the middle of teaching him one day says that if he really wants to learn it he should stay in the area for a bit at least and thats how kazuma slyly invites himself over to meet ryuu’s family one summer vacation :)

Tag 41. 13.08.2023
Jukjeon.
Gute Nacht!
Day 41. August 13, 2023
Jukjeon. Today we got up early to attend a church service in Bundang. The journey from Myeongdong over the Han River to the south went smoothly, so we had time for a stop at Starbucks to top up on caffeine. The church (할렐루야교회) was impressive, grandly built on a mountain with a three-story underground parking garage, live-streaming of the sermon, and its own kitchen that pumped out dishes like a hospital cafeteria. Furthermore, we were the only foreigners far and wide.
After an extended lunch break, we drove to a folk village (한국민속촌) in the vicinity of Bungnam. While now a tourist attraction, the folk village used to be a completely different world in the past. We marveled at an amphitheater, a wooden nobleman's house, and a village prison. We enjoyed Haemuljeon (Korean seafood pancake), Gamja-jeon (Korean potato pancake), and drank rice wine that was enjoyable. Afterwards, we watched a lively dance performance and participated in village activities in various courtyards. As the typhoon was bothering China and Taiwan by now, we had humid weather again. In short, we sweated like crazy.
Next, we headed to Jukjeon (죽전), where we ordered Shaved Ice, once with Mango (애플망고치즈빙수) and once with red beans (인절미팥빙수). We then went for dinner, again Korean BBQ, but this time Jeju style. For all geography enthusiasts, Jeju Island is a vacation island south of the Korean mainland and west of Fukuoka. We tried three pork variations: Korean bacon (about 5cm thick), pork skin, and a tofu-pork soup. Webster liked the first variation the best with Gojujang. We then walked through Jukjeon, a young and vibrant student neighborhood with many cafes and thrift stores. On the way back to Seoul, we stopped by the Han River bank to see Gangnam and Seoul from a different perspective.
Tomorrow promises to be a busy day, and we're looking forward to it. We’ll of course keep you posted. Good night!

Hi!
It’s been a while since we post something, so we thought we’d answer a few of the asks we received in the last couple of weeks! Sound good? Yes? Okay then let’s go!
Actually, one last thing, have you listened to With You yet today? No? Guess now is a perfect moment for it! And do you know Yoongi has a song out with Psy on Friday called That That? Well now you do! I’m super excited for it and so curious!
From anon: Hi. I hope you guys are doing well!! I miss your posts and I can't wait for guys to get back to blogging. No pressure though. The lack of your posts has led me to scour tumblr and I've come across some blogs that, nevermind.
Did any of you get tickets to see BTS in Vegas. Stay safe💜. I hope you come back to blogging soon about BTS and vmin
Unfortunately, neither of us got tickets for Las Vegas but Admin 1 watched each night via ARMY streams and then the official stream on the final day.
As for blogging, we still love BTS and vmin (as well as namjin), we’ve just been lacking motivation (and time) for a little. We’re not leaving or anything though, no, no. We’re still around. I had an idea for a namjin related post in regard to Outro: Herbut I wasn’t sure if anyone would be interested in it. As for vmin, well, did you see them in that vlive with Hobi (and JK for the last 10 min)? With their giggles and Tae’s habit of wanting to give food to Jimin, sharing a spoon and Tae wanting to go with Jimin to the bathroom and being very pouty when he was told to stay? Adorable and basically vmin in their natural state when interacting with each other. Or when first Jimin and then Tae took over their twt account and Tae ended their takeover with setting a screenshot from their TinyDesk performance as profile picture where him and Jimin point at each other.
Tumblr media
From anon: I don't wanna discredit any of bts' bonds because they're all super close but i'm baby army and i was wondering what the significance is of jkk's tokyo trip? cause jikook only talked about it close to the trip itself while vmin talk about their japan fukuoka memories for years and it seems more important? but fans rarely mention the vmin japan memory and always talk about jkk tokyo trip. does it have significance i don't know of?
I think the biggest factors that contribute to this are: xkookers being loud in their way of using ship tunnel vision, and the fact that the Tokyo trip has a GCF, as well as pictures/selcas and twts posted from/about it, while the vmin Fukuoka memory (or their memories of visiting the snow festival, going on a walk at night in London, and many others) only exists as anecdotes scattered around different content and interviews over the years. Plus, there are no pictures or videos from it either. So, if you missed the content where the Fukuoka memory is brought up, you might simply not know about it.
As shippers we have a tendency to assign more meaning to things pertaining to our ship while either ignoring or assigning lower “value” to things that do not. For example, while xKookers heavily focus on Tokyo with the argument that it was just the two of them so it must mean something, it is interesting that they ignore Jimin going on a trip to Hawaii and Europe with his friend in 2019 during their official vacation. Both those trips have accompanying videos, the GCF and Jimin’s vacation vlog, and were mentioned only for a short while after they happened and then not really brought up again later. Jimin had fun during both of those trips, so who is to judge which of the two means more to him, and who are we/shippers to assign higher or lower values to one or the other?
And no, I’m not saying this in an effort to discredit GCF Tokyo because it was a cute and fun trip that JK and Jimin went on and I’m sure they have fond memories of it, but since anon asked about it, I used it for my example, too.
Also, whether it has a significance you don’t know about, well, as far as we are aware Jimin wanted to go on a trip to Japan with both Tae and JK, but the schedule lined up in such a way that he could only go with JK. So, they went and JK used the trip to film and create his first GCF as a way to commemorate the trip as well as show us his passion for video making. Meanwhile the vmin Fukuoka memory represents one of many fond Japan memories that vmin have together, of going on walks at night, buying lunches/snacks at the convenience store, drinking beer, and going for a walk to Fukuoka Dome. They’d looked at the venue and promised each other that one day they would perform there. And eventually, a few years later, they did. The last time the memory was brought up was by Tae in the making footage from the Film Out MV/BTS The Best DVD content in 2021 I believe.
More below the cut:
From anon: Hello! I love your Blog ^_^! I am also very new to Tumblr ( 3 days hahah) I would like to ask you, where do you think Vmin are at this stage of their relationship no matter if it's a friendship or a relationship? You know people change, emotions change, dreams change... where are they now? ( I love Vmin BTW and not shipper just for clarification) Thank you!!
I’d say that is an impossible question to answer as outsider, one that really only they themselves would be able to answer accurately. Through watching them and the habits they’ve formed together, things they say and mention, like Tae calling Jimin first thing after waking up or wanting to go to the bathroom together like it’s the most normal thing between them, we can get an idea of it though.
From anon: Hi admin ♡♡♡ I love your blog though I kinda wish you have a masterlist of topics/q's you have discussed already. I wish you'd make one when you have time hehe thank you. Anw, i hope you are well!
I’ll admit I once started to make one (now I’m cursing past me for not finishing it at the time) but after posting 300+ posts it is a bit of a daunting and very time-consuming task so for now I can only say that we’ll have one posted…eventually.
From anon: It's quite interesting to see the guys shine so much more recently. Their Instagram accounts and individuality is peaking at the moment I feel. Taehyung is literally going around making western artist friends and living his jazz fanatic self, old soul like lol
Truly their IG accounts have been a blessing and bring out their personalities so cutely with Namjoon’s feed being all earth tones and museum visits and nature, Hobi being the king of style making everyone relieved he chose music and not modeling because his pictures and visual? Wow. Then there’s Tae seemingly posting whatever and yet it somehow makes sense as he shows us his love for jazz, old music and movies, his selcas and vcuts, very cute. Then we have JK who, after being the member that seemed to stay away from sns the most for a very long time, blessed us with several multiple hour long Q&A sessions in his IG Stories, with boxing videos and even song and dance covers. I very much did not see that coming. Seokjin, Yoongi and Jimin seem to be the least active out of all the members, with Jimin struggling the most to figure out IG and preferring to just stick to Weverse instead.
It’s cute to see them use their platforms differently, to see if you like a post before Hobi does, and if you’ll catch Tae’s IG Story before he inevitably deletes it.
From anon: Nothing funnier than people saying shipping (i mean harmless shipping, not believing) is disrespectful when april 1st reminds me of when jimin made a whole ass article about namjin dating. Jimin #1 namjin shipper me thinks
This, honestly. Still makes me wonder to this day what led him to that idea and made him actually do it. Guess Jimin simply knows things we don’t. ;)
Tumblr media
Also this adorable gif made out of the namjin video Jimin once posted claiming they looked like “husband and wife”, if my memory doesn’t fool me:
Tumblr media
The following three asks follow a similar line of thinking/questioning so I’ve decided to group them together:
From anon: I started using the BIRD app again (was not using it for the sake of my sanity) and now i regret it. Alot of antis calling friends 'soulmate shit'(wtf?!) And now these T/kkers think that Bighit is now planning Vmin> J/kk and calling vminies J*KERS. I'm not engaged in arguing with them but just watching these things being said about vmin , their bond and us.... breaks my heart.
From anon: Hi. Can I just rant here? I'm tired of people constantly ignoring vmin and saying JK and Jimin are the closest. I don't have any issue with people not shipping them or not seeing anything in them. I do have an issue with people acting like vmin aren't the two closest members.
I know Jimin and JK are close but it's constantly annoying when you have two members continuously highlighting how special they are to each other and some people are just here denying their bond while also trying to make it seem like they are objective.
From anon: Heyhey! I have a question. When i became army i thought vmin would be THE ship but it turns out the 2 other ML ships are bigger and vmin is taken less serious. Now i saw some ppl say that it's because vmin have clearly defined their rs as "friends" but i am confused cause haven't tkk also called friends and have jkk not said often they are like (bio) brothers? Is that not also defining a rs' nature? I wonder if there are any other differences/explanations?
Most of this can be boiled down to: loud (usually leaning toward toxic) shippers creating an environment in which their chosen ship is the end all be all while everyone else is just whatever because, well, they said so. But you know why all of that has long stopped bothering me? Because regardless of how shippers, antis, mantis, whoever else might try to downplay the bond vmin share, and how they might twist the nature of their bond to fit whichever mold they allow vmin to occupy, none of it affects reality at all. Vmin are soulmates (and boyfriends) and having strangers on twt saying they are just distant acquaintance who just happen to be in the same band and secretly hate each other won’t change or affect that at all.
The only ones who truly know what the bonds within BTS are like, who the closest members are and in which way, are the members themselves. They’ve given us years’ worth of insight into their different dynamics and bonds, how they’ve changed, evolved, and matured over the years, and if some are not willing to listen because certain things don’t fit their narratives, that’s their problem and not that of the members. And the amount of times Tae and Jimin have highlighted their closeness and importance to each other? Incredible.
Which brings me back to the thing I’ve written an entire post about: the importance of curating your TL to stay away from the toxicity and things that will ruin your experience as ARMY first, shipper second.

♙ 1.e4 . an opening for Dojima Daigo / @dojimakaichou
The hotel building was less than impressive - it was barely worthy of the three stars it advertised underneath the neon lights making up its name, and there were several signs around of a location that had seen its prime a long time ago: wallpaper peeling off, small infiltrations on the ceiling, flickering lights here and there and nothing to show for room service.
As far as vacation retreats went, that was no resort; but for a temporary safehouse and hiding spot, it was remarkably generic. Nothing too over the top and still within city center - no one would think of looking for Dojima Daigo in the most obvious place of them all: Fukuoka. Soon enough, from early next morning onward, mostly everyone would have assumed the worst and declared the Sixth Chairman of the Tojo to be missing after a night stroll following an alliance negotiation.
But Daigo had not gone anywhere and the fact that Eirene was in that suite would have sounded strange to most (if not all) relevant yakuza players of the Tojo - they were not friends, and the history between the biggest clan in all of Kanto and the Quinn group was one of strife. There had been a lot of heated conversations, not so veiled threats and no small number of sabotage attempts before a cold war of sorts was controlled, a truce between them enforced at the request of their leaders.
Still - a meeting between the two of them without any of their personal bodyguards would be strongly opposed or outlawed by their inner circles. And yet, that was precisely what the Quinn CEO and the Tojo chairman were doing, all the time being careful enough to ensure they were not being followed or drawing attention to themselves, and setting the first step of a plan mostly elaborated by Daigo in motion.
Eirene had to appreciate it - the ingenuity of his scheme, the patience for a long game; her rival was a worthy one, and a man she had come to grown fond of. Besides, with Daigo away from the Tojo, things were less than hospitable for Quinn's operations in Kamurocho; but as long as he had the clan under control, her profit margins were likely to be undisturbed by external factors.
To ensure the status quo remained as it was, she had volunteered to be chased and hunted as some sort of betrayer - and frankly, the complicated sets of moves and counters that had been orchestrated excited her. More than the danger involved, there was the possibility of the real enemy seeing through their ideas - and the exhilaration of a high-profile game beginning was hard to masquerade, even more so than the CEO's unusual appearance in the streets of any Japanese city.
And that was why Eirene took some time by the door, carefully removing the most relevant parts of her disguise - a hat, a long wig made of black tresses, a pair of sunglasses to keep her trademark eyes covered. They accompanied a leather jacket over a mini-dress and knee-length boots that she would never ordinarily choose to wear - instead of a businesswoman, Eirene looked like the groupie of an indie band, but it felt good to get at least the fake hair and the flamboyant hat off.
"It would seem your former mentor and predecessor isn't as dedicated as I am in relation to disguises," Eirene mentioned once she looked like herself again, at least from her neck up, "Suzuki Taichi and Kiryu Kazuma could be twins. One look at his driver's picture on the company's directory and I could tell it was the same man... If he's truly as legendary as everyone tells me, I wonder how he made it thus far without anyone putting two and two together."
Eirene's movements were slow then - her undressing meant to be both a source of comfort (for her) and safety (for Daigo), as he was able to examine his partner for any concealed weapons. The woman then picked up a plastic bag from a convenience store, walking over to the yakuza and handing him a can - coffee, still pleasantly warm despite walk from the store to the hotel, keeping another to herself. It was late - and yet there was not going to be a lot of sleep for either of them anytime soon.
"How are you holding up, Dojima-kun?"

OCTOBER 31
this morning i woke up at around 7:30 and started getting ready to go to town with althea and a pioneer sister named ai. for breakfast i had a yakult, skinned apples again, and of course another piece of fluffy toast with butter and trader joe's strawberry jam on it. ai picked us up at around 9 with her two kids, nia and kai. kai is 5 and nia is 7. kai is so shy, it's adorable!! he wouldn't even talk to us or look at us at first. we dropped him off at school, (their school starts at 10) and dropped nia off at her obachan's (grandma's). then we officially started our day in fukuoka! ai is amazing. she speaks perfect english and she's very excitable and giggly. she laughs so much, even at the littlest of things. it's adorable, and i wish i could take her home with me. i learned a lot from her. for example, all of the pioneers here get extra tiny kcars because it's easy to get into parking spots with them. at home it's the opposite. the pioneers always get larger cars in order to have more seating space available for carpooling. she also told us about her congregation. after the governing body sent out the letter saying congregations can meet together again, only ten people max were attending their hall for a whole 6 months! everyone else was meeting together on zoom. during their C.O. visit, the brother encouraged everyone to come in person, and ever since then the congregation has been all together. it's been very encouraging for them since then. we also talked about samurai guys and their long hair, specifically about atsushi sakurai!!!!! ai had never heard of him or buck tick before, but she started busting out laughing when i showed her pictures of him. she was cracking up and covering her face saying "oh my, you hope to find a guy like that in paradise? oh...." and patted me encouragingly on the shoulder. i think she thinks his hair is just too magnificent. after the 30 minute car ride, we finally reached a little town where ai said people from japan go for vacation. weeping willow trees grow as far as the eye can see!! (my favorite kind of tree!) there were bridges and little streams with boats that had pink lanterns hanging on them– very reminiscent of venice but with a unique japanese air. tons of obachans and ojichans were riding the boats. there was a special hotel there that was built during the feudal era, and it's very historical. from the outside, it's gorgeous. we walked the area, took pictures together, and took pictures of this stylish korean couple and their baby who was also visiting. ai-san took us to eat uni, which is a certain kind of fish that is like an eel, i think? we ate uni onigiri and she warned us a lot that we might not like it, but it was actually super delicious!!! funnily enough, i didn't even taste the fish once. all i could taste was yummy food. then, we went to a second hand kimono shop. there were lots of really cool kimonos there, but the ones i wanted were all stained! i was bummed out until i saw the one that spoke to my soul, and it was the best one out of them all. black, with red design and the inside was a hot pink. i bought it, and also a little cardigan and a 1 dollar rilakumma.
it's important to note that while i was looking at the kimonos, two japanese guys walked in. one of them had his hair tied up in a manbun like eren jaeger, and his other friend was cool looking too. i didn't think anything of it, but apparently ai thought it was suspicious how long they were looking at kimono sashes. when i went to the other clothing area, they also came down, but i thought they were just done looking at kimonos. i was checking out the skirts with ai, when she walked away for a moment. not even 3 seconds after she left, the man bun guys friend started coming down the isle i was walking down! i immediately looked away so as to not make awkward/inviting eye contact, and then turned down the other isle when i heard a voice say "sumimasen~~" i was like, no way, he didn't just say excuse me to me. not happening. and then he stopped me through the clothing rack between us and started speaking fluent japanese to me. i was like "wakarimasen...." and he just kept going. since he obviously didn't get the message, i spoke back in english saying i don't know japanese. then he finally went, "instagrameu changeu?" he wanted to swap instagrams with me!! 😭 i said "gomenasai..... i don't have instagram" and he defeatedly turned back around. i just stayed stopped in my tracks, looking around anywhere that wasn't in his direction with my hand covering my shocked face. i heard the guy talk to his friend who was waiting at the end of the isle, and once they were far enough away i ran to the changing room and hid. i just can't believe the first day i go out into town and already the devil is testing me with cute japanese guys. i'm just so glad it wasn't the man-bun one or else i would've have some serious disappointment on my hands. i "psst'd" althea and ai over and told them the whole thing, and they were surprised, because it hadn't even been two minutes since they left me. so embarrassing!! i felt so flustered and embarrassed for that guy.
to shake it off, we bought our things and then headed to the local mall to take photobooth pictures. there's tons of photo-booths to choose from, all with different wacky filters and borders. the one we chose ended up totally deforming our faces by making us white as a ghostly porcelain doll, with huge doe eyes and a super duper small face. the results of those pictures were terrifying, but taking them together was so fun, especially with ai-san dying from laughter. after the ultra 4,000 catfish experience, i got a little moomin from a gatcha machine, checked out a 100 yen shop, and ate yummy mall udon. ai went and picked up kai and nia, and we got to give them gifts. kai loves dinosaurs, so i gave him a dinosaur sticker and candy. nia loves ballet, so i gave her a flamingo that looks like it would probably be good at ballet. it was so adorable seeing kai's reaction. he's so shy, he was even sticking his head in a bag so he wouldn't have to look at us, but you could see he was just trying to hide his big smile. in the car, i gave them extra candy and stickers. kai chose all the lion stickers, and nia put them all up in the back of ai's car. (sorry ai!) i told ai that i'm already planning my next trip to japan, and that i never want to leave her. she said that she isn't dying, and that next time i come i can stay at her house. she told me that there's a ferry from busan, korea, to fukuoka, japan thats only 200 round trip. it's so perfect!!!!! i want to come back and stay with her forever!!!! she's so sweet, kind, funny, and fun to be around. i hope my family can meet her someday.
when we got home, it was just me and althea and suzuko (ryan's aunt.) she gave us delicious sweet potatoes coated in honey, with bitter green tea. it tasted amazing, but i was already completely stuffed and was about to hop in the shower. we had to talk through google translate, but it was still pretty awkward! especially because the only english she understood this whole trip is when i told althea that i wasn't hungry. 😭. poor suzuko. we still found a way to communicate though, and she even taught us about when to properly wear the kimonos we bought. when i finally got to take a shower, everyone had left the house, so it was just me and ryan's obachan. when i got out of the shower, obachan was in the dark hallway speaking concerned japanese to me and making an X with her hands. i was like, oh no, is my hair dripping water all over the floor? am i supposed to dry it before walking on the tatami mats? she backed me up into the bathroom again, and i still had no idea what she was trying to tell me. i kept saying wakarimasen and gomenasai, and poor obachan just kept repeating herself and making more indecipherable hand gestures. i literally felt like i was in an alternate universe- it was such a strange and awkward experience. finally i thought of calling ryan, so i said chotto matte and dialed his whatsapp, but got no response. so i called althea instead and she let me know they were pulling into the driveway, (thank goodness!) when ryan finally came in, he found out that obachan was just really worried because everybody was gone except for me, so she thought they had left me. she thought i must be starving because i hadn't eaten yet, (but she didn't know ryan and althea were bringing food back) and she was also worried because she thought i must be cold. well, if i had been able to pass her in the hallway i would've grabbed a jacket, lol! she is so sweet, and i felt so bad that she was worried. she kept bringing up how concerned she was the whole rest of the night! i made sure she saw us all eating at the table together. ryan, althea and i had a nice time unwinding and talking about our day as we ate. ryan seemed so happy, and i was happy too! i can't wait for tomorrow, honto ne!

Positive COVID-19 Tests Force Changes to NOAH (Fujita), NJPW (Fujinami + Ospreay) Supercards; NJPW Golden Fight Series Nights 8 + 9 - 4/27 & 4/28/2022; Accusations Against Chris Dickinson; Full Dead Or Alive 2022 Card; ZERO1 Otani Benefit Show Announced
I know I said I was gonna just do a post tomorrow initially, but too much has happened since Tuesday that it behooves me to do so.
COVID-19 is still a thing, especially in Japan. It’s now altered two of the Golden Week supercards.
The first announcement came yesterday from Pro Wrestling NOAH, where it was revealed a positive PCR test meant that Kazuyuki Fujita would not be able to defend the GHC Heavyweight title against Go Shiozaki on Saturday at Tokyo Ryogoku Kokugikan. The title has been vacated, and Go Shiozaki will now face a TBD opponent. Kaito Kiyomiya put himself forward as Shiozaki’s opponent . Kiyomiya is already booked to team with Yoshiki Inamura against Naomichi Marufuji & a mystery opponent. We will see what becomes of this. The altered match(es) have not yet been announced.
There was a lot of snark on Twitter (and I contributed to some of it), because while I don’t think the COVID-19 diagnosis is anything but genuine, this is a very Kazuyuki Fujita thing to do, in order to get out of doing a job he doesn’t want to. Then again, I am not shy about my contempt for Fujita, and it may be coloring my reaction. That said, hope he recovers without too much difficulty.
This morning, NJPW announced that both Tatsumi Fujinami and Will Ospreay also both tested positive, and therefore would miss Wrestling Dontaku 2022 on Sunday from the Fukuoka Pay Pay Dome. Ospreay was supposed to be in the IWGP US Heavyweight title decision match against Hiroshi Tanahashi; that match is now Tanahashi v. Tomohiro Ishii. As for Fujinami, he will now be replaced by a mystery wrestler in the 6-man tag match with Shingo Takagi & BUSHI (himself a replacement for Hiromu Takahashi, who is now wrestling YOH in a singles match) against Taichi, Zack Sabre Jr. & TAKA Michinoku. I’m a little concerned for Fujinami – the man is 68 years old, hardly a spring chicken. Hoping he (and Ospreay) also recover soon.
Since we’re here, let’s wrap up the Golden Fight Series tour, shall we?

YOH vowed to finish Hiromu on Sunday.
Last night on Twitter, a series of posts from wrestler Christina von Eerie went out citing abuse, gaslighting, etc., from a former partner of hers, recent NJPW signing Chris Dickinson. Dickinson has denied any such abuse took place. All the tweets are out there. You decide what to do with the information. For myself, I’m pretty disappointed to hear of all this. I also know that NJPW typically does absolutely nothing regarding their non-Japanese talents being accused of anything (indeed, they rarely do for their Japanese talents), so I am not holding my breath for any repercussions to come from NJPW or NJoA. It’s a shitty situation, and one that continues to be all-too frequent in wrestling. Change needs to come.
The tour is over, and the next event is Sunday’s big Wrestling Dontaku 2022 from Fukuoka. The event will be shown live on NJPWWorld, and I think FITE TV as well if you want. Below is the revised card.
Wrestling Dontaku 2022 - 5/1/2022, Fukuoka Pay Pay Dome (NJPWWorld)

Dragon Gate
The full card for Dead Or Alive 2022 has been announced. The biggest noticeable thing is there is no Dead Or Alive Cage Match this year. Which is OK. We do not need to have The Dead Or Alive Cage Match every year just for the sake of having The Dead Or Alive Cage Match. We already have one man wrestling twice in two title matches, and a stipulation where someone has to leave a unit if they lose. It’s OK.
One note – Hip Hop Kikuta has now announced he is no longer Hip Hop Kikuta, but is going back to his given name, Madoka Kikuta. This really feels like they are over-egging Kikuta’s return where he will TOTALLY NOT BE JOINING Z-BRATS to where it’s becoming obvious HE IS TOTALLY JOINING Z-BRATS. They are not being subtle here.
Dead Or Alive 2022 - 5/5/2022, Aichi Prefectural Gymnasium (DG Network)
Open The Twin Gate Championship: Dragon Dia & Yuki Yoshioka [D’Courage] © v. Shun Skywalker & Diamante [Z-Brats]
4-Way Match: Shachihoko Boy v. Punch Tominaga v. Mondai Ryu v. Yosuke Santa Maria
Masaaki Mochizuki, Don Fujii, Yasushi Kanda & Shuji Kondo v. Strong Machine J, La Estrella, Ishin Iihashi & Takuma Fujiwara
Madoka Kikuta & Jacky “Funky” Kamei [Natural Vibes] v. BxB Hulk & HYO [Z-Brats]
Genki Horiguchi, Big Boss Shimizu & Jason Lee [Natural Vibes] v. Ben-K, Keisuke Okuda & Kagetora [HIGH-END]
Ryukyu Dragon Pro Wrestling Twin Ryuo Championship: Kzy & U-T [Natural Vibes] © v. YAMATO & Dragon Kid [HIGH-END]
Open The Brave Gate Championship: Dragon Dia [D’Courage] © v. SB KENTo [Z-Brats]
Open The Triangle Gate Championship: Kota Minoura, Naruki Doi & Kaito Ishida [Gold Class] © v. Eita, NOSAWA Rongai & Kotaro Suzuki [Perros del Mal de Japon]
Open The Dream Gate Championship: KAI [Z-Brats] © v. Susumu Yokosuka [Natural Vibes] - If Susumu loses, he must leave Natural Vibes and revert his name to Susumu Mochizuki
Other News
Pro Wrestling ZERO1 will be holding a benefit show for Shinjiro Otani on 6/4/2022 from Tokyo Ota Ward Gymnasium. So far, support and participation has been pledged from NJPW (specifically Yuji Nagata, Togi Makabe & Tomoaki Honma, the latter of whom has had similar issues to what Otani has suffered), NOAH, BJW, 2AW, FREEDOMS, Ganbare!, OZ Academy, Diana and Tatsumi Fujinami. More details as they come.
In other tribute show news, another match has been announced for the Jumbo Tsuruta Memorial show on 5/31/2022 at Korakuen Hall. Shingo Takagi will team with a mystery partner, against the Aoyagi brothers, Yuma & Atsuki, from All Japan. Shingo has said his mystery partner may not be a member of Los Ingobernables, or indeed any other wrestler from NJPW.
More Fortune Dream 7 matches have been announced as well, as #STRONGHEARTS will take on AJPW in two matches. First, Takao Omori will face off against Issei Onitsuka, whilst CIMA & T-Hawk will take on the TOTAL ECLIPSE tandem of Jake Lee & Hokuto Omori. That’s on 6/15/2022 from Korakuen Hall as well.
In some final housekeeping news, if you follow my @StrongStylStory Twitter account, it will be changing its name to either @gdwessel (my current personal one, which I am retiring and merging into this one), or @GeoffreyWessel or @GeoffreyDWessel as a temporary measure if there is such a thing as Twitter time limits or something. We’ll see. Just a word of warning, this will be happening Sunday, probably AFTER I do that day’s post.
That’s it for today. See you tomorrow for the start of the Golden Week megacards.
